Auto Log back in

I have a DSL connection through my LAN. Sometimes if I’ve left my computer for a few hours I get a message that says that I’ve been disconnected from AIM and Jabber. I never got this problem when I used windows machines. Is there anyway to get it to log in automatically after the connection is lost?
P.S. I also get this problem with MSN Messenger

Hi CMoney,
Is your computer going to Sleep ?
Macs will disconnect form the Network when this happens.
The apps can start up faster than the Network is re-established on waking.
Set the computer to Never Sleep in System Preferences > Energy Saver.

Origins is an EA product so I would suggest checking with EA or Electronic Arts to see if the Origins servers are having an issue or checking your user name and password with them.

  • Auto Log off when a time has passed without logging back onto the Domain ??

    Morning World,
I hope someone can help me, we are a high school with close to 800+ computers in school with Teacher laptops which they take home and use at home, that bits not the problem they log on at home with their domain user account and the same privileges/restrictions
which they have in school, the issue we have is.... once they get the laptops home they never bring them back into school, thus updates are not installed, AV not updated, Anti mal not updated and so on... on our old domain (server 2003 and win xp clients) we
had a vbs script which after a certain number of days warned them to bring it back to school, then again and then finally it disabled the laptop say after 55 days of it not being connected to the domain, however this was with a local user (Home) on the laptop,
now they log on with a synchronised domain user account, is there a GPO or a vbs script that anyone knows of which will do the same ??
    Server 2012 r2
    Windows 7 enterprise clients
many thanks have a nice day
    Andy

    Hi,
Do you mean these users haven't log back to domain for a long time, then we can consider them as inactive users. we can temporarily disable these user accounts.
I found some scripts which might be helpful for you

    Hi Guys,
Could you please help me here which tranaction code we use to  check APO Livecache DB Backup and Livecache Auto Log Backup
    Thank you

    Hi,
Livecache DB and log back up looks like can not be accessed from SAP. Database Manager GUI is used.
Please check the below link for helpful information.

  • No Auto Log In

Old Snow station died, so I am now upgraded to a new Airport Extreme on my Dual 1 Gig G-4 running OSX 10.4.6.
Under my Snow airport, the system auto logged into the network 100% of the time and remembered it's network name.
Now, I manually have to choose the only network it sees..to get it to start the connection.
What am I doing wrong, and is there a way to get it to automatically open the netowkr connection without me having to manually open it?
Also experiancing some "momementary drops" where for no apparent reason the strength bar goes from 4 to zero and then comes back full strength.
Takes some getting used to and never had either issue with the old system!

    Got it!
    Open Network Prefs
    Highlight Airport
    Open Options
    Highlight "Automatically Join"
Seems to have worked in my case.:)

  • I want to disable auto log-out

I have a Mac Air OS 10.9.5.  Normally, when I it is either idle for a time or I close the computer, it goes into sleep mode  (but it does NOT quit all applications and log out) and requires a password to use it again -- that's the way I want it.
But sometimes, it when it goes idle or I shut it, it logs out or there is a count-down to logging out that I need to cancel when I come back in.  Although I DO want to have to key in my password, I don't want to have to log back in because when it logs out, it quits all my applications.
How do I retain the password function while disabling the auto-log-out function?

    From the menu bar, select
               ▹ System Preferences... ▹ Security & Privacy
If there's a closed padlock icon in the lower left corner of the preference pane, click it and enter your login password when prompted.
Click the Advanced button and, in the sheet that opens, uncheck the box marked
Log out after … minutes of inactivity

  • Auto log out issue

Since upgrading to Maverick, my iMac has started to log out after about 15-20 minutes of inactivity. The energy settings are 1hr computer sleep and 10min display sleep.  And I have tried both unchecking the auto log out in “Advanced” Security & Privacy, and checking the box and setting it to 360min. Also tried deleting a couple of the Library/Preferences files that have been suggested before.
The computer first goes to screen saver at 10min, it can be awakened to the desktop, but if you leave it inactive for 15-20 min it will first go to the screen saver, then log out after another 5-10 min to the login screen. The apps that were open will re-open when you log back in.
    iMac 2.66 Core 2 Duo(early 2008), 4 GB SDRAM(early 2008), OS X 10.9.1

I would like to add to this issue, just noticed that even though the screen saver is now set to 15 min, the display goes to screen saver at ~5 min. The clock in the upper right corner shows the correct time.

  • Won't remember my auto log in password for SKY...have to manually insert password every time. all other sites are OK..

whenever I use SKY for my email [ many time a day] - ([email protected]) Firefox won't remember my password (it's in settings - show passwords - so I know its there..) So every time I have to enter it manually - it's becoming a bit of a pain....
All other sites I access using passwords (YouTube / eBay ect) ALL auito log in properly - I've tried deleting from the saved password list and adding again but it still won't auto log in..what's up...???

Try this if you met the same problem
    Syndrome:
The wireless network name appeared on the System Preference>Network>Airport>Advanced>Preferred Networks List, but every time when start computer or wake up, a popup window said "None preferred network is available" and ask me to select a new net work, if I select the same network, the password is there. The system keychain can remember the password but System preference cannot remember the Preferred/Joined wireless network.
    Reason:
Fix to this problem that strangely centred on the specific location of the “System Preferences.app”, if other than the standard location of the root of the “Applications” folder.
If you have moved the System Preferences application (not alias, actual app) to any other location for any reason, your newly joined preferred network will NOT be properly remembered and will NEVER be properly rejoined.
    Solution:
    1) Move “System Preferences.app” back to “Applications\”.
    2) Delete all instances of “Preferred Networks” in “Network Preferences”.
    3) Delete all “Airport network password” instances in “Keychain Access”.
    4) Restart your Mac.
    5) Add/Join applicable preferred network using the Airport pulldown menu or in Network Preferences (as if for the first time). Use “Advanced” in “Network Preferences” to confirm the existence of your preferred network and the correct settings. Use “Keychain Access” to confirm the existence of the applicable “Airport network password” instance and the correct settings.
    6) Restart your Mac. The OS should now find your preferred network and join it on its own. Good Luck!
NOTE: Simply moving back System Preferences will NOT suffice. Deleting and re-adding/joining the preferred network is a must after the app has been moved.

  • Home folder mounted after logging out then logging back in

After I logged out of my account, I logged back in to see nothing on my desktop except for "Macintosh HD." I click on it and noticed that my home folder is mounted as a disk image under "Places." By "home folder" I meant the folder found at MacintoshHD\users\name-of-folder. I did not shutdown and login again, I logged out back to the main login screen, then logged in again under the same account. Shutting down the computer before logging in to the same account prevents this from happening, but logging out then logging back in causes it to happen. How do I fix this problem?

Sorry for the delay - perhaps bump sooner next time.
I use 10.5.8 and don't recall seeing this. A picture may help.
    My advice is:
Backup Home folder and perhaps whole disk to an external disk or DVD with eg Carbon Copy Cloner
    Install the free AppleJack
Reboot holding cmd s until you see text
    Wait until text stops
    Type: applejack AUTO shutdown
    Hit return key
Don't touch but prepare for a long wait - may take hours the first time
You can probably ignore the many error messages
    Reboot after it has shutdown
First boot will take longer than usual as it rebuilds caches
I find AppleJack far better than Apple's Disk Utility.

  • Have to manually "mark as read" emails. Need auto mode back

I have to manually "mark as read" all my emails through right clicking in drop down menu. I need auto mode back. Can't find where to make it happen. Even reloaded " Mail " from Leopard DVD. Still have to " mark as read" manually. Any ideas?

do you have more than one email account? and if so do you get the same behavior across email accounts?
also, can you log in as another user, launch Mail, create an account in Mail, maybe a simple pop account, and see if you get the same issue logged in as another user. That way you will know if it is a user specific issue if as another user the issue cannot be replicated, or an app/system issue if the issue repeats itself.
    I would suggest the following:
rebuild every mailbox, see if that helps
repair permissions in applications>utilities>disk utility and repair permissions, see if that helps
delete one of your accounts, the recreate, and see if that helps
    let me know

  • Auto-logging in to Apple Discussions

Is it possible to auto-login to Apple Discussions?
Each time I close my browser I always have to enter my password.
    THANKS

    Hi,
From your Safari menu bar click Safari / Preferences then select the Autofill tab.
Select the box next to: *User names and passwords*
Logout of AD, log back in. Enter your user name and password. You should be prompted to save that data to a new keychain in Keychain Access where your passwords are stored.
The next time you login to AD, you shouldn't have to enter your login information.

So I serched online to try and fix it. In the end I logged out of my App store because it wasnt letting me download anything and I also logged out of itunes. And now it wont let me log back in to any of my stuff and none of my ipod information will download to a computer. And it says that theres an error with my accounts. So should I try resetting the ipod or create new accounts or what? Please help me.

You can't buy more storage on an iPad. You are referring to space on iCloud and that probably won't accomplish what you are trying to do.

  • Automatically log back in for a given period of time

I just started to work on web and have the following issue:
We want some (mobile) users to be able to automatically log back in for a given period of time. It is not difficult to set cookie (valid user information without clear text) on the mobile device. For now the question is how we can log in using this cookie info.
Web application uses "j_security_check", "j_security_check" checks the user/password.
Question is how we can autologin using cookie information. Thanks guys!

it is not problem to check cookie on exists and valid. Problem is 'where' where can I do it using 'j_security_check'
