Authplay.dll still here after quarterly??

Hi,
despite this announcement
http://blogs.adobe.com/asset/2012/04/background-on-security-bulletin-a psb12-08.html
even  in the Acrobat 9.5.1 folder I am still seeing the dangerous file authplay.dll with the old flash 10.3!!!!
why???
You did announce that 9.5.1 will share the flash from the OS!!
I am worried,
thanks a lot in advance for your suggestions.
best regards,

Good day,
I have confirmed with David Leone, the author of that blog post that:
Authplay.dll will continue to be installed and used for trusted content only (i.e., for Adobe-generated content, like UI elements). So you’ll continue to see it as part of the install.
What this means is that embedded Flash content that users add to their PDF files will render with the Flash Player from the OS, not the authplay.dll component installed with Acrobat.
Please let us know if you have any additional questions.
Kind regards,
David

  • Upgraded new iPad to iOS 5 after successfully using the machine for two weeks. The apps I downloaded are still here, checked for updates, all okay. However, when I try to use iBooks app or even USA Today, icon shakes, settles down then nothing. Help.

    Upgraded new iPad to iOS 5 after successfully using the machine for two weeks. The apps I downloaded are still here, checked for updates, all okay. However, when I try to use iBooks app or even USA Today, icon shakes, settles down then nothing else happens. Several tries, settings appear correct. Suggestions? Safari operates correctly, music icon matches (not from iTunes, simply music on my MacPro and iPod). Is Cloud the issue, perhaps? But everything worked before the upgrade. Using my home network. Hope this info suffices. Appreciate any guidance.

    Problem solved. Saw the solution in a more recent post. Downloaded a free app, then all my other apps started to work again.

  • Flash Pro (CS3) will not open after file 'AuthPlay.dll" removed from Acrobat 9.

    A recent Adobe security issue recommened removal of 'AuthPlay.dll' from Acrobat Pro v9x.  When trying to open Flash Pro (CS3) the program throws an error " The AuthPlay.dll/Lib is missing from the configurration folder" and the program will not run.  Anyone know of a workaround or a way to open Flash Pro without the dll in question?

  • Adobe Media Encoder CC 7.2.0.43 still crashes after beginning of encoding - bugs for months now!

    Adobe Media Encoder CC 7.2.0.43 is still crashing after beginning of encoding! In my case this bug exists for months now and Adobe is not able to get rid of its own programming faults! The user pays a lot of money for the license and doesn't get a functioning software! I spent days to get a solution now, but NOTHING of your suggested help works!
    This is my 'support' history beginning in AUGUST (!):
    Sent: Thursday, August 15, 2013 ...
    Subject: Bug Report
    Product: Adobe Media Encoder
    Product Version: CC
    Operating System : Windows 7
    OS version: Service P1
    Concise problem statement: Steps to reproduce bug:
    1. Go to Premiere Media Export
    2. Stating Media Export Parameters for ME
    3. Starting ME
    4. Define video title and path
    5. Start Media Encoder CC rendering
    6. ME states 'Preview not available'
    7. Rendering aborts after about 15 sec.
    8. Media Encoder CC crashes, no matter which kind of video! Every time.
    9. Direct 'Export' from Premiere CC is possible with all the same parameters, but CC AME crashes!
    10. Also installed Premiere CS 6 Media Encoder WORKS without any problems, but not the CC Media Encoder!!
    Expected results: Media Encoder CC WORKING. This is still my expected result as a paying customer!
    My steps to solve these problems (with Adobe's help) were / are:
    - Cleant every suggested media cashes.
    - Tried to render the sequences also without audio.
    - Tried to render as one pass.
    - Even if I try just to export ONE simple standard SONY PMW EX1 mp4 file which should never cause problems it chrashes, also without audio.
    - Also if I clean all preferences and caches before, EVERY file type crashes, no matter if I try to export a video or a still picture.
    - This is not happening in Adobe AME CS6 with the same files, but in CC!! CS6 still renders reliably with preview, but CC crashes without being able to show any preview.
    - Held the Shift key down while starting AME. This should reset preferences and so on...
    - Deleted suggested "7.0" directories as described in other forum posts concerning this topic.
    - Logged out of my CC account.
    - Deinstalled and reinstalled PPro, After Effects, InDesign, Flash, using Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool. All is the newest version 7.2.
    - Set GPU renderer to "Software Only".  Some video cards have issues when GPU is set to "OpenCL" or "CUDA".
    - Checked updates available for video driver. Latest is installed.
    - Turned off "Enable Native Premiere Pro sequence import" in AME prefs.
    - AMEEncodingErrorLog.txt doesn't have any content, not a single line.
    NOTHING WORKED OR HELPED!

    Hello Oddsbodkin,
    It looks like the creator of Netflix Desktop has a site for the project here:

  • How do I uninstall SyncMate Server, Activity Monitor shows it still there after appzapper uninstall of SyncMate app? Killing in AM proceeds with a SyncMate Server startup again??

    How do I uninstall SyncMate Server, Activity Monitor shows it still there after appzapper uninstall of SyncMate app? Killing in AM proceeds with a SyncMate Server startup again??
    Mavricks, MacbookPro, typical config of everything and standard business user, no heavy graphics, animation or media editing. MS Office, web apps, etc.
    I have the same issue with Logmein, which I installed a trial, uninstalled with appzapper, which I thought does a good job of untangling the components of apps but for these 2 it doesn't.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thx,

    Usually applications like these have their own uninstallers, either build into the installer ( ! ) itself or as a separate uninstaller app. Check the site of the software provider for instructions.
    Here's the instructions for SyncMate: http://wiki.eltima.com/user-guides/syncmate-mac-os/uninstall.html

  • TS1717 msvcr80.dll now missing after trying to download latest itunes 14

    msvcr80.dll now missing after downloading latest update, how do I get this back???
    Have tried Regcure Pro and that didn't work, either did restoring to an earlier point

    Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

  • Parameter field still editable after setting flag 'PropFlags_NotEditable'?

    Hi,
    Parameter field still editable after setting flag ‘PropFlags_NotEditable’?
    I have defined a step type with a string parameter. (MyParameter). This parameter field has to contain custom generated data, stuffed from a code module.
    I want to have ‘MyParameter’ read only for all instances of the step in my sequence.
    I have set the property flag ‘PropFlags_NotEditable’ for ‘MyParameter’ in my step type definition, because I want to have this parameter read only in all instances.
    When I try to edit ‘MyParameter’ field in an instance of the step in the sequence in the variable pane ‘Step’ - ‘MyParameter’, it still works?
    What is wrong here, I suppose this should work?
    Best regards

    1) Make sure you have show hidden properties turned on in the station options, preferences tab.
    2) In your step type expand the variables to the place where the expression is stored for the parameter argument. In the .NET adapter this would be something like the following:TS.SData.Call.Params[0].ArgVal. Right-click on ArgVal and select the Properties menu item.
    3)  Click on the advanced button and select flags.
    4) When the edit flags dialog pops up, click on the Type Flags button.
    5) Check the PropFlags_NotEditable flag for the Instance Default Flags section. Click OK on this dialog.
    6)  If you want the change to effect currently open instances I think checking the "Reset Flags... " checkbox on the edit flags dialog will do this, otherwise this change will only effect new instances of your step type. Press ok on the remaining dialogs.
    7) New instances will now not allow editing that value. NOTE: This only works for the sequence editor module panel though. It does not work for the dialog version used by the user-interfaces.
    One thing I want to make sure you are aware of for step types is that using a default code module like this has drawbacks versus using postsubsteps. Setting the default code module doesn't keep the user from changing the specification after they insert the step, also updating existing steps if you want to change the prototype is more problematic. You might be better off with a design more like the step types that ship with teststand like the message popup step type (which also ship with source code so you can see how they are implemented) which instead use post-substeps and edit-substeps and instead designate the none adapter for the step type so that the step type can never have a code module. What they do instead is their edit substeps display a dialog that gets the settings/parameters to the operation that the step type performs and stores those as subproperties of the step. Then at runtime the post-substep gets this information and executes the necessary code. Unlike the default code module setting, changing the substeps in a step type automatically effects all existing instances of the step. Changing the code module only effects new instances, and loaded instances if you check the checkbox for that.
    Hope this helps,
    -Doug

  • My iphone 5 screen is black but touch works and i can screenshot but screen is still black after restore what should I do?

    and i can screenshot but screen is still black after restore what should I do, could it be a loose cable in the phone under the metal shield?

    Hello Dopeslayer242,
    Thank you for providing the details of the issue you are experiencing with your iPhone.  I would be concerned too if I only saw a black screen.
    I recommend following steps 2-6 below for an issue like this:
    If a single application is not responding or stops responding when it opens, you can force it to close.
    If the device is unresponsive or if certain controls aren't working as expected, restart your device.
    If the device remains unresponsive or does not turn on (or power on),reset your device.
    If there is no video or if the screen remains black, verify that the device has enough charge to turn on:
    If you are using an iPad, ensure that it's connected to the USB Power Adapter supplied with the device.
    Let charge for at least twenty minutes, then see if it starts normally.
    If there is no image on the screen, press the Sleep/Wake button to attempt to wake the device.
    If the screen displays a red battery icon, continue charging the device until the battery is fully charged.
    If the above steps do not resolve the issue, or the if the screen remains black or shows a persistent Apple logo, try restoring with iTunes:
    Connect the device to your computer and open iTunes.
    If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane. Learn more about restoring iOS software.
    If the device doesn't appear in iTunes, try to force the device into recovery mode, and then restore it.
    If the above steps do not resolve the issue, contact Apple.
    You can find the full article here:
    iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3281
    If you get to step 5, I recommend backing up your iPhone before performing the restore:
    iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766
    Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Best,
    Sheila M.

  • Is thread still active after main method exits?

    Hi All,
    Yesterday we were discussing. wether it is possible for a thread to be active even after the main method, from which it was spawned, exits.
    any comments?

    Hello,
    If you start a thread from the main() method and then return from main(), the thread will remain running. Just try it out:
    public class Test
        implements Runnable
        public static void main(String[] args)
            Thread t = new Thread(new Test());
            t.start();
            System.out.println("Returning from main()");
        public void run()
            try
                Thread.sleep(5000);     // Wait for 5 seconds
                System.out.println("Hello, I'm still here!");
            catch (InterruptedException ie)
                ie.printStackTrace();
    }Note: If you exit main() using System.exit(), all threads will be killed!

  • Cakewalk DAW process still runs after exit the Application (ntdll!NtWaitForSingleObject+0xa on wdmaud!CWAVRenderer::FreeResources+0x8f)

    Hi All,
    Have this issue with wdmaud driver after I close the application the process will appear to shutdown however if I try and start up a new instance of it it doesn't load.
    When I check task manager I see the process still running...
    I dumped the process and ran a finger print analysis over it and see the following:

    I've run this by the folks from Cakewalk forums and had some suggestions to try but to no avail.
    http://forum.cakewalk.com/sonarstdexe-still-runs-after-I-close-and-exit-program-m2960813.aspx
    There is nothing on this in google that I can find "wdmaud!CWAVRenderer::FreeResources+0x8f"
    Just wondering if there is anything I can do to see if I can fix my system, others in the forum can't replicate this issue...
    Would re-installing the audio driver help?  I don't want to do this unless I have to or if there are any other suggestions to try...
    Thanks in Advance
    Jim

  • Memory still occupied after removeallobjects and release NSMutableArray

    Hi Guys,
    I am trying to read in a file to a NSString and then creat a NSMutableArray to store the contents divided by "\n". However, after release the array, it looks like the memory still not released on iphone simulator. The memory was increasing to 20MB after alloc the array and was still occupied after releasing the array. The memory of NSString can be released no problem. No memory leaks.
    Any help will be appreciated.
    //read in test.txt
    NSString *defaultDBPath = [[[NSBundle mainBundle] resourcePath] stringByAppendingPathComponent:@"test.txt"];
    NSError *error;
    NSString *testtest = [[NSString alloc] initWithContentsOfFile:defaultDBPath encoding:NSASCIIStringEncoding error:&error];
    NSMutableArray *Rna = [[NSMutableArray alloc] initWithArray: [testtest componentsSeparatedByString:@"\n"]];
    [testtest release];
    //remove all temp arrays
    [Rna removeAllObjects];
    [Rna release];

    I have tried on device. It was same result. The reason should be that the autorelease array was not released yet. I even tried aurorelease pool, but no luck. Here are more codes:
    1. In app Delegate, I initial a MyViewController.
    - (void)applicationDidFinishLaunching:(UIApplication *)application {
    // Override point for customization after app launch
    MyViewController *aViewController = [[MyViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"ControllerView" bundle:[NSBundle mainBundle]];
    self.myViewController = aViewController;
    [aViewController release];
    UIView *controllersView = [myViewController view];
    [window addSubview:controllersView];
    [window makeKeyAndVisible];
    - (void)dealloc {
    [myViewController release];
    [window release];
    [super dealloc];
    2. In MyViewController, I have a function linked to a button.
    - (IBAction)RnaRns:(id)sender
    NSString *defaultDBPath = [[[NSBundle mainBundle] resourcePath] stringByAppendingPathComponent:@"rna.crs"];
    NSError *error;
    NSString *testtest = [[NSString alloc] initWithContentsOfFile:defaultDBPath encoding:NSASCIIStringEncoding error:&error];
    NSArray *Rnaarray = [[testtest componentsSeparatedByString:@"
    "] autorelease];
    [testtest release];
    I wondered the Rnaarray could be only released when the MyViewController was released. I did try put - (IBAction)RnaRns:(id)sende in an object, then initial it in MyViewController and use the function . Then released the object. However, the Rnaarray was still not released. So the real question is how we make sure the autorelease is released and when. Autoreleasepool is not working for this case as well. I cannot afford losing these memory on iphone. Thanks.

  • In firefox 4 RC, some addons installed suddenly disappear, but checking the profile, some of the missing addons related files are still here, how to make the addons back?

    I use firefox 4 form beta 9 to RC (zh) now and there are also firefox 3.6 installed in computer. One day when I open Fx 4 RC, some (actually a lot but not all) of the adoons just disappear. When I check on about:addons page, some addons installed do not appear in the list.
    The addons '''REMAINED''' including:
    * addons I already used in Fx 3.6 (like webmail notifie , xmarks)
    * ''addons only can use in Fx 4'' (like Open Web Apps for Firefox).
    The addons '''DISAPPEARED''' including:
    * addons I already used in Fx 3.6 (like yoono)
    * '' addons installed when using Fx 4'' (like updatescanner, Thumbnail Zoom).
    But when I check the profile(by Help > Troubleshooting Information>Open Containing Folder) , some (not sure is it all) of the missing addons related files are still here [lucky], so any one know how to make the missing addons back?
    Some more details:
    * This happened when i use RC for already a few days and keep on even i restart Fx and windows.
    * The bookmarks, history, search engine and even themes and icon setting are still here. [ I only sync bookmarks but not history for both xmarks and firefox sync.]
    * This addons are really '''disappeared''' but not disable only!
    * This number of addons missed, as i remember, at least 30, should be more than that number bacause some of them are installed but in disable mode.
    * I try to install back one of the addons - Stylish, the installed code are still here.
    * It is nearly an impossible mission to install every missing addons again, as it really kill my time.

    Delete the files extensions.* (extensions.rdf, extensions.cache, extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox [[Profiles|profile folder]] to reset the extensions registry. New files will be created when required.
    See "Corrupt extension files": http://kb.mozillazine.org/Unable_to_install_themes_or_extensions
    If you see disabled, not compatible, extensions in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" then click the Tools button at the left side of the Search Bar to do a compatibility check.
