Auto Start 4.5.1 & Console startup

I have two questions (hope I have the correct newsgroup). To Start my
WebExpress server 4.5.1 on NT Server 4.0, I have to change to the Weblogic
Directory and type in startWeblogic.cmd.
- I will be managing the server remotely. How can I have it start
automatically for example when I reboot my server?
- I also noticed when I connect using the WebLogic Console, before I can
login I have to click on the Advanced button and change the port from 7001
to 80. How can I change the default to 80?
Thank You,

Tom,
- I will be managing the server remotely. How can I have it start
automatically for example when I reboot my server?You should install WLS as an NT service.
- I also noticed when I connect using the WebLogic Console, before I can
login I have to click on the Advanced button and change the port from 7001
to 80. How can I change the default to 80?
I don't know why this happening. The Console should know to remember the
port number. Can you file a bug report?
Thanks!

  • How to switch off auto start of replication sp's.

    hi,
                 I was checking my sqlserver's master database and found some body has swithched on    auto start
    of the following sps.
    sp_MScleanupmergepublisher
    sp_MSrepl_startup
                   May be some one was exprerimenting with replication.
    pls tel me how can i switch them off?
    i was hesitating to use this command
    "sp_procoption 'spname', 'startup','off'"
    , because i thought some on might have configured some thing else also for replication
    or there might be some other way to swithch of these replication sp.
    yours sincerely

    You dont want to stop these.
    These are automatically started when SQL Server starts provided you have replication configured.

  • Virtual keyboard auto starts in Windows 8.1 Pro

    Even if the toolbar is turned off and the toolbar is locked, and under ease of use the checkbox is unchecked, this pesky icon keeps coming back. Is there a registry fix... users are complaining. thx!

    Hi,
    Please know that it’s powered by a windows service called Touch keyboard and handwriting
    pane. Stopping this service will be in result of disabling the on-screen keyboard.
    Let’s try to disable the service related to the touch keyboard:
    1. Press Win+R, type “services.msc“, and press Enter to bring up Services window.
    2. Scroll down  a bit until locate the service called Touch keyboard …
    3. Double click it, first to stop it if it’s running, and then change the Startup type to either Manual or Disable to prevent it from auto-starting next time when computer starts.
    Hope these could be helpful.

  • Skype/Pulse audio problem only if auto started

    Hi,
    I've an Arch/XFCE laptop including pulse audio and Skype (configured to use the pulse audio).
    Skype has been configured  (using XFCE startup menu) to auto start during boot ( we boot daily), and, till about 2 weeks ago, worked fine.
    Ever since, Skype starts but isn't functional (while trying to connect to the test service I can't hear anything, not even the dialing), and, after a few minutes, starts with a constant loud noise (which stops, once I quit Skype).
    Interesting, since the problem  has begun, once I do either of the following, Skype returns, and remains, to be fully functional without any noise:
    1. Quit the auto-started Skype, and immediately relaunch it.
    2. Cancel to Skype auto start, and manually start Skype after XFCE becomes visible.
    Looking at log files (below), I've seen some pulse audio related errors which I couldn't solve and may be related.
    I do a full system update (almost) daily.
    I'd be happy to return to the former state (functional auto-started Skype). Please advise
    Thanks

    After creation I have execute:
    *#chmod 750 /etc/rc.d/init.d/dbora*

  • Auto-Start Items

    Before I delete the 2 entries form the auto start, can I prevent Adobe Acrobat & Adobe Reader and Acrobat Manager from starting at system startup??
    A only installed Adobe Reader. I don't know why Acrobat is in there.
    James

    don't know about 1) but 2) ie easy to fix. when you are saving the script from the script editor uncheck the box "Startup Screen".

  • Where to put EM db console startup script?

    I have 2-node RAC on Linux servers. All the services including database/listeners come up automatically after the Node reboot.
    Oracle support confirmed that "db console" is not a part of auto-start script.
    So I have to put together a script basically to do "emctl start dbconsole".
    Need to know what is the best place/file to call this script, keeping in mind the CRS/database take sometime to comeup.
    Thanks

    Oh sorry. No, RAC don't use dbstart.
    You probably have to come up with a simple script that just do emctl start.
    For example, call this file oraem
    modify based on the sample dbora script from Oracle doc.
    #! /bin/sh  -x
    # Change the value of ORACLE_HOME to specify the correct Oracle home
    # directory for your installation.
    ORACLE_HOME=/u01/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/db_1
    # Change the value of ORACLE to the login name of the
    # oracle owner at your site.
    ORACLE=oracle
    PATH=${PATH}:$ORACLE_HOME/bin
    HOST=`hostname`
    PLATFORM=`uname`
    export ORACLE_HOME PATH
    case $1 in
    'start')
            $ORACLE_HOME/bin/emctl start dbconsole &
    'stop')
            $ORACLE_HOME/bin/emctl stop dbconsole &
            echo "usage: $0 {start|stop}"
            exit
    esac
    exit# chgrp dba oraem
    # chmod 750 oraem
    Test run it manually a couple of time make sure it works.
    then link,
    # ln -s /etc/init.d/oraem /etc/rc.d/rc3.d/K01dbora
    # ln -s /etc/init.d/oraem /etc/rc.d/rc3.d/S99dbora

    Solved !
    I have inserted a space before chkconfig and description in the script:

    #!/bin/sh
    # chkconfig: 345 99 10
    # description: Oracle auto start-stop script.

  • Console startup of WLS - Where does console get CLASSPATH?

    Hi-
    I just installed the eval version of WLS 5.1 + SP5 on my NT4 box. I followed the
    SP5 installation instructions for modifying my classpath to include the new sp5
    jars. Here's the output of wlconfig:
    WebLogic startup settings are presently:
    CLASSPATH Prefix d:\weblogic\lib\weblogic510sp5boot.jar
    CLASSPATH
    d:\weblogic\lib\weblogic510sp5boot.jar;d:\jdk1.3\lib\tools.jar;d:\jdk1.3\jre\lib\rt.jar;d:\jdk1.3\jre\lib\i18n.jar;d:\weblogic\license;d:\weblogic\classes\boot;d:\weblogic\classes;d:\weblogic\lib\weblogicaux.jar;d:\weblogic\eval\cloudscape\lib\cloudscape.jar
    JAVA_HOME d:\jdk1.3
    WEBLOGIC_LICENSEDIR d:\weblogic\license
    WEBLOGIC_HOME d:\weblogic
    system properties:
    java.security.manager
    java.security.policy==d:\weblogic\weblogic.policy
    weblogic.system.home=d:\weblogic
    java.compiler=NONE
    weblogic.class.path=c:\weblogic\lib\weblogic510sp5.jar;d:\weblogic\license;d:\weblogic\classes;d:\weblogic\myserver\serverclasses;d:\weblogic\lib\weblogicaux.jar
    INITIAL_HEAP 64 MB
    MAX_HEAP 64 MB
    SERVERCLASSPATH
    d:\weblogic\lib\weblogic510sp5boot.jar;d:\jdk1.3\jre\lib\rt.jar;d:\jdk1.3\jre\lib\i18n.jar;d:\weblogic\classes\boot;d:\weblogic\eval\cloudscape\lib\cloudscape.jar
    Now: If I start the server using startWebLogic.cmd and then attach the console
    to it, I see that I'm running SP5 and the CLASSPATH is what I expect. However,
    if I start WLS from the console I see that
    d:\weblogic\lib\weblogic510sp5boot.jar is NOT in the CLASSPATH and I'm actually
    running the "original" WLS 5.1
    My question: Where is the console getting its settings, if not from the
    registry? How can I change the console settings so it uses the right CLASSPATH?
    Thanks,
    James Scott

    I'm not sure I understand your specific problem. Can you provide some details.
    WLS does not require its admin console to be running, and it can be run in the background. (ie started via nohup from an init script.)

    Is there any app for phone auto start after swithced off??

    Are you looking for an app which will startup the Z10 at a specified time?
    I don't know of one. I have a feeling once OS 10.2 is available you'll see apps such as this.

  • Auto-start application on Container/Server restart

    What's the easiest was to have the container auto-launch a specific application whenever it is started/restarted? I assume this would also happen if the entire server were rtestarted?
    _mike

    Hello,
    If you put a server in your project and you put the servlet at auto-start your application will start automatically when the server will start.
    To do that you just have to use the element:
    <load-on-startup>1</load-on-startup>
    in the servlet tag.
    server.xml:
    <application name="foo" path="../applications/foo.ear" auto-start="true" />
    http-web-site.xml:
    <web-app application="foo" name="foo-web" load-on-startup="true" root="/foo" />

  • Auto start application in web logic

    Hello,
    I need to auto startup an application in a unix server. The application uses session bean to access the database.
    Is it possible to auto start up the application using a cron tab/cron job because the application is using session bean residing in weblogic server?
    If not how do i do that? convert the session bean into normal java classes and access database without using a session bean?
    Thanks for you help.

    Hi,
    I tried adding the listener .
    It work in tomcat but after i transport it into weblogic 5.1, i give this error.
    Received SAXParseException from Sun Parser at line 5, column -1: org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: Element "web-app" does not allow "listener" here.
    I removed all other elements and it stil l wont work...
    <listener>
    <listener-class>com.SAW.project.servlet.SVLTriggerServlet</listener-class>
    </listener>
    Is there any way to fix this?
    Or what s the correct way to wrtie a program that do something once everyday, auto start up when webserver startup and use Session bean to access database?
    I tried using cron job but i dont think i can because im using EJB in my program..init() is not called when u start the server...
    im going to try the <!ELEMENT load-on-startup (#PCDATA)> to start it using a http servlet instead of a listener...

  • Auto-Start Tidal Agent services

    Hi all,
         Do you guys have an idea on how to auto-start the service of tidal agent in linux? Thanks!

    Thanks guys for the inputs.
    It is now working, this is what I did:
    I created "mystartup.sh" at etc/rc.d/init.d with this script inside:
    #!/bin/bash
    /opt/TIDAL/Agent/bin/tagent TIDALAGENT1 start
    #author: Lodz
    #chkconfig: 345 25 75
    #description: tidal agent auto startup
    then i added the shell script on boot using this commands:
    # chkconfig --add mystartup.sh
    # chkconfig mystratup.sh on

  • Auto Start/Shutdown db on Linux (RHEL-4)

    Hello,
    I have posted a thread in Database General forum :
    Auto Start/Shutdown db on RHEL 4
    and there one suggestation i got that i have to raise my problem here itself only.
    Kindly look into the issue and help me.
    Thanks & Regards
    Girish Sharma

    I see you start this service at sequence "99". This is good, but there are other 99-level startup scripts as well. These are processed in alphabetical order. Do this:
    $ ls /etc/rd5d.d/S99*
    So, "dbora" will run even before rc.local and that may not be a good thing.
    Also, checking:
    $ ls /etc/rc5.d/K* | head -n15
    will show you the order in which services are shut down, again in alphabetical order.
    These steps may help:
    # /sbin/chkconfig dbora off
    # /sbin/service dbora stop
    # cd /etc/init.d/
    # /sbin/chkconfig --del dbora
    # mv dbora xxx-dbora
    # vi xxx-dbora
    # /sbin/chkconfig --add xxx-dbora
    # /sbin/chkconfig xxx-dbora on
    # /sbin/service xxx-dbora start
    What we are doing is:
    1) Remove existing dbora service
    2) Rename the service to something that shows last in an ls(1) command
    3) Edit the xxx-dbora script to change the chkconfig info from "99 10" to "99 01"
    4) Installed the service.
    Now, the start-up is done as the very last action and shutdown as the very first.
    Does this make any difference?
