Auto shutdown feature

hi all i'm a newbie here...
i wanna ask you which bios menu will enable us to disable the auto shutdown? i keep failing occt though the temps were only 65C! my motherboard is MSI 890FXAGD70

That was a thermal shutdown then.  This is a safety mechanism to prevent CPU damage due to overheating. Trust me, you do not want to turn that off...
Better work on your cooling solution.
you know what? i believed it too because its an alarm to warn us right? but say, what is the menu for doing that? just curious

  • Implementing Auto Shutdown feature in J2ME midlet

    I am trying to figure out all possibilities to implement an auto shutdown feature in an application which uses only high level UI components (Lists and Forms), if the application remains idle for a specified time say 60 seconds.
    Any suggestions how one could achieve this.
    Thanks.

    No, its not necessary that everytime user does something and some code is executed, for instance if the user is navigating UP or Down a List and is only pressing UP/DOWN navigation keys in such a case no code is executed. What to do in such a case??
    Thanks.

  • No auto shutdown feature good enough for listening to ebook?(like ipodnano)

    Hello:
    I would like to know if I can use my new Ipod Touch like I would with the ipod nano for listening to ebooks, which is:
    -I start off the ebook mp3
    -The ipod goes to sleep after 15/20 min
    -If im not already aslep, i switch it on so it keeps on playing another 15/20 min
    -keep on till im asleep
    I could do that with my old ipod nano, cant i do this with my brand new ipod touch??

    Request sent...
    Thankyou all for the support.
    In case someone uses it to do the same as me, I found the fastest better way to do what I want,which is:
    - First I put the audiobook which I want to listen
    - Then i go to clock and set the alarm
    - Then when it turns off, I just have to:
    *Double click home and hit play button
    *Unlock and hit "Start" for the countdown, which will be already on screen
    Is there any fast way for a user to program some kind of simple shortcut for that? maybe even with an Ipod move?
    Thx again!

  • Auto-Shutdown when ATV3 Sleeps?

    Hey Guys,
    Hopefully I've got the right place.
    I'm wanting to know if there is a way I can set my computer to auto-shutdown when the apple TV3 is put to sleep?
    Running Windows XP
    I can set a task to schedule a shut-down at a specific time, but this wont always be the best option as partner can stay up lat and watch it.
    Guess I'm just wondering if there's some advanced script or anything that will pick-up on itunes when its in sleep mode, and then set computer for shutdown?
    And maybe just another thing to note, the drop down box below for product doesn't even have ATV3 listed haha
    Tks
    Steve

    >I'm talking about a setting on my computer to shut itelsef down
    All computers can already be set to do that.
    >Setting the computer to shutdown on idle is an on-going argument I guess as well
    Argument about what?  This is a standard feature on any computer and has been for over a decade.  If you would like to take adavanage of it then set it to do that.
    >Is streaming considered the computer being in idle mode?
    No, the computer is actively running to server content and is receiving constant WAKE_ON_LAN requests.
    >Becuase it's just sitting there not doing anything
    Not true.  It is serving the content which is a VERY active process.

  • 5310 Auto shutdown / start

    Does 5310 have Auto shutdown or start

    Well, apart from the occassional hang-ups and the restarts that follow, 5310 does not have such a feature I don't think any Nokia phone has it.

    This is really unfortunate. I'm sorry that nothing works. I was going to mention holding down the power button and doing a force shutdown but you already did that. You might need to take it into the Apple store. I don't know if booting into safe mode would help. You would have to turn off the machine again, hit the start button and hold down the shift key after you hear the tone, but normally you would let go of the shift key when you see the apple logo and spining wheel. Maybe by holding down the shift key after you here the tone will cause the screen to come back on? The other option is to start up from the 'install disk' if your machine came with one. You would insert the disk, then shut down the computer, and hold down the C key right after hitting the start button.

    I've been using numbers for iPad and I accidentally deleted a column. And the auto-save feature saved that and now I can't undo it. Does iCloud storage have backups of saved files from like 10 minutes ago? I have numbers synced to iCloud.
    I tried to undo it but the app crashed.
    I am hoping there's like a previously saved version of my file in iCloud somewhere.

    No, iOS does not do short term incremental back ups to iCloud such as you get with Time Capsule.It backs up when you do soo manually, or if set properly, when the device is plugged in and connected to WiFi. It will not have saved your changes as of 10 minutes prior.

  • Mythtv, auto shutdown no longer working, scheduler.cpp ?

    Following a recent update the automatic shutdown of my backend is no longer working (well, at least not reliably).
    I have 3 scripts set up in the relevant sections of the mythtv-setup to check if myth is ok to shut down, set the new wakeup time and perform the actual shutdown. These scripts still work alright, but the backend is not initiating the shutdown any more in some cases.
    Lots of trial and error makes me think that this is somehow related to scheduler.cpp, but I am not sure if this is the case or how to fix it.
    I think I have established a pattern:
    Scenario 1:
    - Boot backend
    - do nothing else (e.g. start remote frontend or mythfrontend on the backend)
    - automatic shutdown does not work
    Scenario 2:
    - Boot backend
    - start remote frontend
    - shut down frontend
    - automatic shutdown does not work
    - restart backend service (without reboot)
    - automatic shutdown works
    I also notice that in scenario 2 (when automatic shutdown works) there are a whole heap of these kind of messages right until shutdown occurs:
    2013-04-29 19:18:07.592125 N [660/738] Expire autoexpire.cpp:641 (SendDeleteMessages) - Expiring 156 MB for 1073 at 2013-04-13T11:50:20Z => Hulk

    2013-04-29 19:18:07.889638 E [660/660] CoreContext mainserver.cpp:2610 (DoHandleDeleteRecording) - ERROR when trying to delete file: myth://192.168.1.103:65103:6543/1022_20120206192600.mpg. File doesn't exist. Database metadata will not be removed.
    In scenario 2 (successful) I see the following in the log just before the above auto expire stuff:
    Scheduler scheduler.cpp:2307 (HandleRunSchedulerStartup) - Scheduler: Seem to be woken up by USER
    then a whole heap of auto expiry stuff and finally:
    Scheduler scheduler.cpp:2862 (CheckShutdownServer) - CheckShutdownServer returned - OK to shutdown
    2013-04-29 19:19:55.276775 N [660/735] Scheduler scheduler.cpp:2947 (ShutdownServer) - Running the command to set the next scheduled wakeup time :-
    sudo /home/laffi/scripts/MythSetWakeup 1367229120
    2013-04-29 19:19:55.372582 N [660/735] Scheduler scheduler.cpp:2974 (ShutdownServer) - Running the command to shutdown this computer :-
    sudo /home/laffi/scripts/MythShutdown
    In scenario 1 (unsuccessfull shutdown) I also get
    Scheduler scheduler.cpp:2307 (HandleRunSchedulerStartup) - Scheduler: Seem to be woken up by USER
    and then autoexpiry, but then, once a frontend connects:
    ProcessRequest mainserver.cpp:1385 (HandleAnnounce) - adding: frontend as a client (events: 0)
    I don't get autoexpiry of files and no shutdown, both of which I believe are initiated by scheduler.cpp
    I also noticed the following in the logs when auto shutdown does not work:
    2013-04-29 15:40:36.046359 I [648/848] ProcessRequest mainserver.cpp:1385 (HandleAnnounce) - adding: mythbackend as a client (events: 1)
    which does not seem to appear in the logs when auto shutdown works.
    Any ideas ? I have found very little (next to none) regarding scheduler.cpp when searching.

    The other side of the VPN is a TMG server hosted at our main office.  I can connect to it off site, and others were connected to it remotely as well, but for some reason users at that remote site can no longer connect to the VPN.
    I talked to my ISP wondering if there was something that was blocked due to the change from dhcp to static IP addresses, but they don't see anything.

  • My auto translate feature is not working on firefox v5. When I highlight a few words and right click, the option is'nt there to translate. Why?

    Ok so my auto translate feature does not seem to be working. When trying to translate text on twitter or any page I highlight the text, right click and the option to auto translate has gone. I am running firefox v5 on vista. Can anyone help me out.
    thanks

    Sorry that my guess about what you are using was wrong. How about telling us exactly what you installed to provide that '''auto translate''' feature in Firefox?
    If you don't know, give us a list of the extensions that you ''do'' have installed so that we don't have to wildly guess or so we can do an '''''educated guess''''' as to which one isn't working.
    Help > Troubleshooting Information = use the '''Copy all to clipboard''' button, then paste into a text editor program. Then delete all but the list of '''Extensions''' and copy'n'paste that to the Reply box here.

  • We are trying to package our iTunes Windows and we can't stop the auto update feature.  How can we do this?

    We have consultants here packaging many of our Apps for deployment with Windows 7.  We cannot find a way to turn off the auto update feature within iTunes for Windows.  Has someone been successful in packaging iTunes for Windows and NOT do the auto update piece?

    The Apple advice revolves around the editing the registry:
    Windows OS Managed Client: How to manage iTunes control features
    ... but it's beyond my competence to advise how to work that particular registry edit into a deployment, I'm afraid.

  • Is there a way to delay/remove the screen's "auto shutdown" ?

    I'm using my Ipod to learn a instrument, so I have to play the songs over and over again, but it always ends up "locked" (less bright thens turn to black) and I have to unlock it to have access the the songs control.  (Stop, rewind, play, etc...)

    I don't think you can do that with the Nano. They made it so that the screen sleeps when not in use to save life of the very small battery. I have a better solution for you if you're interested.
    I'm a musican also, and I found a program for around $40 that will let you loop sections of a song. You can listen to the chorus or the verse or even the last two beats of measure 23 over and over and not have to keep hitting rewind. You can also change the tempo without changing the key (great for slowing down something to catch the notes better), or change the key without changing the tempo.
    It's called Transcribe! (the ! is part of the name), and it's sold by Seventh String Software (here's a link). It's best if you can have your computer close, so if you play piano, a laptop works best, but a desktop will work well if you play guitar or sax.
    If you can't swing the $40, iTunes will let you loop a portion of the song if you turn on the auto repeat feature and change the start and stop time in the info pane. You have to use trial and error to get just the right bit to repeat, but it's do-able.

  • Auto-Suggest feature in Combo-box LOV is not displaying non-unique values

    Hi,
    I have an auto-suggest feature implementation on a combo-box lov that displays the name and email-id of a list of people. There are non-unique names in the back-end, for example :
    Abraham Mason [email protected]
    Abraham Mason [email protected]
    But when I use the auto-suggest feature and type in, say 'Ab', instead of showing both the Abraham Masons the auto-suggest displays only one of the values.
    As in the example above the email-ids of the two Abraham Masons are different and unique.
    If I use the conventional drop down menu of the combo-box then both the values are visible.
    Is the auto-suggest feature implemented in a manner so as to display only unique values?
    This is the implementation of the auto-suggest feature that I have done -
    <af:column headerText="#{bindings.RqmtAtLevel1.hints.Owner.label}"
    id="c23" sortable="true" filterable="true"
    sortProperty="Owner"
    filterFeatures="caseInsensitive">
    <af:inputComboboxListOfValues id="ownerId"
    popupTitle="#{ResourcesGenBundle['Header.SearchandSelect.Searchandselectanobjectusingad']}: #{bindings.RqmtAtLevel1.hints.Owner.label}"
    value="#{row.bindings.Owner.inputValue}"
    model="#{row.bindings.Owner.listOfValuesModel}"
    required="#{bindings.RqmtAtLevel1.hints.Owner.mandatory}"
    columns="#{bindings.RqmtAtLevel1.hints.Owner.displayWidth}"
    shortDesc="#{bindings.RqmtAtLevel1.hints.Owner.tooltip}"
    autoSubmit="true">
    <f:validator binding="#{row.bindings.Owner.validator}"/>
    <af:autoSuggestBehavior suggestedItems="#{row.bindings.Owner.suggestedItems}"/>
    </af:inputComboboxListOfValues>
    </af:column>
    Thanks,
    Anirudh Acharya

    Hi,
    don't find a bug entry about this, so if this indeed is a defect then this has not been filed. Do you have a test case ? If you have please zip it up and send it in a mail to me. My mail address is in my OTN profile (just click on my name until you get to the profile). Pleas rename the "zip" extension to "unzip" and mention the JDeveloper release you work with. The test case should work against the Oracle HR schema.
    If you need to track the issue, I suggest to file a service request with customer support yourself

  • One application "failed to quit" on auto shutdown

    This has been happening daily now for perhaps a month, and it's got me stumped. I can't identify any pattern or anything.
    I have my system scheduled to shutdown overnight and start up in the morning, and have had this same setting for years. What's happening lately is that the unattended shutdown apparently times out and I get a message saying logout failed "because the application [X] failed to quit." Now the really weird bits -
    'X' is almost literally a different application every day, and it's rarely if ever attributable to an unsaved document. I think it's happened at least once with every single one of the applications I regularly have running. Sometimes it's an application I've used in the course of the day, and other times it's one I haven't touched. But it happens every day.
    if I manually select the shutdown menu command at any time, including after finding that the auto shutdown has again failed, the shutdown runs smoothly with no application failing to quit.
    I've run 'repair disk' in Disk Utility and also Disk Warrior and applejack several times each, as well as a weekly scheduled batch of maintenance tasks (using Cocktail). None of these operations has changed the behaviour come shutdown time.
    Has anyone else seen this?  Solutions anyone?  Thanks.

    I'm 'bumping' this one.
    Still happening very consistently, and becoming a real problem. Since originally posting I've run all the disk operations many times over, as well as one or two system updates at least. Nothing has changed, it just happens like this every night.
    The only thing I can offer as a (sort of) pattern is that the application that's most often the one reported as preventing logout is HistoryHound. And it would appear to be one of the first ones the system tries to quit in its shutdown, since most of the apps are still running. However it does still vary - it happens on a different app sometimes, and it happens on some app when HH wasn't even running. So not sure that's much of a clue - unless perhaps certain apps are taking longer to quit than the system expects (or something??? - scratching for clues here ...... )
    Can anyone help? Please ....
