Auto deployment ant

hello.
I try to deploy web application using Ant task <wldeploy> on weblogic10.3(actually it is in OSB).
But i keep getting MalformedURLException : no protocol while launching build.xml.
Here it is.
<?xml version="1.0"?>
<project name="hello" default="execBat">
<taskdef name="wldeploy" classname="weblogic.ant.taskdefs.management.WLDeploy">
<classpath>
<pathelement location="D:/bea/wlserver_10.3/server/lib/weblogic.jar"/>
</classpath>
</taskdef>
<target name="deploy">
<wldeploy action="deploy" name="myWar"
source="hello.bea.war"
user="admin" password="admin"
verbose="true" adminurl="t3://localhost:7001" />
</target>
</project>
Anybody knows where the problem lays?
Thanks.

  • Error auto-deploying a Web App (.WAR file)

    Hello,
    Weblogic 6.1 throws a FileNotFoundException about 10% of the time for me when
    auto-deploying a Web app. Has anyone else run into this? I searched the newsgroups
    but didn't come up with anything, so I thought I'd start here.
    My build/deploy cycle is managed by an Ant build file that creates a WAR file
    of my web application and then drops it into $WL_HOME/config/mydomain/applications.
    Occasionally when I do this, I get the error shown below. Originally I was building
    the WAR file right in the ../applications directory, so I thought that might be
    an issue. So, I started building the WAR file in a staging directory and copying
    it into ../applications. No luck. Next, I tried deleting the original WAR file
    from ../applications, and THEN copying the new one over from the staging directory.
    Still fails occasionally.
    Let's see. This is Weblogic 6.1 on Win2K. The only other thing is that my dev/build/staging
    environment is on a network share, and it's from there that I'm copying the WAR
    file to my local machine (where WL is running).
    If someone has seen and/or knows what is up with this, great. If not, it's not
    a show-stopper.
    Thanks!
    Cheers,
    David

    Michael,
    This is a problem with 6.1 SP2 also -- a very annoying error. Without auto deploy
    working properly, developers are spending alot of time waiting for WebLogic to restart.
    HELP!!! we need this fixed.
    I see the EXACT same stack trace (ERROR).

  • Auto-Deployment and Restarting Managed Server

    Hi,
    We are using WebLogic Server 7.0 SP2 on Solaris 8. Yesterday, a developer copied
    over a new WAR file into the applications directory. Then he ried to restart the
    managed server. This appeared to hang, so he tried restarting the admin. server,
    which also failed. Looking at the log, it looks like the admin. server is trying
    to deploy apps. from the applications/backup directory.
    After I removed the backup directory and edited config.xml to remove all references
    to this directory, I was able to startup the Admin. server (though there were
    still some errors; see later) and the managed server.
    The servers are actually running in "developemnt" mode and have the Aut-Deploy
    feature enabled, so my theory is that the auto-deployment was conflicting with
    the managed server restart. He shouldn't have had to restart the managed server
    since Auto-Deploy is enabled, right?
    I'm also wondering about these errors I got when I the Admin. server finally started:

    The short answer to your question is that auto-deployment and multiple
    servers don't mix.
    If you have a single-server domain and choose to use auto-deployment,
    that'll work fine.
    Once you have separate admin/managed servers, you need to use
    weblogic.Deployer, the wldeploy ant task (8.1), or the console to deploy
    applications.

  • Fast swap Vs Auto deploy

    Hi Friend's,
    Can you please tell me differnece betwetween fast swap and auto deploy deployments in weblogic server10. both are using in development mode only right.
    can I use Weblogic.Deployer tool to deploy applications in weblogic 10.3 ,we are using admin console to deploy applications. is there any way to deploy applications in wls.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Balaji,
    Yes, this is true that the Fast-Swap and Autodeploy features are made for Development Mode ONLY. These features automatically disabled in production mode
    <font color=maroon>Fast-Swap:</font> Java EE 5 introduces the ability to redefine a class at runtime without dropping its ClassLoader or abandoning existing instances. This allows containers to reload altered classes without disturbing running applications, vastly speeding up iterative development cycles and improving the overall development and testing experiences.
    To know more about fast-swap please refer to : http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12840_01/wls/docs103/deployment/deployunits.html#wp1053872
    <font color=maroon>Autodeploy:</font> Auto-deployment is intended for use with a single server target in a development environment. If you use other tools, such as the Administration Console, to add targets to an auto-deployed, exploded application, redeploying the application does not propagate changes to the new target servers. To know more about autodeploy: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11035_01/wls100/deployment/autodeploy.html
    <font color=maroon>weblogic.Deployer</font>
    Yes, you can use the "weblogic.Deployer" utility to deploy your Applications on the WLS server 10.3/10.x/9.x . Even there is ANT version of this utility is also available whichhelps us in deploying Application very quickly ... Please refer to: http://weblogic-wonders.com/weblogic/2009/12/19/ant-to-deploy-applications/
    weblogic.Deployer in WLS8.x Some featuers are less in weblogic.Deployer utility of weblogic 8.x because that time there was no concept of Shared Library deployment ...or Production redeployment also known as versioning or Using Plan.xml while redeploying apps using deployer utility).
    Thanks

  • Startmode=false but still not auto-deploy

    Hi,
    I'm running Weblogic 7.0 SP2 on Solaris 9. I have set startmode=false in startWebLogic.sh
    but my applications are still not auto-deploy. My programmers have tried to modified
    a class without restarting the server, but the change does not take effect. They
    have tried on Windows platform and it auto-deploy. But it doesn't in Solaris platform.
    Is there some configurations that I missed? Please help. Tks.

    Location of JSP file -> /appl/bea/ngccs/mydomain/applications/DefaultWebApp/ngccs/test/test.jsp
    Location of class file -> /appl/bea/ngccs/mydomain/applications/DefaultWebApp/WEB-INF/classes/test/test.class
    I have set the startmode= and startmode=false which is in development mode.
    I then access from IE to point the URL to access test.jsp and the test.class.
    Then I modified test.class and uploaded again to the same class location and access
    from IE again. This time the changes is not displayed, the old class was being
    loaded instead of the new one.
    How to use the weblogic.Deployer, wldeploy, or the console to deploy?

    What sort of info do you need? The server is 24X7 production but runningWeblogic

    so I tried to use it. The server is running on a single Weblogic instanceonly.
    As I said in my last post, the applications directory and auto-polling
    is for single-server development environments only. If you're in a
    production environmentm especially a 24x7 environment, you don't want
    this option. I don't even believe we support it for production.
    If you want to change the application while the server is running, use
    weblogic.Deployer, wldeploy, or the console.
    Can you explain to me exactly what type of application change you are
    doing?

    I'd need more info to diagnose your issue. Does making the exact same

  • Auto deploy a VI onto compactRIO or pop-up a vi on target in main VI

    Hello
    I have a main program where i have event structure and 2 state machines which do DAQ and Video. in a different project i have a pid controlled heater program that will be deployed on compactRIO. how do i program the main VI to auto deploy the heater program to target and get values from there to the main program. (for graph values can i use global varible between realtime program and normal main program)
    I am thinking if i use the shared variable that is update by AI of a module on Compactrio in the main program, will it auto deploy it detecting that shared variables belong to target, but i want only the heater part of the program to get deployed not the event strucute, statemachines on the mian program. please help
    If i can put a button on main program that when clicked can pop-up the heater program on compact RIO to adjust the PID parameters and close it and run with new values. is this possible?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi freemason,
    I'm still a bit unclear on what you need. If you are able to develop your project such that all the VIs are located in thier respective locations (i.e. on the cRIO, RT or Windows Host), and you just want to change controls before running the FPGA vi, we can do that. Essentially, you use a read/write control VI before running the FPGA VI using the Run invoke node. You'll have to make sure to change the FPGA open reference options to not run the VI automatically (right click on it and select "Configure Open FPGA VI Reference...", uncheck the run option).
    If you want to look at an example involving PID in the LabVIEW example finder, one that might be of particular interest is called "Template Multichannel PID". You can find this in through Help>Find Examples. Navigate to Hardware Input and Output>CompactRIO>FPGA Fundamentals>Analysis and Control.
    You can use the execution of your host VI to start and stop the FPGA vi using the Read/Write Control VI and the Run invoke node. Also, you can use an invoke node to Abort the VI if that is necessary, but creating a stop control in the FPGA VI that allows the Host VI to stop using programming flow is usually more desirable.
    I hope these suggestions help, but please clarify your question if you're still confused.
    Also, Pablo. Try setting the VI to run as a start up application. A guide of how to do that is here.

  • Auto-Deployment is not working in Eclipse - Weblogic

    I have created weblogic server instance in Eclipse.Then, I have added one project into weblogic server by using "Add/Remove Projects" menu.After I start the server , I logged into admin console and checked the deployments link. I am not finding the project listed in the list.I have selected option "Run stand alone web module directly from work space" in web logic server configuration window in eclipse.
    I am using Eclipse 3.3 and weblogic 10.0.
    I have no idea, why auto-deployment is not working.
    I would appreciate your help on this regard.I have contacted Eclipse Support, they have asked me to contact BEA team.
    Thanks,
    Prakash.A

    Hi Prakash,
    The "Run standalone web module from workspace" doesn't publish the application to the server (instead the app is deployed to a temp location).
    This is mainly to help test the app during the development stages. If your app is complete and would like to publish to the server then you might want to try the following option
    - In Server View, double click on the configuration to launch Overview
    - Select "Copy stand-alone web module into separate deployment folder"
    - Save the configuration
    - Start the server
    The application would be deployed to the server as a WAR file.

  • Auto Deploy and VCD Network Isolation - Not Working

    Hello,
    I have opened a support case about this issue, but the case is moving a lot slower than I would like to see. I thought I'd post here to see if anyone has ran into anything similar.
    We recently switched our 24-host vCloud cluster (more info about this cluster below) over to Auto-Deploy (was using boot from USB). After the switch, we had a few complaints from customers that use isolated networks. It turns out that only 4 of our 24 hosts were working properly with isolated networks. All 24-hosts are using the same auto-deploy image.
    When the hosts boot up, the vCloud Director web interface shows the following with green check marks: "Status", "Enabled", "Ready", "Available", and "VCD Network Isolation Capable".
    To get my other 20 hosts working, I disabled all 20 hosts in the vCloud interface, unprepared them, and prepared them. After this, network isolation worked for those 20 hosts. When I reboot one of the hosts, the host still looks like it's good in the interface, but network isolation doesn't work until I disable, unprepare, and prepare.
    Here is some more information about our environment:
    vCenter build 2001466
    ESXi Host Build 2702864
    VCD Build 5.5.2.2000523
    vShield Build 5.5.3
    Here is the Deploy Rule that the hosts are using:
    Name        : UCS-2.2.1-pcloud.5.5.aln
    PatternList : {oemstring=$SPT:ESX_PublicCloud_autod.2.2.x}
    ItemList    : {ESXi-5.5.0-autod-2.2.1.vshield}
    I have confirmed that this is indeed the profile being used by looking at the Summary tab for the hosts and seeing the listed Image Profile.
    And here is what's in that item:

    Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

    Right now, on my test host (that is not working), I have two VMs, one named "Test 1" and the other "Test 2" They only have an isolated network on them (named "Test Isolated Network") that is in my VDC, and pings do not work between them. If I move them to any other host (that have been unprepared and prepared), pings work. I can move both to the same host, or different hosts.
    Here is the fence info on this host, I'm not really sure how to interpret this:

  • Beginner can't undeploy auto-deployed web app

    Hi.
    (I am brand new to WLS 10. I am testing it for a possible upgrade from WLS 8.)
    I auto-deployed a web application Weblogic Server 10.0. Now I am trying to undeploy it, but I just can't seem to make it go away. I first tried the delete button in the admin console, but that says "The application _appsdir_ch1_war was autodeployed and may only be deleted by removing the file(s) from the domain autodeploy directory."
    So then I deleted the file from the autodeploy directory and restarting the server.
    But it's still there.
    I'm about to edit the config.xml manually, which I'm SURE will work, but that can't be the proper way to get rid of autodeployed apps, surely. So, before I do that, I ask here how one removes autodeployed applciations from a WLS 10 server.
    Thanks for your help in advance!!!
    John

    The docs are here:
    http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs100/deployment/autodeploy.html#wp1021620
    Once you delete the file in the autodeploy directory, I think you have several options:
    1) Use the console to remove it
    2) weblogic.Deployer command line http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs100/deployment/wldeployer.html
    3) WLST - http://blogs.oracle.com/jamesbayer/2007/10/automate_wls_console_tasks_wit.html
    4) Delete from the config file (not recommended)
    You're easiest option is probably either 1 or 2 if you're just getting started.

  • Auto-Deployment in weblogic.

    Hi everyone,
    Can i know why auto-deploy feature is disabled in production mode in Weblogic.
    Regards,
    Vardhan.

    Hi Vardhan,
    Auto deployment is Developers friendly feature in which a Developer can develop an application and can deploy it in the <DOMAIN_HOME>\autodeploy directory and if he wants to make any changes in any of the JSPs or class files it will be reflected immediately. So for testing this kind of feature is most important.
    Also Autodeployment is available only for AdminServer So it is not possible to deploy applications on Managed Server using auto deployment. In Productoin environments we donot deploy applications on AdminServer.... because AdminServer is used to just manage the resources on WLS and to monitor them.
    But when it comes to the Production environment ...we don't frequently make changes in the application, rather we make different subversions and publish in the SVN repository and after full testing only we place the application on the Production so that's why this "autodeploy" fetaure is disabled in the Production Mode of WebLogic .....because ideally it is not useful there.
    For production environments WebLogic has an Uninterrupted deployment feature : http://middlewaremagic.com/weblogic/?p=394
    Thanks
    Jay SenSharma

  • Auto Deployment versus Hot Deployment

    Hi,
    Can anyone one please tell me what the real difference is between auto deployment versus hot deployment in WLS 8.1 SP4 as I am confused after reading the documentation.
    Can they both be individually enabled or disabled?
    Can I just disable Auto deployment and only use Hot deployment (or is hot deployment another name for manual deployment).
    I know in Jrun that you can add hot-deploy directories in Jrun console, where now when a developers put a new WAR file or an updated WAR file - the server automatically deploys/redeploys it at that moment (this hot deploy directory could be any directory on the server or even on a different NTFS drive on same server).
    Can this be achieved with WLS 8.1?
    Thanks
    J

    AutoDeployment automatically deploy/redeploy or undeploy the application when the application is put or removed from the applications folder under the wls domain directory. It is only available in Admin Server while it is running in development mode (default mode). It is not available if the Admin Server is running in Production mode.
    Hot deployment deals with updating the application modules like ejb or war inside an ear without redeploying the complete application. This is dependent on the classloader structure of the given application. So if a ear has a webapp and a ejb with default classloader structure, then only the webapp can be hot redeployed without complete application redeploy. It can be used for apps deployed on both Admin and Managed servers and is available for both production and development mode.
    Autodeployment is mainly to save the developer from running the deploy command every time while the app is being developed iteratively. Just copying the updated application in the applications folder will redeploy the app on the Admin server.
    Hot deployment is mainly used to update the individual modules or jsps/servlets/classes in a module without redeploying the complete app.

    Jerald, Oracle doesn't own this particular piece of code so I can't help too much since I have no real knowledge of it's working. It was built and used with earlier versions of WLS (8.1, 9.2) so it may not have tracked any changes made to libraries/packaging in WLS 10.0.
    Caused by: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: weblogic/rmi/extensions/RemoteRuntimeException
    at weblogic.deploy.api.tools.deployer.Deployer.runBody(Deployer.java:90)I see in WLS 10.3.x, that the class identified as missing is located in client JAR files:
    sbutton:~/Oracle/Middleware/wlserver_10.3 $ jwhich RemoteRuntimeException .
    Adding . to search path
    ./server/lib/wljmsclient.jar: weblogic.rmi.extensions.RemoteRuntimeException
    ./server/lib/wlthint3client.jar: weblogic.rmi.extensions.RemoteRuntimeException
    I don't have a 10.0 install so am not sure where it resides in that release.
    We have introduced a WebLogic Server Maven Plugin in our WLS 10.3.3 release which supports deployment operations. This is not supported/certified for working against a WLS 10.0 environment, but if you are using Maven and have an opportunity to update to a more recent release, then we have something which may be of use to you.

  • Help!! Auto-Deploy and Check For Updates in an OPMN-managed instance

    I'm trying to use the auto-deploy and check for updates functions in an OAS 10.1.0.3 but I can not make it work.
    I don't Know if this functions are only availables for a standalone OC4J instance.
    Can anyone help me??
    Thanks!!! and sorry for my poor english.

    Auto-Deploy is not really designed for an OPMN managed instance -- in earlier releases, this would not even work correctly since deployments where stored in the DCM subsystem and any subsequent configuration changes made via DCM would overwrite the config and you'd lose the "auto-deployed" application.
    In 10.1.3.x where DCM is no longer in the picture, and the auto-deploy polling is a function of Oc4J itself, it may work. Be aware that this is not something that is tested in OPMN managed environments.
    What configuration changes have you made?
    You need to ensure you have modified server.xml so the attribute check-for-updates="all" and you've added the attribute application-auto-deploy-directory and have it pointing at a directory to watch.

  • Automating VM Creation Post Auto Deploy

    I asked a similar question over on the vCenter forum but I'm thinking it might be wise to post in this forum as well.  I'm trying to figure out how to create a VM from a template after an ESXi auto deploy is complete.  I thought vRealize Automation might be the way to go but I'm also wondering if there's a better way.

    I was talking with a guy on IRC #vmware and he pointed to the vRealize Auto Deploy plug-in that might be the way to go.  Posting the link here in case anyone else needs it...

  • Precompile JSP and auto-deploy

    Hi!
    Before deploying our web-application we run it through 'ojscp' to pre-compile the JSP-pages.
    The we use the auto-deploy feature of OC4J.
    Work almost! - except the pre-compiled pasges are not deployed. A directory '_pages' are included in the war-file, but is not copied to the application-deployment directory (./persistence).
    I can copy by hand and the things work.
    It this a bug or have I missed something???
    I am using a stand-alone OC4J 9.0.3 (latest release).
    Kind Regards

    Klaus,
    Yes, we are aware of this issue/problem. We are working to fix this in 9.0.4.
    What you are currently doing as a workaround will work just fine. As an alternative, if you could try to pre-create _pages directory and then deploy.  I am not 100% sure if this alternative will work.. Will test out.. you may also want to try out.
