You posted this in the OSX 10.4 forum but your computer profile says you are running OSX 10.6.8 Which system version you are running makes a big difference.

Me too! And apparently I have a problem with creating my own posts... but perhaps you can help me out if you could please?
I am in Japan and itunes won't let me buy music here with my usual credit card because that is linked to a bankaccount in Australia. However, I can easily go into a music store here and use my card there? It ***** that this is not so straightforward! I'm here for a year and would like to download music from both Australia and Japan and wherever else in the world for that matter. Getting help on this matter is impossible becuase it is not entirely 'technical' but it is for me very technical! I can search for any American singer on the Australian itunes music store but none from any other countries?? If this service is available I would be sure to make heaps of purchases. I want a global music store and I thought itunes was it but apparently not...

Problems with iTunes Version 6

Please forgive me if this is a repeat of any kind. I searched on this issue and received way too many responses (mostly irrelevant!). When I try to launch certain radio stations in Version 6. It is sometimes difficult to even bring th station up. I sometimes have to click a dozen times to launch a station. Also, there is no meta data in the Player Window for may of the stations. I have a friend who has Version 4 and everything works great! The same stations I have trouble launching in Version 6, start right up in his Version 4.Also, meta data in that version 4 works for ALL stations!Does anyone know how to resolve these problems?

You might want to experiment with the buffer size settings to improve radio reliability. The settings are in iTunes Preferences -> Advanced tab. Try each of the possible "Streaming buffer" sizes to see if any of them reduce the frequency.
Also, make sure your QuickTime Connection Speed is one setting lower than the rate claimed for your Internet link. This setting is in QuickTime Control Panel, exit iTunes before changing the setting.

Hy leute ich hoffe ich finde wieder hier jemanden der deutsch kann
ich hab das problem das wenn cih mein Iphone anstecke per usb und mich mit dem Itunes verbinden will steht da links nicht mehr mein name sondern nur iPhone und das ich kein funktionen habe das cih daten (fotos musik, etc) rüberspeichern mehr kann...
ich hoffe mir kann hier wer helfen

Problem downloading itunes version 10.5

I can't upgrade the software on my ipod Touch because I keep getting an installer error message when trying to upgrade to the latest version of itunes. Anyone else have this problem or can direct me to a solution? Thank you!

Add to playlist problem on iTunes version 11.0.1 (12)?

Have tried adding various songs to various playlists on iTunes. No song was added to the selected playlists. These are existing playlists to which I have previously been able to add songs.
I tried rebooting. Same result.
Any ideas about how to proceed?

Thanks. That would be another way to do it. The method that was not working for me was right clicking on the song and then selecting "Add to playlist" from the popup menu.
Apple Care first had me try dragging and dropping the song to a popup list of playlists. That worked too.
To try to repair the right click method they had me remove a certain "plists" file from the library. It repopulated the playlists when iTunes was restarted but did not solve the problem.
The next suggestion was to delete and reinstall the operating system. I declined that invitation.
I'm satisfied dragging/dropping or now copying/pasting songs to playlists.

ich habe einen dell xps laptop und versuche vergeblich itunes darauf zu installieren
ich bekomme immer die statusmeldung, dass ein windows installer paket betreffendes problem vorliegt.
ich brauche das itunes aber dringen da ich seit gestern(JUHUU) ein iphone 4s besitze.
ich würde mich sehr über eine schnelle antwort freuen...

Beim Synchronisieren von Hörbüchern und Videos passiert bei mir laufend folgendes. Itunes Synchronisiert und Synchronisiert ohne zum Ende zu kommen. Kennt jemand das Problem?

Problem mit iTunes 10.5 (verzerrtes Abspielen von mp3)

Ich habe iTunes 10.5 heruntergeladen (Windows XP). Alle iTunes Files werden einwandfrei abgespielt. Aber alle anderen mp3 files sind nur sehr stark verzerrt zu hören. (Habe iTunes jetzt zwei mal entfernt und wieder neu geladen. Ohne Ergebnisverbesserung.) Die upgrades waren in den letzten fast 10 Jahren immer einwandfrei aufgespielt worden. Was mache ich falsch?

I managed to fix a similar issue on Mac OS X:
"I am running 10.5.8 on an iMac 27 with a 2.66GHz i5 processor and got the same side-effects after I moved up to iTunes 10.5. Th e problem also continued when I downgraded to 10.4.1 as well, straight afterwards. However, I managed to resolve it fairly quickly in this way:
Opened the Activity Monitor, and looked at the processes taking most resources.
The one that leapt out at the top, if ordered by % CPU, was "ShockWave Flash (Chrome Plug-in Host)".
So, I closed down Chrome and noted that it was still there. Thus, I sent a force quit to it and waited for it to die. I then re-opened iTunes and the annoying stuttering had gone. I've now got Chrome and this plug-in open and it has not returned. I suspect the issue may frequently be caused by a plug-in like this causing resource contention, but I can't say for sure as I've only seen this once.
My advice would be to close down, one by one, as many apps as you can and constantly review activity ordered by CPU in Activity Monitor. If you think you can safely quit the process then do so and retry iTunes. If you're not sure, then gracefully shutdown and look again. Bear in mind, the problem may be launching at startup. Before shutting down, review your Login Items in System Prefs->Accounts->"My Account"->Login Items. Remove anything you can live without. You can always add them back in. If you manage to spot conflicting software then you can look for a patch or upgrade, but at least be aware that it does not play well with iTunes and thus quickly fix your issue."
May be you can follow a similar process on Windows? I would target your suspicions towards Adobe and Google components :-) !!!

Ich habe Probleme mit der neuesten Itunes Version: nach dem Laden komme ich nicht mehr ins Internet. Ich habe es mehrfach versucht, hatte früher nie Probleme und kann nur wieder ins Netz, indem ich die Systemwiederherstellung nutze.

Nach dem Laden der neuen iTunes-Version komme ich nicht mehr ins Internet. Das geht jetzt so seit ca. 3 Monaten, ich habe auch bereits neuere Versionen abgewartet, aber es hilft nichts. INstallation klappt, iTunes läuft dann auch, aber mit dem INternet geht dann nichts mehr, Fehlerhinweis: Verbingen nicht möglich.
Wer kann helfen?!

Habe dasselbe Problem. Nach Update iTunes und Installation von iCloud friert iTunes bei der Anmeldung ein, lässt sich manchmal gar nicht aufrufen oder bleibt mitten in der Anwendung hängen. De- und Neuinstallation helfen nicht. Selbst im abgesicherten Modus stürzt iTunes ab. Apple hilft ja leider nicht gern. Support dauert 72 Stunden oder man bezahlt. Gibt es Hilfe?

Nach dem update wurden die Telefonkontakte mit denen meiner Frau überschrieben. Gibt es irgendeine Möglichkeit, diese wiederherzustellen? Auf dem Laptop habe ich noch eine alte itunes-Version, dort gibt es noch ein altes Backup. Sind sie da gespeichert?

Nach dem iOs 5 update wurden meine Telefonkontakte mit denen meiner Frau überschrieben, die ihr iphone zuvor synchronisiert hat. Gibt es eine Möglichkeit, diese wieder herzustellen? Auf dem Laptop haben wir noch eine ältere itunes Version gefunden, mit dem letzten Backup. Kommt man darüber evtl wieder an die Kontakte? Problem ist, dass ich eine Fehlermeldung bekomme wegen der älteren itunes-Version. Wenn ich diese aber jetzt aktualisiere, dann sind die alten Backups auch mit weg, oder?

There certainly is a problem with itunes. I downloaded 9.2 and now it won't open. It won't recognize my iphone, either. I uninstalled it in the order recommended by the site, no joy. Deleted a configuration file, no joy. System Restore, no joy. All other software and hardware on the machine is working fine. I call AppleCare AND a local store, either they are completely clueless (which I doubt), or they have no idea how to fix it. I can't even back up my phone, or use the ipod. And since no one at Apple seems to care enough, I'll have to wait until the clamor is loud enough for them to even admit to a problem before I can use the ipod again.
