Auto Complete Feature

Sorry this sounds stupid, but how do you use the auto complete feature when typing emails and texts? The blue suggestion comes up but how do you confirm that you want their suggestion?

Hi Sheltz,
To accept the suggestion given, just tap the "Space" button on the keyboard. To deny it, hit the X after the word.
Hope this helps!

  • Dial Pad Auto-complete feature in Android 4.3 not working.

    Hi!
I've been using Xperia devices for quite a long time and I just got myself the new Z1. I've updated it to Jelly Bean 4.3 OTA using Update Centre on the phone. According to the release there is an improved Dial pad auto-complete feature but I can't seem to see it work like it used to on my previous Xperia devices. The numbers I type in only shows up names of people whose phone number have the typed in numbers. But with my previous Xperia devices I could type in '323' and get 'Dad' as suggestion. Has this feature been removed from the new update?
Hope you guys can help me find a solution to that without having to install third-party apps.
    Thanks!

    Android 4.3 Jelly Bean

I would love to have a solution to that too, seeing the 4.3 update for my Xperia V has the same crippling issue. It's no longer possible to type in "letters" into the dialer and find corresponding names, and as an inferior option there is no dial auto-complete option anywhere either.

This is really unfortunate. I'm sorry that nothing works. I was going to mention holding down the power button and doing a force shutdown but you already did that. You might need to take it into the Apple store. I don't know if booting into safe mode would help. You would have to turn off the machine again, hit the start button and hold down the shift key after you hear the tone, but normally you would let go of the shift key when you see the apple logo and spining wheel. Maybe by holding down the shift key after you here the tone will cause the screen to come back on? The other option is to start up from the 'install disk' if your machine came with one. You would insert the disk, then shut down the computer, and hold down the C key right after hitting the start button.

  • Auto-complete feature or application

    Dear All,
I would like to ask if there is an auto-complete feature or a desktop application that I can install to give me auto-complete.
To make things clear, I know about auto-text, and spell checking features. I am asking about something like TypeBooster , but for blackberry Curve 8320. I want to have suggestions for word as I type a message or in any place.
    Thanks in advance

As you know already, that is not available in the native OS of the BlackBerry, except in the Suretype models (81xx) running OS 4.3+ which do have Predictive Typing.
I am not aware of a third party application which does that, either.

Hey, cor-rel thanks for your time but that didn't work for me.if you some programming solutions or any other please let me know.
use this link to get more familiar with problem
    http://www.jadooghar.com/AjaxSolrSearch?query=vasant+kunj&what=&type_radio=on&for_radio=on&property_type=Residential&property_for=Sale
type "vasant kunj" manually in the "where" box 3-4 times so that firefox could generate auto suggestions for you then type "va" firefox will show you the auto complete suggestions. After that focus on auto complete and press "enter" then analyze the result with auto complete and without auto complete i .e manual typing

  • Disabling auto-complete in a single column or cell

Dear All, I find the auto-complete feature in Numbers to be both time-saving but also dangerously stupid. Why should the default option be that when only one auto-complete entry is available, continuing to type your entry and pressing the return key automatically selects that entry? I would like to be able to turn off the auto-complete for a single column, but not for the rest, in which it works very well. So far I have not found any way to do this. It seems logical enough; we ought to be able to control which columns offer the auto-complete function and which don't.

It would be fine if a modifier key was able to disable the feature 'locally'.
    Perhaps Control-Return would work
Control-Return is not a modifier key, it is an entry.
I was thinking to the ability to press a modifier key when entering the first character in the cell. Pressing this key would tell to the entry parser: don't use the auto-completion.
For my own use, I apply a drastic formula: the auto-completion feature is disabled.
You are satisfied with the delete feature.
I may understand that but the OP is not.
So I try to imagine a possible enhancement.
    What I describe may help.
    For me it changes nothing.
For you, it let you use the delete key.
For the OP it would give him a neat answer.

  • How do I disable auto complete in the Mail program?

I have to type e-mail in more than one language on my iPod Touch, and Mail's auto complete feature is causing me a lot of trouble. It's making ridiculous word suggestions and typing these words if I don't touch a teeny-tiny X in the auto complete tag. The X is so small that often as not my finger ends up confirming the suggestion, rather than deleting it.
For example, if I have to type the German word "kann" (which I very often have to, because it means "can"), the Mail program types in the name of the Indian language "Kannada", which I NEVER need.
One solution would be to switch the language settings before typing e-mails, but that takes too much time, and the iPod Touch doesn't have support for some of the languages I have to type.
How can I just disable that auto complete feature? I don't see it in the manual.

    Settings -> General -> Keyboard -> Auto-Correction -> OFF.
But this is a global setting, not just for the Mail app.

  • How do I enable auto-complete for gmail password? I have five accounts and it works for 3 of them but not the other 2.

I have five gmail accounts. Three of them have the auto-complete feature enabled for the password. The two most recent accounts do not auto-fill so I must type in my password every time. The auto-fill works fine on my laptop but not on my desk-top. My operating system is Windows XP.

You don't have to do anything with the first iPod that you don't use anymore. If you are planning on keeping it, put in a drawer in your house and forget about it.
You don't need a second account to use with the new iPod. I use one Appl e ID and iTunes library for two iPods, and two iPad. I have different content on all four devices. You can select exactly what you want to sync to each device and it can be different content on all devices.

  • Where is the IPTC auto complete function in Photoshop CC 2014?

I miss a function in the IPTC file info since my company upgraded from Photoshop CC to Photoshop CC 2014. In the past the description had a auto complete function, which is a really good function when you have to edit multiple images with the same description. Is it possible to get this option back in CC 2014?
    Cheers,
    Lars

So what we are talking about is the "Auto Complete" feature in the File > Info form in Photoshop.
Yes it has been taken out in CC 2014 and it may not be convenient to move your work over to CC for that one feature.
You can submit it as a feature request here: Photoshop Family Customer Community
That forum would be the best for reporting it.

  • LOV Auto complete with controller class

    Hi
    I have two LOVs
    i) Items Lov: Simple, no controller, VO and stright forward mappings. If I enter an item Description KB% and tabs on the column if there is only one record then the other mapped columns such as Segment1, Inv_item_id etc., are also filled up. This works perfect!
ii) Price List Lov: I have a controller set with this LOV to apply a filter criteria in VO. If I enter EM% in the price list description and press tab button and there is only one record I'm supposed to get other mapped columns such as Price List Id etc.,. But the Auto complete feature is not working so, I'm not getting other mapped values such as price list etc.,
Any body has any idea how to overcome this problem.
    Thanks in advance
    Prasad

Here is what our LOV expert has to say about this.
Open the LOV manually and try selecting a value and see if the results are returned properly. If it doesnot then there is something wrong with your metadata definition.
Your base page controller's processFormRequest will also be called when the values are returned from the LOV. Use pageContext.getLovResultValuesFromSession which will return a dictionary of what is returned from the LOV. Verify the dictionary by placing a breakpoint on this call in your processFormRequest.

  • Auto complete PJC

    Hi,
I have Forms 10g R2, I built one form with multirecords I want to implement auto complete feature(like in address bar of IE) in Combo box in list item field, any one know where can I get any PJC which suffice my need.
    Thanks, Khawar

    Hi wfwiii,
If you're trying to avoid having to type repeating values in a header column, why not give Pop-Up Menu a try? It's now really easy to use, as described here and here.  And it keeps your data cleaner. No typos and capitalization inconsistencies. And it works much better that auto-complete if you ever take documents with you on mobile.

  • Mail won't auto complete Exchange email addresses after Lion

Hi there. I tried to lookup a solution for this problem on the support communities but wasn't able to. Since upgrading to Lion, the auto complete feature for email addresses in my University Exchange server won't work. Mail only completes addressees contained locally in my Mac. The feature worked fine with Snow Leopard and continues to work on both my iPhone and iPad. It's worth noting that setting up the exchange server itself wasn't a straight forward task either as the auto setup didn't work and I had to enter the exchange server address manually in Mail. Any help on this would be much appreciated.

The screenshot below is from SL, not Lion, but see if you can find something similar to this.
In Mail prefs, click on 'Composing', and look for the 'Configure LDAP' button. Click on that and add your server with the little '+' button.
