Auto power on with 29P1300VM

Hi guys,
Currently having problem with the 29P1300VM tv. I using a timer to turn the tv on and off. I set the timer to turn on at 8am and turn on at 6pm. The problem is, at 8am when power is on, the tv will not auto power on. It goes into standby mode where I will have to use the remote control to power on or press the power button on the control panel only it will on.
Is there a way the tv will auto on when the power is on?

That doesn't appear to be a US model, and this is the forums for Toshiba USA. You may want to contact Toshiba in your region.

  • Auto power-on for MacMini with WinXp

Anyone know how to enable auto restart on an Intel Mini running WinXp (bootcamp).
I would like to use the MacMini as media center for some project. The machine must run WinXP. If there's a power failure, I want the Mini to auto power-on again by itself once the power supply recover.
The problem I'm facing now is the EFI. Most auto-restart feature in WinXp only works on BIOS.

You should probably post your question in the Boot Camp discussions:

  • About auto power off function

    Hello again guys,
long time no see ,since yesterday as far as I remember
Talking about Auto Power Off function , is there anyone that can tell us , it could be used on long terms - many days for example - as long as no one push the shutter or any button to wake the "beast" ?
This function completly shut down the camera or it's a kind of sleep function and some parts remain power supplied ?
    Thanks,
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

It's not completly shutdown. However, it should not cost too much power if any at all. I have it on for a week. Unless you turn on the GPS. With GPS turned on, even if you turn off the camera, it is still active.

  • UPDATE to "Premiere Pro's #1 missing feature": Auto-Tagging Bins with Shortcuts

In a previous thread (http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1179075?start=0&tstart=0) I suggested that Adobe give us FCPX and FCP7-style subclip creation.
I just got some new ideas that improve this previous FR:
AUTO-TAGGING BINS with user assignable SHORTCUTS
    1.   Creating an auto-tagging Bin could be as simple as adding a special character such as ‘#’ in front of its title.  So for example, renaming a Bin from ‘Interviews’ to ‘#Interviews’ would automatically add the tag ‘Interviews’ to the metadata of all clips within it.  Users could even add several auto-tags to a single Bin.  For example, by naming a Bin ‘University #Interviews #Staff’, any clips added to that bin would automatically inherit the searchable metadata tags ‘Interview’ and ‘Staff’, but not ‘University’ since it doesn't have the ‘#’ symbol added in front of it.
    2.  Contrary to FCPX’s 'keyword collections' approach, my approach would also allow Bin/Sub Bin tagging hierarchies.  Imagine the following Bin structure: A parent Bin named ‘Interviews’ containing 3 sub-Bins named ‘Staff’, ‘Students’ and ‘Sound bites’.  Adding an auto-tag to the parent Bin, (e.g. changing the name to ‘#Interviews’) would automatically propagate that tag to the contents of all sub-Bins!  The organizational power of this would be amazing!
    3.  At any time, a user could remove metadata tags from clips simply by dragging the clips out of an auto-tagging Bin, or by removing the auto-tag from the Bin itself.
    4.  Any number of Bins, whether enabled for auto-tagging or not, could be given keyboard shortcuts.  Doing so could be as simple as selecting a new ‘Assign shortcut’ option from the Bin’s context menu, which would automatically bring up the ‘Keyboard Shortcuts’ window, with a new ‘Bins’ root folder twirled open and ready for use (in addition to the current root folders: ‘Application’, ‘Panels’ and ‘Tools’).  For easy visual reference, this ‘Bins’ root folder would automatically be populated with the names of every Project Window Bin, in their current hierarchy.  So, using the previous example, the Bin ‘Interviews’ would have a twirly arrow to twirl down/up its sub-Bins ‘Staff’, ‘Students’ and ‘Sound bites’.
    5. Any time a user adds a shortcut to a bin, that shortcut would appear at the end of the Bin’s name (e.g. adding the shortcut ’2′ to the Bin ‘Interviews’ would result in the Bin’s name appearing like this: ‘Interviews {2}’).  Thus users would always have a quick visual reference for remembering shortcuts.
    6. These options would give users 4 great ways to add clips/sub-clips to Bins for sorting and/or auto-tagging:
Use a Bin’s shortcut to send a clip’s in/out range from the Source Monitor to the Bin.
Use a Bin’s shortcut to create sub-clips of 1 or more selected clips in the Timeline (something you can’t do in FCPX!)
    Drag&drop a clip’s in/out range from the Source Monitor to a Bin.
Drag&drop 1 or more clips from the Timeline to automatically create subclips that inherit any present auto-tags.
IMHO, FCPX still has superior organizational tools vs PP, at the moment, but with the suggested features above, PP would truly one-up FCPX in this regard!
Hopefully all of this is clear.  Thoughts?  Comments?

  • MacBook Pro Retina 15" Auto Power Off

    Hi,
I have "auto power off" issue with my newly bought MacBook Pro Retina 15".
This problem is very annoying, my MacBook Pro just auto power off, where I check the battery is 100% fully charged.
The first encountered was about a month ago, the night I cannot turn on my MacBook Pro at all, the next day I sent it back to Apple Service Centre. The technician open up the bottom part, reset the battery by removing the battery cable, plug it back. Then turn on and perform some diagnosis test.
It was working fine for about 2 weeks, and now the "auto power off" happen everyday.
I have repartition my SSD drive to 2 partitions using BootCamp and installed with Windows 7 x64.
At first, this problem happen when I boot into Windows 7 with BootCamp, at first, I thought this problem is due to Windows Drivers, and I have no choice but purchase Parallels Desktop, to run my Windows with OSX 10.8.2. After the Parallels installed, I upgrade my second partition to run Windows 7 concurrently with OSX, it was running fine on the first day! And I thought it has solve my problems, unfortunately the next day, this problems occurs again.
I suspect this is due to hardward failure, something to do with the battery. Looks like the drivers is telling the Operating System, battery is 0%, and it just turn off itself.
Anyone experience this? Please share your experience or advice what should I do next?
    Regards,
    Dave

Hey Dave. Yes yes yes! Try reading through the thread below. Especially at the end. It has to do with an 'autopoweroff' setting that appears to be new and annoying.
When plugged in, goes from sleep to hibernate after 4 hours of sleep (or 14,400 seconds).
    Very easy to turn off.
This after many hours of research and discussion with no help from the folks at Apple.
Basically, to query the settings (enter this from Terminal):
    pmset -g | grep autopoweroff
You'll see the autopoweroff set to '1' and autopoweroffdelay set to 14400.
To actually turn that 'feature' off:
    sudo pmset -a autopoweroff 0
    (then enter your Mac password)
Now it will just sleep when plugged in and not go into hibernate.
You can also tell the Mac how long before it powers off via the autopoweroffdelay setting (if you like this silly feature), but I just turned the sucker off.
    Here is the thread:
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/20819713?ac_cid=tw123456#20819713
Hopefully, that's the same problem you have, and it will quickly fix it.
    Cheers,
    Bryan...

  • Auto Power On

Anyone ever use Power On feature?
    I have ThinkPad T500.
Does anybody knows this model can set Auto Power On feature?
I heard it depends on Bios, but I couldn't figure out my Bios support Auto Power On feature or not.
Anybody can direct me to Bios manual or which Lenovo models handle Auto Power On feature?

Hi and welcome to the forum jugem!
As far as my knowledge goes, only the models released after Tx00 (e.g. Tx10) support this feature.
    Hope this helps.

  • U400 auto power on

my U400 will random auto power on from off state when plugged into the ac wall socket ( switch on ). if the switch is off, it will not auto power on. what is the problem here ? a laptop should only power on when you press the power button. thank for advice.

    hi sunstreaker,
AFAIK, one way for a computer to turn ON from an off state is via the Wake-On-Lan feature.Check it out and see if your laptop supports it:
What is Wake-on-LAN and How Do I Enable It?
If this is not applicable to your system, the power board where the power connector is attached is probably grounded which causes the intermittent behavior - i recommend you contact lenovo to report the issue.
    Best regards,

  • MacPro - External FW800 drives & auto power off

Hi, I have a new Mac Pro and am using two LaCie FW800 external drives with auto power off facility however when I power my Mac Pro down there is still power going to the FW800 ports as the drives down shut down. I am new to macs so is there any config setting to get round this issue?
    Cheers
    Paul

Don't believe there is but the power to the firewire port is a built in specification.
You could go to the Apple Developer site and look at their firewire SDK (there's many firewire applications, what they do I don't really know. Little too scarry for me.

  • How to erase a hard drive on a i MAC Power PC with OSX 10.5.8 pre-intel?

I got this i Mac G5 Power PC with a 20" screen (no iSight) and last generation of i Mac repaired.  Capacitors and a power supply did revive my machine and it works fine.  I would like to donate my machine and want to erase the hard drive and make sure that all my personal data is gone.
I have the Leopard disk and I am told that if I booth my machine with the disk while holding the C key then I can go to Disk Utility and erase my hard drive.
Does anyone have a step-by-step approach to guide me through this?
Any help will be most appreciated!
    Thank you,
    Guy

    Drive Preparation
    1. Boot from your OS X Installer Disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button.  When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
    2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of the drive in DU's status area.  If it does not say "Verified" then the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing.  SMART info will not be reported  on external drives. Otherwise, click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
    3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
    4. Select the volume you just created (this is the sub-entry under the drive entry) from the left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
    5. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Security button, check the button for Zero Data and click on OK to return to the Erase window.
    6. Click on the Erase button. The format process can take up to several hours depending upon the drive size.
Steps 4-6 are optional but should be used on a drive that has never been formatted before, if the format type is not Mac OS Extended, if the partition scheme has been changed, or if a different operating system (not OS X) has been installed on the drive.

  • Is it possible to use old Apple Flat Panel Display (62 watt power adapter) with MacBookPro 13" Mid-2012 running 10.8.4? Tried mini display to VGA cable

Is it possible to use old Apple Flat Panel Display (62 watt power adapter) with a MacBookPro 13" Mid-2012 laptop?  Would like to use larger screen when working at home.  I have a mini display port to VGA cable and have tried to hook up the old display but it seems not to work.  When I try to activate the screen on the old display-- a window comes up in the MacBookPro and asks me if I want to shut down the computer.  What little I have read it that the MacBookPro had Thunderbolt and the old display may not be compatible?  Any assistance would be appreciated.

    11.09.12 22:16:06,148 ClamXavSentry[286]: I will quarantine infected files
This doesn't have anything to do with your problem, but it will likely cause other issues with your e-mail.
Here's my standard recommendation concerting the use of A-V software to deal with potentially infected messages:
Never use ClamXav (or any other A-V software) to move (quarantine) or delete e-mail. It will corrupt the mailbox index which could cause loss of other e-mail and other issues with functions such as searching. It may also leave the original e-mail on your ISP's e-mail server and will be re-downloaded to your hard drive the next time you check for new mail.
So, if you choose to "Scan e-mail content for malware and phishing" in the General Preferences, make sure you do not elect to either Quarantine or Delete infected files.
When possibly infected e-mail files are found:
Right-click/Control-click on either the infection or file name in the ClamXav window.
Select "Reveal In Finder" from the pop-up menu.
When the window opens, double-click on the file to open the message in your e-mail client application.
Read the message and if you agree that it is junk/spam/phishing then use the e-mail client's delete button to delete it (this is especially important when the word "Heuristics" appears in the infection name).
If you disagree and choose to retain the message, return to ClamXav and choose "Exclude From Future Scans" from the pop-up menu.
If this is a g-mail account and those messages continue to show up after you have deleted them in the above manner, you may need to log in to webmail using your browser, go to the "All Mail" folder, find the message(s) and use the delete button there to permanently delete them from the server.
To fix the corrupted mailbox index(es), highlight each one that was corrupted and choose Rebuild from the appropriate menu.
