Auto Fetching Email whem locked

Hi Im reposting this as i think this is a better name for my problem.. As the subject lines says my ipod will no longer auto fetch email when its locked... Has anyone else got this problem and have you found a fix?

Others have reported this as a v.2.1 issue. I have not been able to duplicate the problem, either on my IPT or iPhone. However, you might try force-quitting Mail (with the app open, press and hold the home button until you return to the home screen.

IPhone fetches email from lock screen

I have all of my email accounts set to manual fetch/push. It works perfectly.
However, on occasion the iPhone will fetch my email as I'm quitting and app or push the sleep button before putting the iPhone in my pocket.
I suspect it's some shortcut or gesture. Does anyone have any idea what's happening.

While on the lock screen, double tap the home button, the camera button is there.

IPod Touch (4) does not automatically fetch email

My iPod Touch 4 does not fetch email unless I force it to. Push is off and my mail accounts are all working (MobileMe & Gmail).
I've tried everything and the device just sits there, even though it is set to fetch new emails every 15 minutes.
Any idea why? Also, does auto-lock interfere with fetch?

I believe you need to have "Push" turned on. Try that and see what happens

Is it possible to delay the auto provisioning email? If yes, how?
We have a scenario where security needs to perform certain tasks post user account set-up before the user logs on to the system (we don't want to auto provision & lock the user) and want to delay the automatic email sent to the user. Is this possible?

Here is the email content:
Your request #_!AUTO_PROVISION_REQNO#_! provisioning has been done. Your account has been created. Your ID is #_!AUTO_PROVISION_ID#_! Your password in each system (Password/System):#_!AUTO_PROVISION_PASSWORD#_!
It is part of cleanandinsert xml file, which comes with the installation. You can search for this and change the email content.

HT2625 My iPhone 4 has been re-fetching emails which I had previously deleted. How can I get this to stop? It is costing me data charges.

My iPhone4 has been re-fetching emails which I had previously deleted, causing me to have to delete them again, at which point another 200 old messages show up. This is eating into my data allowance.

You can either go to your webmail site and delete the old emails off the server so they can't be re-fetched, or assuming this is a POP account, change your settings for deleting email off the incoming server when you retreive your email (which will also make them unavailable for retreival from other devices such as your computer).

How can I get back Mail Auto-Complete email addresses?

After upgrading to Mountain Lion, my Mail no longer works with the auto-complete of email address.
My Contacts.app works fine, it just seems that Mail is no longer able to 'read' from my Contacts.
I use iCloud and everything was great for years. Mail preferences is set to Auto-Complete email address from my Contacts.
Not sure how the problem started, but I launched Mail on a 2nd computer - on the same iCloud.
Shortly after I did that, my 1st Mac no longer auto-completes email. I'm unsure if that is what set off the problem.
Also, I 'did' read Tom Nelson's article which did not work since it's not an 'alias' problem:

Also, there doesn't appear to be a com.apple.mail.plist preferences file I can even delete in Mountain Lion.

I had the same issue. After reading this solution I started poking around in the Container folder and found that there was a symlink for AddressBook that was messed up which was causing the problem. In ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.mail/Data/Library/Application Support I ran:
$ cd ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.mail/Data/Library/Application\ Support
$ ls -lh
AddressBook -> ??/???7??ʪ?????VT???;??\G[?:??:??????T?_Ү??
CrashReporter
Mail
SyncServices -> ../../../../../Application Support/SyncServices
iCloud -> ../../../../../Application Support/iCloud
Seeing the aliases for SyncServices and iCloud, I guessed correctly that I just needed to recreate the AddressBook alias to point to the right place. So I just removed the alias for AddressBook, recreated it, restarted Mail, and it worked perfectly. (Note: I did the following to remove the alias, and recreate it. You should confirm what you are removing is an alias. You should also always make sure you have a backup.)
$ cd ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.mail/Data/Library/Application\ Support
$ rm AddressBook
$ ln -s ../../../../../Application\ Support/AddressBook AddressBook
Obviously, DrewSchatt's original solution to this works as well, but this way you don't have to delete the whole folder, resetting your preferences and possibly delete something else important (only recreating the alias, not deleting any files or data).

If you mean that when you start to enter an email address it completes the address with the incorrect one then the answer is no without restoring the iPad to factory defaults/new iPad.

'Fetch' email slow or not working since os4 upgraded

Having upgraded to the new iphone os4, I have had issues regarding 'fetch' email messages. Simply, I have "fetch' enabled for three email accounts set to 'every 15 mins' but I only get new emails when I go into email and iphone checks for new mail. Eg. I had a colleague send me a message at 14.54 but I manually checked my email at 17.05 and the message only then came through.
It should have 'fetched' that mail very soon after it was sent and left a red number 1 showing on the mail icon. Did it again later the same day..
Btw my phone also decided to shut down twice during a phone call at the weekend.
I use my phone for getting important client mail when I'm out and about so could miss important/urgent info or job requests..
Anyone had same?
Is there a fix?

I had a similar problem, as I wasn't receiving any new emails on my IP4. I would receive new emails at home on my MBP, but not on the iPhone.
My fix was on the MBP.
Go to Mail/Preferences/Accounts/Advanced and uncheck the box that states "Remove copy from server after retrieving a message".
This now allows new emails to be seen at home on my MBP, on my iPhone and on my IPS's email server.
Hope this helps with your problem.

Mail 4.4 Reply Forward Icon Not Displaying for Auto-generated emails

Does anyone have a problem with Mail 4.4...
For auto generated emails (system generated or confirmation emails), when forwarded these email, little icon on the left that pops up, its just simply not showing up...???!!!
And for the all other emails it works like it should...

I finally figured out how to make this work for 2 accounts on exchange. I created my main account and then adding another account that I'm delegated for within the account. I also tried my main account and adding IMAP account with still no luck. What I ended up doing was adding two separate exchange accounts and named them appropriately. This solved the problem of sent messages going to the proper sent items folder and arrows appearing for Reply and Forward email responses on all machines. Works like a charm

I have a requirement in which i have to fetch email-id of users from a Z-table based on workcenter (for Tcode IW31/32) value.
The Z-table contains the Workcenter - Email Id combination.
I have the work center value in my workflow container using the BO BUS2088, now how to fetch the email-id from the Z-table at runtime?
I thought of using a rule which in turn would call a FM and in FM I was fetching the value, but the Email-ID fetched is longer than the standard return parameter - ACTOR_TAB-OBJID (only 12 characters long).
How can i achieve this feature of dynamic assignment of email-id based on the value from Z-table ?

And i am trying all sorts of approaches to pass data from WF container to my task, but not getting success.
I even created a class YNEWCLASS with a method YGETDATA and 2 parameters- ACTUALLYPROCBY to take workcenter value from task to method and EMAIL to send the value back to task. but while putting the value for OBJECT CATEGORY for task ( where I select ABAP Class and give class and method name) it gives an error - Interface implementation IF_WORKFLOW does not exist.
I tried using the BOR object method also but in that I am facing type mismatch while binding the task and WF.
Any helpful material from where I can learn how to pass data between WF container and task and vice-versa.

CUP - Editing Auto Provisioning Email Content

Hi,
I am looking into the possibility of editing the content of the Auto Provisioning email that is automatically sent out after user creation is done. Our policy is to send User ID and Password in separate emails.
Below not provides some insight into editing the initial data XML file AE_init_clean_and_insert_data.

Questions I have:
1) If editing this XML file and re-loading will over-write the workflow configuration, then do I have to manually reconfigure all our workflows again or is there an option to export the workflow configuration and the import it back after re-loading the XML file? Which all existing configuration will be overwritten by reloading this file?
2) If at some point in time we decide to revert back to the standard XML file provided by SAP, then we again fall into the same issue as in the above question. What is best approach?
If anyone has experience in implementing the above note, then can you please provide some insight?

Your workflows wont be effected. If you however wanted to export the workflows you could do so along with intial system configuration under intial system data, roles and connectors.
If you want to export workflows alone, you can only export the initiators.

Auto fetching lyrics within the program

Hi,
I was just about ready to give up on iTunes since so many other players are more fully featured like Song Bird. BUT after a couple of weeks with iTunes gone from the system and missing some of the features I decided to give in and download and install the newest version. WOW... it's so so cool. I love it allot better than the older interface. Took about an hour of discovering things but find the organization and other updated tools greatly improved.
There is one thing that still seems to be missing. Auto Fetch Lyrics when a song is playing. There are so many databases out there and most of those other players have something set up within the program that when say .... Madonna "Cherish" comes on the the side panel slides open to reveal the lyrics. Been very helpful when trying to learn a song and realizing you've been singing the wrong words all along! lol Please add this to your list.
From what I've read the only way around this right now is to right click and "Get Info" and in the lyrics tab but often times there are no lyrics and well when you have a large library going on line and looking up all those titles one by one is just not an option and too time consuming. That should be your dept, making the user experience more delightful.
If there is an auto fetch lyrics feature hidden in the program please let me know.
