Auto purge emails from iphone in iOS 7

How do you set up an iphone to automatically delete emails. I use Mail on my iphone and computer, and a POP email account. I don't want to delete inbox messages from the server, just my iphone.

Have the same problem!!! Can't understand why Apple persist in this approach - should be able to 'Select All', cancel selection of specific emails if required, and then choose Delete. Not being able to do this is a real time waster and very frustrating - I find I have to go in twice a day and select each email I want to Trash and then send them to trash to avoid a major build-up and time waster.
Makes no sense to me - GET AFTER DOING SOMETHING APPLE.

There is no field available to enter an email address for the Bcc to be sent to at Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Always Bcc Myself, so this isn't possible. The Bcc will be sent to the email address for the email account the message was sent with.

Not sure about yahoo, but for gmail, I done the following:
Set up using Exchange on iPhone, it'll keep prompting for password. On PC use captcha option, log in to gmail account from PC after completingg captcha option, enter password on iPhone.
See how that goes for gmail, let us know.
Hopefully someone will have fix for yahoo.

Recently, I have become unable to send emails from my comcast email account. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the account, but get an error (Cannot send. Username or password for Comcast invalid). The username and password are correct, though, as my email works fine on my non-Mac laptop. Any suggestions?

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. Try closing the Mail app completely and see if it works properly when you re-open it : from the home screen (i.e. not with the Mail app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Mail app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work then try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

On my own, I discovered the following, which worked (one responder got the solution part correct for Google): For Yahoo, where I just use a standard login with no extra verification, I had to go into Yahoo and change my password. Once I did this, the new iPhone had no problem registering accepting my Yahoo account. I WAS, however, using the correct password and user name all along, for those who did not think that was the case. The problem is on the iPhone software side. For Google, I use a two step verification, and for that, one must go to Google Mail and obtain a specific, unique password, that is designed to work only on iPhones. Hope this helps anyone else with this dilemma.

The latest in a string of issues I've had with Mountain Lion, and even more with Lion. This is the latest and most frustrating.
Eveytime I send an email from iphone or ipad, mail on my macbook pro crashes. This happens everytime!
Also, Safari is unusable as keeps crashing and hardly ever loads properly so moved to Chrome which works perfectly.

The user name and password are in two places. Make sure they are correct in both locations.
Settings>>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>>your email>>
First spot is here under INCOMING MAIL SERVER
Below this is OUTGOING MAIL SERVER
Select: SMTP smtp.comcast.net>> PRIMARY SERVER :smtp.comcast.net>>second location of user name and password
Here is the second place that the user name and password must be checked.
I had changed my password in the first spot, but not the second spot. I had been receiving the same error message. This fixed my problem.

Tap on your mail account
Scroll to the bottom
Tap on Advanced
Tap on "Delete from server" and set it to "Never"

You'll need to contact the previous owner to get them to remove the account.
There is no way to bypass this security feature. If you can't contact the previous owner you have wasted your money and have a phone you'll never be able to use.

Not if you're using iTunes Match. You can only delete all downloaded music by going to Settings>General>Usage>Music, swipping All Music, then tapping Delete. Then redownload the music you want from iCloud. If you aren't using iTunes Match, you can try swipping the album/songs to see if Delete appears; not sure if this works in iOS 6 or not. (It doesn't with iTuens Match anymore.)

Your iPhone mirrors exactly what is in your iCloud email account. If you delete the email from your phone it will be deleted from the iCloud server.

To remove a photo from iPhoto and your Mac:
Put it in the iPhoto Trash, then enpty it. Then empty the system trash as well
If you want to remove a photo from iPhoto but keep it on your Mac:
First Export the file from iPhoto (File -> Export) to whereever you want it and then go through the steps above.
Confusion arises as the notion that you would want to remove a pic from iPhoto but keep it doesn't make a whole lot of sense. It's like saying I want to remove one address from Address Book, but still keep it on my Mac. The point of iPhoto and such apps is that they are used to manage your photos. Anything that you need to do with the pics cn be done either with or via iPhoto.
