Auto snapping not working, playback from events not working.

Why does 1) auto snapping work intermittently regardless whether it's turned on or not, and 2) why can't I play back events from the event browser like I used to? This is a fresh install of FCPX and OSX 10.8.2. At the moment, if I make a cut in the time line, I have to manually close the gap. If I want to play part of a event, I have to put it in the timeline first. Is anybody else experiencing this? Is there a fix?d

Hardware specs?
What codec/format are the clips you're working with?
Don't put Events and Projects on your OS drive.
Turn off background rendering (your rarely need it).
If you select a clip in a timeline, shift-delete is a "ripple delete". Plain old delete key is a "lift delete".
I'm not seeing these issues, and it sounds like a hardware based issue.
Not sure what you mean by play "part of an event". Do you mean "part of a clip"?

It sounds like there’s an issue with Settings, the Notes app entry isn’t showing up as expected. Take a look at the article linked below and try restarting your iPhone 3GS.

Is Note Chasing (Playback from Downbeat) Fixed in L9?

Wondering if L9's behavior is any improved over the following...
One of my biggest problems with L8 is the (well-documented) bug where notes which occur on a hard downbeat won't sound when playback begins from that downbeat (occurs with softsynths/instrument plugs). Case in point: I want to start playback from bar 51_11. I have notes quantized to 51_11. If I start playback from bar 5, those notes will not sound.
Is the behavior any improved in L9?

I am not trying to run anything in JHeadstart. I am only in the Model layer trying to create the re-usable Business Components that will eventually be imported into projects - some using Jheadstart, others not.
The errors I am getting are explained in this post Getting "Unable to find referenced object" at random when opening JDev When I open JDeveloper and HAVE AN ASSOCIATION OPEN IN THE EDIT PANE, then I will get a "unable to reference object" error on some associations. This appears to be caused by our use of refactor in 10g in these entities which was then migrated over to 11g. 2 other people in that thread confirmed that they have had problems with refactor. There is a lot more detail in that thread.
I am not sure what your Proof of Concept comment means. I am assuming POC means Proof of Concept. Correct me if I am wrong. Are you saying that Oracle is not aware that there has been a refactor problem and want me to check it out? I was hoping for some reassurance that Oracle was aware that there were problems with refactor in 10g, and they have been fixed in 11.1.2.
Is Oracle not aware there have been problems with refactor and has anyone used refactor A LOT in 11.1.2 and know it to work correctly?
Is starting from scratch the best idea?
Are there any ideas about shortcuts to help me use the code that has had hours and hours of time invested in it and bring it over to 11.1.2?
If you want me to check it out will I get Oracle consulting fees? :)

Try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again.
You will not lose data by resetting.

Can not drag clips from events to a project

Help!
I create an event and import videos. I then select the section of videos I want (yellow box) and drag into a project.
Nothing happens the clip is not put into my project.
If i do the same but instead of trying to drag I push E the clips move into my project but do not show in the preview screen. The preview plays the videos in the events, the projects area has apparently become redundant.
I have completely removed and re-installed imovie. Reimported new movies to test (from iphone) with no luck. Repaired permissions in disk utility. Problem still there!
There are other threads with this problem but they seem pretty old, with no solution that has worked for me so thought it was best to start my own. I have a stack of footage waiting to be edited and really need to get this sorted quickly so any help, from anyone would be much appreciated.

When iMovie doesn't work as intended this can be due to a lot of reasons
• iMovie Pref files got corrupted - trash it/they and iMovie makes new and error free one's
• Creating a new User-Account and log into this - forces iMovie to create all pref. files new and error free
• Event or Project got corrupted - try to make a copy and repair
• a codec is used that doesn't work
• problem in iMovie Cache folder - trash Cache.mov and Cache.plist
• version miss match of QuickTime Player / iMovie / iDVD
• preferences are wrong - Repair Preferences
• other hard disk problem - Repair Hard Disk (Disk Util tool - but start Mac from ext HD or DVD)
• External hard disks - MUST BE - Mac OS Extended (hfs) formatted to work with Video
( UNIX/DOS/FAT32/Mac OS Exchange - works for most other things - but not for Video )
• USB-flash-memories do not work
• Net-work connected hard disks - do not work
• iPhoto Library got problems - let iPhoto select another one or repair it. Re-build this first then try to re-start iMovie.
This You do by
_ close iPhoto
_ on start up of iPhoto - Keep {cmd and alt-keys down}
_ now select all five options presented
_ WAIT a long long time
• free space on Start-Up (Mac OS) hard disk to low (<1Gb) - I never go under 25Gb free space for SD-Video (4-5 times more for HD)
• external devices interferes - turn off Mac - disconnect all of them and - Start up again and re-try
• GarageBand fix - start GB - play a few notes - Close it again and now try iMovie
• Screen must be set to million-colors
• Third-party plug-ins doesn't work OK
• Run "Cache Out X", clear out all caches and restarts the Mac
• Let Your Mac be turned on during one night. At about midnight there is a set of maintenance programs that runs and tidying up. This might help
• Turn off Your Mac - and disconnect Mains - for about 20-30 minutes - at least this resets the FireWire port.
• In QuickTime - DivX, 3ivx codec, Flip4Mac, Perian etc - might be problematic - temporarily move them out and re-try
(I deleted the file "3ivxVideoCodec.component" located in Mac HD/Library/Quicktime and this resolved my issue.)

Problem creating secure HTML5 ads, the Adobe CDN library location is not secure, pulled from http, not https

Hello, I am having problems creating secure https html5 ads in Adobe Edge Animate CC. The CDN library http://download.adobe.com/pub/adobe/edge/animate/2.0.0/edge.2.0.0.min.js called from the Preloader scrip is not hosted in the secure location and the CDN library does not have a secure https version. As a result I am not able to place the ads on a secure website because the scrip is called from non secure location. We are serving the ads through Double Click and using Adobe Edge Animate CC Version 2.0.0.250.24837 on a PC platform.

Notes Multiply alarmingly - from 10 Notes to 300,000

Mail has been really problematic foe me recently (refuses to Quit unless ForceQuit, hogs up all CPU, is sluggish in general and clicking on Notes and ToDos crashes Mail.)
I have tried various remedies (rebuilt Mailboxes, trashed Preferences, stopped syncing Notes) but nothing has helped.
I looked in the ~/Library/Mail/Mailboxes/Notes.mbox/Messages directory and found over 300,000 items when I have only about 10 notes. There are multiple copies of these 10 Notes in that folder. And the number of items in that folder increases as long as Mail is running. The size of this folder is now 1.35 GB when each Note is 8KB or less. As soon as I start Mail these begin to multiply.
I am using MobileMe but have turned off Notes Syncing. Even then the Notes seem to multiply on their own.
I have 2 IMAP and one POP folder.

Thanks for your help. I tried the steps you mentioned (deleted the Notes.mbox and plist files, recreated the accounts) but the Notes kept multiplying. Finally, in exaspration I just deleted all the Notes and the multiplying stopped. HOWEVER, despite removing all the Notes, recreating the Mailboxes and unchecking Notes sync, Mail still crashes when I click on Notes.
In addition, even after all those changes (and many many more prior to that) Mail is horribly slow, it periodically consumes all the CPU making my (otherwise very well-behaved) laptop extremely hot with the fans blowing REALLY hard and refuses to Quit unless Force Quit. It may be time for me to go back to Eudora. All of this started happening since 10.5.4 or the MobileMe update.

Not deleting pix from card, not ejecting (used to do both!)

After importing from my 1D Mark3, I get these little prompts. Used to delete images and ejct the card; but it no longer does.
I still get the following promts, and hit delete items. Any ideas?

Work apart from After Call Work in UCCX

UCCX Version : 10.0
I have configured "Automatic Work" and "Wrapup Time" in CSQ settings.
After every call the agents are getting a 30 second work time as per the configuration.
Now i need to make the agents in Work state when they have Meeting or training. But i cannot extend the work time more than 30 seconds.
Can anybody please help

For meeting/training usually the agent would switch themselves into 'not ready' and select the reason.
'work' is purely for after-call admin etc.

I've found a solution.
I've been told that this problem is occuring
because the Work Item ID is not being passed correctly to the BOR basedtransaction.
The solution in my case is:
(1) Goto SPRO -> Customer Relationship Management -> IC Web Client ->
Basic Functions -> Transaction Launcher -> Configure Transaction
Launcher (wizard)
(2) Give the launch transaction id in the 'Entries' screen. The launch
transaction id is Z_ACTION_EXECUTE_WORKITEM in my case.
(3) Keep all the parameters same in the further screens until you reach
the 'Transaction Parameters' screen
(4) In this screen, the value currently being passed to Object Key is
//selectedAUI Workitem/WI_ID. Change this to
//selectedAUIWFWIAttachments/OBJECT_ID.
Goto last step and then say 'Complete'.

Tolerance dialogue missing on "make work path from selection"

I am trying to convert a 1-color drawing to a path so I can put it into Illustrator. I use the magic wand to select the edges and get a nice tight fit. But when I select the "Make work path from selection" button, I get a sloppy fit. I've looked this up, and supposedly I should get a dialogue box asking me to state the tolerance. I have never seen that box - I've tried it and had colleagues come try it. My version 13.1.2 x64. Seems like a bug to me, but maybe I'm missing something. Is there another way to do this? Thank.s

[EDIT] As an aside to the above information, having had a play with it, I have realised how poorly the 'Make work path from selection' feature works in Photoshop. It has always worried me that distibution of points that result from using that feature on a Shift drag eliptical marquee circle, appear less than optimal, but I have just lived with that because it is quick and convenient. But having just looked again, zooming right in and activating the point handles, the curve is just plain horrible!
Me thinks I shall take the time to do it properly in future, by using the Shape tool.
It also amazed me how many points were used when setting tolerance to the minimum of .5
Anyway... I am not getting my work done here, so time to earn a living

Auto-Submit On Change in DropDown List not working properly!

Hi all,
I�ve got a problem with a drop down list an a table with some rows on my page. The property "Auto-Submit on Change" is set for the drop down because the valueChange-method has to do some work when the user selects another value from the drop down.
The problem is that after selecting another item from the drop down, the table fields don�t keep their values, which I had entered before I selected another item in the drop down. But: When I select an item again, suddenly exactly these values are set.

Is there some explanation for this behavior or it�s really a bug in the way how the drop down is submitting the form? I would understand it when commitChanges is not working here because of auto submit on change (==immediate?). but once it works und once it doesn�t work!
