I just bought Audition 3 and, having worked with an eight year old version of Wavelab before, I am appalled at the lack of sophistication and user-friendliness of this software.
I am jumping around hunting for the most basic of things (including in this forum), but can't seem to find them.
Case in point: One of the most obvious functions - an auto noise gate - seems to be completely missing. What the hell?
Yes, there is an auto noise reduction, but it's utterly complicated to figure out and it doesn't work properly. Any old noise gate does a better job.
There are two noise gate presets in dynamic processing, but I have no idea how to adjust them for an intended effect. There are simply no clues. After searching for "noise gate" in the Audition help file, it presents me with a definition of a noise gate, rather than explaining to me where to find the blessed thing.
Now, of course, I could just be blind to the glaringly obvious and might have overlooked all of this. If that's the case, please set me straight and I will apologize profusely.
Otherwise I am tempted to ask whether Adobe offers a money-back guarantee on software purchases. And I can guess the answer to that, too. ;-)

No you won't - you've already demonstrated that your approach is to complain first, having not understood anything. Just because you think a question is simple doesn't mean that it actually is. And the way you get treated on this forum generally reflects the way you approach it. It's a U2U forum, and you don't seem to have figured out how they work best either...
And I am not going to tell him to shut up and read some books, because he is obviously daft and would be better off sticking with some $20 program bundled with a new Apple PC.

Typical case in point. You actually asked for this information, and now you are complaining about it? You should try to get a bit of a grip on yourself. For a start, by at least remembering what you wrote...
I will try to be helpful and provide simple solutions to simple problems, as should be expected of a support forum.
On the basis of present evidence, I'd say that there's no chance of this happening at all. And something else you should try to remember about forums and questions is that you are very unlikely ever to get a sensible answer to a question that says "tell me everything about xxx " for two reasons. Firstly we have no idea where to begin with a question that is likely to be asked by somebody whose background knowledge we have no idea about - we could easily be wasting a lot more time than is actually necessary. And secondly, it almost invariably means, as it clearly does in your case, that you really can't be bothered to even attempt to learn how to use whatever it is yourself. Because if you had, then you would be asking rather more specific questions about its use, and those we happily reply to.
Most of the people who answer questions here are not amateurs. If you ask stupid, ill-formed questions in the form of a complaint, then efectively you are a) insulting their intelligence, and b) wasting their time. We answer sensible questions here to help people, but you may bet your sweet life that we are bloody good at spotting the people who deserve to be helped, and it's pretty easy - they are the ones who have attempted to help themselves a bit first, and demonstrate this.

Audio crackle, using Elements 12

I have a crackle in my audio. I was using a hand held mic, and the subject held it close to her mouth and spoke loudly. She is the only one out of 5 subjects for the video in which I got a crackle. I have tried denoiser, reducing and offsetting as much as it will allow, but to no avail. I think a decrackler effect would work, but it's not available in my Elements 12. Is it there, and I'm blind? Or, can I add it?

There is no DeCrackler Effect in Premiere Elements that I have ever seen as there is in other programs, like Premiere Pro

Audio Effects Dynamics/Auto Gate - "Use this to remove unwanted background noise , such as a background noise behind a voiceover".
That is exactly what I wan to do. How do I set the four knobs and what do they mean? Is this explained somepalce?

Pretty sophisticated Effects! This is a Dynamics Processor, and it has an Auto function too.
The Thresholds setting is to define the Amplitude Range that will be processed, and the Attack Time determines the amount of time in milliseconds, that it takes for the Effect to react to amplitudes that exceed the Threshold. The Release is the amount of time for the effect to return to the Threshold amplitude. Hold determines how long the Effect will be enacted for, between the Attack and the Release. I am guessing that Soft Clip will smooth out any linear nature of the Processor.
Because the effects of Dynamics Processing can be very subtle, I strongly suggest that you use a good pair of noise-canceling headphones to make the corrections.
Depending on the Frequency Range of your noise, I would also look into invoking the Compressor too.
I’m impressed with PrE. I would not have expected to see something like this outside of SoundBooth, or Audition. Nice addition Adobe.

PS - I am a bit surprised that Adobe did not include some common presets for this Effect, like in Audition. They at least give the user a starting point, but maybe the “factory defaults,” accessible via Reset, are where Adobe feels the setting should start for critical listening.

How to reverse the auto levels recording to normal levels?

What I want to say is that I have a recording taken with Zoom H1 and the Auto Levels switch was accidentally on. That of course makes the parts of the recording after a pause to start too loud and then when the signal goes to high, makes it too quiet. It's not nice.
Is there a way to level out the recording? It's a speech and I know that it can be done using Speech volume leveler, but I don't want to use that either. What I am interested in is that is there a way to capture a noise print or the print of desired level of audio and then level out the rest of the audio by referencing to the print volume? In other words, reverse the Auto Levels effect back to normal. Is that possible?

Which version of Audition are you using? There are Advanced options on later versions that allow you to keep the noise down.
But what you are looking foe in Dynamics Processing is the Downward Expander. As an example look for instance at the E. Guitar Gate preset. It is a rather extreme version of what you want to do but gives you some idea where to start.

After ejecting my drive it auto reconnects

I have had this problem with Snow Leopard and Lion.
When I connect my cellphone (HTC WM6.5) everything works fine but when I eject the device it auto-reconnects before I get the chance to pull the cable, giving me a faulty removal error.
Ok it's not a major issue but I'm just wondering why.
Anyone some ideas besides it's Bill Gates to blame?

You can check by selecting the iPod Touch from under devices. This will bring you to the iPod's Summary tab. On this screen, check to see if the Sync over Wi-Fi option is enabled.
How exactly are you ejecting the device?

Highlighting Text & Auto Text Options

I've recently migrated from MS Word to Pages, and I'm determined to make this new relationship work. In Word I used its highlighting text (as with a real highlighter--yellow, pink, etc.) feature, as well as its Auto Text feature, in which I had a number of prescribed, hyperlinked comments. (I'm a teacher, and I would auto text things like, "comma error," which would then be linked to a web page about comma errors.
Can anyone help me discover ways to do both of these in Pages? Also, is there anything for Pages like MS Word's macros?

Welcome to the forums, Brad.
There is no direct analogue in Pages to Word's highlighting feature. However, you can use the Comments feature to add specific comments to a specific piece of text (with the advantage that the comments can be easily hidden, since you are not changing the characteristics of the actual text). Simply select a bit of text and click the Comment icon in the toolbar, or from the Insert menu select "Comment". The selected text will highlight in document, and a comments box will appear to the left of the page, in which you can type whatever you want. In the comments box you can select whatever text you want and make it a hyperlink, by going to the Hyperlink Inspector. Unfortunately, there is not an easy way to automate the creation of a hyperlink, at least as far as I know.
There are plenty of third-party applications that will let you store and add snippets of text easily to any Mac document, including Pages. These include TypeIt4Me, Butler, and even Quicksilver, which has a fanatical following and may be more than you need for this kind of task. I'm sure others here might be able to suggest other apps.
One caution, however: If you intend to be sharing documents with others, they must be using Pages themselves to take advantage of these features. Unless your students are also using Pages, these workarounds won't really help.

Yes you certainly can.
Right click any desktop in the list > Settings > in the left pane select the desktop you want to auto connect to > check "Auto connect to this desktop".

How to ASR 9k auto backup to external FTP server

How to take auto running configuration backup when use commit command in asr9k .Our asr9k sofware Version 4.0.1[Default] .I usse the commands

I have not personally seen this issue before but you may find verifying your config helpful.
SUMMARY STEPS
1. configure
2. show running-config
3. describe hostname hostname
4. end
5. show sysdb trace verification shared-plane | include path
6. show sysdb trace verification location node-id
7. show cfgmgr trace
8. show configuration history commit
9. show configuration commit changes {last | since | commit-id}
10. show config failed startup
11. cfs check --> Verifies the Configuration File System (CFS)
However I did notice the following:

GR/IR not auto clear in system

Hi All,
GR/IR not auto clear in system
Normally every week end the system automatically clears the open items in f.13, But this time it has not clear the open items
What could be the reason the system not to clear open items on the week end.
So that's the reason the user manually cleared the open items
- User has performed F.13 on 26th of Oct but system didn't auto clear the open items.
- Those documents are posted prior to 26th of Oct and user would like to know what cause to incident.
Please suggest me what should be the reason to come out of this issue.

IS AUTO - How to block creation of delivery

We are working on IS Auto Industry. Right now we are facing one issue. We are getting confirmation of service instead of GI. I do analysed the problem and found that this is happening because of the following.
We are creating delivery using BF Message. While creating delivery system check for schedule lines in the corresponding SSA. If there are JIT schedule line then we do not have any problem. However, If there are no JIT delivery schedules, forecast delivery schedules will be considered. In this case system will not be able to perform PGI and gives confirmation of service instead of GI.
Can we configure the in such a way that it should create delivery if & only if JIT schedule lines exists? Otherwise, (no JIT Schedule but Forecast Schedule exists) system should throw error in BF Message.
Pls suggest.

What I understand from your post is that you want that a delivery document created for a Sales order should not allow the quantity to go beyond the Sales Order Quantity.
You can do this by going to the following customizing entry.
First determine the item category relevant to you here:
LE -> Shipping -> Deliveries -> Define Item Category determination in Deliveries
Then go to "Define Item Categories for Deliveries". Open the relevant item category. In the field "check overdelivery" Provide value "B" and save.

Auto cancellation of schedule lines

Hi,
We have a requirement fo auto cancellation of schedule line such that after some time of schedule line delivery date system should cancel the schedule line if the GR has not been posted so that new schedule line needs to be generated by MRP .
In standard scenario if the GR has not been done system will keep open the schedule line and will not generate new schedule line.
Is there any config setting is there??

MRP - Auto creation of del schedule lines based on planned delivery time

We have activated MRP (type PD) where Purchase requiesition is auto created by system for requirement quantity. We require to optimize delivery schedule in such a way that entire PR quantity is broken into various delivery schedule based on planned delivery time and requirement. Scenario can be further explained with following example.
Material Requirement for a month is say 1,25,000 units
Closing Stock say 25,000 units
PR Generated by system for 1,00,000 units. The entire quantity is schdulled with only one delivery schedule line as per planned delivery time.
The requirement is to generate multiple delivery schedule lines automatically in Purchase requisition based on planned delivery time so that Purchase orders can be placed with system generated delivery schedule lines.
How can it be achieved ?

This subject has been discussed repeatedly in this and other forums. I must assume that you overlooked the rules of engagement, which state that you should first search the forums and other public sites, before posting questions here.
Standard SAP MRP cannot be made to generate multiple items in a Purchase requisition. The functionality you seek is usually achieved when converting purchase reqs to Purchase orders, where many single purchase reqs can be adopted into a single Purchase order.
You also might want to investigate use of Vendor Scheduling agreements.

Is there a way to create a rule that sends and Auto Response for a shared mailbox?

I have a shared mailbox set up that receives emails that are sent to 3 different addresses:
[email protected]
[email protected]
[email protected]
I would like to create a rule that would send an auto response when someone emails one of these addresses. However, I don't want an auto response sent to [email protected] so I can't just set up an "out of office" reply for the mailbox.
Is there a way that I can create a rule to send an automated response to 2 of the 3 addresses?

we can enable the shared mailbox in ADUC and create Outlook rules for it in Outlook to achieve it. please follow these steps:
1. In Active Directory Users and Computers, right-click the shared mailbox and click Enable Account.
2. Configure the Outlook account for the shared mailbox in Outlook.
3. Click Rules > Manage Rules & Alerts.
4. Create a rule like the following format:
Apply this rule after the message arrives
Have server reply using a specific message
Except if the subject contains specific words
Select exception(s) (if necessary) of the Outlook Rule - (“except if from people or public group“)
5. Apply the auto reply rules for this shared mailbox.
Then users can receive auto reply of the shared mailbox except the exceptions we have set when they send messages to this shared mailbox.

Error auto-deploying a Web App (.WAR file)

Weblogic 6.1 throws a FileNotFoundException about 10% of the time for me when
auto-deploying a Web app. Has anyone else run into this? I searched the newsgroups
but didn't come up with anything, so I thought I'd start here.
My build/deploy cycle is managed by an Ant build file that creates a WAR file
of my web application and then drops it into $WL_HOME/config/mydomain/applications.
Occasionally when I do this, I get the error shown below. Originally I was building
the WAR file right in the ../applications directory, so I thought that might be
an issue. So, I started building the WAR file in a staging directory and copying
it into ../applications. No luck. Next, I tried deleting the original WAR file
from ../applications, and THEN copying the new one over from the staging directory.
Still fails occasionally.
Let's see. This is Weblogic 6.1 on Win2K. The only other thing is that my dev/build/staging
environment is on a network share, and it's from there that I'm copying the WAR
file to my local machine (where WL is running).
If someone has seen and/or knows what is up with this, great. If not, it's not
a show-stopper.

This is a problem with 6.1 SP2 also -- a very annoying error. Without auto deploy
working properly, developers are spending alot of time waiting for WebLogic to restart.
HELP!!! we need this fixed.
