Auto-Start Slacker or Pandora on Bluetooth Connect

Does anyone know of a way to auto-start Slacker, Pandora or any other internet music app for that matter each time your phone connects to a bluetooth device.
Right now I have my Iphone4 auto-connect to my Pioneer AVIC D3 in my truck and I would like it to start one of those apps each time it makes a connection. My Verizon Iphone4 is running 4.2.8 (8E401)
Thanks!

  • No tap/app sounds when bluetooth connects/disconnects

I've been chasing this for some time now.  What happens is very similar to the posts others shared where the phone is not muted but the apps, notifications, ringer, etc behave silently.  For me, I usually notice the phone vibrating instead of ringing or chiming for a message.  When I unlock, there are no tap sounds as I enter the code and the keyboard is silent.
Today I noticed the phone went silent as I started my car.  The bluetooth connected to the handsfree in the car and I lost sounds.  I killed the bluetooth on the phone and sounds were restored.  Something is wrong because it also happens when I connect my Jawbone headset, too.  Interestingly, when I use the in-car or headset bluetooth to make a call it operates properly.
    Running 4S 6.1.1

    @SoCalJake
I've had this problem as well. I bought a Bluetooth keyboard at Christmas and have not had any sounds from my phone other than it vibrating since. I don't know if Apple is aware of the issue or not but disabling the Bluetooth feature when I do not need it seems to have resolved it.

  • Bluetooth Connection + package

    Hi there,
I need to make a connection from Java through a USB bluetoothdevice to another bluetooth device. The only thing I need to do is to send some strings or integers back and forward.
My problem is that I'm not able to find a bluetooth package on the net. All the links I tried to download such packages are dead. I'm new with this so I don't even know how to start my code for the bluetooth connection though that may not be a problem since I could find a lot of example codes on the internet.
Could someone point me in te right direction for downloading such bluetooth packages ?

Well, can't figure it out. For starters, I already downloaded the bluecove .jar file, because of that I could import javax.bluetooth.* . Whoever I can't find the right code/explanation for making a connection to another bluetooth device.
Some help will be appreciated !

  • How to stop music from auto starting when bluetooth ear piece connects.

Does anyone know how to keep the music app from auto playing when I connect my blue tooth ear piece? It's driving me crazy because when I'm on a call and switch to Bluetooth the music starts playing. Any help would greatly be appreciated.
    Thanks,

    G,
You might try downloading Bluetooth Connect & Stop Play from the playstore.

  • Podcast app auto-play on bluetooth connect, not wanted!

I've read several threads regarding annoying behavior of audio apps while connected to bluetooth audio devices, but none directly relating the problem I have.
In fact, the thing that bothers me appears to generally be considered to be desireable to most people commenting in these threads:
I'd like to have the option to just turn off auto-play when my phone connects to my bluetooth car radio.
Sometimes, I want it to do that, other times, I want to hear my radio, and I am really annoyed that I have to pull the phone out of my pocket, switch it on, enter my security code, switch to the podcast app, and finally, touch the pause button!
I can't find an option in control panel, or the podcast app that allows me to disable bluetooth auto-playback when I don't want it doing that.
I've got an Iphone 5, running IOS 6.1.4 (10B350) and podcast 1.2.1 (331), both of which must have already had the problem that most of these threads address fixed.
Am I overlooking something? Is there a way to tell podcast to mind its own business and not take control of my car radio when I get in and start the motor?
And no, I don't want to just turn off bluetooth! We have a law in this state (Oregon) that says you can't fiddle with your phone while you're driving. I want my phone to connect automatically, but I want podcast to shut up unless I tell it to auto-connect.
    Thanks....

I reallly need some help here, folks, this is becoming an unacceptible situation!
Update: I read on several of the other threads about bluetooth and podcast issues that the only solution that works is to delete the podcast app and use the music player to listen to podcasts, so I deleted it not long after I made the original post, which meant I had to re-download my podcasts with my phone connected to a computer running itunes.
This morning, I drove my car for the first time since deleteing the podcast app, and I was disturbed to hear one of my podcasts playing though the car speakers!
I don't have any music stored on my phone, so I don't know if the music player would have started playing music every time it connects to the bluetooth reciever in my car radio, but I can only assume that it does do that since it started playing my podcast.
There's no option in settings for music or bluetooth that lets you either tell music not to play when the phone connects to a bluetooth audio device, or to tell bluetooth in the phone what apps to start up on connect.
This is a major oversight in my opinion, and Apple should fix it.
Does everyone but me want music to automatically start whenever their phone connects to a bluetooth device?
Is there a solution to this problem?

  • Music auto start on Bluetooth iOS

I have experienced a problem with Music on my iPhone (4,5 & 6) auto starting when I connect it to my Bluetooth device (Acura TL, Bose speakers, etc.).  This is not isolated to the car and appears to be an issue with my iPhone and not the Bluetooth device.  Especially given it happens on all my Bluetooth devices.  I have tried to delete songs on the phone and stop Music/iTunes from accessing data, and nothing seems to work.
Another unusual thing is that Music seems to pull the songs from iTunes even though I've stopped the data usage for both programs.  How the heck is it still playing music with both programs forbidden to use data???????
    Any help is greatly appreciated!

I know that Music APPS can do this from time to time when Bluetooth headsets are involved. e.g., WinAmp had this issue at 1 time whereby it would "take over" any Bluetooth connection so that pressing the PLAY button on my headset would start my last WinAmp song -- even though I was listening to another APP at the time - like TuneIn Radio or iHeartRadio. This resulted in both playing at the same time.
Maybe take a look at which Music APP you have installed and uninstall it and test for a few days?  (which one(s) did you install?)

  • After working fine for several months, my iPhone 5 has started dropping bluetooth connectivity for 2 to 5 seconds at a time with my Sony MDR-1RBT headphones.  The headphones work fine with other devices.  I haven't moved to ios7 yet.  Any ideas?

What user troubleshooting have you done on the phone? The steps are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new. Understand that a restore will put the latest iOS on your device. It is also possible there is a hardware fault on the device and the Bluetooth is failing. Anything is possible given the scenario you describe.
And as far as iOS 7.x is concerned, we have 5 different iPhones here at home, all with the latest iOS, a 4, 4s, 5c, and 2-5s and all are working just fine. So, a blanket statement such as the one provided by the other poster is not completely true. Others are not having any issues at all either.

  • Auto start LR on camera connect?

    Hi
When using Bridge it would auto-start when I connected my camera to my Mac, LR doesn't seem to follow this behaviour. It will open the import dialogue if LR is already running when I connect the camera. Is this normal behaviour?
Secondly, I can't find an option to delete files from the camera after importing them to LR as there is in Bridge, have I missed it or is it not there?
    Thanks

Configure in ImageCapture under Applications and check 'Show import dialog when a memory card is detected' under Import in Preferences.

  • How to turn off iTunes auto-start when iPhone connected?

The option "Open iTunes when this iPhone is connected" is disabled (grayed out) in iTunes 10. The grayed-out check box is unchecked, yet iTunes starts every time I plug in my iPhone 3G. I would like to be able to plug in my phone without iTunes starting. Is there a way?

Right. Un-checking the preference to prevent auto-sync re-enabled the auto-start option. Then I was able to check and un-check the auto-start option and re-check the prevent auto-sync preference. Now all seems well. Despite appearances (the un-checked option), the internal setting was in the wrong state and twiddling it seems to have set things right.
What a boneheaded user interface, where items on widely separated parts of the UI affect each other invisibly.

  • AUTO START WHEN CONNECTED

AUTO START WHEN CONNECTED  In Backup, NAS to USB AUTO START WHEN CONNECTED: What does this  actually mean, in BACKUP of Dashboard? Will it auto sync every time a change takes place on the NAS?   Or must the USB be removed and reinserted into the USB port on the MCM?

No, the clue's in the name It's a one-off single process, just triggered by the drive connection rather than by manual starting via the dashboard. When you connect the drive, it will trigger the backup, which will then proceed to the end and stop just as if you had manually started the backup. But at the end, if you want to backup again, you have to either manually restart it or disconnect and reconnect the drive. As it stands today, there is no "auto sync" option within the dashboard between the built-in drives and USB connected ones. It can be set up using SSH and a cron job, but that will be messing aroud with the NAS at the base command line level and will probably invalidate your warranty if things go wrong. Have a look through the suggestions thread as this kind of question (sync'ing in general, not specifically NAS<>USB) comes up quite regularly and has probably been made there, where you can support it and comment yourself.

I have seen another discussion re the log file problems with the same effects on the phone performance. I am wondering how many are bothered about this matter and how many report it. Most of us do not bother to waste time on a discussion board, but think on how quick to make the next buck... Most of us will return the phone to the shop, upgrade or chop it away and get a different model. It is only few of us who realy wonder why this thing happens or the other does not with a phone or anything else. I have not tried the 5-10 days time lenght for the log file, but I'll do it in the future and come back to the forum with the results. The firmware version of my phone is: v 05.22(01) 03-06-2005 RA-2. Is there an update? How do I update it?
    Thanks,

  • Stop Napster Auto Starting when I connect my

I wonder if anyone has any tips about this one...
When I first connected my ZMP I accidentially chose "always start Napster to syncronise" from the auto start list.
Normally I choose "don't do anything" but I chose Napster by accident this time.
Anyway - normal autostart removal techniques dont work with the ZMP...
Anyone any ideas how to stop this auto starting?
    cheers!

When connecting your MicroPhoto, the "MTP icon" will appear in your taskbar briefly. Double-click that icon to bring back the "MTP Media Player" autostart box; you can then change the option. I suggest you choose "Take no action" and keep the "do this every time" option on; that means it won't autostart any application.
You can also download the TweakUI application for WinXP from Microsoft and use it to change your player's autostart options.

  • Is it possible to get Win 7 to auto start VPN connection?

    Hey all,
Is it possible to get Windows 7 to auto start VPN connection? Or can you recommend a 3rd Party VPN client application?
    thanks

To make a batch file. exe or cmd, you need to open a notepad. Go to Start-All Programs -Accessories and click on Notepad. In notepad type in
rasphone -d ****** where is ****** a name of your VPN connection
For example: your Vpn connection is called My VPN
    The command line will be:
    rasphone -d My VPN
Then, save as .cmd or .bat for example. Vpn.cmd
    2. Then, Go to Start-All programs -Startup Folder. Click on it with a mouse right button and drag the Vpn.cmd file (file you've made in a notepad). Now, you should see it in startup folder.
3 Right click on your Vpn connection, choose properties. Go to the ,,Option menu,, and Unmark (if marked) -prompt for user name and password, certificate etc. And press Ok.
Restart the laptop. if everything is ok, you will see appearing Command prompt after Windows logging. It connects automatically and disappears.
