Auto Hide the Dock

I know this can be done by pressing 'F' and I dont want to use auto-hide all the time.
Is there a way that you can auto hide the dock when Aperture starts up?

Hello J:
Try trashing the preference file (com.apple.dock.plist) and restarting. Then enter your personal dock preferences.

  • How do you auto hide the finder menu bar

Prior to Mavericks, I could auto hide the finder menu bar by inserting:
    <key>LSUIPresentationMode</key>
    <integer>4</integer>
in the finder info.plist after accessing core services/finderapp/contents/resources, but now in the Mavericks OSX, I receive the following error message:
"Finder Quit Unexpectantly" and a list of various reasons; codes; etc too long to list here.  Is auto hiding the finder menu bar even doable anymore in this operating system, and if so what is the solution?

How do you reverse that process?  I was trying it with various apps, substituting the app name in the terminal command and it worked great until I got to the "Notes" app.  I think it messed up how notes synced with iCloud.
    Thanks

  • How can I auto-hide the TOC

I'm using RoboHelp 8 and have a WebHelp project in which I'd like the output to auto-hide the TOC, allowing the user to click to open it if needed. There doesn't appear to be an option for that. Instead, the user can currently choose to close it, but it defaults to Open. Any ideas on how I might accomplish this?
Thanks in advance for your help!

  • How to Auto Hide the Tree control

    Hi,
Iam struck with the new requirment in my project. I need to make the tree autohide when it looses focus.
I have some items in my tree on selecting the item, i should show the content of that page.
I guess i need to write some logic in Mouse Events...OnMouseOver event.
still i didnt have any clue to do this.
can any one help me with it...
    Thanks.

Look in the CSS.  Try using this line:     display:none;     on the div or class when visited.
    Like this:
    #YourDivName:visited,  .YourDivName:visited    {
         display:none;
Now, the item needs to be in a div tag or a class tag in order for this to work and it needs to be a link but I have hidden tons of HTML using this code trick.  I believe the off focus command also exists but you will need to research.
    Good Luck,
    Brett

  • Auto hide the bookmarks sidebar on iPad in landscape

The new behavior of the bookmarks sidebar is frustrating me. I am hoping that someone knows a way to make the sidebar disappear in the landscape mode without tapping the bookmark icon again to close it. I don't see the logic in selecting a bookmark then having the sidebar stay open on 1/3 of the screen unless you manually close it. Please tell me there is a fix.

Tap the solid blue bookmark icon at the top of bookmarks to dismiss bookmarks.

  • How do I get Elements to occupy full screen on my macbook pro? - the docking station remains visible and I don't want to have the dock in hide mode?

How do I get Elements to occupy full screen on my macbook pro? - the docking station remains visible and I don't want to have the dock in hide mode?

Unfortunately, there is no answer to this problem via this link. It may be that this is simply how the software actually works. It is a design fault in Adobe Photoshop Elements. It is possible to temporarily hide the dock within 'system preferences'. Oh well. Someone may know better.... I hope!

  • SAP Signature Design & Task Bar Auto-Hide Feature

    Hi Experts,
I'm having a problem with SAP Business One 8.8 PL18 using the new 8.8 SAP Signature Design. We are in a business with 4 professionals and 1 CRM. When we use the SAP Signature Design Skin Style and you have SBO maximized on the screen and you have Windows auto-hide the Task bar. You can't go back to the task bar with your mouse to switch applications or to just go to your start menu. The only way you can make the task bar appear is by pressing the "window key" to make the task bar display. To change applications, you can still use the "Alt Tab feature". If I put the Skin Style to Classic Mode, everything works great with no apparent display problems.
I've tried this on 3 different operating systems. Windows 7, Windows XP and Windows 2003 Server and the same results. The task bar won't re-pop up if you move your mouse down to it (I tried moving the task bar to the left, top or right to see if that made a difference, and it didn't). I've been using the "Window Key" for now to make the task bar pop up (display), but I think it's a bug with the skin style and not the operating system.
I've tried to get this resolved with our partner, but I don't think they understand the problem, or are just not willing to acknowledge the problem. They probably think it is a petty problem. We all like the new design and would like to use it properly while still having the task bar auto-hide.
The question actually is, do you know of this problem, is there something I can disable or do to get it to work (ie: make it run with compatibility mode to something) or do I just have to live with this problem?
I thank you very much in trying or helping me with this problem
    Ron

    Hi Ron,
Welcome you post on the forum.
I don't have the same version to test. Based on your detailed explanation, I do think it is probably a bug. Since it may not be used by many users, it could have low priority to be fixed even if it is confirmed to be a bug.
    Thanks,
    Gordon

  • (Chrome Like) Auto-Hide Tab bar in Safari Full Screen mode

Is there a plugin or some other way to auto hide the tab bar in Safari fullscreen mode like the way Chrome does?
This is the only thing stopping me from using Safari, it's way smoother than Chrome and feels much more native to Lion, but the fact the tab bar just keeps hanging there is annoying.
I tried the Cmd+I method mentioned in the community, but it only works when you're only opening one tab, if you open several tabs, the tab bar will show up again. It also comes back up once you exit Full Screen mode.
    Thanks for your help !

Hello myzzzl, this is normal behavior in full screen mode, you can set the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Browser.fullscreen.autohide browser.fullscreen.autohide] in about:config to False, to change that, but if you do that tabs and location bar is enabled in full screen mode.
wait if another contributor/helper give you a code which I don't know.
    thank you

  • Resizing window below the Dock

I know this is weird, but I swear I've done it on another machine.
I'm using Leopard 10.5 and for this example I'll choose Calendar. This problem happens to most windows. When I maximize calender, either but hitting the green button, or dragging the window, it won't let me drag the window below the dock.
I want the Dock to sit on top of my window. I know that's weird but I swear I've done it. If I hide the dock, I'm able to resize the Window the the bottom of the screen I then unhide the dock, the dock sits over my window, like I want, but in a few seconds the Window automatically resizes to right above the dock.
How can I tell the system to let me resize the Window, to full screen with the dock still showing on top of my Window?

Try this. Open a window, click and drag on its top bar to below the Dock. The window should move to below the Dock with the Dock on top. Now, open an app's window, such as Safari or TextEdit. Click and drag the triangle in the lower right-hand corner, and try to expand the window below the Dock. You can't. just as you can't click on a window's top bar and pull it past the menu bar. Experiment with these two methods until you get what you want.
