Auto single finger double tap

Hi, i am a disabled useR, I have apps that want me to single finger double tap, i cannot do this, is there a way i can  use assistive touch I or something else to double tap for me?

Yes you can. Go to Settings/General/Accessibility and tap on AssistiveTouch. Turn it on (if it's not already on).
On that same screen, tap on "Create New Gesture". On the screen that shows up, record your new gesture (double-tap anywhere on the grey screen). Next tap the Stop button, then tap on the Save button. Give your gesture a name (like DT for double-tap). Tap on the Save button after naming your gesture. If you somehow mess up with recording the gesture or don't like the name or simply want to clear it, you can delete it by swiping it to the left on the AssitiveTouch setup screen where Custom Gestures is displayed. From then on, the gesture will be available in the AssistiveTouch menu under Favorites. You drag the Favorite gesture to the button you want to double-tab and the recorded action will be performed on the desired button.

  • Magic Mouse - three finger double tap dictionary - not working

    A three finger, double tap on my Magic Mouse will not activate a dictionary definition in any app. All other mouse gestures work fine. The keyboard combination for that feature works fine too. How can I get that three finger gesture to work?

    No workaround so far with this problem and also no posts in the Opera forums. Just have to wait until Opera includes this functionality in their next release.
    In the meantime you can help by joining the forum (takes a minute) and posting your concern. The more people that join and voice their complaint the faster something will get coded into their browser.

  • Flex 2 14 - Two finger tap for Right-Click not working (Two finger double tap works)

    I bought my Flex 2 14 a couple of weeks back.
    I want to enable Two-finger tap (not click) for right click.. Unfortunately it does not work.
    Weirdly, Two-finger DOUBLE tap works for right click..
    How do I get a two-finger tap?
    I tried the regitry hacks from here (https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Yoga-Flex-Laptops-and/Yoga-2-Pro-Two-finger-tap-does-not-work/td-p/1406... but no luck yet.
    Any help please.

    I have found a solution but I am still annoyed I had to do my own tech work to get a common touch figure enabled. (By the way there's many threads out there on Synpatics drivers and touchpads not working right for many people on different machines.)
    Anyway, indeed the fastest fix is to modify a registry entry for Synaptics. Just open  the regisitry edit software on the Yoga and then go through the folders: HKEY LOCAL / Software / Synaptics / SynTP / Win8
    In "2FingerTapAction" all you need is to change the value from "0" to "2" - and presto two-finger tap is now a right click!
    Much easier than going through a driver install / uninstall routine or any other of the suggestions I've found out there.
    I wish Lenovo had this set up as a default. It's really a great gesture and it's quiet and fast.

    Greetings ascnephew8,
    It seems your trackpad isn't working as you expect it to. Have you reviewed the trackpad settings in System Preferences? The following article provides trackpad setting details which may help:

  • Windows 10 upgrade stopped touchpad single and double tapping

    I recently upgraded to the Windows 10 from Windows 7. Now the touchpad single/double tapping not working.  I have an HP laptop.  If there is no solution to this problem then I will just revert back to Windows 7. Thanks,

    I have same problem-I spent about half an hour with microsoft   assistant on phone who eventually after several failed attempts to rectify problem,appeared to give up and advised that touchpad was incompatible  with windows 10 and finally advised that I needed a driver update from HP the manufacturer of my notebook. However I have tried HP support assistant online and my driver is up to date and after several attemps by HP assistant to solve problem I am no further forward and very disappointed-afterall the touchpad is a pretty basic tool of computers/pc -well for those that do not have touch screens Hope you have better luck than I have had today.

  • Three finger double tap not working

    Since updating to iOS 5 on my iPhone 3GS, the Zoom feature has stopped working.  (Actually, when I double tap with three fingers, the screen enlarges a few pixels.)  Any ideas on how to get this feature back?  So far, I've turned it on and off, rebooted the iPhone.

    Double tap with three fingers and KEEP your fingers on the screen after the second tap and then drag up or down.

  • Can't use three-finger double tap zoom.

    iPad 2 version 6.3.1.
    Couple of days ago, I tried to use the three-fingered, double-tap zoom, but it didn't work. Now, being a middle-aged person, I like to use this feature. So, tried again. Didn't work. Double tapped all over the screen. Nada. Went to Settings > General > Accessibility > Zoom. Zoom was on. Turned it off. Turned it on. Didn't work. Turned it off; turned it on again. Nope. Turned off the iPad. Turned on the iPad. Nuh-uh. Turned on, turned off the iPad again. Nah. Tried triple tapping the Home button to turn Zoom off and on again. Zilch. (Ordinary double-tap enlarge works, and so does Pinch to Zoom.)
    I'm almost ready to reset the iPad, but that is such a drastic step, I thought I'd try here first. Any thoughts?
    -- yah

    So if you double tap with three fingers and drag up the amount of zoom will increase. If you double tabp with threed fingers and drag down the amount of zoom will decrease. It is possible to have so little zoom that it looks like none.
    Is that possibly what you are experiencing?

  • Three finger double tap doesn't work in "Preview"!

    It is unbelievable that "three fingers double taps" gesture doesn't work in Preview.
    looking definition in dictionay is useful when reading PDF in preview, but  I cann't get the pop up dictionay window by three fingers double tap a word.
    I don't understand why apple miss such a useful feature in preview...

    what exactly is your question?  This is not Apple's complaint department.

  • Cannot use double tap and move with one finger to select text in Mountain Lion

    I've been using OS X in my Macbook Pro since Snow Leopard, and if I choose "tap with one finger to click", I can use double tap and move with one finger to select text if the cursor is between text.
    It works in Snow Leopard,and Lion However, in Mountain Lion, this doesn't work!! I have to click in the bottom right corner of my trackpad  in order to select the text.
    Can anyone get this fixed ?
    Thanks.

    Caolei,
    I don't know if you'll ever see this, but thank you! I hope this helps somebody else down the line, too.
    re. "I can use double tap and move with one finger to select text if the cursor is between text."
    I've been trying to figure out how to select text with tapping and without clicking.
    This did the trick.
    It's quite finicky to not select a space in between words.
    Zooming in does seem to help (two finger double tapping in a body of text may trigger a SmartZoom and zoom the current frame of text to fill the screen, if anybody doesn't know this.)
    ((There's a smartMagnifyWithEvent Cocoa NSEvent that's not universally supported across all applications for noob OS X developers like me.))
    I haven't been able to find the part about double tapping between text to begin a selection (which seems to work best when double tapping directly next to a letter) anywhere in the help system on or online. I probably just missed it, though.
    Clicking with the built-in trackpad on my MacBook Pro w/ Retina or Magic Mouse just takes too much pressure for an old-time touch typist like me.
    As an aside, I've been trying BetterTouchTool and MagicPrefs to enable one finger tap on the Magic Mouse. BetterTouchTool seems to trigger text selection unwantedly and randomly, though.
    The whole mystique of Mac / Apple being intuitive and user-friendly seems to be one of the greatest marketing coups / unbelievable con jobs of the last century.
    I'm actually somewhat qualified to express an opinion as a software engineer with a degree in Computer Science and programming and user interface design experience in Windows, UNIX, web, Android and other systems, and now OS X and iOS. I could go on and on and on but I won't other to say that I still find Macs buggy and hard to use. I'm now finding that my new iPhone 5 is just as big of a pain (i.e. big thumbs missing landscape keyboard in Contacts.) Of course, I like flexibility and options and custom workflows and more than one way to do things and simply being able to do things at all, so I'm also actually somewhat biased. Sorry for the rant...
    Cheers,
    Hal

  • UIScrollView get lock after double tap

    Hi ,
    I am having some issue with UIScrollView or its derived class .
    in my application I have a UITableView were the UITableCell contains UIImageView
    this image implement the message for touchBegin:: so they can do stuff . so far so good I am happy
    the problem is that a lot of trim when the touchBegin event is finish my Table ( UIScrollView ) is not responding to scroll anymore , sometime with some random click I can unLock it but not always .
    in an other view I use the UIScrollView directly and there the same , single or double tap just lock the view for no clear reason .
    am I missing something , I found some other post about similar problem , but this is really really anoying , so I am surprise that I can see more chatter .
    I can reproduce the same with one of the sample provided .
    anyone with a tip ? a work around the problem would do just fine
    thanks
    damien

    I have had similar issues while trying to get a ScrollView with buttons working. The ScrollView did not react to swipe gestures that start on a button. A UIControl gets the events a ScrollView needs for scrolling. A UIResponder object with userInteractionEnabled set to YES might be treated the same way.
    To get scrolling working I had to do the folowing:
    - Subclass the UIScrollView and implement hitTest (with pointInside) to always return self as the first responder.
    - In the same subclass implement touchesShouldCancelInContentView to always return YES.
    - Set the canCancelContentTouches propery to YES to make the ScrollView actually test if touches Should Cancel In ContentView.
    I have no touchesBegan, touchesMoved or any other event handling code in the ScrollView subclass. The ScrollView itself takes care of that.
    The documentation on canCancelContentTouches is an 'if ... and ... if ... then ... and ... else if ... then ..' construction. I needed the comments in the ScrollView headerfile to get a better impression about what is going on between ScrollViews and the UIResponders within.
    I hope this will help you out.

  • 'double-tap-jump-back' in Mavericks

    Hi all,
    In previous versions of OS X, with 'double-tap-jump-back', you could jump between desktops and full screen applications with a four-finger double-tap, after you had enabled it by running in shell:
    defaults write com.apple.dock double-tap-jump-back -bool TRUE; killall Dock
    I've tried this in Mavericks and I don't seem to be getting this to work. Can anyone confirm that this is the case? It's a shame if this feature is gone, it was a big part of my workflow.
    Thanks!

    I confirm.
    defaults read com.apple.dock, reads:
    autohide = 1;
         "checked-for-launchpad" = 1;
         "dashboard-in-onverlay" = 1;
         "double-tap-jump-back" = 1;

  • Tap & Double Tap.

    Hi,
    I know that a lot of threads are opend for this problem but yet, I haven't found a solution for this problem.
    - (void)touchesEnded:(NSSet *)touches withEvent:(UIEvent *)event {
    // We only support single touches, so anyObject retrieves just that touch from touches
    UITouch *touch = [[event allTouches] anyObject];
    if ([touch tapCount] == 2) {
    //Do A
    // In case of a double tap outside the placard view, update the placard's display string
    else if ([touch tapCount] == 1) {
    //DO B
    The problem is, if i double tap, the B function is executed also.
    I found this thread:
    http://www.iphonedevsdk.com/forum/iphone-sdk-development/2108-single-touch-event -always-get-fired-double-touch.html
    and he said there that this is the behavior... what does he means ?
    95% of all the posts use the 'tapCount'.
    I've even try to use:
    UIControlEventTouchDownRepeat & UIControlEventTouchUpInside, with IBActions, and always the UIControlEventTouchUpInside call first...
    How do i handle ONLY double tap ?
    Thanks.

    If you ONLY want double tap events then ignore single taps.
    If you want both to work single and double taps to work you'll have to wait a given amount of time and see if the user has tapped again.
    The Programming guide has a starting point code snippet for this.

  • Can't Drag and Drop with a Double Tap using Single Finger in Lion?

    I installed the Mac OS X Lion two days. But I can't drag and drop with a Double tap using Single Finger, which I used to do in Snow Leopard.
    If I choose Three Finger Move, then Swap Between Pages goes back to "Scroll left or right with Two Fingers" that only works with Safari, but doesn't work with Chrome or Firefox.
    I tried literally every setting in Trackpad and also checked if there was a override settings and there is no overrride setting.
    Would be thankful, if you guys could suggest me what to do?

  • Track Pad single tap and double tap not working

    Dear All,
    I have a MBP A1226 model with intel 2.2 GHz Core 2 uo processor. With Mac OSX ver 10.8.4.
    My system had developed a snag, was not booting up. I booted up thru the rcovery disk and after the disk repair did not help, did a drive erese and a fresh install.
    All seems to work well except that the trackpad does not respond to single aswell as double tap. Scrolling is working fine.
    Help to resolve this issue will be appreciated.
    BTW trackpad was functinal before the snag.
    Regards

    I suspect the trackpad settings were reset when you did your fresh install of Mac OSX.
    to fix this, open up Settings>Trackpad>"Point & Click" tab.
    Here you will find tons of settings that wil let you customize how your trackpad works. More specifically, you will want to enable "Tap to Click".
    Hope this helps!

  • Double tapping finger scanner

    Im not sure if it's a fault, but I don't think so. I've just discovered that the top half of the screen drops down when double tapping the finger scanner (not the home button feature) on the iPhone 6.. Just wondered what the point of it is?!

    Some added info. It's called reachability and should be available for all apps not just the home screen like I first thought.
