Auto-fill username and password?

When I sign into a website firefox used to ask if I want my username and password to be remembered but has stopped that feature. How do I get firefox to activate that feature again so it will
remember my username and password when I open the sign-in page again?

Make sure that you do not run Firefox in permanent Private Browsing mode.
To see all History and Cookie settings, choose:
*Tools > Options > Privacy, choose the setting <b>Firefox will: Use custom settings for history</b>
*Deselect: [ ] "Always use private browsing mode"
The website may be using autocomplete=off to prevent Firefox from saving the name and password.
You can remove autocomplete=off with a bookmarklet to make Firefox save the name and password.

  • Code for filling username and password prompted by other application

    Hallo friends...
I am bit new to java..
I need to start few softwares like CAD applications thru java. Few applications prompt user name & password. Is it possible to get the prompt window and automaticall fillin the username, password and then activate the OK button. Appreciate any hints / sample codes...
    Thanks and Regards
    Arun

that would depend on the application.
Screen scraping APIs may exist that can help you with this, but that's an ugly and errorprone way to do things.
Better contact the company that created the application and see what kind of APIs they have to control the thing remotely.
I know that's possible with Autocad (though I don't know if it's possible directly from Java), I'd be surprised if their major competitors don't offer similar capabilities.

  • Autoemail autogenerated usernames and passwords

This is a project requiring users setting up accounts and waiting to be emailed their usernames and passwords for logging in to their allocated portion of the database.
How do I get the database to auto-generate usernames and passwords and as well as to auto-send to the prospective user.
Any other simpler method would be welcomed.
    Much appreciation in advance.
    Ayo

Is the userid/password keyed in by the user when tried to create Account. If no, then come with the logic to create UserID and Password. After the account is successfully created. Write a trigger (after insert) on the corresponding table where the account information is stored. This trigger will have the logic to create userid and password. And finally use, utl_smtp to send email.

  • Auto mySQL connectivity(Username and Password)

    Hey guys!
    Good Day!
I have something to ask if possible to java and mySQL connectivity.
I have project that connects to mysql but im using this:
    "+con1 = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:mysql://localhost/POS_Database","root", "12345");+"
Now, how to auto config the mysql connection not setting the username and password in the project? It configure whatever the settings of mySQL (username and password).

you will have to have the user name and password someware. If not in the code. You casn put them in a file and read it in the code.
Another thing that you can do is to make every user account of your software a valid user in the database. So when the user logs in to software users user name and the password is what you have to use to connect to database. But that will create a bit of a administrative overhead and also it will make it deficult to use connection pooling.

  • Why doesn't safari 5 always fill in username and password?

Why is it that Safari sometimes remembers my user name, sometimes the username and password, and more often not at all. Often I go to a web site and have to fill in the information over and over. How can I make safari remember and fill in all this?

    Hi,
From the Safari menu bar click Safari / Preferences then select the Autofill tab.
Select the box next to: *User names and passwords*
Your passwords are actually stored in Keychain Access (Applications/Utilities)
When you login to a site, after selecting that box, after you enter your user name and password, you should be prompted to save that information, click Yes. That will create a new keychain for you.
Keep in mind, some banking and investment sites do not allow the "autofill" feature to do security.

  • How do you auto connect to a PC server resource on re boot w/o having to type the username and password to that resource?

How do you auto connect to a PC server resource on re boot w/o having to type the username and password to that resource?

Open the server as you normally would. When you enter your password, click the box to "remember Password". Once mounted, select the server icon from your desktop and hit Command + L to make an alias. You can move that alias to some place out of the way if you wish. The go to System Preferences/Users and select your user profile, then Login Items. Simply add the alias you just created. Now every time you boot you will automatically be connected to that server.

  • Firefox 7.0.1 does not remember/fill in username and password in Mac version although on Windows it works, so it's not the website preventing password being saved. what is up and how can this be fixed ?

There are several sites where I now have to type in my username and password each time I return, such as turnitin.com. (I'm a teacher and use this for grading). Friefox used to be able to remember this for that site and it still works at my office where I have a windows machine. Not working on my Mac OS 10.6.8 and it is really annoying to have to retype every single time; it's not a financial site or anything so why can't the Firefox browser remember and re enter my info?
And no, turnitin does not currently support Firefox 7 but it is only up to firefox 4 and up until now firefox at least worked to remember passwords.
I looked at http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Username%20and%20password%20not%20remembered and I have checked all the recommended browser settings and am not set to private browsing; the sites where this happens are not set in exceptions to remembering, and they are not set to be cleared automatically
So, what's up and why doesn't Firefox remember passwords and usernames any longer?

Now up to Firefox 8 and the problem persists. Cannot go to the www.turnitin.com page and login as I used to do -- Firefox does not remember my username or password.
Still works on Windows, and with other browsers... It would be great if a fix is available.

  • How do I stop Firefox from automatically filling in the spaces for my username and password on one of my password protected websites?

Firefox is automatically entering my username and password on my Sacramento State University secure password site. I am trying to get that function stopped. I do not want my username and password automatically entered in the spaces provided for log in. I want to manually enter that information myself each time I log in to that particular secure password protected site.
So far...I can not find a way to do that. All I find is a way to change my password. I do not wish to change my password. I just do not want it automatically entered for me.

Thanks guys...I did as you suggested and it worked! Thanks!
However...just want you all to know...a computer illiterate like myself had trouble finding which function on the menu bar to click on to find the options and security settings to "unclick." Eventually...I found the correct window.
    Thanks again...your advice worked!

  • Auto input Default Username and Password

    Hi David ,
When I am connecting AWM 11.2.0.2A version with the AWM database and it is prompting for username and password for the target AWM schema . Can we autoinput and take the username and password defined somewhere so that once the database has been clicked it will logged in without prompting for username and password.
    Many thanks,
    Debashis

No, there is no facility to store the username and password between sessions. Oracle's security coding policies are pretty strict on this kind of thing.

  • I enter username and password to login into a website, use the site and then logoff. When I open the site again the username & password are alread filled in,

The only way to prevent to from happening that I've found so far is to close Firefox. When I open back up, go to the site the username and password are empty. This hasn't happened with previous versions of Firefox.

You can set the Boolean pref <b>signon.autofillForms</b> to <i>false</i> on the <b>about:config</b> page.

  • How do I get Firefox to remember two usernames and passwords for att.yahoo?

Firefox remembers one username and password, does not auto-fill-in the information (which is good), but will not ask to remember the second username and password. How do I get Firefox to remember the second username and password?
I have two e-mail accounts which use the same login page, one account is sbcglobal and the other is yahoo. I would like Firefox to remember both sets of information so I don't have to type all the username and password information for one account.
