Auto detect/install j3d

Hi, i have an applet that use java and java3d, and i had modify the html page that load the applet with the htmlconverter from java, so if the users dont have java that install java automaticaly... but it didnt work with java3d, you have to install it manually.. so my question is, is there a way to add an option for auto-install of java3d????
thx a lot
p.s.: i posted this in the java3d forum and got no answer

i still don't have any hint on how to do this
i Found a tutorial on j3d.org, but was made in 2000. I've done all the step 1 by 1 and that din't work, so i supposed this tutorial isn't valid anymore.

  • When install printer driver via Bonjour, what information OS/CUPS communicate with printer firmware to auto-detect and find correct PPD to install?

    Hi guys,
We are developing printer driver/firmware for Mac OS X 10.5 and up. Right now we have problem that  printer firmware fail to be auto detected by Mac OS 10.5 during installation via Bonjour. Could anyone teach me how the communication works between OS/CUPS and printer F/W during the installation via Bonjour? What kind information the two sides exchange?
    Any input will be appreciated!

Sorry for the incorrect information. The OS should be Mac OS X 10.4 instead of 10.5

  • Mac wont mount disk images, and fails to auto detect some usb devices.

for some reason, all of a sudden, my mac won't mount disks. even disks I know in the past have worked.
also, it wont auto detect some external devices. especially jump drives and hard drives and audio interfaces. It has to be rebooted with the the devices connected.
I know its not a hardware problem, because everything runs smooth in windows on this computer.
I did some extensive cleaning recently, and installed a lot of new stuff, but i don't know what could be causing this.
any help would be greatly apreciated!

    This USB faq may help.
An SMC reset may help you mount disks.

  • Auto-detect/redirect script for JDK 1.6?

I work for a nonprofit organization and am in need of an auto-detect/redirect script. In order to hear the audio on specific pages, the computer needs to have JDK 1.6 installed on their computer. Is there a script I can insert in these pages so that if their computer does not have JDK1.6 installed, it will automatically give them a message that JDK 1.6 needs to be installed as well as a link to download it, if they want to hear the audio? If they do have JDK 1.6, there is an automatic redirect to go directly to the page they clicked to see and hear.
Thanks in advance for your time and consideration.

When using -target it is best to also set the bootclasspath to include the JAR files of the release you are targetting. The compiler has found the new method taking an int in the newer JAR file and so compiled for that. If it was looking at the old class it wouldn't have found the (int) version so it would have generated the (double) version.

  • Text Encoding (Big 5) not being auto-detected

I just had to reinstall OS X (10.4, the upgraded to 10.4.9) due to a bad crash. In Safari (2.0.4), I tried to view a particular page.
    http://www.ettoday.com/
This is a Big-5 (chinese) encoded page; I have my Default Text Encoding set to Western (ISO Latin 1), and the page looks garbled when I try to view it, unless I go to View->Text Encoding->Traditional Chinese (Big 5), and then it displays correctly. My question is, why isn't this encoding being auto-detected and display correctly without manually setting it? Looking at the source, about 22 lines down there is this:
    <meta http-equiv="ªF´Ë·s»D³ø" content="text/html; charset=big5">
which looks like the appropriate specification of the encoding. Can someone who has chinese fonts installed please verify this? Is this something Safari is doing wrong, or possibly something got lost in my system reinstall (to tell the truth, I can't recall specifically if this was a problem prior to my crash).
    Thanks,
    David

Ok, thank you. I gave up trying to understand html right around when the "blink" tag came out, and I just get paranoid every time I do a reinstall that I'm missing some critical part. I like the validator-- never knew about that.
Now, if you do a search on the source code for that ETToday page, somewhere far down you'll come to another section that reads:
    <head>
    <title>Untitled Document</title>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=big5">
    blah blah blah
This does appear to be properly formatted, and maybe it's there specficially for English-default browsers. However, perhaps neither Safari nor the validator are picking up this, or maybe it's referring to something else altogether?
    thanks,

  • Button "Auto-detect my system" won't show on Lenovos Support Site...

    Hi.
Since lately I'm using Vista Ultimate on a T61p. After running Rescue and Recovery factory settings I tried to automatically identify my ThinkPad on the Lenovo Support Site. I installed the ActiveX Plugin but nothing happend. After that I upgraded the Internet Explorer to version 8, but I am still missing the button "Auto-detect my system". Are there any other suggestions? Thanks.

I think you can run version 3.6:
    http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all-older
I just read today about a separately maintained, unofficial version of Firefox for 10.4 users called TenFourFox. They are somehow repackaging the latest Firefox to work on 10.4 (''on non-Intel Macs''). You might want to research it and see whether it makes sense for you: http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox/

  • Fax to Email using the Same DID (Auto Detect) Cisco 2911 GW

Have a Customer that is wanting a Call into a DID that will Auto Detect the Fax tone and email that particular fax User's Email address using the same DID as their phone.
The system we are installing is CUCM 10.X and CUC 10.X on a UCS C220.  They have PRI's.
    * For Unity Connection to do this, it requires a Fax Server as far as we know.  We read that Cisco had a Feasable method Natively on CUC, but nothing real concrete as to the steps to get that working without a Fax Server.
    * For an IOS gateway to perform Fax detection, there is a 9 Second Call Delay (Major inconvenience) that must process before delivering the call as either Voice or Fax.  This would be for 90 user's, which could be an issue.
What would need to be done in the Gateway to get this working if we went the Native method?
     Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks

I've never done this natively in CUC.  Here's a guide that covers how to do it with the Fax server integration if that helps:

  • Where can I read the proxy settings Firefox chose, when configured to use "Auto-detect proxy settings for this network"?

I would like to set my system network proxy settings to those, Firefox chose. Firefox is configured to use "Auto-detect proxy settings for this network" and this works fine. How can I read out the settings Firefox chose, so I can adapt these system?

    Hello Richard,
Download MozBackup and make a backup of your bookmarks and passwords. Uninstall firefox and remove ALL folders with the name "Firefox".
Install Firefox and restore your bookmarks and passwords. Now you should have a fresh install so you have to make all settings again.

  • My Firefox always changes Network settings to 'Use Manual Proxy' after every PC restart, even if I change the option to No Proxy/Auto detect proxy.

My Firefox 4 always changes the Network settings to '''Manual Proxy Configuration''' after every PC restart. I have to always go to connections and change this setting to '''No Proxy''' or '''Auto Detect Proxy Settings for this network'''.
I also tried to revert the values back to default values by using about:config and changing modified values back to default. But it still doesn't works out.
    Kindly help.
    Thank you.

I had this too, I tried running Firefox in safe mode (no add ons) - that didn't make any difference. I could save other preferences, just not the proxy setting. I'm 99.99% sure I didn't have a virus or other malware. This was only affecting Firefox, no other browser I has installed.
In the end I created a new profile - http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Managing%20profiles - that seems to have 'fixed' it for me - the new profile doesn't have the problem, but the old one still does.
    Windows 7, Firefox 4.01.

  • Extremely slow data access on auto detected NAS drive

I have a 27 inch iMac connected to a home network, on which I recently installed a Seagate Central NAS drive.  When Finder automatically finds the drive under Shared, it wants to automatically log me into the drive as "Guest" instead of the administrator user I created on the Seagate drive.  As Guest, the access time is extremely slow (takes minutes to display a list of folders).  However, when I use Finder's Go>Connect to Server, it allows me to enter and remember my userid and password, and the response time in accessing folders and files is extremely fast.  How can I get the auto detection to allow me to login with my userid and password in the same manner that I login using Go>Connect to Server, so I get fast data access on the drive?

    Hi, see if this helps...
Do the Connect to Server route, then...
If they in fact do show up on the Desktop, then create a new Folder maybe named Shares on/in the Desktop, drag all those Shares shown on the Desktop to that Folder, drag that Folder to the right side of the Dock between Applications & Trash, this should give you a popup menu to select from.:-)
Mount that Share once, then once the Globe Icon shows up on the Desktop, drag that Globe Icon to the right side of the Dock between Applications & Trash. You now have a Dynamic Mount, a quick click on the Icon in the Dock will connect you.
    On the multiple Shortcuts...
Mount them all, when show up on the Desktop, then create a new Folder maybe named Shares on/in the Desktop, drag all those Shares shown on the Desktop to that Folder, (you can even rename them once there, if you wish), drag that Folder to the right side of the Dock between Applications & Trash, this should give you a popup menu to select from.:-)
To automount them, drag those Aliases to the Accounts Pref Pane's Login Items Window.

  • SL500 stuck in the Auto-Detecting AHCI PORT 0

HELP... My laptop SL500 installed Intel 530 SSD 240GB, the boot stuck in the Auto-Detecting AHCI PORT 0 ... For a long time, even if the firmware update too, request LENOVO released new BIOS improvements.
    Moderator Note; subject edited

Ya, the iPod is soaked and you are getting connections between various pins and points on the electronics. So what to do is what the other poster said, turn it off and just forget about it for a week or two.
Do you have a clothes drier at home for laundry? If so, next time you do laundry, after you dry your clothes and take them out, while the drier is still warm, put the iPod inside and close the door (do NOT turn it on of course).
But basically I think you have to wait for it to dry out. If you are comfortable with it, you might want to open up the iPod (crack open the case) and let it sit open for a few days.

  • Bios Crash while auto-detecting SATA!

Greetings! I just bought a new system (species follow bellow) with a K8N SLI Platinum board. I noticed a huge bug in my bios (v 3.0, original and latest available at present). While auto-detecting any SATA drives, bios crashes and strange characters are written at the bottom of the screen (se pictures). It makes no difference if there are any IDE drives plugged in no not, (I’ve tried removing all, even ATA and Floppy). This error make it a hard time for windows to boot properly from my sata drive and I wonder if this really could be just an early version bio bug, or if it’s something physically wrong with my board.
Of course I’ve tried a lot of different bios setups, even flashing the bios with the same version downloaded with DigiCell, but nothing seams to affect the case.
I took a few (blurry) pictures of the crash which are available at http://www.ekhagen.org/temp/msi_k8n_bios
Any suggestions are appreciated, I really don’t like to return my board to the seller if it’s not necessary, but I rather not stay with this problem forever.
    System specifications:
    MSI K8N SLI Platinum
    AMD Athlon 64 3000+ 1.8 GHz Socket 939
2*512 mb TwinMOS PC3200 DDR-DIMM (tried with other manufacturers too, as well as changing memory slot around according to the recommended memory combinations, and no difference)
    Asus EN6600GT GeForce 6600GT 128MB PCI-E
Sata hrd drive: Samsung SpinPoint P80 160GB

OK. I'm empty of ideas of how to go forward with this now, so I just write the story and hope that someone can help. You have to excuse my spelling, since I don't have any spell-checking on this computer I guess there will be a lot of errors.
I Followed the FAQ mentioned abowe as well as possible (the bios of my SLI Platinum seamed to be slightly different, i.e, settings placed in different submenus, compared to the bios refered to in the FAQ). Here is tre result:
The bios-part of the setup went really well, after defining a RAID array the strange bios craches when auto-detecting sata-disks dissapeard and everything else went as expected. But there the good parts ended. All other bios settings was unchanged after loading failsafe defaults.
I started the installation of windows (a swedish XPsp2) but after loading the nvidia sata-drives from the floppy, just before the first installation menu screen appears, the windows setup craches and the computer reboot. I tried the latest winXPx64 downloaded directly from Microsoft and the same thing happens when trying to install (for the raid-driver disk I took the nessesery files from the Nvidia nForce 64-bit installation package and put on a floppy).
After some retrys with different settings in windows I was able to se the blue-screen instead of directly rebooting and it said MACHENE_CHECK_EXCEPTION. This havn't told me much so far since this exception seams to occur by a milion different reasons, often related to hardware errors or incompability. Finally I ran into the OnBoard Sil3132 Mode setting, found under Integrated Periferials -> Onborde Device. This was set to SATA as default, but when I changed it to RAID the windows setup no longer crached before the first menu, and I was able to complete the first part of the setup corectly (until the first reboot).
After reboot I simply recieve a black screen instead of windows loading. After a couple of retrys, again switching settings in bios as well as changing sata-channel for my hd, I by coincidence leave the black screen alone for a couple of minutes, and then finally windows manage too boot corectly and the installation continues. While installing devices, just after worning that the nvidia raid-drivers being installed havn't passed the windows driver control, the screen blinks, as is does when identifying new video drivers, whereby the familar blue screen with the MACHENE_CHECK_EXCEPTION appears.
Here I'm stuck, I'm not even shore that the MACHENE_CHECK_EXCEPTION is realted to the other problems with sata. I've tried changing ram without result, and I do not have much other things inside the computer, except my GeForce 6600GT and the Entermax 430w power supply, which I have no replaces for.

  • Upon startup Firefox says "Proxy is refusing connections." When I select "Auto-Detect Proxy" from Advanced settings and solve problem, changes are not saved and upon next startup I must select again...!

Firefox 4 was working fine. Then one day, when I started up Firefox, it says "Proxy is refusing connections." I solved this by selecting "Auto-Detect Proxy" from Advanced network settings, but my changes are not saved and upon every start-up I must select it again! (I even completely removed my webroot antivirus protection, as it as hindering many proxy related programs, but this seems to not be the source of the problem)

You can find the connection settings in Tools > Options > Advanced : Network : Connection
If you do not need to use a proxy to connect to internet then select "No Proxy"

  • IMac always auto detects for external monitors after waking from sleep or from display off

I've got a Dell 24" monitor (2408WFP) plugged into my mid 2011 iMac via DVI cord and thunderbolt attachment. Things work fine.
When I need to leave my computer, I usually turn the displays off using the shortcut keys: CTRL + SHIFT + EJECT
This works perfectly and both displays go black. However, when I return to my computer and reactivate the iMac, the iMac display will turn blue as if I have just plugged in a new monitor even the external monitor is still plugged in. It usually flashes blue twice before displaying the password prompt. I can usually just log back in as normal. I've never had this happen before using Snow Leopard. It's annoying but strange.
However, even more strange is that sometimes when returning to the desktop, the iMac will do the auto detect display thing and then when I log back in, the external display just shows static as if there is no signal. I've checked the cable a million times and everything is as tight as tight can be and both ends are plugged in properly. Unplugging the displayport adapter from the iMac and then reattaching it restores the desktop on the secondary display although sometimes, it results in the secondary display showing a gray background picture instead of my normal picture. Replugging the secondary display seems to fix that too although sometimes it doesn't.
    Why is this happening?
    - Problem with the adapter?
    - Problem with the DVI cable I'm using?
    - Compatibility issues with my external monitor?
I need to stress the point that this has never happened before with Snow Leopard.
If I am the only one experiencing this then I suppose it may be an issue with the iMac or adapter or even the cable. But if anyone else can shed light on this problem, I'd really appreciate it.

    Hi Micheal,
I've been experiencing the exact same issue with my new iMac I just bought.  I bought it refurb so I wasn't sure if it was a defect with the hardware or not.  Since I'm not the only one I will asume it's not for now.
    Setup:
    - iMac 27-inch 3.4GHz (Release May 2011)
    - Dell 2709W external monitor
    - Hooked in with mini display port to DVI adapter
    - Lion 10.7.3 all up to date to this day
From what I've been able to gather the issue presents itself only when my Dell 2709W enters "Power Save Mode" after I do CTRL + SHIFT + EJECT or when the diplays simply goes to sleep by themselves.
Although if I hit that combination and the displays goes to sleep but I don't wait long enough for my Dell monitor to actually "Power Save Mode" (wait like 2 sec) then touch the keyboard then the 2 displays (iMac and Dell) resumes from sleep without the issue presenting itself.
I'm tempted to buy the mini-display port to HDMI just to see if the issue is still present with that adapter.  If I do I'll update my post with the outcome.
If anyone else has any info to help with this issue it would be greatly appreciated.  It's very annoying when you resume from sleep and you find all of your windows that where opened on the external display before sleep squeezed into your main display (iMac).
    Thanks!
