Auto Join Domain using WAIK without install Operating System Image

Hi all, i have a question.
In my Environment, i have requirement like this :
If user get new laptop with operating system already installed,
is it possible to automatic join domain when user plug in LAN cable to their computer?
I already explore about this and i found WAIK can help me to auto join domain, but i must install that OS image too.
I just want to auto join domain, is it possible to skip install OS image process when i using WAIK?
Can i get a solution for my requirement?
Thanks for help!

  • MDT 2012 \ WinPE 3.0 Slow Install Operating System

I have an issue with a custom wim I have incorporated into my Task sequence. When I use a custom Wim, at the point where the MDT Tasksequence begins to "Install Operating System" it slows down to a crawl. What previously took 5-10 minutes on a
previous wim, is now taking 30-50. When the "Install Operating System" task begins, it starts a at a very decent rate, you can see the percentage or time increasing/changing every few seconds with out issue, but when it gets to 30% completion, it
starts to slow down dramatically. Eventually it will get to 100% Completion, where it will stay for the next 5 minutes, at which point it will apply the unattend.xml which will also take a very very long time to complete.
Once it reboots from applying the Unattend.xml everything runs normal.
    My Setup:
    I am using MDT 2012 - with WinPE3.0
To create my Custom Wim I did the following:
I created a brand new standard tasksequence, to deploy an OS to a machine, install updates then sysprep and capture to a wim. I set a custom variable in the tasksequence which set DoCapture=Yes. This allowed me to Capture the Operating system after the windows
updates were done without having to do any additional steps. I then imported the Image into the operating systems section of my MDT Deployment share, and incorporated it into my previous Tasksequence.
I have also noticed that the size of the wim file I created is about 1.5 gigs larger than my previous wim.
    Steps I've Taken for remediation:
I've tried rebuilding my boot.wim several times.
    Increased the scratch size from 32 -> 64 -> 256 -> 512MB
Removed unnecessary drivers from the boot.wim
Any ideas you guys might have with regard to getting my Install Operating System phase to speed up to normal speeds with be greatly appreciated.  Is there an extra step with the install.wim that I importing into MDT that I should be doing?

I completed a robocopy in the full blown OS to download the 4.9g wim, it takes 1 minute and 36 seconds.  It does have gigabit connection active in the full blown os.
When I am running WinPE, Task Manager is showing my local area connection is running at 1Gbps.
Another discrepancy I'm noticing is that @ 12:16:04 [Line1801] the task sequence finishes apply the wim.  It takes 10 minutes for it to start the next task found on Line 1807.  Any Ideas on why it taking so long to apply the  bootsect.exe
    command?
I did disable the "Apply Patches" task, and it did remove 20 minutes by not applying those patches.  Thank you for that suggestion.

It sounds like you may have multiple problems, but none of them are likely to be caused by malware.
First, the internet-related issues may be related to adware or a network compromise. I tend to lean more towards the latter, based on your description of the problem. See:
    http://www.adwaremedic.com/kb/baddns.php
    http://www.adwaremedic.com/kb/hackedrouter.php
If investigation shows that this is not a network-specific issue, then it's probably adware. See my Adware Removal Guide for help finding and removing it. Note that you mention AdBlock as if it should have prevented this, but it's important to understand that ad blockers do not protect you against adware in any way. Neither would any kind of anti-virus software, which often doesn't detect adware.
As for the other issues, it sounds like you've got some serious corruption. I would be inclined to say it sounds like a failing drive, except it sounds like you just got it replaced. How did you get all your files back after the new drive was installed?

    Hi,
I am using your software: CS6 InDesign Suiteon a PC using a Windows 7 operating system.
Due to eyesight issues, I need to have the menu bars of programs in easy-to-read font and picture size.  Specifically, the menu bar across the top (File, Edit, View, etc.), and the menu bar on the left side with the graphic depiction of options.
In earlier versions of Windows (e.g. XP), whenever I changed the screen resolution on my computer to a lesser resolution in order to show the link icons on my desktop in a larger, more readable size, all the software programs, including yours, appeared on my screen with the menu bars in the larger font size that I needed.
However, in Windows 7, this is not the case.  Even though I have selected the lowest resolution, making the icons on my desktop extremely large, I cannot read the options across the top menu bar of your program, nor the pull-down menu items that they contain.  I cannot see the graphic depictions of options on the left side of the screen. They are all too small.  How can I make your program increase the size?

CS6 is not high-DPI compatible/ enabled and that can't be changed. If you cannot6 make it work with your operating system means, then short of joining Creative Cloud and using newer versions there is nothing you can do.

  • Re-install operating system on Compaq NC6400

Must I use an external DVD optical drive to recover/re-install operating system on Compaq NC6400? If an external drive is required, is it possible to use an external hard drive? And, will a simple copying the files off of the CD and onto the hard drive work as the transfer?

    Hi:
As far as I know you need to install using a CD/DVD drive. I would suggest if your CD/DVD drive doesn't work, you can use an external one.
I don't think you can copy the CD and to an external HDD and boot from that to install.

  • How to install operating system on T61 from recovery folder.

    Hi,
I bought T61 lenovo laptop on October 2007. It's almost more than one year. I didn't upgrade my warranty due to some reasons.
Now my system infected with virus. I would like to install operating system (i.e windows XP).
When I bought this, I didn't receive any operating system Recovery CD. I came to know that...... they provide recovery folder in the system itself. with that recovery we can install operating system.
Could you pls let me know the path for recovery folder and let me know the installation procedure step by step.
    Thanks in advance

Restart the computer, When you see the IBM/Lenovo splash screen press the blue Thinkvantage button. From there you can select recover my computer or restore to factory condition (depends on software version). Follow steps to restore. When completed make a set of recovery discs. If possible do this before restoring. The discs will be necessary if something goes wrong.
To make the discs click Start/Thinkvantage/Create recovery set. (the names vary with XP or Vista)

I've googled around and tried a lot of 'fixes' I've found from various sites but nothing seems to have remedied this issue. The only thing that changed (That I can think of) is the IP of the VM was changed to a different one. This seems to be when it started
failing. All steps leading up to this point seem to work fine. Does anyone have any sugggestions? This is on a newly built, Hyper-v, server 2012 R2, MDT 2013 setup.
    Much Appreciated..!

It would be helpful to get the bdd.log files to debug the issue.
Can you upload them to a public site like onedrive and share the link here?

  • FAILURE ( 5640 ): FALSE: Verify File: \\SERVER\DeploymentShare\Operating Systems\Image 11-13-2014.wim\image.wim ERROR

    Guys,
I need help with this error please. I have a WDS in building 13 and another 1 in building 31; Both servers have MDT 2013. At some point, both deployment shares were linked via MDT but I deleted that few days to solve some deployment share corruption in building
    31 WDS.
Presently I have 2 32bit images (my 64bit images work fine) giving me the following MDT error in BUILDING 13 during the image deployment:
    FAILURE ( 5640 ): FALSE: Verify File: \\BUILDING 31 SERVER\DeploymentShare\Operating Systems\Image 11-13-2014.wim\image.wim
Litetouch deployment failed, Return Code = -2147467259 0x80004005
Failed to run the action: Install Operating System.
    Unknown error (Error:00001608; Source: Unknown)
The Execution of the group (Install) has failed and the execution has been aborted. An action failed....
Please note, BUILDING 13 deployment share is not linked to BUILDING 31 deployment share. I don't understand why this error is pointing to BUILDING 31 deployment share.
\\BUILDING 31 SERVER\DeploymentShare\Operating Systems\Image 11-13-2014.wim\image.wim  has been removed. I need the task sequence to point to
    \\BUILDING 13 SERVER\DeploymentShare\Operating Systems\Image 11-13-2014.wim. BUILDING 13 deployment Share task sequences are pointing to
    \\BUILDING 13 SERVER\DeploymentShare as well as my CustomSettings.ini and Bootstrap.ini
    1. I have diskpart and cleaned the disc, no luck.
    2. I have checked the Install action for both images task sequences and even verified each action on both tasks and cant find any error.
    3. I have re-generated the boot images and retyped
    \\BUILDING 13 SERVER\DeploymentShare on its CustomSettings.ini and Bootstrap.ini
    4. I am in the process of copying Image 11-13-2014.wim back to
\\BUILDING 31 SERVER\DeploymentShare\Operating Systems BUT again I don't understand why these task sequences are pointing to building 31. If this step doesn't work, I will restore both images from a backup and re-added them to building 13 MDT.
But I don't think these steps are the solution.I am out of ideas here...

I disabled McAfee AV, moved images boot files to a different location, regenerate boot images files in MDT, update deployment share, re-add boot files to WDS & refresh WDS. This works for me.

  • How to install operating system on new hard drive without installation disc on macbook pro 2011

My macbook pro 2011 does not come with a recovery disc or any disc at all, my hard drive recently failed and i have no backup. i have replaced the hard drive but don't know how to install the operating system on the new hard drive.

If it originally shipped with 10.7 or newer, connect the computer to the Internet and start it up with the Option, Command, and R keys held down. You'll be able to install an OS.
If it shipped with 10.6.8 or earlier and wasn't upgraded to use Apple's Internet Recovery system, phone AppleCare and order the disks.

  • Using JDAPI without installing builder?

    Hi,
Is there a way of using JDAPI (latest 10g) without installing Forms Builder on your host? I tried a zipped install from another host and setting various environment variables (PATH, ORACLE_HOME etc) and it picks up the dll:s (Windows machine) but the init still fails to create the forms context. Is there Windows registry readings involved when JDAPI is bootstrapped?

First, let me start by saying that there is no "support" way to make this work. Whether or not it can be done will depend on the amount of effort you are willing to put forth. Remember that the jdapi package is just a backdoor way of accessing features used by the Builder. In other words, it biggest part of the problem is how to get those features to work without a proper installation. If this is expected to be a one time thing and not a setup you likely will use again, my opinion is that it will be easier to just install the product then uninstall it when you are done.
That said, in order to make it work you will need much more than just the PATH and ORACLE_HOME. Off the top of my head, here are just a few of the environment variables that will be needed. These would be set in the shell (DOS) where you plan to run the jdapi from. This can also be done in a script file.
    <blockquote>PATH
    ORACLE_HOME
    FORMS_PATH
    FORMS
CLASSPATH (Should include references to frmjdapi.jar, frmall.jar, and numerous others. Refer to a proper installation for a complete list)
FORMS_BUILDER_CLASSPATH (depending on how long CLASSPATH becomes)
TNS_ADMIN (if a db connection is needed and not configured in the home)
TK (points to \tools\common This may not be needed depending on what you functionality you need)
VGS (points to \tools\common This may not be needed depending on what you functionality you need)
DE (points to \tools\common This may not be needed depending on what you functionality you need)</blockquote>
Again, this are just what it takes to make a Builder environment work properly. So exactly what you will need may vary depending on exactly your needs.
THIS IS NOT CONSIDERED A SUPPORTED METHOD FOR USING THE PRODUCT

  • HP Pavilion dv7 doesn't start and I can't install operating system

    Product: HP Pavilion dv7-1125eo
    p/n: NA034EA#UUW
I had Windows 8.1 Pro and I did a virus scan with Malwarebytes-program but I think that it completed before this and didn't find anything. I were also using Youtube and suddenly my computer turned off and it didn't find my hard disk anymore.
    I got errors like:
    03F0
    hard disk not exist
    boot device not found 3F0
no bootable device--insert boot disk and press any key
Diagnostic log shows that I have had that 03F0 and also 0601 error before, but somehow I made my computer to work again. In BIOS it didn't show that there is hard disk, can't test it, but it was an option in boot order, maybe it is always there I don't know.
I tried a trick that going to BIOS five times and always save changes and exit. That kind of worked and I were able to use Windows like 15 min but then computer turned off.
    Windows repairing things:
Windows Automatic repair -> The drive where Windows is installed is locked. Unlock the drive and try again.
Startup repair -> Startup repair couldn't repair your PC.
I used live Linux Mint from my USB stick and it worked good. I formatted my USB stick and tried to reinstall Windows but if I remember correctly it didn't recognize my hard drive.
I thought that maybe my hard disk is broken and I took my Fujitsu Siemens Storagebird Serial ATA WD 250GB external hard drive out of its case and put it inside my laptop. It fitted there well so I tried to install windows into that. First it didn't recognize that hard drive either but when I tried many times and changed it inside laptop between slot 1 and 2
it finally showed in Windows installation screen. Installing always stopped at 16 or 19% and formatting didn't help.
I also formatted my USB stick and made it installation media again but same thing.
Then I thought that maybe I have wrong Windows 8 Pro product key, an upgrade only so I tried to install Windows Vista because it were a factory installed OS. It either didn't recognize my hard drive in Windows installing screen, but this one can be tested in BIOS.
Taking CMOS battery out for hours and trying with only one memory or both hard disks didn't work.
Do I need to install some drivers from DVD during the Windows installation or is the hard disk connections broken or what is the problem? Can't I repair it by myself?
I'm tired of trying these magic tricks so I really hope that someone can help me. Otherwise I need to buy a new laptop or use it with my USB stick and its live Linux ;( Also battery is dead so it doesn't exist anymore and fan makes noises sometimes and computer gets hot. I'm getting amused when trying to fix it even though almost nothing doesn't work anymore but it's hard to let go of it because I have repaired it so many times and even though it's old it's been working the last year well before this
I didn't know where to post this because I don't know what the real problem is.

    Hey @mnbvc ,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I see you're unable to install Windows on another HDD after experiencing an HDD failure.
The hard drive not found error would indicate the drive has failed. Not being able to test the drive confirms this.
-Source: Resolve Boot Device not Found Error Message.
The upgrade key you use only applies to the Windows Upgrade ISO and will not allow a fresh install of the operating system if it has nothing to build on, so you are correct in trying the Vista install. When you attempt to install VIsta are you using the HP Recovery Media or are you using the Windows Vista ISO? I would assume the drive that was installed in your notebook was larger than 250GB and would explain why an HP Recovery would fail during formatting but would not explain why the install failed if it was a licensed Windows ISO.
Have you tried installing Linux onto the HDD instead of using a USB boot? This will help you test the validity of the HDD.
You can try downloading a version of Windows 8.1 and skip the license key to activate the 30 day trial. (Search Google for Windows 8.1 Pro ISO downloads). Once installed activate Windows using the license key you purchased for an upgrade which theoretically should work.
Let me know if that helps or if installing Linux to the HDD fails as well.
