AUTO-FILL DAYS, WEEKS, ETC IN HEADER ROWS?

I'm new to Discussions and to iWork '08. In Numbers, is there an easy way to auto-fill the days, weeks, years, etc. in the header rows and columns? Thanks

Welcome to the world of Numbers. We hope we can get you started.
I'm not sure this is what you're looking for, but if you type in the first date of your sequence in a row (or column) header, format it to your needs in the Inspector > Cell, and then drag that cell down (or across) the header, you will get consecutive dates. You do this by dragging the black cross which covers the little circle at the lower right corner of the cell when you click on it.
If this is not what you mean, perhaps you could be more specific.

  • Auto fill passwords is no go

I know this has been discussed a billion times but I can't get in any answers by reading the old posts. Since I'm brand new to Mac this "key chain" deal is just about the most dumbest thing I have ever seen (can you tell I'm ******) lol
I have been a PC user for years. I could type one password in Norton Identy Safe and the computer automatically  logged in to pay my bills, forums, and online banking, everything....not with a Mac!!???
I use strong passwords in which they are difficult to type much less remember.
I have brand new MBP 13" with Lion 10.7.4 and have tried keychains, auto fill is "on", etc....
I manually build keychains and they will not work.
It was doing good at first by asking would I like to remember passwords, username, but it quit. I mean it actually autofilled there for a short period of time but "poof" its gone now. Everything is still there in keychains...just not working.
    Help would be greatly appreciated!
    thanks

I've got the same problem. Migration Assistant moved everything else over okay, but for some reason Safari can't connect to all the usernames and passwords that are stored in the Keychain. iChat could and NetNewsWire could... but the AutoFill stuff just isn't working. And I'm looking at all of them in Keychain Access right now!

  • How to repeat binding dates in header row when tadaset in table must be paginated?

I need to make a form which is filled by XDP file (this file is made by other SW (payroll)).
This form contains table. There are some binded (filled) text fields in a header row and some filled text fields in a body row. (For example - name is in header row, some personal dates are in body row). Body row is dynamic, count of body rows is different for each name.
When the table overflows the page, I need to repeat the header row with name on the second page.
And here is a problem. Header row is repeated, but text field (with name) is empty.
Files for example are : http://www.ulozto.net/soubory/strelenkas/documents/
    Thank you very much

  • BIG problems with iOS 8.2 Safari ("dark mode" menu bar, no auto-fill, etc)... HELP, please?

So I was simply wiping the dust off my screen, with Safari open, and once I had finished... Safari just went belly-up.
And I need some help badly.
First thing that I noticed was that Safari now has a "dark mode" menu bar.
Secondly, my auto-fill user names and passwords no longer "auto-fill" - I have to place the cursor in a field and have the keyboard pop up in order to access the auto-fill function: previously, the fields simply, well, auto-filled.
And, thirdly, when I attempt to post a message to the Apple Support Communities, there is no visible text in the body of the text. I'm using my MacBook Pro to type this message.
I have searched and searched to try to find remedies to my problems, but I can't find a thing. There's nothing unusual in Accessibility (that would make the whole screen, for example, grayscale), nothing changed in passwords, etc.
I'm at my wits end! Even restoring from an older backup doesn't remedy any of the problems.
    Can anyone help?

If the menu bar at the top of Safari show white text on a grey background, and autofill isn't working, then you probably have private browsing 'on'. Tap the icon top right of the Safari screen (the square on top of a second square), tap the Private button at the top of the next screen and then Done - Safari should then go back to its normal colours and autofill should work again

  • Upgraded to 8.3, now auto fill is not working. I have checked, rechecked my info, saved passwords, etc. to no avail. Is this bug in 8.3. Never did this until I upgraded.

Upgraded IPad to to 8.3, now auto fill is not working. I have checked, rechecked "my info", "saved passwords", etc. to no avail. Is this bug in 8.3. Never did this until I upgraded. Wife is not happy I upgraded!

Auto fill works for me in iOS 8.3.
Try the standard troubleshooting steps in this order:
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after It shuts down, press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10-15 seconds). No data will be lost.
Restore: Connect your device to iTunes on your computer, backup, and then select Restore to Factory.
See here for more details on restore: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201252
If none of these work your device may have developed a hardware problem. Contact Apple Support: http://www.apple.com/contact/

  • How do I restore my toolbar with spell-check,auto-fill, etc.

The Google Toolbar '''7.1.20110512W''' version does work pretty good in Firefox 5.0 by using the Compatibility Reporter extension. But not every feature works 100%.<br />

  • I upgraded an lost all my links and tools -- no auto fill, no direct tab to google email news etc.

I no longer have an icon for auto fill, email, news -- I have to put a search in the web browser window to get to my gmail account (terribly frustrating and time consuming) or a search to get to google news. And I have to fill all forms again and again.

what a pain! However, the solution is to simply install the Add-On "Autofill Forms". I'm not certain why Mozilla didn't automatically install the add-on as most of us rely on this feature. It's definitely not a good enough reason to uninstall and reinstall an earlier version and this version has some neat features

  • Auto-Filling Dates on a Blank Calendar

    Hello All,
        I have a blank calendar with each day block having a form for the numeric day.  I am trying to have the blocks auto-fill so that when the user enters day "1" the remaining days will auto-fill there respective number.  I have already figured out the "+1" script I need to link them;
    event.value = ( getField("Day_1_Date").value)+1
However, I assume I need an "IF/THEN" statement so the prior unused blocks preceeding day "1" will be blank.  If anyone has a better suggestion or can help me out with the latter I would appreciate it.  Thanks in advance!

    A couple of clarification points.
    1) It's a single month calendar with 6 rows for weeks (allowing for any months that start on a Friday or Saturday.
    2) Each form for the numeric date is labeled "Day_x_Date" (x= the block number 1-42)
I have it now that if I put in the first day in block #1, all of the remaining fields are daisy chained using the above java script (#2 looks to #1, #3 looks to#2, etc).  What I want is for the user to be able to enter the first day (wherever it may fall) then the rest of the fields would auto-fill.  To end it on the right date,  I assume an "If/Then" with a range up to the end date would work.
I also have a block to fill the month in.  It might work to link the end date to the month. For example if May is entered the statement would allow up to 31 but if June were entered it would only go up to 30.  I am still very new to javascript and I'm a little (a lot) over my head with this one.  New territory from just making forms on a PDF.

  • Auto-filling proceeding fields from user's initial input - Possible? How?

    Hi there,
I'm quite new to LiveCycle (and scripting). That being said, I'm trying to create some automation in forms for work.
I've been asked to create a product order form in which the Order Administrator would choose the product from a list of Product Codes. Once s/he chooses the Product Code [numeric field] from this list, the Product Description [text field] appears right next to it, and then the Product Price [numeric field] would populate the last field. I will duplicate this over multiple rows into a table, then autosum the last column which should be filled with various product prices, taxes, S&H, etc. (autosumming the Price field is easy enough - this is not my issue so let's just focus on the major concern of auto-filling descriptions and prices for now...)
    For e.g.
    Product Code
    Description
    Price
6759-85746-098 [Order Admin chooses from list]
Large textbook (x1) [Automatically inputs based on Product Code]
    $30.00 [Auto-inputs from Product Code]
    5864-98723-124
    Black pens (x10/set)
    $5.25
I've tried for days to figure out how to script this, going through numerous forums, printing off reams of Adobe help documents, trying to learn Java and/or FormCalc in solitude, and yet I still can't figure this out. To explain, I'm not a coder/developer but a print-focused graphic designer.
If anyone knows how I can solve this I'd be very grateful. I'm now wondering if a) I need to somehow connect (bind?) the information in an external database or sheet (Excel?), b) figure out some elaborate script that would automate these descriptions and prices, and/or c) bang my head against the wall in fruitless frustration.
Thanks for any help anyone can offer.

A simple example.  May not meet your needs depending on the number of products.
    Droplist named ProductCode
Text Fields named Description and Price
Java Script the droplist on the change event
    if (xfa.event.newText=="5864-98723-124")
    {Description.rawValue="Black Pens"
    Price.rawValue="$5.25"

  • Is header row/columns behavior documented anywhere?

Would someone please direct me to a guide on how header row/columns work?
It's clear they work differently, but how?
I'd like to create columns that increment in months, quarter, etc. I know how to do that with cells, not not header rows. If you put a date in a cell and copy it out it increments by days. There must be a way to increment by months quarters, etc.
But that's not my real question. The question is what are all the features of a header row / column? I can find nothing in the user guide.
    Thanks!

From what I can tell the only purpose of header cells is for printing. Otherwise, especially considering their massive side effects, they should be avoided.
They should never be used on or in formulas. If you enter a formula in them they will populate the whole row / column with the formula and then disappear. What is the logic in that?
Most of the time I uses header row to enter formulas only once.
Of course, we must take time to study the functions but it's a normal requirement.
If you enter =ROW() in B1 (in header row) you will get an auto incremented number.
    If you enter
=DATE(2008,12,30)+row() you will get an auto incremented date.

  • How do i get auto fill to work in numbers

hi i have a list of text in my spreadsheet colume that changes on each line. please tell me how to use auto fill thus allowing me not to write the same taxt over and over

please tell me how to use auto fill thus allowing me not to write the same taxt over and over
    Hi Dakota2710,
I also agree that the attitude toward finding ways to work with Numbers 3 could sometimes be a little more positive and helpful.
    Regarding your question:
That behavior, now called "autocomplete text in cells", has disappeared from Numbers 3.0 but Apple says it will reintroduce it sometime within the next six months.
Meanwhile, If you frequently enter repeating values in a column and don't want to type the same text over and over again you could consider formatting the cells in the column as Pop-Up Menu. In many situations this has clear advantages over "autocomplete."  It's easy to set up:
If you've selected the whole column before formatting as Pop-Up Menu, your existing values in that column will pre-populate a menu automatically:
Then you remove the values you don't want in the list, such as the column header (and possibly some previous spelling errors too!):
And after this easy one-time setup all you have to do thereafter is to choose from the pop-up list when you add rows:
In Numbers 3.0 there's no keyboard shortcut to activate the menu such as hitting the spacebar in the old Numbers (hope they'll add one in upcoming versions) but the Pop-Up Menu approach has some advantages over autocompletion: no spelling errors or lack of capitalization when there should be capitalization, etc.
And should you ever want to take your Numbers with you, in a touch interface pop-ups are much more efficient than typing the first few letters of items.
See this thread for this and other workarounds for Numbers 3.0.

  • Safari Auto-login/ Auto-fill problem

    Hi!
I recently updated my safari after which I have been unable to auto login to my yahoo, gmail etc accounts. I have checked my safari preferences and all 3 auto-fill webform tabs are clicked. Also, when I go into yahoo, it does not prompt me to ask if i want to save my password. For my other accounts e.g gmail, they prompt me and my password + user-ids are still saved, just that i have to press the sign in button.
Also, it stays signed it as long as i am on safari. However, if I were to quit safari and use safari again, it goes back to square one and no longer keeps me signed it.
What can I do to enable safari to auto-login for all my accounts?
    Thanks!

I have asked a similar question several times before, and I have the answers varied from the typical I do not have that problem to its a security feature incorporated in Safari.
I tend to think it is a new feature added ito safari n the last several months (via an update).
The bottom line is I am NO longer able to stay logged into various websites if I quit safari, even though the websites have the feature available that should allow a user to stay logged in for 2 weeks.
The only way I can now stay logged in for an extended period of time is to NEVER quit Safari.
That is not an option for me.

  • Header rows

Is there a way I can save table header row content as part of a table tag?
Or is there some other way I can save a blank table (but which includes the header row content) for reuse on various multiple pages throughout a document?

This problem is one of the main reasons I wrote Auto-Text. You can define a table (with formatting, header/footer rows, canned text, etc.) as an Auto-Text item, and then just paste it in with a single menu choice or keyboard shortcut. I use the keyboard shortcuts myself.
The sample Auto-Text document has a table defined if you want to see how it works.
It might be a good solution for you, especially if you have several predefined table formats. (I have 5 in the document sets I manage)

  • Auto-Fill Not Filling

I am running Mac OS 10.8.5 with Safari 6.1. The Auto Fill function was working fine a few days ago. Now when I attempt to fill out any form on the web, the Auto Fill pop-up window does appear but when I click on it, no fields are filled. It should at least recognize and fill certain fields with my basic information from the my Contacts (e.g. name, address, etc.). Sometimes the Auto Fill pop-up window will disappear when I click out of it, other times the window stays like it's stuck. If I close that particular widow/session, it will go away.
I did ran the latest OS updates a few days ago. I restart my iMac and reset Safari. Nothing seems to fix that problem.

I did both of the things suggested and it has fixed the problem. Thank you both very much! :D

  • Turning Off Address Bar Auto-Fill

I do not want the address bar to auto fill. How do I turn it off.

Tom .. No, I was just using google. Not http etc.
I really think that was enough last week. We messed with some of
the network settings lately in an attempt to set up ethernet connection
to old machine. I bet that is what changed things.
Yang .. I did what you said. No Joy! Thanks anyway.
How does this work for other tiger users?
Maybe I'm wrong about it working last week?
Typing .com every time isn't the end of the world. But
it would be nice if the Imac would do it.
    Later....Johnny
