Authorware Runtime Error-Moodle Course

I am using Internet Explorer 7 and Authorware 7.01. I have a
course I am developing on CRTeacher.com a Moodle (course management
system) website. I have converted three Authorware pices to SCORM
compliant formats and I have uploaded them to my Moodle course.
Using AW map icon and frameworks I have created paging structures
for each of the three. Each of the three plays fine until I get to
a certain page and then I get the Runtime error message.
"Authorware Runtime has encountered an error and needs to
close."
Error signature
AppName: webplr.exe
AppVer:7.02.0
ModName: Unknown
ModVer: 0.0.0.0
Offset: 00000000
It then shuts down the AW piece I'm running. For each of the
three this problem occurs on the same page every time. The other
pages play fine. One of the three is a larger course with multiple
frameworks and actually includes the same information as the other
two smaller courses. My intent was to break the course into smaller
pieces so I could place them where I wanted them in the Moodle
course and then remove the larger course. The thing that seems
strange to me is that when I play the larger course the same pages
that cause the error in the smaller pieces work fine. A different
page causes the error in the larger piece.
Does anyone have any suggestions for resolving this problem?
Thanks.

Very odd, don't know...
Maybe try not-SWA? If you've A'ware 7.02, you should be able
to import
MP3s, which are pretty much the same thing as SWA... Or just
try a basic
.wav file to test? Or, just remove the audio entirely from
that section
to see if it is indeed the audio causing the problem...

    Is it a web application or a cbt?
    I developed cbt in german and there are no problems. But use

    security problems

  • Authorware Runtime Error

    I hope  you can provide an answer to our dilemma.  My wife purchased a Certification course from the Society of Human Resource Managers.  She installed it on her HP laptop (Vista) and when she went to run it, she got the following message:
    AUTHORWARE RUNTIME HAS STOPPED WORKING
    A problem cause the program to stop working correctly.
    Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is
    Available.
    She tried to run it in XP compatibility mode, tried to run in as Administrator, nothing worked.  We have two other computers, one a laptop and the other a desktop, both with Vista, Firefox and IE.  It loaded and launched on those computers.  Since these two have different purposes and content, this doesn't help my wife.  The only real difference in the three computers is that she runs Norton protection software.  She shut that down, but it still didn't work.  She emailed several people trying to find a solution and finally, a person sent her a batch file to run before reinstalling the program.  After running the batch file and reinstalling the program, she got to the signon screen - but the username and password fields weren't there.  Not only that, but she has to pull up Task Manager to shut the program down.  So, she is back to square one and the person who provided the batch file doesn't ahve a clue what is happening.
    Do you possilby have any more insight into why this is happening?  I see several items dealing with it, but never a definitive solution.  Thanks sfor anything you can come up with
    GregTal

    Hi Greg,
    I have seen something like this before in a package I was creating.  It was a while ago but I remember trying logging on as Administrator (which I see you have done).
    The second is a bit harder, check the Xtras are all in the Xtras folder and any Required DLL's and U32's are with the EXE.
    If you don't know which you need copy the list of what you have in this forum and ask everyone to have a look, someone might notice one is missing, or one too many.
    The following is an example of the types of files you should find, NOT the actual one's.
    It should look something like this in the Xtras Folder:
    JPEGIMP.X32
    MIX32.X32
    MIXVIEW.X32
    VIEWSVC.X32
    With the EXE should be:
    The Xtras Folder.
    Your EXE.
    DVD.DLL
    JS32.DLL
    MEMTOOLS.U32
    WINAPI.U32

  • Error: "Authorware Runtime has stopped working"

    I'm trying to fix a problem our students are having with an
    instructional CD that was made by Ivy Software. I'm getting an
    error "Authorware Runtime has stopped working". I have spent a
    considerable amount of time trying to diagnose and fix this
    problem.
    So far we have been unsuccessful getting it to work on a
    Lenovo factory (OEM) HDD image. It works fine on all other PCs
    running any OS and any version of IE. I’m providing some
    links to documentation I found that may be of help with the
    diagnosis, although none of these documents have solved the
    problem. I have also noticed that the web installation, the first
    link below, for the newest version of the Authorware Player errors
    out on the Lenovo image but works on other PCs. I have put a call
    into Adobe to get the distributable installer for this updated
    version, as described in the 13295 "Technote", but I'm not holding
    my breath. The Adobe support rep. said they would mail me an FTP
    location to dl this installer, "if they can find it". :-P
    It appears that there is no installation, the entire module
    runs directly from the CD and does not install anything to the HDD.
    The files on the CD utilize the Macormedia product called
    Authorware which comes as both a development program and an add-in
    for browsers. The error message we get when we autorun the CD is
    "Authorware Runtime has stopped working". It isn't clear to me
    exactally what it is running from the CD and or from the OS when
    displaying this Macromedia Authorware software CD, since the Task
    manager shows only "start.exe" running from the CD. Start.exe shows
    it is Macromedia Authorware 7.02 in its file properties.

    Update:
    We fixed the problem. If we add the AW7.ini file the program
    runs fine. We created a batch file to do this automatically. Here
    are the lines in the batch file for your later use/analysis...
    @echo off
    @echo .
    @echo .
    @echo Attempting to patch your system...
    @echo [MMXTechnology] > c:\windows\A7W.ini
    @echo MMXEnableCheck=1 >> c:\windows\A7W.ini
    @echo .

    @echo !!!!!!!!!!!!!
    @echo
    @echo PLEASE RUN THE PATCH AS ADMINISTRATOR
    @echo Click on the IVY Patch icon with your right mouse
    button.
    @echo From the menu that appears
    @echo select RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR.
    @echo
    @echo .
    @echo If you continue to have trouble, please contact
    JohnDoe:
    @echo [email protected]
    @echo (800)123-4567
    GOTO END
    :SUCCESS
    @echo PATCH APPLIED SUCCESSFULLY
    @echo You may now use the IVY Software.
    :END
    pause
    Normally, when the authorware exe file (start.exe) autoruns
    from the Ivy CD it writes the AW7.ini file to the
    "C:\Users\%UserProfile%\AppData\Roaming\Macromedia\Authorware 7"
    folder. On our systems that file does not get created. I've checked
    the permissions on the parent directories, even created these
    directories manually, and then copied the AW7.ini file to that
    location but the program still fails.
    Hope this helps someone else in the future.

  • Adobe Media Encoder CS4 runtime error

    I am wondering why I am getting a runtime error while
    attempting to use Adobe Media Encoder CS4...As soon as I launch
    Adobe Media Encoder CS4, it crashes I have installed and
    reinstalled Flash a couple time, to see if this corrects the
    problem, which it doesn't, and just last week it was working
    fine...Does anybody have a ideal what is going on?

    Don't know if this helps anyone else, bt the runtime errors i have been getting occur when I try to build and burn a blu-ray file. And they happen intermittently. In fact, on this project, I had burned several test blu-rays without difficulty. When I made one minor change on the penultimate version, and tried to burn again, the system crashed with a run time error. Then it crashed 9 more times over the course of the week.
    Finally in frustration, I created an interim ISO file in Encore- ie in the build workstream, i selected burn an image file rather than burning a blu-ray disk. After this intermediate step completed, i then did a separate burn in encore but burned from the image file. No snags.
    Not sure why but this program has trouble doing a sequence of activities. As it is, I already render and save the file before burning. Now I have another interim step to create an image file before burning.
    In my next hardware change, I am going to switch to make Mac and Apple software. Enough of MS Windows and Adobe, the GM and Chrysler of the software industry. Hopefully what my friends tell me is true; that Apple stuff actually works.

  • Runtime Error that Seems to be Related to Dialog Boxes

    Although I am currently taking a college course in Java and my code is based on a couple of questions from my Java textbook, I would like to make it perfectly clear that this is NOT homework. This is self-assigned for studying purposes and my professor will probably never see this, let alone grade it. Regardless, I suspect this to be a configuration-related issue as I had no such problems running this program in a Vista machine on campus. Assuming I am right, there shouldn't be any issue with any of this community's policies as I won't need to receive any "answer" code to solve this issue.
    In NetBeans, my program compiles and works fine, but produces a couple of runtime errors. Any idea what could be going on here?
    Here's my code:
    import java.util.Scanner;       // Needed for console input.
    import javax.swing.JOptionPane; // Needed for dialog boxes.
       This program performs the actions requested in questions 2.35 and 2.36 in the textbook.

  • ITunes 11.1.4 update failure. Runtime Error 6034

    I have had a complete nightmare today following an attempt to update iTunes 11.1.38 to 11.1.4 on my PC running Windows 7 Home Premium.
    These are the errors I encountered
    During installation the following messages were displayed ..
    Service 'Apple Mobile Device' (Apple Mobile Device) failed to start. Verify you have sufficient provileges to start system services.
    Whether I clicked Retry or Ignore, this message still appeared.
    Clicking Abort triggered a further message ...
    The Installer encountered errors before iTunes could be configured.  Errors occurred during the Installation.  Your system has not been modified.    Please run the installer again or click Finish to Exit
    Temporary relief, thinking that iTunes had been rolled back to the previous settings of version 11.1.38
    Running the installer again had exactly the same result.
    iTunes then failed to launch
    An attempt at launching the program triggered the following Error
    Runtime Error R6034    An application has made an attempt to load the C Runtime library incorrectly.  Please contact Application support team for more information.
    This is when I turned to this Forum for help and found the following advice in various posts which have solved the problem  Follow the steps in this article to completely remove iTunes from your PC   http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923
    If, like me, you are unable to uninstall Apple Mobile Device Support  Check this thread and follow the advice given by b_noir in the 4th post down, which is to download and run this tool  http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall    It takes its time so be patient, it did fix it for me.
    Reboot.
    Re Install iTunes  I chose to stick with version 11.1.38, which I knew worked.
    This worked for me, I hope it helps

    THE ABOVE or    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5376    WORKS AND IT IS FROM APPLE
    Basically it instructs you with a link to get a MS (MicrosoftFixit) software tool that wipes the registry, so you can do a clean install.
    Follow the instructions and it should be fine.
    I don't know why Apple is not putting this on the front page of itunes.com.  Of course they should post a new itunes that does not muck your 'puter, but I think if you tried already it is too late unless you fix what they effed.

  • Runtime errors are not showing in debugger!

    Hi,
    I have recently faced a very strange problem. at first I thought maybe it's because of the new Air SDK 15 build 302 but after switching back to older SDK the problem is still there! any idea or hint about this would be great. just tell me the first thing that comes to your mind and I will search about it more...
    the problem is that when I was testing my apps in debug mode (on Android or iOS) if there were a runtime error, the app used to stop and my IDE (I use FlashDevelop) could take me to the exact line were the error had occurred... and I could fix the bug. I've been doing this for many years of course! (I'm NOT a newbie)
    but in the past week, the debugger is not throwing errors any more! in some cases it does but on other runtime errors, it does not!
    this is not happening on my computer only, it is happening on another computer we have here too! that is so weird and annoying! not being able to see error messages is silly.
    My guess:
    I don't know if this can be related or not, but the project we're working on is huge and there are a lot of .as classes to be compiled, maybe the debugger is giving up on this project because of it's size? maybe I should switch some of the classes into swc?

    Sounds like the project somehow does not use the flash debug player but the standard flash player; I'm not familar with FlashDevelop but you should check if you are really using a debug player. You can do this programatically, too: flash.system.Capabilities.isDebugger

  • Flex 4.5.1 Setting VideoPlayer source to null when it is already null results in a runtime error

    I moved my project from Flex 4.1 to Flex 4.5.1 and I noticed that setting VideoPlayer source to null when it is already null results in a runtime error. The same thing applies to the case where you specified as a source url some invalid location (no video found there) and then you try to set the source to null.
    Here is the error:
    TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference.
        at spark.components::VideoDisplay/cleanUpSource()[E:\dev\4.5.1\frameworks\projects\spark\src \spark\components\VideoDisplay.as:1956]
        at spark.components::VideoDisplay/setUpSource()[E:\dev\4.5.1\frameworks\projects\spark\src\s park\components\VideoDisplay.as:1609]
        at spark.components::VideoDisplay/set source()[E:\dev\4.5.1\frameworks\projects\spark\src\spark\components\VideoDisplay.as:1073 ]
        at spark.components::VideoPlayer/set source()[E:\dev\4.5.1\frameworks\projects\spark\src\spark\components\VideoPlayer.as:1362]
    The problem is that in the VideoDisplay cleanUpSource function, in some of the cases there properties on the videoObject are modified like this:
    videoPlayer.displayObject.visible = true;
    without checking if displayObject is null which is done in the rest of the videoDisplay functions.
    So when it reaches this line: videoPlayer.displayObject.visible = true; it results in a runtime error.
    Is this supposed to work this way now ? I didn't have this problem on Flex 4.1. Not sure if it is a bug, but if it is please report it, I don't have the time right now to be checking in on this.
    I fixed it by checking if the source is set, of course... (that won't help me in cases where I provide a wrong or missing video url by mistake.. so it is important to be fixed!)

  • Runtime Errors STORAGE_PARAMETERS_WRONG_SET

    Hi,
    My functional team had run customized program in dialog, but after few minutes the error occured as below:-
    Runtime Errors STORAGE_PARAMETERS_WRONG_SET
    What happened?
    The current program had to be terminated because of an
    error when installing the R/3 System.
    The program had already requested 344148608 bytes from the operating
    system with 'malloc' when the operating system reported after a
    further memory request that there was no more memory space
    available.
    What can you do?
    Make a note of the actions and input which caused the error.
    To resolve the problem, contact your SAP system administrator.
    You can use transaction ST22 (ABAP Dump Analysis) to view and administer
    termination messages, especially those beyond their normal deletion
    date.
    Set the system profile parameters
    - abap/heap_area_dia
    - abap/heap_area_nondia
    to a maximum of 344148608. Then reduce the value by 10.000.000 to be on the
    safe side.
    Then restart the SAP System.

    If there is a temporary bottleneck, execute the transaction again.
    If the error persists, ask your system administrator to check the
    following profile parameters:
    o  ztta/roll_area            (1.000.000 - 15.000.000)
           Classic roll area per user and internal mode
           usual amount of roll area per user and internal mode
    o  ztta/roll_extension       (10.000.000 - 500.000.000)
           Amount of memory per user in extended memory (EM)
    o  abap/heap_area_total      (100.000.000 - 1.500.000.000)
           Amount of memory (malloc) for all users of an application
           server. If several background processes are running on
           one server, temporary bottlenecks may occur.
           Of course, the amount of memory (in bytes) must also be

    em/initial_size_MB:         (35-1200)
           Extended memory area from which all users of an

    I had check parameter value in RZ10 and below is the result:-
    1.abap/heap_area_dia = 2000683008
    2.abap/heap_area_dia = 2000683008
    3. ztta/roll_area = 2000896
    4.ztta/roll_extension   = 2000683008
    5.abap/heap_area_total   = 2000683008
    6.em/initial_size_MB = 20000
    I need advice on this.

    Hi,
    Your customized program execution is demanding more heap memory. It may be pointing to memory re-configuration.
    Please refer the following SAP Notes and compare your exiting memory parameter settings and do the adjustment according to the available RAM.
    [SAP Note 425207 - SAP memory management, current parameter ranges|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/425207]
    [SAP Note 88416 - Zero administration memory management as of 4.0A/ Windows|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/88416]
    Also analyze the execution of that Customized Program, weather the Coding is optimized, weather the program is executing any Expensive SQL Statement or not.
    Refer SAP Note 129813, one alternative is mentioned to deal with this memory related issue by activating 3GB feature in your existing Windows OS. Please refer Microsoft KB article 283037 and KB 268363 for the same. You will have to edit your boot.ini file to append /PAE switch.

        You may able to find an interim solution to the problem
        in the SAP note system. If you have access to the note system yourself,
        use the following search criteria:
        "TSV_TNEW_PAGE_ALLOC_FAILED" C
        "SAPLSBPT" or "LSBPTFXX"
        "DO_TBTCO_CONSISTENCY_CHECK"
        If you cannot solve the problem yourself and you wish to send
        an error message to SAP, include the following documents:
    1. A printout of the problem description (short dump)
       To obtain this, select in the current display "System->List->
       Save->Local File (unconverted)".
    2. A suitable printout of the system log
       To obtain this, call the system log through transaction SM21.
       Limit the time interval to 10 minutes before and 5 minutes
       after the short dump. In the display, then select the function
       "System->List->Save->Local File (unconverted)".
    3. If the programs are your own programs or modified SAP programs,
       supply the source code.
       To do this, select the Editor function "Further Utilities->
       Upload/Download->Download".
    4. Details regarding the conditions under which the error occurred
       or which actions and input led to the error.

    Hi Sunnetha,
    SM65 is a resource hungry tcode, and always suggested to run during a off-business hours. Try to run when there is not much acvitity going on in the system.
    I'm not very much sure, but please check how many entries there in TBTCO table. as the dump gives indication of
    DO_TBTCO_CONSISTENCY_CHECK.
    Check RSBTCDEL(2) program is running daily or not. This runs as a background job to delete the old job information from the tables TBTC*. If this has not run, then you can run and delete older job logs and then retry.
    Which system you're using? ECC or BW??
    Note - parameter settings of BW largely varies from that of a ECC system.
    Thanks,
    Debasis.

  • LSO_PSV2 - Create /w Resources freezing, ABAP runtime error, TIME_OUT

    Hello Experts,
    I have an individual user that is a part of a team that manages our LSO environment. He is experiencing a problem when performing a "Create with resources" on an instructor-led course.
    After choosing this option his session just spins but never enters the course details screen as expected.
    After anywhere from 15 - 30min the session returns an ABAP runtime error of "TIME_OUT". The error details state that the time out for ABAP programs is set to 3000sec (50min). The odd thing is that the program never reaches the 50 min marks but still throws the error.
    The user is able to select the "create w/o resources" option and get to the next screen as expected.
    I have run security traces (ST01) on his account and all looks fine (rc=0)
    He is one of several people that executes this transaction but is the only user that is receiving this issue. The team is assigned to the same position and shares the same PD profile. They share the same security roles and the same ABAP program is being run.These users are a third party vendor that remote in via citrix desktop.
    I have had our Basis team exam the ABAP runtime error and what is happening behind the scenes as this runs and they see no indication that the program is retrieving data even though it processes for a long time.
    Obviously this is a complex issue, I have searched for two weeks with no success. Any thoughts, suggestions are more than welcome at this point as the user is unable to perform needed work functions.

    Any solution on this one? I have the same problem with LSO_PSV2 :/

  • NI Variable Engine (tagsrv.exe) Runtime Error Dialog Upon Restart -- Resolved

    After installing LabVIEW 2009, I started getting an error dialog when I restarted, and shared variables stopped working.  So, I figured I'd post what I did to resolve it.
    For forums searchability, here's the text:
    Dialog Window Title:
    Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
    Dialog Window Text:
    Runtime Error!
    Program: ...gram Files\National Instruments\Shared\Tagger\tagsrv.exe
    This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
    Please contact the application's support team for more information
    =======
    Here's the dialog:
    I also noticed that the NIVE (National Instruments Variable Engine) service timed out when I manually tried to stop it.
    So, I:
        * Closed out of everything, opened Distributed System Manager 2009, and removed all processes (except for "System", of course)
        * Restarted the PC
    Visual C++ Runtime error is gone!

    Sorry to hear that.  I've been there a few times myself.  While you're going through that process, consider uninstalling EVERYTHING NI through Control Panel » Add Remove Programs.  Running msiBlast (attached below) can clean out anything you missed.
    As a last resort, you could call NI support (if you have support) and at least allow them to probe around.  At a minimum, they can document this internally so maybe it's fixed at some point.  If you go that route, request a CAR number and post it back here if they give you one.

  • Jquery in background task JavaScript runtime error: 'window' is undefined

    How do we access the window variable in backgroundtasks ?
    i need to use jquery and i get  JavaScript runtime error: 'window' is undefined

    It looks like jQuery is not written to be used from a web worker--or else you need a variant that is. This is because the global context in a background task written in JavaScript is
    WorkerGlobalScope (see
    http://www.w3.org/TR/workers/#workerglobalscope) not window, so window
    isn't defined.
    You might be able to work around a situation like this, depending on what is needed from
    window. (I'm assuming jQuery is trying to initialize its UI libraries, in which case you probably won't be able to do that from a worker/background task. They can't do UI directly.)
    If you need something from window, specifically, your running app, when it registers the background task, could also write the necessary values into the
    Windows.Storage.ApplicationData.localSettings container as background tasks can access that at any time.
    It could be possible, then, to write the necessary values from window
    into local settings, then create a window object and populate it with those values before loading jQuery. It'd be a hack, but might get you where you need to be.
    That said, because there are limitations on what you can do from a background task, and how long you can run, you might ask whether jQuery is really buying you anything in that context. I can't say, of course, but it's a reasonable question to ask before
    trying this kind of workaround.
