Auto Resize of Web Analysis Screen

Is it possible to get web Analysis to resize its self based onthe screen resolution of the PC. Problem is screens designed in one size but useres havedifferent resolutions so graphs miss the bottom axis off and noscroll bar available to see missing axis ThanksShaun

I find this to be one of the biggest limitations of this product. The only thing close to a work around is to use panels and set the anchor to slack. This will allow some level of adjustment when the Window size changes.

Web Analysis link is loading up just Blue screen

When clicking from workspace link->web analysis . It's loading a blank blue screen and message is coming client loaded.

Can you get to Web Analysis directly :-

Try running Web Analysis in the foreground and not as a service to check for any noticable error messages.

just stumbled across a problem. Im building my website for screen
resolution 1020x768. However, alot of people tend to use 1280x1024
nowadays. The problem is that images get all screwed up at
different screen resolutions.
The best way to fix this would be auto resizing tables (so a
1280 using can view my 1024 website without any problems). But, i
have no idea how to create this. Ive been trying dreamweavers help,
but that didnt help me.
So i was wondering if anyone around here has the solution for
my problem.

Web Analysis in 9.3.x throws a blank grey screen

All,
When I launch Hyperion Web Analysis I am prompted about requiring an older version of Java. I see the splash screen and the popup starts that normally takes me to the Web Analysis client. However, at this point I get a blank grey screen with no buttons, splash, etc. We have tried starting and stopping the Web Analysis service, and also power cycled all 3 boxes (the other using Shared Services, etc) and made sure the services come back up in the correct order. Workspace seems to work fine, as does financial reporting, but the Web Analysis applet is completely blank. I have found a (very) few recommendations on the web, but none seem to help. I have a ticket in, and they told me to remove the Java installed, run it again, and let it install which also did nothing. I am out of ideas...please help.

Do you also have SSL enabled? That really sucks, at times. I believe- you must've got to see the famous- *"Client not inited"* error at the bottom-left hand corner(i.e. on Status bar) of the main browser window. Correct?

Error Launching Web Analysis Report from the Hyperion Workspace

Hi Everyone
When launching the report as a HTML from the Workspace, the output flashes briefly on screen
The view in the content pane disappears to leave a blank screen.
When I Select View | Refresh. The following result is returned "Web Analysis Information" -1
I have set the report in start up preferences. And Web Analysis preferences set to open as HTML
After logging on again the following error is shown " An attempt to open "Actual vs Budget" Failed
Show Details displays: this.getFocusRoot() is nullor not an object
The reports all display correctly when launched from the Web Analysis studio
Any ideas will be greatly appreciated

Thanks for the advise but I have looked into your possible solution and referred to the Web Analysis user guide. I have a number of reports and when selecting the Design for HTML option - a number of objects are valid and should be displayed in the workspace.
After creating reports from scratch - with valid objects - the problem still persists.
Unfortunately, I don't think this provides a solution to the problem.

Problem with Web Analysis

Hi,
With the help from some of the experts in this forum, I have finished installing and configuring the following 3 Hyperion 9.3.1 products (in this order) on our Windows 2003 development server.
V11229-01.zip (Hyperion Shared Services)
V11207-01.zip (Hyperion Reporting and Analysis - Services Release)
V11223-01.zip (Hyperion Reporting and Analysis - UI Services Release)
The backend is an Oracle 10g database.
I can successfully log into
(1) Shared Services @ http://localhost:58080/interop as admin/<default password>
(2) Web Analysis @ http://localhost:16000/WebAnalysis/WebAnalysis.jsp with the same userid/password (that I used to log into Shared Services)
(3) Workspace @ http://localhost:45000/workspace/index.jsp with the same userid/password (that I used to log into Shared Services)
This tells me I probably configured these componently correctly.
However, it seems that I cannot do something basic in Web Analysis Studio. For Example, if I try to do
File->New->Document Wizard, most of the menu options under "File" are grayed out.
To be precise, the following options under "File" are grayed out.
New, Open, Edit, Close, Close All, Save, SAve As, SAve as HTML, Properties, IMport, Export, Email As LInk, Print
so, I could not even do File->New.
In fact, the "Edit", "View" and "Display" menu items in the menu bar are grayed out as well.
As you can see, I can do very little in the Web Analysis Studio (I am logged in as admin user, which is the only user now).
Is this a permission issue? or did I fail to install some necessary components?
Also, in this forum, how do I post a screen capture (saved as an image)?

pls. try to give admin user more rights (Provision to "Report Designer" or "BIPlus Administrator" - I dont know exactly which roles are available concerning BI Plus suite).

Web Analysis Report Migration from 9.3.1. to 11.1.1.3

Hi All,
We are migrating from 9.3.1 to 11.1.1.3 we have couple of web analysis reports running on the old server 9.3.1 and now i have to migrate those reports on the new server 11.1.1.3. Reports in 9.3.1 are in windows servers and it should me migrated to 11.1.1.3 which is on a solaris server. please let me me know if you have any ideas regarding this issue.

I have checked migration utility inversion 9.x basically this migration utility is compatible for reports from version 7.x to 9.x and it is not supported for reports from 9.x to 11.x ....
So i have finally fallowed a procedure.
I have exported the reports from 9.x and imported in 11.x .
Then after exporting i have pointed database connections to new 11.x version server.
Now I was facing a issue when i open a reports in read only mode (i.e as a business user) iam getting a screen where it asks for database details ( I have assigned business user read access to essbase)
Basically this reports are pointing to my old essbase server i.e version 9.x server.
Please let me if iam missing something while exporting and importing reports.

Unable to open Web analysis

We recently installed Web Analysis 9.3.1 and have not been able to successfully open it. When we select the Web Analysis URL the initial Web analysis Studio appears with a "session in progress" message. Shortly thereafter a new window opens and it is a blank blue screen with a tiny icon in the upper left corner. We are unable to close this window - you have to go back to the first window and close it completely before the blank screen closes. Web Analysis is deployed in WebSphere 6.0.2 and we are using SSL.

one useful tool might be the Web Analysis config page: replace Hyperion.com with your BIP URL
(assuming your webserver is running on port 45000)
e.g. hyperion.com:45000/WebAnalysis/config
There are useful tests you can perform to see if the required services are available.

How to arrange page dropdowns in the Web Analysis report

I have created a Web Analysis document based on my Esssbase cube. This document contains just one grid with 7 dropdowns. All dropdowns are in one line above and they are narrowed so as they all fit into 1 line within the screen and I cannot see the full names of members within a dropdown. So I need advice on how I can arrange the dropdowns in my Web Analysis report so that I can see the full names of members when opening the dropdown? Thank you so much!

Yes, it works if one creates dropdowns via combo box controls attached to the same data source as the spreadsheet and applying these controls via the service button control (in this case you do not create page dropdowns in the data layout window of the spreadsheet and leave them in the data layout window's Filter pane). Otherwise it is impossible to edit the size and position of page dropdowns created in the Data Layout window of the spreadsheet.

Freeze Spreadsheet header in Web Analysis Report (HTML format)

Hello,
I want to know if there is any way to freeze the spreadsheet header in Web Analysis. I know it can be done if the report is opened through Web Analysis Studio. However, when the user opens it in HTML format, the header will not be freeze.

I don't believe you can do this. We ran into the same issue last summer and it left our long scrolling dashboards useless as you couldn't see what row you were looking at once the row headers had left the screen. We talked about having some dashboards launch from workspace and others from Web Analysis but this was messy and we wanted them to one-stop shop in Workspace.
The answer for us was to put a Check Box on the right hand side and the users only select the amount of members that fill up their screen. For instance, if we had 20 columns of data (accounts or scenarios) and only 5 were visible at one time, they would only select 5 to view at any given time.
As far as column headers, we haven't had any complaints when those leave the screen.
This was a huge issue for us but luckily we came up with a workaround that seems to have worked for all of our users thus far.

Web Analysis report is not coming with the border/logo/heading while print

Hi All,
I am using 9.3.1 version of hyperion planning were Web Analysis report is not coming with the border/logo/heading while printing with the option "print all object", Only the data grid is coming in the print. If I use "print screen" it is coming with border/logo/heading but it gives a screenshot of the report, that won't cater out need.
So please suggest us with a resolution to have border, logo and heading, while using Print all object.

In scripts when you will see print preview the logo will be not shown up with clarity.Take the print out of the document and check whether logo is printing up with clarity.

Auto resize webpage?

i have just finished my site which can be seen here www.jbpermanentcosmetics.co.uk The site looks fine on my Macbook pro on Mac and windows but it is way too large for 4:3 monitors. The site width is 1200 which in hindsight is too large really but i don't want to have to resize the whole website. Is there any HTML code which i can add which will auto resize the page to avoid horizontal scrolling?

rossn49, you can not use that javascript. It switches between two pages/sites (I bolded the code), which means you have to add another site with narrow width.... you indicated that you wouldn't like to do that.
However, you can find the sweet spot for your site design; many people started to design their sites for regular computer and also accommodate mobile devices such as iPhone.
You may like to do just that, iPhone's resolution is 960px wide, so I would conservatively take it down to 900px~920px wide.

Auto-resizing all components

Is there a method that auto resizes all components on a JFrame when it is maximised for example. I have got a JTable (in a scrollpane) and some other components on a panel. I have sized the frame to be approx 80% of the screen size. When the frame is maximised, the table and the other components retain their original size (understandably so!). Is there a method available that can resize the panel and its components to resize accordingly when the frame is maximised?...I know I can add the componentListener and implement a method in the componentResized() method...but I dont want to duplicate stuff that's already available. Thanx for your help.

BorderLayout: simple Layout; Components are oriented NORTH, EAST, SOUTH, WEST
FlowLayout: all components are added after the other
GridLayout: components are oriented in a grid
GridBagLayout: complex once

Calling a BSP application on a Web-Dynpro screen

Hi all,
We have a requirement as below:
In the SAP Standard Web-Dynpro screen we have a Tab-strip control, where there are 2 tabs.
We need to enhance the tab-strip control and add a new tab. On the same tab we need to call a BSP application.
It meas when we select the tab we should be able to see a specific BSP Application there.
How can this be made possible?
One way that I can think of is by creating the Service calls... However, I am not sure how can the service call can be created and used to call a BSP App to be displayed on the screen.

Now, with the further analysis from your inputs, following are the findings:
1. BSP is a Stateful BSP.
2. Yes, We are using this web-dynpro in the portal. How can we go about with the alternative way suggested by you about the iView? As i have very limited knowledge about the Portal hence a little more help from you will be helpful.
Is it like we can provide a button on the screen and then when a user clicks the button the result is a new window of the browser with the given portal link?

[iphone] How to resize a web view in iphone SDK?

for my iphone app, I need my webview to expand to the bounds when I change to landscape mode. How do I get it to auto-resize?

It appears that the problem is the UIView that contains the UIWebView is not being properly resizes, the UIWebView is resizing to match the UIView, but the UIView is not resizing to match the available space.
I'm loading this view from a nib file and my controller is not in the Interface Builder FYI.
here is my current viewDidLoad method. I have tried various combinations ofr autoresizingMask as you can see below (commented out), but they didn't get the view to resize to match its container (not sure what contains the view).
