Auto close ticket after X days?

We get a lot of tickets that go unresponded.  Is there a method to send an email that the ticket will close automatically if not updated or responded to?

We currently use an old version of Dameware for onsite remote support.
Works OK but it's years old and well overdue an upgrade.
One thing we do like with Dameware is that there is no dicking around involved, it's installed on all our PCs and all we need to do is fire up the app, enter the name of the machine we want to connect to, the end user has to confirm that we can connect (this bit is important to us) and we're on - the whole process takes about 10 seconds.
I'm looking at ScreenConnect as it would appear that it can be used for both onsite clients and offsite clients (either our own people or guests) and the pricing looks attractive.
Is anyone using it in a 95% onsite support environment and if so how do you find it please?

  • Auto Empty Folder After 90 days

One of the best things I ever did was to setup a folder in my email that auto empties itself after 90 days.  its great to use as a holding place for emails that I need to hold onto for a short period of time, but then want to make go away.  shipping confirmations are a great example.
I'm interested in doing the same thing with a desktop folder.  I know that time machine and what not gives me recovery options for things I delete, but this is a bit different.  This is for items that I want to delete, just not right now.  What I'd like it to do is delete items after they've been in the folder for some specified period of time, like 60 or 90 days.

There's no easy way to do that.  You'd have to create a script that would scan the contents of a folder and move anything older than 90 days to the trash.  And you'd have to set up a way to run that script repeatedly, on an automated basis.  Someone may have created third-party software to do this, though I'm not familiar with it.
I'd say that you probably don't need that.  Just delete the items, and if your Time Machine backup drive is large enough, they'll stay in the backup for a long time, easily longer than 90 days.  No need for such a temporary repository!

  • Monitors Not Resetting Health After 30 Day Auto Resolution

When we get an alert it is in the console and does send an email. Now after 30 days of this monitor being open (and not returning to a healthy state in which case it would close since most of the monitors auto resolve when they return to healthy state)
it closes as we have the global setting of "Resolve all active alerts in the new resolution state after:". However, the monitor does not return to a healthy state. Is this the way SCOM operates? In which case is their a way to run a "Reset Health"
the resets all the monitors for a particular Windows computer instead of having to go to health explorer and run this per monitor?

    1)  Resolve all active alerts in the new resolution state after:". However, the monitor does not return to a healthy state. Is this the way SCOM operates
The resolve all active alers in new resolutio state after XXdays option is just close the active alert and is does not reset the health state of underneath monitor

    2) a way to run a "Reset Health" the resets all the monitors for a particular Windows computer instead of having to go to health explorer and run this per monitor

  • Adobe Reader no longer Auto-Closes after printing

My company uses software that allows for users to reprint invoices they have previously made.  The way the procedure is supposed to work is: the driver clicks a re-print button, Adobe Reader opens up with the document, prints it, then closes.  Within the past couple of weeks however, everything is fine however Adobe Reader will not close out.  The PDF document itself closes, but the user is then brought to the main menu where they can open up another PDF.  The problem this is causing is that they cannot reprint other invoices until manually closing out of Adobe reader every time.  There have not been any updates made to the software they are using, or to Adobe Reader.  We have users on both Windows XP and 7, and have the issue with both Reader v10 and 11.
Any suggestions on how I might be able to get Adobe Reader to auto-close again?  I am also checking with the software vendor for their insight.

    Might be difficult to fix.
You don't know what changes to your system/registry have been made by the virus infection you told of.
Maybe this article has some useful hints for you.

  • Auto-close after signature?

I would like to know if it's possible to auto-close a document after signing and saving.  I've been having an issue at the company with two (or more) people having a document open for electronic signature at once, and of course only one of them can save at a time.  If a document could close automatically after signature, this problem would greatly be reduced.
If there is a code that allows auto-closing the file after the signature save prompt and the person signs, I would love to know about it.
    Is this possible?
Win XP, LS 8.2, Acrobat Professional 9.4

Ok tried that, and get the message, "Object contains a feature not supported by target version"
The Report log says,  "Target Version does not support PostSign event".

  • Auto close after playing a trailer?

The title says my question: Can I set Quicktime to close automaticallyl after a trailer plays? I don't see a setting for that, so I presume not.

The QuickTime Player isn't open when you view most movies embedded in a Web page. Only the browser plug-in is in use.
If the page code is set to "target" the QuickTime Player then the file will open in QT. It is up to the authors to decide what the file does when the movie is finished.
QuickTime Pro can set some "Presentation" features that include auto close and auto quit. These properties travel with the file.
I set some of my Presentation movies to auto quit the player when the file is finished.
Doesn't Control-Q quit the open app?

  • Auto-close print queue windows after my job finishes?

Whenever I print something, a window for the printer opens up showing me the current print queue. That's great. What's not-so-great is me having to keep on closing those windows after they open.
Is there a way for those windows to close themselves after my print job finishes?
    Thanks.

Thanks! (I haven't actually tested it yet, but I did bring the printer up in the dock and set the "Auto-Quit" function, so it at least seems plausible that it will work.)
Perhaps a new low in Apple UI design: an option -only- accessible via a Dock Menu?

  • Auto-Save &Auto-Close after inactivity

I'm new to JavaScript, so please be patient. I am using Acrobat XI
I have a document that I am trying to have auto-save and auto-close after 10 minutes of inactivity. I've found where I would enter the JavaScript under the document actions, and I see the "Will Save" and "Will Close" functions, but I guess I don't understand what JavaScript I need to put in these fields to get them to do what I want.
I can get the document to run JavaScript that will close the document after being open for 10 minutes, but I need it to save and close after 10 minutes of inactivity. Is this possible, and if so how do I go about this?
    Thanks SO MUCH in advance.

The "Will Save" and "Will Close" events are only triggered after an action to save the PDF or close the PDF has started.

  • Reader 11.0.0.3 auto closes after an install

    I downloaded Reader 11.0.0.3
When I open it prompts me to accept the license
The license window stays up bu the application closes within a second.
Opening any pdf file post that point allows the application to open... then auto closes after 1 sec
I have installed with Chrome, without Chrome
    I have rebooted between installs
Google search led me to Eula.exe - which is the accept license
    That has no affect
I am running Windows 7 64 bit on a Lenovo laptop

Two more things things to try...
Can you open Adobe Reader by itself?  If so, try disabling Protected Mode [Edit | Preferences | Security (Enhanced)].
It could even be a malware issue; see http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/reader-core-dll-error.html

After updating itunes three (3) days ago - itunes close shortly after starting with the message "a problem occured and cannot be solved, please close application" - Platform: WIN7 - iTunes 11.2.9.115

Start with the third box in  Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
If that doesn't work, use the steps in the second box to repair your iTunes installation. Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup advice elsewhere in the user tip.

  • How to auto close finder window after drag and drop?

In Tiger, I would file away items on my desktop my dragging them to the hard drive and then digging down to the appropriate folder. The finder window would then close automatically after dropping the file. Is there a setting in Snow Leopard that will enable similar functionality? Whenever I complete a drag and drop now the finder window just stays open, which isn't a huge issue, but I'd still like to change it. Thanks!

  • I am photo streaming my docs from my macbook air and want to assure they do not get auto deleted after 30 days??

I have a macbook air, and an Iphone 4S, as well as an Ipad 2.  I have many pictures that I was just now sending to my "Icloud free 5 gig"  I noticed a comment that stated that Photo will delete the oldest files after 30 days so as to manage size??  I don't want to have that happen, I want to put them there and leave them there.  I don't want the cloud space deciding which pictures shoudl be dumped. . .
Am I overlooking or misinterpreting something?  I mean I am pretty concerned and if that is the case, I want to pull them back down or whatever and have them stay on the individual devices. . .I figured it would be free space that I could delete if I wanted to, not arbitrrarily by a date and some unknown valuating system of measure. . .
    Thanks,
    Dave
PS Still can't get my arrow keys to go back, or up  kinda a pain..

if I empty my music from my old computer will I lose all my music on my new computer - ipod etc...
No. Be sure you have transferred the entire contents of your old /Home/Music/ folder.
Create a new user account on your old computer. Have your granddaughter tell you what she would like the username to be and what password she wants. Be sure to set the new account with Administrative authority. Then log into this new account and delete your old account.
