Auto rotate not working on iPad V5

Ever since I upgraded to OS version 5, auto rotation is not working.  I have a display of a lock and arrow going around it in the upper right hand side of my screen.  How do I turn auto rotate on?

Double click your home button to open your multi-task then slide your finger to the right, tap the lock icon.

    Hi shyndm01
I just fixed the problem on my device. You need to run windows update, there are about 3 updates for Windows 10. Once install just restart and auto rotation will work again.
    Hope this work for you!

  • Yoga 2 Pro tent mode and auto-rotate not working

I have had a Yoga 2 Pro since June. Recently the Tent mode and auto-rotate features do not work.
When I put the Yoga 2 Pro into Tent mode the keyboard and touch pad are still active underneth. However, they shutoff when in tablet mode. Lenovo Transition starts automatically and is running.
Auto-rotate does not work at all now. The screen is un-locked.

    Dear NX3
    Welcome to Lenovo forums
Please try to uninstal the Lenovo transition program and download the version in the below link and instal it

  • Automatic Rotation Not Working On iPad 4th Gen iOS 8.1.2

So I recently got an iPad 4 and the automatic rotation is not working at all. I have done every troubleshooting possible including a restore of 8.1.1 and then upgrading to 8.1.2 hoping it would fix the problem and still nothing. Obviously rotation lock is off and I have tried toggling it back and forth through control panel and side switch along with doing multiple hard resets and it just won't automatically rotate at all.
I know my sensor isn't broken because if I change position with the device off and turn it back on it will display the correct orientation, but only if I turn the screen off. Games and other apps that use the gyroscope/accelerometer work fine, yet somehow my automatic rotation function is just broken.
Is anyone else experiencing this same issue? Since I know my sensor isn't broken I just don't understand why this is happening since it doesn't seem like a common problem after trying to find information on the topic.

    Try reset iPad.
Hold the Sleep/Wake and Home button down until you see the Apple Logo.

  • Auto Rotation not working correctly Radius p55w B5112

It has not worked correctly since I bought it. I have recovered from image fresh again, and then went through and hit windows update and updated 134 updates. Auto rotate does not work in tablet or in presentation mode. The keyboard never shuts off and I can type in tablet mode. If I have this on my lap, the buttons are pressed. I have a lock on my screen rotation, it is greyed out and I cannot access it. Any other suggestions to fix this?? Everthing else works great!

  • Screen locking up and auto rotation not working on phone wakeup

Since updating to iOS8 my iPhone 5 and 5s will lock up when waking the phone.  I also have noticed that the screen rotation does not work riight away and is sluggish.  Certain apps tend to freeze which could be that they need an update themselves.  It is a shame that Apple has resorted to using its customers as beta testers for their software.  As a die hard Apple fan it is getting harder to stay true to the company.  Apple should be leading not playing catch up which is why I think theses major software issues develop.

  • X61t upgrade and auto-rotate not working

I just bought an x61t off trademe for $50. I've always coveted one because my old x60s was the best thinkpad I've ever owned. This one is solid and underused. I intend to upgrade to win 8 later, and add some more ram and  swap in a SSD. Just use for text input and browsing.
My problems are finding a user manual/guide, finding any thinkvantage legacy upgrade and, the biggest problem is auto rotate and tablet interface buttons don't seem to be working.
Looking on Lenovo sites hasn't been helpful in finding any of this information or solutions. It may be obsolete and unavailable.
can I download button drivers from anywhere? Any other solutions you can help with are appreciated.

    Hi syrahnose,
Here's your Hardware Maintenance Manual and here's a Service and Troubleshooting Guide .
You could also run TVSU and see if it comes up with anything for your tablet.
There are quite a lot of guides and manuals here .
    Regards,
    Dave
Edit:  Windows 8 should run fine on your machine. I'm running Windows 8 on a non-tablet x61 and it runs fine.

  • Auto-Rotate not working correctly after 8.1.1 update

Updated my iPhone 5s to 8.1.1 last night.  Auto-Rotate will rotate to the side but will not rotate back now.
Surely this is not by design??

It may be an app that is doing it. If its fine after a reset and then does it at some point, keep track of what apps you are running. There was an app that would always lock my ipad2. I don't recall now which one. Somewhere along the line it must have got patched.
The only problem I'm having with the air is that the split keyboard comes up very crudely compared to ios7. A full gray rectangle is drawn and then the center disappears. It looks very ameturish.
I am having some Safari issues on my phone. Not sure if it's an iOS8 thing yet or not.

  • Windows 10 Screen Auto Rotation Not Working/Option is not visible or available

I just upgraded to Windows 10 through the microsoft app. Everyhthing works fine except the screen rotation doesn't work at all. The option to able or disable this feature is dimmed meaning that you can't interact with it. Please help if you know the solution.

Same here on Envy x2 13-j001ng, rotation does not work. I have verified that orientation sensor itself works (via Sensor Diagnostic Tool 0.7.2) and sensors services are running, but rotation does not work. Additionally, accelerometer controls in Asphalt 8: Airborne don't work either, so I suspect an issue lies within WIndows.

  • Auto subtitles not working on iPad

I recently purchased Guardians of the Galaxy through iTunes and am trying to watch it on my iPad. However, I need subtitles to properly enjoy it, but can't get them to work in English. The only option is "Auto (recommended)", but no closed captions appear when this is selected. I can get all of the other languages to work when I select the speech bubble, but not English! Anyone else having this trouble?

Settings>Safari>Autofill>On>Names and Passwords On. Do you have that set up correctly? If you do, try turning it off, and then tap clear all as well and start over again.
Clear Safari as well and restart the iPad.
Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History, Cookies and Data. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Then go back to Settings>Safari>Autofill>On>Names and Passwords>On and make sure that Use Contact Info is turned on as well.

  • Since my last software update the auto rotation on both my ipad air and my iphone 5c won't work. I have tried everything, including; checking the auto-lock - it isn't on lock. I've checked the settings in the Control Centre and they're as they should be.

Since my last update the auto rotation on both my ipad & my iphone has stopped working. I've done all the usual stuff to correct it but no joy. I've reset, rebooted, turned off then back on, checked all settings including those for the side switch and everything is as it should be except the rotation still doesn't work. There are no open apps, movies or videos that could be locking the screen so I am now totally stumped.
    Any suggestions please?

The fact that gs.apple.com was in your host file to begin with is an indicator that your computer was used to jailbreak or hack an iOS device at some point in the past. You can not get help here for a hacked or jailbroken device. If your phone was hacked or jailbroken, Apple won't touch it.
RecBoot and Tinyumbrella are hacking tools.
    Google "iPhone DFU mode".
Try restoring in DFU mode. If that doesn't fix it, make an appointment at the genius bar and see what Apple has to say about it.

  • After ios 7 update on ipad mini, auto rotation stop working. Anyone facing this issue too?

After ios 7 update on ipad mini, auto rotation stop working. Anyone facing this issue too?

    for ipad,
    if you go to settings-General
You can select between using the side switch to lock rotation or mute.  If you select one mute, then the lock rotation icon will show up in the control center.  If you select lock rotation, then the mute will show up.  THe side switch is then used for the other option.

  • Auto brightness not working in ios6

I updated my iPad (3rd gen) to ios6, but when the update is complete i found that the auto brightness not working, when i use the ipad on dark room the brightness not changing, when i use ios5.1 it changing.. Any solution and actually the problem is on ios or in the hardware? Looking for help asap...

Well my device is different and since it is a iPhone 5, it is not being updated to iOS 6 but the issue is exactly the same. From my mind this could be up to software but also could be from an hardware issue. The thing is that even if it worked before iOS 6 for you the new software could have revealed hardware conflicts since the software interacts different with the hardware for some features. This would be the worst case scenario because I know that normally iPhone 4 devices if not the 8GB model will be out of warranty. For me this is just a small issue since my warranty is still one year :(
I have contacted apple care for this issue and have get the info that it will be escalated to the engineering team, for further investigation. As I know there was also an issue with some proximity sensors at the beginning if the iPhone 4 models and I think there was an software fix for a lot of them. Hope for the best!!!
I have also done a lot of Troubleshooting, reseted settings, content and settings, restored in dfu and recovery mode, restored with new .ipsw (iPhone OS), restored on different pc (so even this step gas downloaded a totally new .ipsw file), first on a Mac!
Next step wis that I will let the battery drain low entirely, a Troubleshooting idea of an friend. This might empower the entire hardware for a restart. I am not really believing in this step but I will give it a try :)

  • Auto dial not working

    Auto dial not working
I'm using an iPad 4, with WiFi and Cellular and iOS 8.1.3
In the past if I was searching for a hotel and found one I only had to tap on the phone number and it would dial using either Skype or MagicJack. It worked using Wi-Fi or my data plan. It was an absolutely valuable function especially when traveling.
Now, when I click on a phone number, it says that it's going to exit the program (like Safari) and start a new program. When I click, Ok, nothing happens.
I must have inadvertently changed some setting.
Skype works, MagicJack works, but I must dial the number manually.
I have tried turning "Handoff" off and on then rebooting, turning FaceTime off and on and rebooting (and every combination of those two programs and actions).
To say the least, I am frustrated because it must be something obvious. (to everyone else!)
Any ideas as to how to how I can get it to dial automatically again?
    Thanks for any assistance.

IPAD user guide for IOS 8 is available on line at apple -
you can download it in IBOOK or PDF format to refer to when you can't get connected to see it on-line

Handoff is only for using with multiple devices - Iphone/Ipad/ipod
This is the bit in Handoff on Phone calls
    Phone calls
If your iPhone (with iOS 8) is nearby, you can make and receive phone calls on your other iOS devices and Mac computers. All devices must be on the same Wi-Fi network, and signed into FaceTime and iCloud using the same Apple ID.
Make a phone call on iPad. Tap a phone number in Contacts, Calendar, or Safari. You can also tap a recent contact in the multitasking screen.
Disable iPhone Cellular Calls. On your iPhone, go to Settings > FaceTime, then turn off iPhone Cellular Calls.
You may have to use Face Time to make calls from the IPAD -- there are page or 2 on that --
