Auto login problem

On startup with auto login enabled my user account seems to be somewhat crippled i.e ClearDock not enabled, Xsounds not enabled, no automatic access to my wireless router. If I log out and then log back in everything is fine or if I turn auto login off in Accounts everything is OK. This problem just started recently. Hope someone can help with this one.

Resetting Password
1. Shut down comp & wait a few minutes.
2. Turn on & at the same time hold down the “command” & “R” keys.
3.  Next screen….. In the menu bar click on Utilities (NOT OS X UTILITIES)
4.  In the drop down menu, click on Terminal.
5.  In the terminal pop up small window:  Type exactly—> resetpassword  Hit return key.
6.  Reset password window will pop up.  Follow the onscreen instructions to reset password.  Make sure you select the admin account to reset the password.
7.  You can ignore the “keychain” pop up windows, which is what I did.  Does not affect anything.
You can do the keychain stuff at your leisure.
8.  Quit out of everything & restart your computer.
9.  Enter your new reset password.
Once you are back on the desktop, you can go into System Preferences>Users & Groups and keep auto login.

I did auto login for discoverer 4i plus for 9i AS(2.1).It worked
fine. I did the same for 9i AS(2.2).Basically i tried to get

    webdisc.js like this
    var user = getCookie ("Username");
If i remove this line my discoverer 4i plus works fine without
having any problem.if add the above code then i get the

    Hi Jerome ,
    Thanks for the reply.
I installed 9iAS(2.2) on NT. clint is on WIN2000.
    Are u using cookies?
In my viewer, i've provided a link to plus. When an user hit
this link it should take the userid from viewer and auto logins
to plus. In viewer, i'm putting the userid and password in a
cookie and reads the information from cookie in webdisc.js(This
is disco plus script file for auto login)
I did the whole process in 9iAS(2.1) it works fine. Only this
    version(2.2) i'm getting the error

I'm interested to know how u did auto login on NT using <PARAM>

  • WiFi auto login problem

I have a iphone 3g s with ios 4.1. My institution has a wifi connection in which after connecting to the wifi network we have to login through a web page. The institution has two login pages, one for desktops and the other for mobiles. The problem is that the mobile page is not properly coded so even after entering username and password and clicking, it would come back to the same page and thus no logon. Earlier I had a nokia n95 phone in which after connecting to the wifi network, whenever the mobile site used to open, I would edit the link and open the desktop version. Now in iphone whenever I connect to the network, the mobile version always opens up with no address bar and thus I can't login.
Can anybody help me as to how I can edit and open the desktop version.

Don't close the auto login page - edit the URL for the login page provided for the Desktop version.
If this is not successful, the brainiacs at your institution in charge of this need to update the login page that is provided for mobile devices so this isn't a problem - especially with the number of mobile devices that are available now which will continue to increase. This was a problem with your Nokia and now with your iPhone, so whoever is in charge of this at your institution should eliminate the mobile version of the login page and just provide the Desktop version since they don't know what they are doing with the mobile version.

#Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
#Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
#Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.

  • Problems joining Wi-Fi networks that require viewing a redirect page in iOS 8.1.1? Check your "Auto-Login" setting.

Are you having problems joining previously used Wi-Fi networks that require you to view a login or redirect page (say to accept Terms of Use) first?  The problem could be your Auto-Login Wi-Fi network setting.
I found numerous cases where I could not access in-store Wi-Fi networks (Nordstrom was one), hotel networks or in fact networks where you had to first view a Terms and Conditions page or where you had to login via a web form.
These were all networks I had used before.
This appears to be due to the "Auto-Login" setting assuming that once you (re)join a previously known network you can just go ahead and use it without further action. When the iOS device receives an error trying to use the network, it silently drops the Wi-Fi association.
If this is happening to you, follow these steps:
    1) Go to Settings -> Wi-Fi
    2) Select the network you want to join
    3) When a check-mark appears next to the SSID, press the "i" button on the right hand side
    4) Set Auto-Join however you want, but shut off the Auto-Login switch
    5) Now attempt to use the network and you should be presented with the usual redirect page with terms you must accept or where you must login to use the Wi-Fi network in question
This cleared up the issue for me everywhere I had previously been having issues.

Just let me get one thing straight...you don't change don't do this for the PC you have your router plugged in to?
    "For Vista:
    1. Open Control Panel, Network and Internet, Network and Sharing Center, Manage Network Connections
    2. If Wireless, Right click on your Wireless Network Connection, otherwise, Right click on Local Area Connection and click Properties
    3. Highlight Internet Protocol Version 4(TCP/IPv4)
    4. Click Properties
    5. Tick Use the Following IP Address and enter the IP you want to use for that PC. I would start at 192.168.0.100(D-Link) and work your way up on each additional device. The second device would be 192.168.0.101, the 3rd, 192.168.0.102 and so on. Like I said, different brands of routers use different IP's, so it could be 192.168.1.100 and so on, so you will need to know the IP address of your router first.
    6. Subnet Mask is 255.255.255.0 on all pc's and devices
    7. Default Gateway is 192.168.0.1(D-Link) or whatever your router's IP is on all pc's and devices
    8. Tick Use the Following DNS Server Address and enter 192.168.0.1(D-Link) or whatever your router's IP is and click OK.
    9. You will need to do this on all Vista Pc's"

  • Safari Auto-login/ Auto-fill problem

    Hi!
I recently updated my safari after which I have been unable to auto login to my yahoo, gmail etc accounts. I have checked my safari preferences and all 3 auto-fill webform tabs are clicked. Also, when I go into yahoo, it does not prompt me to ask if i want to save my password. For my other accounts e.g gmail, they prompt me and my password + user-ids are still saved, just that i have to press the sign in button.
Also, it stays signed it as long as i am on safari. However, if I were to quit safari and use safari again, it goes back to square one and no longer keeps me signed it.
What can I do to enable safari to auto-login for all my accounts?
    Thanks!

I have asked a similar question several times before, and I have the answers varied from the typical I do not have that problem to its a security feature incorporated in Safari.
I tend to think it is a new feature added ito safari n the last several months (via an update).
The bottom line is I am NO longer able to stay logged into various websites if I quit safari, even though the websites have the feature available that should allow a user to stay logged in for 2 weeks.
The only way I can now stay logged in for an extended period of time is to NEVER quit Safari.
That is not an option for me.

  • Auto login in AUR with Firefox.

Is there a way to auto login into AUR with Firefox. Now when I get there, the username and password is filled in. But I would like to be logged in. I think Opera does it.
    Possible?

It should work, I've updated my FF last week and had no problem so far. Actually I'm using FireFox 2.0.0.8 to post this message. I have noscript extension as well.
All you need to do is enable cookies for forms.oracle.com/ and set it as whitelisted if you have any security extensions.

  • MDT 2012 - Auto login settings were gone at the end of the deployment

I need to make some PC for public use (Has a local user account that no need to login)
There's no problem for me to created the local user account and and its profile folder by using custom tasks.
The auto login settings also successfully set by modify the registry or use Sysinternals - Autologon.exe
But after the last restart of th PC (I set to restart at the end of the deployment), Windows stuck at the login screen.
Then I found that all the auto login settings were gone (Both in the registry and netplwiz).
Since this custom task is place near the end in the Task sequence (which means there should be no other task that can influence it). So, I suspect may be the Group Policy reset all those settings.

I had the same problem, and these were my solutions:
Comment out the relevant lines in LTICleanup. I tried to avoid this, in case any updates to MDT reversed the change. Also even if I documented it, it might not be apparent to another technician years down the line. I prefer to leave the MDT files unchanged.
Create a script that runs after the task sequence has completed. This is the option I chose, and it was a bit more complicated than it appeared.
What I did was as follows:
Create a new AutoLogon Script application.
The "application" must consist of two script files: install and autologon.
The "install" script does the following:
Copy the "autologon" script to a temporary folder on the local drive
Create a new scheduled task which runs on startup, as the SYSTEM user, and runs the "autologon" script (using schtasks.exe)
The "autologon" script does the following:
Create the relevant registry keys to enable automatic logon.
    Delete the above scheduled task.
    Reboot the workstation.
In the MDT task sequence, create a new task at the very end, which installs a single application. Choose the AutoLogon Script application.
    In your CustomSettings.ini, set FinishAction=REBOOT
So at the end of your task sequence, the workstation will reboot. It will then run the autologon script after boot up, but will not autologon. When the script finishes, it will reboot again, at which point it will autologon with the details you specified.
It's a little fiddly, but works for me.
Johan Arwidmark has another method here, which might be even easier - http://www.deploymentresearch.com/Research/tabid/62/EntryId/122/Final-Configuration-for-MDT-2013-Lite-Touch-now-with-Autologon-support.aspx

  • Auto-login using cookies

I have been prototyping and researching Weblogic authentication for several weeks
now. With a form-based login servlet, how would one implement auto-login? Basically,
the web site is supposed to set a persistent cookie which contains the users login
information (encrypted). When the user comes back, they should be logged in automatically.
This seems like a pretty common concept, but totally unsupported by J2EE. I have
looked into using filters, but ran into several problems. First, filters don't
get executed on a protected resource unless the user is authenticated. I don't
want to use Weblogic's AuthFilter since it's deprecated. Secondly, I tried modifying
my login servlet to forward to j_security_check. That doesn't work because Weblogic
won't let you. There is a workaround for that, but j_security_check ignores whatever
wrapper you put around HttpServletRequest. This makes it impossible to "login"
for the user. Third, I tried using ServletAuthentication.weak() to manually authenticate
the user, but how do I redirect the user back to the intended URL? I figured
out where Weblogic stores the URL in the HttpSession, but that's not officially
    documented.
I noticed some references in Weblogic's Portal product that it supports auto-login.
However, I haven't figured out how to do it myself in a Weblogic server.
I am using Weblogic 7 sp2. Thanks in advance.

    Chun,
what you need to do is to implement is a Perimeter Authentication. I did that
successfully with SP2. You have to use SP2, because in SP1 there qas no way to
supress that all cookies are BASE64 decrypted.
What helped me a lot is to study SampleSecurityProvidersUnmanaged.zip that you
    can download from
    dev2dev/code
    Enjoy!
    Cheers.

  • Auto-login issues since Restoring to new iPod Touch

I recently purchased the new iPod Touch 32GB and restored all of my settings from my previous iPod onto this one. My previous Touch was also on 3.0.
Since the upgrade I have had constant issues with the auto-login web feature at my local Starbucks. It sits on the "Connecting" screen and then eventually fails. Then I have to choose to connect to the network (because it automatically disconnects wifi when the login fails). Then when I connect a second time it brings me directly to the login screen where I can enter my account info and choose to save it to auto-login in the future. The problem is that it never seems to work the next day when I try to connect again.
My previous iPod Touch never had issues with the auto-login feature. And let me tell you that it is frustrating that there is no cancel from the dimmed "connecting" screen. I have to wait 4-5 minutes for it to realize it's not working.
    I have already tried:

    -Clearing Cookies
    -Clearing Autofill Names and Passwords

  • MBP NVIDIA blackout - Change auto login in sys pref's?

I have an appointment in a couple of hours @ Apple Store... I when working at home check the auto login to the main user name I use to save time at boot up. Now I have to bring in my MBP and have them work on it. I have some proprietary stuff on the thing that I would like to have not available to who ever works on my computer, so, the question is HOW do I change the System Preferences for the auto startup to just boot up to the login window when I can't see the screen to use the mouse to change it?

Well, I brought it in without changing the auto-login, and they asked for the login password anyway, so I guess that my question was and would have been moot.
The 'genius' that 'helped' me, tested my MBP and said that it "failed - eligible processor not found" - and that I had to pay the flat rate + labor ($310) + taxes. The claimed resolution was to replace the MLB. Which is what they do when NVIDIA card is the claimed problem since it is soldered to the MLB. So, new questions are...
WHAT is the difference between my NVIDIA problem and the one they are claiming is the covered one???????
What recourses are there for we that have a NVIDIA problem that is not covered (other than biting the bullet and paying)??
I left my MBPro for the repair and it should be back in the store today for pickup. Is it possible the repair shop will tell the store to not charge me for the repair? (RE: Article: T52377)
