Auto-Brightness on iPad mini Retina is not working properly.

Hello! Noticed that the Auto-Brightness on iPad mini Retina is not working properly.
It works correctly only when such a dark place, then unlock the iPad brightness will be at a minimum. Likewise, if unlock iPad in a room with light, the brightness will adjust to the surrounding space.
If I turn light into a dark room, the brightness slider does not move, and stands on the site. Checked on the iPhone 5S, there problems are not present. Auto Brightness is working correctly.

And you know they are incorrect because you get sound here and there from time to time? That fact doesn't prove that something isn't working correctly inside. You could very well have a bad connection inside the device causing this, but somehow you seem to know that's not the case.

I'm sure I will be calling AppleCare, but the problem is, they charge for the phone calls don't they? Because I don't have money to be spending to be on the phone with a support service.
In other things, it seemed like the only time my MacBook was working was when I had Snow Leopard without the 10.6.8 update download that was supposed to be done to prepare for OS X Lion.
When I look at the information of my HD it says that I have 10.6.8 but that was the install that it claimed to have failed and caused me to restart resulting in all of the repeated problems.
Also, because my computer is currently down, and I've lost all files how would that effect the use of my iPhone? Because if it doesn't get fixed by the time OS 5 is released, how would I be able to upgrade?!

Try giving it a reset. Hold down the sleep and home keys for about 20 seconds. When you see the silver apple, let go and let it reboot and then see if your touch screen is back.

Reading ebooks on the iPad mini retina does it work outdoors?

I am about to buy an ipad mini with retina display. I would like to know how well this works as an ebook reader, especially outdoors.

Backlight screens such as on the iPad do not work well in bright sunshine. They get washed out. If you plan to use your reader outdoors frequently, you may wish to instead consider one of the "e paper" based readers such as the standard Kindle readers (not the Kindle Fire) that operate by reflected light rather than a backlight. If you have an Apple Store or dealer near you that opens directly to the outdoors rather than being in a mall, visit one and ask one of the sales associates if they can show you how the iPad's screen looks outdoors so you can judge for yourself.

Same problem here. I initially thought the auto-brightness problem had been fixed in 10.7.3, but sadly it hasn't. The auto-brightness works when the Mac starts, but I find it loses control and fails after wake from sleep.
I have telephoned AppleCare several times but they are not aware of this bug. They think a PRAM reset cures it, but it doesn't. As soon as the machine goes to sleep then auto-brightness fails on wake.
I have used the Apple Form to report the bug. It might eventually get fixed if others would kindly report it as well please. Here is the link:

IPad Mini - Word Suggestion not working

When I am using Pages on my iPad mini and I spell a work wrong it does not let me correct it, well it does not give me an option to correct it. When I click on the word (pages does indicate a misspelling by underlining it in red) it highlights it, but I have no options (select, copy, define, suggest..etc). Any one know what I can do to fix this problem? Thank you

Have you tried to reset it? Hold down the sleep and home keys until you see the silver apple. For about 20 seconds or so. See if it'll reboot and then see if the screen works.

IPad mini cover closure not working

The magnetic cover for iPad mini does not put it to sleep on closure. Any suggestions?

Does it matter what side you place the cover on? Try bringing a magnet up to the Ipad also to see if the magnet is not working in the cover. If another magnet works then there is a problem with the cover. I would see about getting it replaced in that event.

If that doesn't work then reset the device by going to settings/general/reset/reset all settings (or for network connection issues 'reset network settings').
(no media or data will be deleted from the device, this will only take a minute).
Again... how's he going to go to any of that when the touchscreen is dead?

IPad mini wi fi not working

Even after ios 6.0.2 update, wi-fi is not working on my brand new iPad mini (Wi-fi+Cellular)which was purchased on 24th December, 2012 in India. Wi-fi is working just fine on other ios devices at home like my iPad2 & iPhone4s.
Please fix this soon.

Read some other posts and tried this and it works (but a bit flakey):
Shut down router, computer and iPad Mini
Then power them on in the following sequence:
1. Computer and launch iTunes
2. Router
3. Ipad Mini (check Wi-Fi connection OK)
Wait until everything is loaded
ITunes will still not show the device, but on iPad Mini go to Settings/General/iTunes/Wi-Fi Sync
"Sync Now" should no longer be "grayed out", so press it
The device then appeared on iTunes
However(!), when the computer is switched off and on, the device disappears from iTunes, but if you then also switch the iPad Mini off and on, it will be available again (you might still have to go to Sync Now again on the device first)
General comment - Wi-Fi sync is quite slow and won't perform software updates - you'll still need the cable!

Are you sure that they are plugged in all the way? It really takes quite a firm push in order to set the headphone jack into the opening all the way.

After install of ios7 on ipad mini wifi will not work

I have installed ios7 on my mini. After doin so WiFi will not work. Button is greyed out. When I try to erase all content and go back to factory it wants my password and won't do so because it says no internet connection. Had I know this was going to happen I would have left well enough alone. I have tried hard resetting by holding home and off button simultaneously but not working. Anyone have any ideas? This mini is now basically useless to me without internet. I'm really annoyed.

IPad 4 Retina Display not working

Hi,
Trying to fix my daughters ipad4 as the display suddenly stopped working properly last night. At first taking off the magnetic screen cover sorted the issue, today that makes no difference...all you can see now is a pattern of wavy lines across the screen. Tried to do a reset with the home and standby buttons but I still get the wavy lines instead of the apple logo, then it goes blank after a few seconds.
Any ideas gratefully accepted, its outside the one year warranty period

I'm having the same problem on the iPad Air Wifi 32GB, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. It worked perfectly on ios7 so hopefully the next update will fix it.

Auto-Submit On Change in DropDown List not working properly!

I�ve got a problem with a drop down list an a table with some rows on my page. The property "Auto-Submit on Change" is set for the drop down because the valueChange-method has to do some work when the user selects another value from the drop down.
The problem is that after selecting another item from the drop down, the table fields don�t keep their values, which I had entered before I selected another item in the drop down. But: When I select an item again, suddenly exactly these values are set.

Is there some explanation for this behavior or it�s really a bug in the way how the drop down is submitting the form? I would understand it when commitChanges is not working here because of auto submit on change (==immediate?). but once it works und once it doesn�t work!
