Auto-Brightness Issue. It randomly worked, then stop working all together.

Auto-Brightness Issue.
It randomly worked before, now it's not giving off any brightness at all. Unfortunately it stopped coming on all together. I tried updating it Itunes and it comes back on but tried to restore my Ipod touch. After restoring it, it said "restore error -50" and the backlight STILL doesn't come on, not even a flicker. PLEASE HELP!!!

Okay I tried to restore using iTunes and a little screen came up stating: An error occured while restoring this iPod (-50). I don't know what that means. It still ask do I want to continue to restore, but always gives me that same message. To make matters even worse, there is no Apple store in my town. The nearest is 3 hours away.

I signed out of the app manager and when I signed back in all my info was gone and only "TRIAL VERSIONS" of CC apps were available. I paid for this software. I need to be able to download it again.

Wow, Karan Taneja, you've just embarrassed yourself on a worldwide support forum.  Not only is your post ridiculous and completely inappropriate for a technical support forum, but it also shows your ignorance as to whom you think the audience is.  Apple is not here.  It's users, like you.
If you would have spent half the time actually reading the Terms of Use of this forum that YOU agreed to by signing up to post, as you did composing that usesless, inappropriate post, you (and the rest of us on this forum) would have been much better off.

  • Auto brightness still doesn't work after update my ipad 3 on ios 6.1

i actually can see the slider moves right and left when i temporary cover the sensor with a finger BUT when i place ipad under really bright light (the slider moves to the right completely) and then to the dark place it DOESN'T move to the left. i've just let it stay in a dark room for 5 minutes - NOTHING.
What the **** when apple going to fix that?

I have the exact same problem. Just did the 6.1 update from 6.0.1 and still no fix (iPad 3).
Once the back light brightness hits it's set value acording to the measured amount of light hitting the sensor, the screen brightness locks and stays on that level. You can verify it for yourself with a flashlight. The screen never goes completely dark either. It's super annoying. Set and forget? Auto brightness just doesn't work at all. Auto distraction at it's finest.

    Do this first:

Then whoever gets the phone just sets things up again using their Apple ID.

  • I can't make or take phone calls, but i can message and use data. Has this happened to anyone else? I've gone through three Samsung Galaxy S5's in the past three days, two of which have this problem and one just stopped working all together.

My phone doesn't have any cellular phone functions...but it CAN send text messages and access data. Has this happened to anyone else? I've gone through three Samsung Galaxy S5's in the past three days, the last two have this problem and the first stopped working all together. I've had new sim cards put in, ive done hard resets on the phone, i've rebooted the phone, done battery pulls, and tech support has reset the signal to my phone. Nothing has worked. (I just "upgraded" <- lol.... and my old phone IS turned off.)

Im in 79707. So to recap my whole case: I upgraded my device using the verizon wireless website. I received my phone and switched my old SIM card from my Droid Razr Maxx HD into the new Galaxy S5. Everything worked fine until the next morning (May 31st) when I woke up and the phone wouldn't turn on. I took the phone to the local Verizon store and they were also unable to turn it on. They issued me a new Galaxy S5 (referred to as phone 2) and switched my SIM card into that one.
With PHONE 2 i was able to make calls and receive calls, along with text and data for approximately four hours. After that, i was unable to use the phone function of the device, but text and data were still functioning. I took PHONE 2 back to the Verizon store where they attempted to hard reset the phone twice, they also installed two new SIM cards at the store. After this they would get the same error, which is the phone just reading "Dialing..." after attempting to make a call. The Verizon associate declared the phone "DOA" and issued me another Galaxy S5 (referred to as PHONE 3).
PHONE 3 worked well, with phone text and data featured intact from when I received it on the after noon of the 31st until approximately 2:30PM on June 1st. I contacted Verizon Tech Support via Gmail phone to attempt the correct the problem. They reset the connection, had me do a battery pull, had me close the "phone" application, and erase the data and catche, then restart the phone. All of which had no effect. My phone is still able to receive texts and use data (even with wifi off) it simply cannot make or take phone calls. all it says is "dialing..." when I attempt to make a call. When other phones call my device it rings once on their end and directs them to voicemail, PHONE 3 does not ring on my end.
I have made sure my old phone is completely powered down.

  • After installing Mavericks my email isn't allowing me to draft a new message. I can see my messages, but cannot create a new message or reply to any messages. When I try nothing happens, then Mail freezes all together.

I can see my messages, but cannot create a new message or reply to any messages.
When I try nothing happens, then Mail freezes all together and usually crashes.
I was able to get into my Mail settings and everything looks ok as far as I can tell.
Has anyone else seen this? My software is completely up to date now (unfortunately).
Thanks in advance for any help or advice.

    Do a backup.
    Quit Mail.
Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J.  When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder. Go to Library/Containers/com.apple.mail.  Move the folder com.apple.mail to your desktop. You must move the entire folder, not just the contents.
Restart, re-launch Mail and test. If the problem is solved, recreate any required Mail settings and import any emails you want to save from the folder on the desktop. You can then put the folder in the Trash. If the problem remains, return the folder to where you got it replacing the one that is there.

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync all music and resync
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up

  • IPad's Auto-Brightness Issue

It simply does not appear to work. Even when I go from a room with good sunlight to a completely dark closet/room/restroom/etc. I do not see the screen dim or become brighter.

Most likely it's NOT broken. It's just the way the sensor works. It only really checks ambient light when you slide to unlock. To test this, place your thumb on top of the sensor and unlock the iPad. You should notice that the screen goes dim and if you move your thumb from the sensor it should brighten.
To me it seems like the screen will always brighten if the room gets brighter but it doesn't like dimming when you go into a dark room unless you just unlocked the device.
At first I thought my sensor was broken too but then i did testing and figured out how to test it.

I have a yellow (some call it neon green) iTouch 5th Gen 32GB. I was watching something when my music randomly played. Afterwards, it stopped. Suddenly, it kept playing again! Then it kept repeating on off on off. How do I stop this?!?!? It's really annoying.

  • PPRO cs5.5 just stopped working all together. Many attempts to reach out to community with no response... please help!

I have enjoyed using Adobe PPRO 5.5 for a couple of years. It seemed to work flawlessly untill about two weeks ago.
Now differnt  issues arrise everytime I open the program up. The same issue never happens twice.
However I have tried every day to create and render a simple project and not once have I been successful using tried and true methods.
    issues are as follows :
    1. Won't import files... wmv, mt2s , mov.... Just a complete freeze, then black screen (must hard restart)
    2. Sometimes it will import the files  (wmv, mt2s, Mov,) but multi cam editing is useless due to lagging issues.
    3. when I can get it to import a file, it will not render that file... I click render and it just Freezes up... goes to black screen (must hard restart)
    4. Some times when I hit import files, I get an ewrror saying : files are not compatable format (yet they are files I hae used in the past that have always worked)
the quirkiness makes for a hard issue to ask about. I have written in these community forums several times with these same issues and have yet to get one response .... ??? Is adobe still in Business ???
    my gear : Dell studio xps 435 mt , vista 64 bit, i7    2.6ghz,  8gb ddr3 memory , ati radian 4800 series , panasonic ag-hmc150, nikon d5200
steps I have taken to correct :
OPened up hundreds of gigs on hard drive, disk defrag, disk clean up, registry clean, windows defender in full action...
Can some one please help? Or is it time to go mac and final cut pro?

perhaps it may be time for me to upgrade, but gosh to go from one day working perfect to the next day not working at all? I would find it highly unlikely that would be the issue. my computer is running current i7 chip, 2.6ghz ... exactly how is this out dated? perhaps vista but seriously would hate to dump money into windaow 8 and find there is still an issue with adobe.... is there perhaps some options you may have for me?

  • TS3212 When I updated itunes to the latest version, my itunes stopped working all together.  I cannot re-download it, start it up, nothing.  I have windows XP.

Itunes does not open I get a runtime erroe.  It says:
    R6034
An application has mad an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly.  Please contack the applications support team for more information.
Nothing works and the error message keeps popping up.

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
    Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

HT1923: Removing and reinstalling iTunes for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
