Auto-removing calendar entries in Mavericks

Prior to upgrading to Mavericks, we used to configure iCal so that meetings and events would be removed automatically after say 30 days. Did that functionality disappear?

I've unchecked the Syncronize with Microsoft Outlook option within iTunes, but the calendar entries are still on my iPod. How do I get rid of them?

  • Installing Maverick on my Mac lost almost all of the calendar entries. They are still on my iPhone and new entries move freely to both devices via iCloud. How do I get the entries from my iPhone to iCloud without losing them from iPhone?

Like many others after I installed Maverick I found that all the calendar history has been lost and most of the forward info has also been lost. Also in order to get calendar, contacts and notes to sync with the iPhone I have had to move to iCloud. Contacts and notes sync fine. new calendar entries sync ok. My iPhone has all the calendar entries that were on the Mac before I installed Maverick. So far iCloud has not overwritten them nor have they synced onto iCloud.
How can I get all the entries from my iPhone onto iCloud, without losing the only copy of my calendar from my iPhone?
Thanks Apple for deciding to take over my privacy. I do not want this data stored on a US based server. Fortunately Mail still syncs via my own email provider. I guess Apple will find a way to stop that soon too!

    Greetings Nefertiti72,
It seems you are experiencing an issue with contact syncing and management. It seems you've removed an email account which contained a number of contacts that are not associated with your iCloud account. I have linked to a knowledge base article which provides more information about iCloud contacts syncing:
Get help using iCloud Contacts - Apple Support
Learn what to do if you’re having issues using iCloud Contacts. For example, you might make changes to Contacts that don't update across all of your devices.
You may want to consider importing the contacts from the email account you removed. You can do it easily by following the steps in this article:
    iCloud: Import a vCard
You can import an electronic business card, also called a vCard, into iCloud Contacts. If the vCard contains contact information for more than one person, each contact becomes a separate entry.
In iCloud Contacts, choose Import vCard from the Action pop-up menu , which appears at the bottom of the All Contacts list or a list of group contacts
    Select a vCard to import.
The contacts from the vCard are added to the All Contacts group in Contacts. You can add the contacts to any other group by dragging them to the desired group.
Thank you for contributing to Apple Support Communities.

  • How do I remove duplicate iCloud calendar entries in iTunes

Hello Everyone and thanks in advance for any help on this issue!
The main issue is that in iTunes>Devices>Info>Sync Calendars, I see of Local calendars listed and also iCloud calendars listed (they show a portion of the address (CalDAV?) that they use to sync), and the issue is that I have DUPLICATE iCloud calendar entries here and I would love to remove them.
    Here is my setup:
MBP with Lion and iPhone 3G with all updates.
All of my calendars sync with iCloud (I also have an iPad, but not issue with it.) and there are no duplicate calendars or events in iCloud on the web, so this is fine.
I sync my iCloud/iCal calendars to my iPhone 3G (iOS 4.2.1) via iTunes and this is going well, so no problems here, either.
I would just like to remove the duplicate iCloud calendars from iTunes under the Info pane so as to simplify life and my understanding. Also, there are other apps (like TimeTable) that go and read the master list of calendars. So, on this app, I see ALL of the calendars by name without being able to distinguish them any other way.
Any ideas as to how I can climb inside of iTunes and remove the duplicate iCloud calendar entries?
    Thanks!
    Blessings,
    Justin

I can confirm that there are no duplicate contacts. Currently, because I use an iPhone 3G, my contacts are only being synced via iTunes, not via iCloud.
My question relates not to duplicate calendar events, but to duplicate calendar addresses (in iCloud) in iTunes' Info pane.
    Here is a pic:
So, you can see that there are 2 entries for 'Personal', each with the iCloud address (CalDAV?) attached to it. Note that one entry says, 'Personal iCld' instead of just 'Personal'. This is because I renamed all of my iCloud calendars in iCal to see if that would help me distinguish the 'working' calendars from the duplicate entries.
I would love to be able to get rid of the extra calendars in iTunes to avoid confusion. I do not have any duplicate calendar entries on any devices at this point. I think part of this is because I have deslected the duplicate calendar references in iTunes.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Justin

  • Duplicate calendar entry removal

How do I remove duplicate entries in calendar?

This might help, it solved my problem:
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/17860052#17860052
In this situation, the person was asking how to remove duplicates from their iPad. I was having the same problem on my iPhone as well as my MacBook. The instructions worked anyway.
Go to settings on your device, iCloud, Calenders: slide to off. Delete all events when asked. Wait 1-2 seconds, then slide Calenders back on. Merge all events when asked. Then check the Calender app. If it does not work, go to Calender on you Mac, and refresh the Calender. Then repeat.
I had to do this procedure twice before the duplicates went away, but at least it worked. I don't understand what is going on; it's like the system gets clogged up and you have to clean it out. Hope that helps.
If there is a better method, someone let us know.

  • Calendar entries failed to load on upgrade: Mavericks to Yosemite

ALL Calendar entries (in default Apple calendar app) failed to load on OS upgrade: OS X Mavericks to Yosemite 10.10.1
[MacBook Pro, 17 inch, Mid 2010, 2.66 Ghz Intel Core i7, 8 GB Ram 1067 MHz DDR3; 500 GB SATA storage / 145 GB free]
Thanks, in advance, for any help to restore old entries to the calendar.

    THANKS!
In "System Preferences / iCloud" the Calendar box had been un-checked previously.
The link that you provided, to "Calendar - Restore Calendar Events" did provide instructions that WORKED!
However, I may have "messed up" the process:   AFTER restoring the appropriate files, I opened Calendar...  no change;  I opened iCloud in System  Preferences and CHECKED the Calendars box...  no change.    I decided to REBOOT the system;  then opened Calendar.  Voila!   All my calendars and events are present.  That said, note that I still had the iCloud Calendars box checked before and after the reboot, and when opening Calendar.
I'm not sure, yet, if the present checkbox settings are my desired settings...   however, my desire was to get my calendars back, and I've got 'em!
    THANKS AGAIN!

  • Removing Auto Complete Address Entry

For Mail, I set Compose preference to auto complete address entry. At some point, I have entered an incorrect email address. Now, when I start to type that person's email address, I am presented with both the incorrect and correct address -- and I can never remember which is correct.
How can I remove an auto complete address entry forever?

    LCR,
To remove an old address go to Mail>Window>Previous Recipients...select and "Remove From List" for the one you no longer want.

  • Iphone4 has removed my calendar entries - how can I get them back?

after installing the new ios upgrade, my calendar entries have been removed.  how do I get them back?

If you backup your iPad, the entries may be in your backup but only the entries as of the date of the last backup will be in there. You can try restoring from a backup which will also restore everything in the backup onto the iPad. You can't just select the calandra entries to be restored.

  • Feature Request: Remove "No calendar entries today...

    Hi,
I have an e66 and I typically have only 1 or 2 calendar entries each week... so most days I have "No calendar entries today" on the home screen. It annoys me that my calendar is telling me to remember that there's nothing to remember today... it's like the alarm going off every morning telling me I don't need to get up early. It could tell me the same thing with less hassle by saying nothing at all. I also find that by having something there all the time, it means that when I _do_ have something to remember, it doesn't stand out like it should - ",,,Something,,," stands out more than "Nothing,Nothing,Nothing,Something,Nothing,Nothing,Nothing"
I worked around it on my old phone (6280) by adding a calendar entry for the next 20 years with just a space in it (so all you get on the home screen is a calendar icon) but this new phone is too smart and I get "Unnamed" if I try to use a space (or newline, or any pure whitespace combination I've tried).I've ended up using "To do:"  which is, if nothing else, short.
So I hereby request, either by default or as an option, for the calendar to only display something on the homescreen if there actually _is_ a calendar entry.. if there's no calendar entry to display, then _don't display anything_.

To all friends who see " no calendar entries today' in the home screen of Nokia E63:
I have got the problem before as I have made few entries on the {to do} list but when the date comes, there is no calendar entries today! Just like alarm clock set but no alarm. I have made net checking/searches, quite a few people put this up in the net but seems no definite solution. I have 'asked nokia' and the suggestion was " to reinsert the battery and sims card while no switch off the mobile, reboot the mobile in 1-2 minutes, if still not working, then reset the factory setting."
Done this, no luck. There is no solution in the menu nor else where!
Some how I remember i have 'seen' entry in the calender entries today by trial and error. Luck came it appeared. It looks like the entries only appear in "meeting' entry not 'to do list' entry.
OK friend, try to make new entry for today as meeting, and another entry on to do list on the same date and see see..
    cheers

  • How do I remove the double calendar entries after upgrading to ios5?

Upgraded to ios5 today on an iPhone 4.  I'm now getting double calendar entries.  It's not carrying over to my Mac though.  Any ideas how to rid my phone of them?  Thanks!

I was having the same problem and even started deleting some of the double entries. I went into the "calendars" tab on the top left of the screen inside the calendar app and found that the appointments from my Mac calendars were being displayed along with (scroll down) all the appointments from the iCloud calendars (which are a mirror or backup of the appointments from my Mac). I turned-off the iCloud calendars and the problem was fixed. I guess if I am coordinating appointments from several devices (iPhone and iPad or several family iPhones) I would just leave the iCloud calendars on and turn off my Mac calendars. Otherwise, I'm not sure what's happening here. Any other ideas?

  • How to change the color of a calendar entry

How do you change the color of a calendar entry?

    Hi Skaytn,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
Are you referring to the Calendar app on your computer, or do you have an iCloud account?  The articles below will explain how to change calendar names and colors.  Whatever calendar you place an entry in will determine what it's color will be.
Mac Basics: Calendar keeps your appointments
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5978
    Create new calendars
By default, OS X includes two calendars in the Calendar app – Work and Home. If  you want to create a new calendar, choose New Calendar from the File menu. Type a name for your calendar in the text field. For example, if you have kids, you might want to create a separate calendar for each one to track their schedules. You can see and control how your calendars appear by clicking the Calendars button.
To change the color or name of a calendar, select it from the calendars list, then choose Edit > Get Info. To remove a calendar and all of its events, right-click or Control-click the calendar's name,  then select Delete from the shortcut menu that appears.

  • Calendar Entries Reappear

I just got an iPhone 3G (OS 3.1.3), and did an initial sync with my Outlook calendar to get all the entries on my iPhone. I removed the auto-sync of the calendar afterwards, and deleted some of the calendar entries off of the iPhone only. The entries continue to reappear on my iPhone calendar, even without me syncing the iPhone to iTunes.
    Any ideas?

If this the case it could be syncing to lotus over Palm Desktop. This could be why it is not changing in the device. For Mac's they have a similar program called iSync which changes to sync with address book and iCal. If this is not the case another reason could be is that the program is changing something where it is not accepting changes from the device. I would check with EasySync (IBM product) for support.

  • Z10 calendar entries can't be deleted

On getting my Z10 I performed a device swop using Blackberry Link from from Blackberry 9860 running OS 7.1.
It was a virtual failure, only copying a few pieces of data, no contacts at all and only a few calendar entries, which were from 2011. On my Z10 I delete these old entries, some of which are recurring ones, only to find that when I restart my phone they all return. I have tried battery pulls and editing them so they no longer are recurring entries but nothing works. I start the phone in the morning and they all return.
    Can anyone help?

    Hey Joolone,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
    Thanks for the question.
Are these calendar entries synchronized with any email accounts?  Like Gmail, Yahoo or Hotmail?
If they are, I would suggest turning off Wireless synchronization and then remove the calendar entries and test.
Go to Setting>Accounts and delete the calendar account.
I look forward to your reply.
    Cheers.

  • Existing Calendar Entries not Syncing to iCloud

I have an iPhone 5 running iOS 7 that has five calendars.  I attempted to sync it to my iCloud account today and it only syncs one of my calendars ("Work").  The other calendars ("School", "Home" etc), show up in iCloud in the Calendars sidebar, but none of the entries do.  If I create a new event on my phone in any of the calendars, they show up and sync perfectly to the iCloud and to my new MBA (running Mavericks).  Likewise, events I create on my MBA and iCloud show up fine on my phone.  So, why are these existing entries, for all but one of my existing calendars, not syncing?  Any ideas?
I've tried toggling iCloud on and off on my MBA and my phone; signing in and out of iCloud; restarting both phone and MBA.... no luck.  My next step is the restore my iPhone, but I'd really rather not do that.  I hope someone can help!

I suggest you do the following:
Go to your old MacBook that contains these calendars, open iCal, click on each of your calendars on the left-hand side of iCal and export a backup to your desktop.  To do this, open iCal, click on the calendars one at a time, go to File>Export>Export and save to your desktop.  Then email each of these backup files to yourself.
Next, open the emails on your new MBA, double-click the attachments one at a time, and select the corresponding calendar on your MBA to import each calendar to.  This should import the calendar entries to your Mac and to iCloud.  When done, comfirm that the calendars on your Mac contain the events, and check icloud.com to confirm that they appear on your calendar there as well.  If they do, go to Settings>iCloud on your phone, turn Calendars to off, choose Delete from My iPhone at the prompted, then turn Calendars back on, and if prompted, choose Replace.  This will replace the calendars on your phone with the ones on icloud.com.
Oh, I have a good feeling about this!  I will try it out and report back in the morning.  Thank you so much!

  • Yahoo Calendars entries created on Yahoo do not sync on iphone after upgrad

After upgrading to IOS4, any previous or new calendar entries that have been created on the web in Yahoo calendars do not appear on the iphone. However, if you create a new yahoo calendar entry on the iphone then it appears without any problem in yahoo calendars (and also is removed if you delete from the iphone).
The calendar is turned on correctly in Mail, Contacts, Calendars for the Yahoo accounts I have and I have even deleted and re-created the accounts on the iphone to see if that makes a difference and it does not.
Prior to the upgrade to iOS4, the yahoo calendars all worked fine.
    Any ideas

To fix yahoo calendars then do the following:-
To reset, go to Settings, Mail, Contacts, Calendar. In this menu, go to "Calendars" options which is near the bottom. In the Sync categories change the setting from "*All Events*" to "*Events 6 Months Back*". Go to the calendar app and it should now Sync all of your Yahoo calendars. Go back to settings and change Sync settings back to "All Events" and they should all still appear.
Also, for each yahoo account, go into them and make sure that Calendars is set to on.
