Auto-fit feature trashes pics

Hi,
I'm working with hundreds of images in ID CS5 and would like to use the Auto-fit tool. It doesn't work for me the way it works in the video tutorials. When you select images and check the Auto-fit box, it's supposed to allow you to scale images along with their frames automatically.
In my case, when I highlight two or more images and check the Auto-fit box, the images instantly disappear. The only clue is that in the Links view, the page numbers change to "PB". This would indicate that the images have been sent to the pastboard. However, I've painstakingly searched the whole document for them, even shut off each layer, one at a time. They don't seem to be anywhere or on any pasteboard area. Unchecking the box doesn't bring them back. The only work-around to get them back is to "undo" the operation. Anyone else have this happen?

Interesting, thanks Eugene. I couldn't find a Zoom to Fit command anywhere in ID incl. the manual. However, I did try the main Fit Frame to Content buttone. This reveals the images as being around 20 inches down and to the right of the page, way off in never neverland! I never put my images anywhere but in their frames. Happens repeatably with all my images. The Fit Content to Frame and Center in Frame buttons do bring the images back into the frame again, similar to saying Undo. There's got to be something wrong with the code, this seems crazy.

Auto fit weight & auto fit height in Graphics

Dear gurus,
Especially in drill downs, in graphics I need to a feature like "auto fit weight & auto fit height". For example column chart weight is 10 cm, height is 6 cm. In drill down if the lines are not too much chart's columns can be too huge; or if the lines are too much chart's columns can be too small. Therefore the system should change weight and height automatically. I haven't seen any dynamic weight and height feature like is in 'format size' (you know well in format size, we can use auto fit weight & auto fit height feature). Anybody knows? Thank you.

Which Charts are you have used?
if you want to change format size (it means Columnssize in Coumn Chart is varied according to lines,if you have many lines in the column chart it will show too small or if you have less it will show too huge) for that better to use coumn chart,bar chart.
If you don't want to change format size( means the line width and height is not changed according to labels if you have many or less it will shows fixed size.) for that better to use LineChart.

Auto-on Feature on the Toshiba 50L1400U 50-Inch

Does the Toshiba 50L1400U or the 50L2400U television have the auto-on feature where it will turn on automatically when it gets a signal through the HDMI cable? Thank you!

I received a 50L2400U led tv. My question has to do with the Power On / Standby LED. On my tv, I will only see a very tiny pinpoint red LED with the TV is powered off. Other than that, I don't see any LED indicator when the TV is on. Since the indicator looks like a ring, I think at the very least this entire ring would light up red instead of just the 9 o'clock point (see attached pic).
Does your LED indicator look like mine? What does yours look like when the tv is on? What about off? Thank you.

Auto fitting for pictures

Is there a way I can set photos to auto fit or fill when I resize a frame?

<CS3> I'm surprised that I can't set the frame fitting options (fitting on empty frame) as a default (ie with no documents open). I want all new frames I create to have a particular property (ie Fit Content Proportionally) but this doesn't work. All new frames default to 'None'. Am I missing something, or was I right to request this as a new feature?

No, iOS does not do short term incremental back ups to iCloud such as you get with Time Capsule.It backs up when you do soo manually, or if set properly, when the device is plugged in and connected to WiFi. It will not have saved your changes as of 10 minutes prior.

My auto translate feature is not working on firefox v5. When I highlight a few words and right click, the option is'nt there to translate. Why?

Ok so my auto translate feature does not seem to be working. When trying to translate text on twitter or any page I highlight the text, right click and the option to auto translate has gone. I am running firefox v5 on vista. Can anyone help me out.

Sorry that my guess about what you are using was wrong. How about telling us exactly what you installed to provide that '''auto translate''' feature in Firefox?
If you don't know, give us a list of the extensions that you ''do'' have installed so that we don't have to wildly guess or so we can do an '''''educated guess''''' as to which one isn't working.

We are trying to package our iTunes Windows and we can't stop the auto update feature. How can we do this?

We have consultants here packaging many of our Apps for deployment with Windows 7. We cannot find a way to turn off the auto update feature within iTunes for Windows. Has someone been successful in packaging iTunes for Windows and NOT do the auto update piece?

The Apple advice revolves around the editing the registry:

To Turn off of or set auto complete feature in Adobe reader 8 through LC designer

Hi i am developing the XDP through LC designer . After renering the PDF through form server if i open the PDF in adobe reader 8 it pop up message saying auto complete . I dont want to dispaly the pop up message iwhile opening the PDF in reader 8 . So Please provide scripts or some alternative to set in the XDP side to set the auto complete eature to off

I suspect that the auto complete feature is turned on in Reader 8 (and off in Reader 9).
Open Reader 8 and go the preferences:
Make sure auto complete is turned off.

Preview.app - lost the "zoom to fit" feature ?

you used to be able to set the "zoom to fit" feature and it would zoom every image to fit on screen. Now with Leopard - one cannot do this anymore.
Or am I wrong ?
I tried playing with the controls and no combination made this work again. Its annoying for sure.
Why downgrade features Apple ?

Zoom to fit is still available. You can choose it from your menubar.
Larger than screen images will be made to fit the window, but not smaller ones, larger.
In the Preview preferences, Images tab, setting the default image size to
Scale large images to fit window seems to work for me. Is this what you mean?

Auto-Suggest feature in Combo-box LOV is not displaying non-unique values

I have an auto-suggest feature implementation on a combo-box lov that displays the name and email-id of a list of people. There are non-unique names in the back-end, for example :
Abraham Mason [email protected]
Abraham Mason [email protected]
But when I use the auto-suggest feature and type in, say 'Ab', instead of showing both the Abraham Masons the auto-suggest displays only one of the values.
As in the example above the email-ids of the two Abraham Masons are different and unique.
If I use the conventional drop down menu of the combo-box then both the values are visible.
Is the auto-suggest feature implemented in a manner so as to display only unique values?

don't find a bug entry about this, so if this indeed is a defect then this has not been filed. Do you have a test case ? If you have please zip it up and send it in a mail to me. My mail address is in my OTN profile (just click on my name until you get to the profile). Pleas rename the "zip" extension to "unzip" and mention the JDeveloper release you work with. The test case should work against the Oracle HR schema.
If you need to track the issue, I suggest to file a service request with customer support yourself

How to auto fit column width?

When I design a input schedule, I find a problem, some columns can auto fit column width when I input numerics, some columns can not! how can I fix my input schedule and let all column can auto fit column width?

      If you are using standard template and which is not working for 2 data ranges.
      I think you can customize using VBA Macros. It is possible using Macros. I'm not sure is it BUG from SAP.
     Try to put VBA code in AFTER_REFRESH i guess.
      You can VBA Macro code mention below.
      for Column D: Columns("D:D").EntireColumn.AutoFit
      For all Columns: Cells.EntireColumn.AutoFit
      For Only Data Ranges: Determine columns from data range using VBA code and use VBA code given for Column .

Screen Sharing scrolling, can the auto-pan feature be turned off?

I am using screen sharing from home on my MacBook Pro to connect to my Mac Pro at work and it performs really well in all respects but one. My Mac Pro has dual monitors, so Screen Sharing running on my MacBook Pro gives me the option of either scaling the larger screen down, which is not readable, or being able to scroll around the larger screen of my work machine. The problem is that Screen Sharing has the automatic pan feature so that if my mouse moves to the edge of the window showing the shared screen then it starts scrolling it. This is nice the first time you see it but quickly becomes annoying because every random mouse movement that takes me to the edge of the window, like moving the mouse out of that window to go the the dock or the menu of my MacBook Pro, starts scrolling the screen when I did not want it to. I find myself constantly re-centering the view of the shared screen in the window back to the position I want it in and I find this to be a very anti-productive waste of time. I would like the auto-pan feature disabled so that it will only scroll when I grab a scroll bar and move it. Is it possible to do this?

I'm having the exact same problem with a Toshiba Satellite P300 here. The multimedia button seems so sensitive that the laptop will turn on by itself after a while. I haven't been able to find a program to disable it. Has anyone found a solution to this? If you do, please send me an email at [email protected] (remove the nospam) so I can fix it once and for all.

Reordering pages: No auto renumbering feature?

I think I'm missing something here. I've changed the order of a few pages, and it went well. However, the original page numbers are intact, and now out of sequence.
Must I manually change all of my page numbers to reflect their new numerical order, then re-publish?
Trust me, I've checked the help file, and thoroughly searched the discussion forum, but find nothing about page renumbering - and certainly not an auto-renumbering feature.

Sorry, there is no pagination or page numbering on/off feature. Silly that such a basic function does not exist. Pages are numbered according to their order of creation, and so I had to renumber 30+ pages manually, and during the re-publish process I got an error message regarding one of the page numbers and I have no idea what it meant, nor how to correct the error.
Let us hope that a few of the very basic features that we have come to expect in a word processor - like auto pagination, will be included in the next iWeb patch or version upgrade.
