Auto-Cue Find Beats and Mark

Hello all,
I am new to Audition (CS6), I am still using cool edit.
Now i am trying out the trail of audition v.5 (looks cool etc.)
After googling looking and reading, i still can't find the old simple and efficient option:
Auto-Cue > Find Beats and Mark
(I love the Db rise) I use this option the most, handy for beat cutting and loop making.
Please help

You can do it using nested styles. Create a Character Style that applies superscript. Then create a Paragraph Style that uses the following Nested Style settings:
[None] up to 1 ®
Character Style through 1 ®
[Repeat] last 2 styles
Success! A neat trick that may serve me well in future.

Find Beats, Markers problem and External Soundcard

Dear Sirs,
I am using Audition CS6 on Mac and working perfectly.
However I would like to bring the following three enquiries that I have for possibly an answer and/or possibly solution/s:
- The Find Beats tool is somehow missing in CS6.
Is it only me that I cannot locate this tool or it is not yet implemented in CS6.
And if not implemented, is it planned for future releases?
- When markers are deleted from a track, they are still in cache memory and can't be used until Audition is closed and re-opened.
In simpler words: if for example, I have 100 markers in a track and I delete the 80th marker.
If I place another marker soon after deletion of the 80th marker, the new marker is named as 101.
But if soon after I the deletion of the 80th marker, I close the Audition and re-opened, the next marked marker is named as the 80, and the next marker will be the 101.
Is this a known issue, and is it planned to be fixed?
- When changing the Audio Hardware from External soundcard to Internal without having the external soundcard yet connected, no playback is possible.
Solution: Connect the Ext. soundcard just until you change the Audio Hardware to Internal Soundcard and then you can disconnect the Ext. Soundcard with playback working flawlessly.
Is this annoying issue known and any plans for fixing?

Asiodriver and external Soundcard seems not Microsoft product, it seems your application crashed and report this error for you. Please contact your provider for help.

ITunes cannot find find on NAS and marks them with "!" - Only double-click helps

I have placed my iTunes library on my Synology NAS. After I (hopefully) got rif of my connection problems by switcvhing from afp to a nfs connection there is still another probem: iTunes does not "find" the songs on the NAS after have started it and marks them with the "!" sign on the left side of the name. If I double click on the song, that one is now properly found and play... This is somewhat "not useable", but it works when I am sitting in front of my Mac....
BUT:
When I connect to my iTunes library from my AppleTv or my iPad when I want to stream some music to the AppleTV, only those songs are available that I doubleclick some time before - when they are marked with that "!". This behavior of course is not "usable" at all.
MY QUESTION:
Is there some way to force iTunes to scan the libray and find those songe marked with "!". I know that sometimes iTunes asks for finding some of the not located songs but even then not all of the "!" are gone. That only happens when I double click it manually or show iTunes the song in the "find" dialog that pops up if it really cannot find the songs.

Ideally you need to boot from the disk as you have no other media advisable. (e.g your hard drive)
Without some form of system disk or restore you wont be able to diagnose the problem with your hard drive.
By using a Mac OS X system disk you can load up the Disk Utilities and repair the hard drive if shown it's available. If it's not available you would need to replace the hard drive and reinstall Mac OS. Without any disk to support you, you are going to struggle.
You can obtain replacement disk, both retail copies or system disk on the Internet.
If you know what version of Mac OS X you had install (I'm guessing that it would have been 10.3, but would recommend 10.4) A retail disk is normally black with a colored 'X' on it, while system disk are always.
Always try and obtain a copy of the system restore disks (Gray) for your iBook
Ebay is another outlet that has genuine system disk for sell, but like any auction site, it's as and when someone is selling them.
The only other thing you could do is take it to a Apple repair agent who could check the hard drive on your behalf. That way you can get confirmation if the problem is the drive or some other fault. They may even help restore the OS for you.
I can't think of anything else to try without some form of disk to help you.
There maybe just one other small thing you could try.
When booting up, firmly rest your palm of your hand on the iBook next to the tracker pad on the left side.
If it works then it's another fault that I'm aware of.

Finder logo and question mark

So I read a discussion on here where somebody described a problem where their mac began start-up but froze on a gray screen and a picture of a folder that flashed between the finder icon and a question mark. Apparently this screen is supposed to go away in several minutes, but I have this same problem and my screen stays locked on that icon and doesn't start up. I've left it running for at least half an hour, but the screen stays on the icon. Is there any way to get around this screen so my computer starts up normally?

10.4.4 Easily Updated and Marked improvements!

Hi,
I read with trepidation many of the issues associatted with the 10.4.4 update keeping in mind more folks with problems than success will post.
That said I'd like to say it's a great update that has improved my 15" PB noticably.
I updated thusly:
Repaired permissions from disc utility on the HD, not from disc.
Downloaded and followed the combo update.
That's it!
NO PROBLEMS and marked speed improvments on several levels most welcomed my card reader for digital photos is 10x faster! 100mb took 2+ minutes prior, about 10 seconds now. This is a Lexar with USB 2 reader.
All programs seem more responsive.

been crippled by ANY OS X update at all. Just because a thread
has dozens, maybe hundreds of posts, doesn't mean anything. If
you look at individual posts you will see very few. If you've
been around long enough you see the same names over and over
again with the same problems on every update that comes out. To
use your logic in reverse, just because SOME people have issues
doesn't mean the update is at fault at all.
OK, to take your approach, let's say that 3% of all Mac users come to these forums. Now of that number, only maybe 75% ever actually post. And of /that/ 75%, we find that some 3% of the posters have issues with the 10.4.4 update. (I'd be interested in knowing the actual numbers.)
If we say only 14 users in these forums have expressed issues concerning this update, then that adds up to 20,740 end users with issues.
Do you really think everyone that has a problem comes here? The same names over and over again are right. they are of the few 'regular joe' users that found it to this place.
Users do all sorts of strange things to their
installations. They delete, move, alter files without the
slightest knowledge of what they are doing. They install 3rd
party hacks and then forget they ever did so. Third party hacks,
of course, are one of the main causes of problems with updates.
The thing is, this doesn't always happen with a minor decimal update. And one of the primary strengths of the Apple Macintosh since 1984 has been the reliability and the stability of the platform. When I debate platforms with people at work, even the ones that despise everything Macintosh tend to speak in almost glowing terms about how they just don't break. Well, not as much as they used to in the Classic days of course, but X is 100 times more complex. Nevertheless, with protected memory and self contained applications, X should be /more/ reliable than Classic not less.
The problem here is with QC in the coding department. An organizational issue that is not difficult to fix.
I would also take issue with the idea to make updates
available only on Apple's download site. Those same average
users you mention would then never update at all and be left
open to real bugs and security issues.
Then you didn't really read what I wrote. The rest of the Unix community does it RIGHT. Minor decimal updates are first released as UNSTABLE and when the bugs are ironed out THEN it is sent to auto-update reservoirs such as Software Update.
I sincerely doubt that the 4 week delay for bug reports to come in from the early-adopter community and the repairs get folded into the stable release before it automatically goes out to the rest of the user base could really be classified as "never" in the way you characterize it above. What I recommended was that the update be given in it's original release to the Early-Adopters on the Apple Website, and when it is clear that there are not major issues (or the major issues are repaired or accounted for) THEN release it on SU.
With the large user community we have for OS X, the unstable/stable release model will result in astoundingly strong software, worthy of Macintosh's 80's and 90's reputation for reliability.
I respect your opinion in this matter but I stick to my
claim. Each update adds greater stability, fixes bugs, increases
compatibility.
In theory. I happen to be a power user, and have been able to increase in function and stability with every minor decimal point release. I need to post an answer to my own thread on this, but the 10.4.4 update made my Finder lock up sometimes when it woke up from sleep, and /every/ time it woke up with Keynote 3 running. And that is on a fresh OS install last week (bought new hard drive). So then I go and delete the com.apple.PowerManagement.plist and reboot, and reset my power management preferences and I am now good to go.
As a support professional, it is frankly inexcusable to expect your ordinary end user to do such a thing.
In my opinion Apple does a very good job of testing
updates before they are released.
That's the whole point, isn't it? A lab is /not/ real life. You can never iron out the issues in a lab alone, that a piece of code will encounter in the user community. In the Unix world, an 'unstable' update is not necessarily unstable. It just hasn't had real-world feedback yet. If Apple went to that paradigm, only putting 'stable' releases on SU, then none of this would happen.
The vast majority of users experience none of the
problems seen here and that's why you don't see those users
here. If this latest update was as issue prone as some claim
this forum would be locked up from thousands of users attempting
to get their two cents in.
So you don't think anybody in the real world goes elsewhere to fix their problems, takes their computers to CompUSA, the Apple Store, or just languishes in a poorly-operating state not knowing who to call or what to do?

DV7-4060si beats and audio driver issue

Whenever I try and change the EQ in the Beats application, or the bass/treble in the tone controls, nothings. I click save, then when i go back to it, its reverted to default.
Also, when I try update my audio driver, I reboot and suddenly theres no sound. This is fixed by reinstalling the original drivers.
Help?

Lost & Found
Create a playlist called Found, select everything in Music and drag it into the Found playlist (it may take some time to count the tracks that are to be dropped). Create a smart playlist called Lost matching All the rules Playlist is Music and Playlist is not Found. Your lost tracks will be in this playlist.
Optional: It depends a bit on why things aren't where iTunes expects to find them but if they are in sensible Artist & Album folders in some common location then my FindTracks script should be able to reconnect them to iTunes. FindTracks uses some fuzzy matching routines and searches for multiple potential locations. For more details see this thread. Once you have repaired the tracks that can be found you can drag the contents of the Lost playlist into Found which will update things.
Or, you can simply delete all the tracks in the Lost playlist with Ctrl-A to select them and then Shift-Delete to delete.

If you want to use multiple devices - move to imap, I would even say "exchange", but Google does not support free exchange anymore, since January of that year. So Ironically Icloud or Hotmail would be my choices right now.

Finding x and y values of a Line Chart

For instance, I had a line chart with x and y axis. When I move mouse to the line chart how can I determine x and y axis values? With mouseMoved metod i can find the coordinates but coordinates doesn't help me to find x and y values of the line chart.
How can I find x and y values of a Line Chart?

Unable to find "Language and Region" link

Hi,
I am trying to customize language and region settings via my MySite using the below link. I spent an hour yesterday trying to find "Language and Region" link in the Edit Profile page, however, I could not. Is there a feature I need to activate
to see this link or enable something in Central Admin?
I only see Basic Information, Contact Information, Details, and Newsfeed Settings.

According to your description, my understanding is that you can't see the "Language and Region" link in mysite Edit Profile Page.
I suggest you can check if you have checked "Show on the Edit Details Page" in the Central Administrator ->Manage Service Application->User Profile Service Application->Manage User Properties->Language and Regions->All
child properties under Language and Region.

Mail picking up old messages and marking as new

I hope someone can help - I have this really annoying problem and I have no idea how to stop it from happening.
Every day my mammal picks up a handful of old emails from a few weeks previous and marks them as new messages. Every time this happens I need to scroll through my inbox to find the offending messages and delete them again. Sometimes they are just junk messages that I have previously deleted and sometimes they are actual emails that I have read and want to keep in my inbox. My email comes from hotmail. this problem started some time ago before I updated to Yosemite and it is still happening even after the update. I've tried looking into mail settings to see if I can find a solution but had no luck. It's driving me nuts!

Try rebuilding the mailbox. This can take awhile if you have a lot of mail.
