Authorizing the computer for apps

I keep getting this warning, and when I authorize the computer...it still kicks me off and gives the next warning...
This computer is no longer authorized for apps that are installed on the iPod “Deborah Ash’s iPod”. Would you like to authorize this computer for items purchased from the iTunes Store
There was an error storing your authorization information on this computer.
The required file was not found or has a permissions error. Correct this permissions problem and try again, or deauthorize this computer if the permissions cannot be changed.

I have had issues with iTunes locking up when syncing, long sessions, beachball, failed syncing and such. Having to force quit iTunes to get out. All since upgrading to 10.7.3. Seems there are lots of issues. This morning I finnished backing out of 10.7.3 back to 10.7.2. And after restoring crucial datafiles and such that I did after 10.7.3 update I started syncs, more beachballs with itunes 10.5.3, and also now the same things you are getting and others have reported with authorizations. They seem to be related to files on the iTunes database from multiple devices (my grandsons ipod touches that were setup on this machine for christmas for example, and my wifes iPad). I tried using my own apple id and that is not what it wanted it wanted my grandsons id's for example. So I ignored and a couple games they had which had synced on my wifes iPad were deleted since I did not authorize for them again. I did also have issues with my own but then it says "oh you are already authorized for this machine"
Itunes seemed settled down a few hours later but time will tell now that I am back to 10.7.2 how much it is 10.5.3 iTunes and how much it is the new 10.7.3 OS

It is absolute garbage that I would need to erase this ipad. GARBAGE programing. Stupid, non-user friendly, dumb, idiotic (trying not to cuss here!)
There has to be a simplier way then transfer purchases (done), backup (done) then restore...any pray it all makes it back on the iPad?!

Did you not bring all your important data over from your old computer? Do you have a backup of the iTunes library that you can restore? If not, then its not to late, just more work that it should be.
You should be able to:
Backup the device to the new installation
Transfer your purchases into a newly authorized library
Recover any other media using third party tools as suggested in this post from forum regular Zevoneer
Restore the device from the backup
This process should switch the association of the device to the new library, preserving the data and settings in your apps.
May also be prudent to attempt a backup to iCloud directly from the device before you start... Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > iCloud Backup > On. It won't save any media but it would preserve the general account settings and documents in case anything goes wrong while you are trying to extract your other data.
When you get it all fixed, make a backup!

The key to all this is to click on/select/highlight the Album that you have created in Local Albums.
Then make sure that the Sort By: (in the row below the highlighted "Media" header is set for Album Order.
You should see a number at the top left of each of thumbnails.
Then, click on the thumbnail that you want to move, hold down the click, and drag the thumbnail to the wanted new location
in the line up of thumbnails.
Often I had to press down hard on the drag.
Please let us know if that worked for you.
Also, in Edit Menu/Preferences/Keyword Tags and Albums/Enable Manual Sorting Options, I set all for manual.

If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the dodgy tracks and try redownloading fresh copies. For instructions, see the following document:

Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the items that are not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the items, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items.

perhaps it would be less expensive to just install a new disk with a larger capacity on your current MacBook Pro, rather than plan on buying a new Mac with a larger disk? Once your current disk has been cloned to the new disk, and the new disk has been installed into your MacBook Pro, that would allow you to keep Photoshop 5 on your current MacBook Pro.

Why can't I back-up my apps before upgrade after I've authorized the computer?

I'm trying to update my dad's phone and it would not let me transfer his apps to this computer even after I have authorized the computer several times. ( its the third computer out of five. I was wondering if I was doing something wrong. There are 26 apps and I dont want to lose them all, I would like them to be backed up before I upgrade to ios 5.

Correct. When you update via iTunes all synced media that is not in your iTunes library will be lost.

In terms of searching i have searched for photos on my finder. However, none of the photos that appear are from my iPhoto Library.

Search for any file with "ThumbJPGSegment" in the name. If you added at least one image to your library, the library should contain a file with this name, see OldToad's post: Re: Since I updated to iPhoto 9.5.1, my library is not listed or available. You do see the devices heading on the left sidebar? If you don't see the sidebar, go to View>Show sidebar in the iTunes menu and then check to see if the device appears.
If that isn't the problem, go through the troubleshooting steps. It could be the Apple Mobile Device Service issue.

Download the free app My Contacts Backup and use it to back up the contacts on your device now (it will back them up as an attachment to an email that you send to yourself). Then restore your device to your most recent backup to see if it will recover your contacts. If not, if necessary you can open the email and tap the attachment to re-import the contacts you have now back to your device.
If you need to restore to an iCloud backup this has to be done in the initial setup process, which requires you to first erase your device. If you have any more recent data on your device now that is not in the backup that you want to save you'll need to do that first. Then go to Settings>General>Reset and tap Erase All Content and Settings. You will then go through the setup screens on your device, and when given the option, choose Restore from iCloud Backup (see image below). Be sure you are connected to wifi and your charger as this will take some time to finish.

I've switched over from Aperture to Lightroom, and i liked how in Aperture when i went to open "other library" it would basically scan all connected drives for them, and show me when last opened and what version. Is there a way to do this with Lightroom, either in program or by a third party app?

As JimHess stated, there is no risk working with the masters.
Chromatic aberation correction is available in Lightroom, searching the entire catalog is available in Lightroom.
With regards to your other comments, the idea that Lightroom should work the same (or very similar) to Aperture is one that you should remove from your thoughts. It will only get you into trouble. Lightroom is not Aperture and will not work the same, and has different underlying principles, and so its pointless to think you will be able to do everything the same way you did it in Aperture. You need to be open to Lightroom's features, and Lightroom's way of doing things. I agree with JimHess that it takes most people a while to learn Lightroom's way of doing things, but your patience will be rewarded.

Great question! You can absolutely do this in OS X 10.9. The attached article explains how the process of using AirPlay with Apple TV to create a second display. Also, towards the bottom of the article there are instructions on how to set your Displays preferences on the computer to make sure the TV and MacBook Pro displays are set up the way you want them to be.

Hey thanks for replying.
Here's what I did:
First I tried the Winsock reset in the Command prompt. Nothing changed.
Next, I tried the instructions on http://http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4123. The only other program that came up on the 'Winsock Providers' tab on the program was 2 Windows Live applications, which I can do without. So I deleted all Windows Live Applications.
I did the Winsock reset in the Command Prompt again and rebooted my comp.
Unfortunately, nothing has changed. iTunes keeps freezing at various stages of the sync, then shows the candy cane-striped bar with either the words 'Finishing sync' or 'Cancelling sync', before showing the Apple logo.
Sometimes, iTunes gets to the syncing stage - "Copying # of ####" - where it will trudge through the first, second and third tracks before flashing "Copying 4 of ####" for a split second and I catch "Cancelling sync" briefly before the Apple logo appears.
Again, I've repeated the steps I mentioned in my previous post. Does ANYONE know when the new version of iTunes is set to be released?! This one is driving me INSANE, to say the least!!

The sync is one way - computer to ipod. The only exception is itunes purchases.
The ipod is not a backup device.
You need to copy everything back using your backup copy.
