Authorizing on new computer w/out Internet?

Hi everyone,
Originally, I used my Ipod with Itunes on my mom's computer. When I got my own computer at my apartment (30 miles away) I deleted most of my stuff off her computer, and set up everything on my new one.
I copied all of my purchased songs from the Ipod to Itunes (including playlists) with 3rd party software on my new computer.
Now I can't play any of it only because the songs aren't authorized and I don't have internet to authorize them! I'm about to get laid off so I won't be paying for internet any time soon.
Also, Itunes erased all purchased music from the Ipod during an update...again, the authorization thing.
Am I just SOL until I get internet? I didn't realize Apple had this much control over stuff I paid for.
currently using Itunes 6

Yes, you need the internet to authorize the computer to play the songs. I don't know about you but I get a free CD from AOL every month promising a 1000 free hours. I think Earthlink also does a free 30 day trial period. I would sign up for a temporary account like this and get the authorization squared away and then cancel the account.

  • How can I sync my ipod 6g. to a new computer with out losing all the info

My computer is starting to fail so I bought a new one. How do I sync my ipods they are 6 gen to the new computer with out losing all the data that is on the ipod?

Was your iPod previously set up to Manually Manage (where you dragged/dropped the music) or was it set to auto sync (where it started sycning as soon as you plugged it in.)?
If it was set to Manual, you have no worries. Just continue on your way.
If it was set to Auto, you will have to transfer your purchases or redownload them from the iTunes store.
You're either going to have to get the other music back from the websites/CDs you got them from before or find an iPod ripping software program that will do it for you.

After getting a new desktop I downloaded iTunes and authorized my new computer and then de-authorized my old one,  When I try to update my 5S it says my phone is not authorized and list my wifes email address as the account holder and not mine.  How do I correct this. I am using Windows 8.1 .  My wife has never had an iTuunes account

    Hello Lakesidetom,
It sounds as though you are experiencing an issue with an Apple ID and authorizations. Based on your post, it sounds like you are familiar with the authorizing and deauthorizing process. The Apple ID in question (your wife's email) may be originating from the iPhone you are attempting to update. Is it possible that your wife created an Apple ID or iCloud account which is signed in on that iPhone? Below, I have included links to some resources that may help you determine if your wife has created an Apple ID:

Use these steps if you forgot your Apple ID or aren't sure that you have one.

  • How do I get my iTunes library from my broken computer onto my new computer??? I allowed home sharing and also authorized the new computer but nothing showed up!

How do I retrieve my iTunes library from a broken computer onto another computer?? I've clicked on home sharing and also authorized the new computer to my account but still nothing!

It would help if you would describe what a 'broken' computer is. Did a truck run over it? Does it just not turn on? etc.

  • HT1420 I have "authorized" my new computer--still not authorized to play itunes music associated with old apple id

I have "authorized" my new computer in itunes to play and sync old itunes library. However, not all songs can be played due to a continuing authority problem. Apparently, these old songs are associated with a old user apply id--and old--no longer accessible email address. What can I do to associate music (which I paid for) on an old outdated apple id to my current apple id?  Thank you!

Copy it from the other computer or from your backup copy of your other computer.

  • I cannot open pdf in my new computer in the internet. Help please

I cannot open pdf in my new computer in the internet. I have Windows 8 and Internet Explorer 11. All it does is open up a blank page with a white x in a black square. How can I fix this?

Hi Pat..When I tried to run Fix It the computer pops up a screen that says this trouble shooter does not apply to this computer .The article refers to Internet Explorer 10 and Im running Internet Explorer 11. I did try to see it it would fix my problem but the registry entry does not exist on my computer (HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\TabProcGrowth) I can get as far as HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer but I dont have the option to choose Main. I only have the option to choose New Window which does not open up when clicked. Internet Explorer also has no value. Is there anything else I should try?

my old laptop is not working.  How do I get my itunes account and library on my new computer with out wiping out my ibrary?

    Hi 1Donald,
To answer your question, ''"How can my new desktop have a KEY when it is not even part of the sync yet?"''
You need to get the key from the new device and enter it into the old device. So on the old device select "Pair a device" and the place to enter the key will show up.
    I hope this helps.

    Thanks for you help!

    Authorization and Deauthorization
See iTunes Store- About authorization and deauthorization for Macs.
See How to Authorize or Deauthorize iTunes | PCWorld for Windows.
In iTunes you use the Authorize This Computer or De-authorize This Computer option under the Store menu in iTunes' menubar. For Windows use the ALT-S keys to access it.
More On De-authorizing Computers (contributed by user John Galt)
You can de-authorize individual computers, but only by using those computers. The only other option is to "de-authorize all" from your iTunes account.
      1. Open iTunes on a computer
      2. From the Store menu, select "View my Account..."
      3. Sign in with your Apple ID and password.
      4. Under "Computer Authorizations" select "De-authorize All".
      5. Authorize each computer you still have, as you may require.
You may only do this once per year.
After you "de-authorize all" your authorized computers, re-authorize each one as required.
If you have de-authorized all computers and need to do it again, but your year has not elapsed, then contact: Apple - Support - iTunes - Contact Us.
