Auto Syndication

Hi All,
How does Auto syndication works in MDM 7.1?
I am importing 20000 records in to MDM.. I want to syndicate at the same time while file is importing with a file containing 1000 records.. Is it possible to syndicate simultaniously?
Eg: I have 20 files which consists of 20000 records.. while it is importing is it possible to syndicate records? I made the configuration to syndicate per file 1000 records.
Or I need to wait until all the files got imported then only MDM start syndicating 20 files at one go?
Please do let me know.
Thanks in Advance
Rajeev

Hi Rajeev,
To Automize syndication process, open syndication map and set operator parameter for created or update date  field for e.g. if you set Update Date Operator : rel= and Value : Today 0 Days in this case which ever records update today it will get syndicate automatically same way you can also set for particular field value updation
I have 20 files which consists of 20000 records.. while it is importing is it possible to syndicate records? I made the configuration to syndicate per file 1000 records. ????
No, it is not possible to syndicate records during importing because during importing of data MDM server will allow to perform any write operation
Thanks,

  • Automatic Syndication not working

    Hi All,
I created a repository in sandbox server.(MDM Ver 7.1 SP06 ).Later it was updated back to SP05.I designed the table, ports ,and Remote system ... I gave the processing type for the Syndication to be Automatic and continuous time interval.Autosyndication was not working.Later restarted the MDSS server for sandbox and autosyndication was working fine.
Now i moved the repositort form Sandbox to development server( V7.1 SP05 ).Nothing changed but still syndication is not happening. If i open the syndicator ,use the same map and try to syndicate it is happening manually but not automatically.
I am not able to solve this. Please help me regarding this.Is this something to do with restarting of MDSS server for developement also.I checked with other team for autosuyndication and it is working fine.
    Thanks and Regards

    Nitin -
Check your Syndicator server if running, MDSS.
Check in mdss.ini file next parameters:
    GLOBAL
    Auto Syndication Task Enabled=True
    Auto Syndication Task Delay (seconds)=10
Also looking in the Syndicatior and see if records are greyed out or not, if they are greyed out then records are not selected for syndication
    Try Restart server
I will recommand you to see below link as well

    Hi,
Which version of MDM are you using? I am using MDM 5.5. SP4 and I can see a difference in the file format that I have and the one you mentioned.
    <b>My format:</b>

  • Experiencing poor syndication service performance in MDM SP06

I have installed MDM SP06 on our test server and have had to switch our syndications from using the syndication manager batch utility to using the syndication service.
These syndications all have the "suppress unchanged records" option selected (checked) so that we only send recently inserted/updated records.
I have found that when no records have been updated, the syndication service seems to be invoking SQL Server repeatedly nd frequently and between MDSS and MSSQL, they pretty much keep our CPU busy most of the time.
However, if I touch one or more rows, the perfromance, for the run immediately following seems to improve.
I notice similar behavior in Syndication Manager.  If no rows have been updated, syndication manager just runs and runs when I execute the syndication.  But if I touch one or more rows, then it executes the syndication in a reasonable time.
Does anyone have any ideas as to what I might be doing wrong, or may have missed when installing/configuring 5.6?
The repository in question is not particularyn bik -- there are about 67K vendor records on the main table.
Thank you for any assistance or ideas,
    Vince

    Cherry,
Thanks, but unfortunately we had previously committed to send files to certain systesm every 10 minutes (with our old, home-grown, Oracle based solution it was every 5).  We had been able to do that with batch syndication, but we couldn't hold off upgrading forever as we needed some other new features.
I also tried increasing the Auto Syndication Task Delay, but that just gives us brief intermittent periods of idle time.
What would have been helpful was a real scheduler -- not just the choice of continuous, hourly daily or weekly -- that's pretty lame.
    Thanks,
    Vince

  • Value conversion during syndication.

    Hi All,
I need to do a value conversion during syndication of records out of MDM. The values maintained in my MDM Repository is true and false while the destination system can only read Y and N. What would be the best option to have this value conversion done during the auto syndication?
    Appreciate your responses.
    - Aditya

One way to handle this is by using key mapping on a lookup table instead of a boolean field.  Often times your remote systems will have different internal values than the ones you are storing in your system.  For example, you may store "True" or "False" as values in your MDM repository, however ECC doesn't accept those values, instead it wants "X" or "NULL".  Likewise, a third-party system may expect "T" or "F".  The same thing goes for other fields in your repository (ie: country codes, region values, etc).  In cases such as this, you should create a lookup table with key mapping enabled.  Then, you can maintain different values based on the remote system.  In other words, you may store the value "TRUE" in your lookup table, but the key mapping for true may maintain "X" for ECC and "T" for a legacy system that you define in the console.  Then, when you build your syndication map, you may the remote key to the destination field instead of mapping the actual code value of your repository.  This way the correct value will always get syndicated to the partner system regardless of what system is being syndicated to.
    Does that make sense?

  • Batch Syndication General export error.

I am getting the following error message when I do a batch syndication.  This is not consistent, but happens about 50% of the time.
    Syndication Error.
    (-301) General export error.
Any idea on what may be the cause.
    Regards,
    Simon

This is the info we got from SAP via OSS re this error ...
    Summary
    Symptom
While using the Syndicator Batch  you are receiving general connection errors of the type (-301) General Export Error
    Other terms
    -301, batch syndicator
    Reason and Prerequisites
The Syndicator Batch is running together with the Syndicator Server (batch and auto syndication inside mdss)
    OR
The same repository is being processed by two batches
    OR
You are syndicating from two different repositories using the same mdss
    Solution
The issue is solved in SP04 Patch 2 Hotfix 1, however, if you do not need any ports syndication in parallel to the Syndicator Batch, then set the Auto Syndication parameter 'Auto Syndication Task Enabled' to 'False' in the mdss.ini and in this case you will not need to upgrade to the Hotfix. In case that you do need the ports syndication in parallel and you cannot carry out the upgrade, then you may use a workaround by increasing the Delay parameter in the mdss.ini to a much higher value i.e.3600 sec.

  • Auto Syndicate Using MDSS

    Hi All,
Im not able to auto syndicate records in MDM 7.1. I have done all the settings like
    1. starting MDSS aux server
    2. setting the map and assigning port
    3. setting syndication to automatic and
    4. processing as continuous.
    5. Restarted Syndication server2-3 times
I don't think i missed on any of the settings, but still auto syndication is not happening on record creation/change record
Please guide on possible solution to it.
    Thanks
    Manish

    Hi Manish,
which user have you defined for MDSS accessing the repository? Does your user have a password? Is the password maintained for MDSS?
Link your MDSS as "Auxiliary Server" in MDM Console. There you'll see a list of repositories (note: your repository must be running to appear in the list). Select your repository and maintain valid logon credentials.
    Special Hint:
below you MDSS you'll find a menu item "Logs". Check the logs, sometimes they contain useful information why the syndication failed.
    Best regards
    Michael

  • Cannot encrypt Password in MDSS file...

    Hi All,
Can in  mdss.ini file we encrypt the password for repository with user id other than Admin?
issue is i change the password in console for Admin and then try to login datamanager with Admin user id ,but it fails saying Invalid login credentials..
So I have to use other user id in mdss file (which has Admin role assigned to it) and restart mdss , sot that mdss can see the repository and start polling  the files in ready folder..
    This is not working..
    Any inputs ..
    Cheers!!
    Vikrant M Kelkar

    Hi Vikrant,
Once you have changed a Users Password in MDM Console.
You just need to restart your MDSS and enter in the new Userid and  pwd under that particulat repository. and Save it.
This should take up the new login for auto syndication.
    Thanks & Regards

  • Syndicate only when few fields change

    Hi Gurus,
There are 10 fields in the Main table. And the requirement is such that the auto syndication should happen only when Field 1 or Field 4 value changes (like change pointer triggering).
I know there is an option while creating a syndication map to "Supress unchanged records" but this work for all the fields.
I need to trigger the syndication only when Field 1 or Field 4 changes.
    Please help me achieve that.

    hi,
    There is one work around.
We can achieve this requiremnt  through workflow.
If feasible for you then try these steps :
1.create one more field  that contain  information of field1 and field4 .
    2. Create one  validation that check whther the concatenation of field1 and field4 equals to the value of new field
3.create an assignment that assign these two fields value to new field
4.create onw workflow that run on record update.
4.1 this workflow runs on each update of record
4.2 second step do that validation that we created in step 2
4.3 if  validation ok then end of workflow
4.4 otherwise, run the assignemnt that created in step 3 and syndication step that syndicate  the records  whose either field1 and field4 value change.
just check your feasibility with this approach and revert back if u need any other help.
    Thanks,

  • Error while Syndicating

When i am synicating record or records ,the records are getting syndicated properly when it is done manually,
But when it is done by automation only a temp file with 0kb is getting generated in the output ready folder.
    Automation executing MDM-Syndication workflow.
Plz help to me to solve the issue.

    Hi Nagalakshmi,
If you want to know about the details of setting Automatic Syndication, then follow the steps below:
    1. Open Syndication manager, & Check the Map Properties tab in the syndicator.
    2. Please check Outbound port in Console with processing type as Automatic & Map field has a map created in Syndicator for that particular repository.
    3. Goto,Syndication Server folder in Server,Open MDSS.ini file set the time interval in Auto Syndication Task Delay (seconds)=10 to 30 secs & Auto Syndication Task Enabled=True.
    4. Resart the server to enable the changes made.
    Hope it helps

  • Import and Syndicate Server Configuration

    Hi All,
Is it possible to setup the time interval in Import and Syndicator, with specific to one repository.
For example, if i have one repository, for which the import has to run every 30 mins, and for another if it has to run every 3 mins.
Is it possibel to do it?.
    Same for syndicator as well?
    Thanks,
    Priya.

    Hello Priya,
This is possible in MDM 7.1 without PI .
    1. For MDSS, there is a repository level MDSS.ini configuration setting for such a delay
From the MDM 7.1 Console Reference Guide:"
Auto Syndication Task Delay= (seconds) .
Integer. The number of seconds MDSSu2019s automatic syndication task waits after syndicating to all ports associated with the repository. Value copied from the corresponding property in MDM Console
    2. With MDIS it is a bit more complicated as MDIS is able to process in chunks of data.
Therefore you are able to define the delay between chunks
From the MDM 7.1 Console Reference Guide:"
    Inter-Chunk Delay= (MS)
Integer. The number of milliseconds MDIS waits between processing chunks of records to allow other clients access to MDS.
These are all explained in the Console reference guide.
I advise you to read the appropriate sections.
    Regards,
    Hedda Cohen.

  • Massive asl files being generated daily?

I have asl files showing up multiple times per day that are GB in size. I have read through forums and tried to stop the process via Terminal, but the files continue to pile up. My computer is running extremely slow and hot due to nearly 100% CPU in use. Please someone help! I'm about to resort to a new computer...this one is basically worthless the way it is now. I'm running 10.5.8.

    Hi Reinhardt,
I am not sure please give it a try, Auto Syndication Task Delay (seconds) Integer.  Default is 0. Check if it helps..
Set it to 0 if you have set any other parameter, see Figure 87. The MDSS-specific Report Detail pane page 279/403
