Auto text can't be deleted

Hi , I have recently faced a problem with my Bold 9700. Few days ago I have updated it to OS 6. Now when I open edit auto text from options. It shows that the ones I have been added are corrupted or something. They make no sense at all neither the abbreviation I put nor the abbreviated words. Plus I tried to delete them I press on delete and they won't go
Please help !
Plus an issue I have faced a message ( input system error. System is being restarted ) every time I type anywhere and now it appears with spelling check. Any ideas ?
Thanks

have you done a backup of the content of your device prior to the upgrade?
If so, you can try opening the Desktop Software, and in the advanced options, restore the autotext database from your PC to the device.

  • How do I turn off the auto text "Can't talk right now...I'll call you later." when I cancel an incoming call?

When someone rings me and I don't want to talk to them I cancel the call. With the new iOS 6 update my phone now automatically sends the caller a text that says "Can't talk right now...I'll call you later."
How do I turn this feature off?? I don't want it!!
Please help I've looked everywhere in my settings.

Could you be a bit more specific?? Which settings?? "about 7 items down" doesn't really tell me much. What is the path?? I.e  settings>messages>etc, etc. as I said above I have checked all the settings.

Generally, you can't but... try sending a text to the person and see if some of their conversation(s) returns.  I've seen this happen a few times.

  • How can I retrieve deleted texts from iPhone 4 with 6. Software?

How can I retrieve old texts that have been deleted?

I would use a program like iExplorer to perusue your backups.
    1. Search for iExplorer, download it, install it.
    2. Plug in your phone
    3. Click continue with Demo on the lower right
    4. On the left side panel select "Browse iTunes Backups"
    5. From here select the iOS device and then click Messages... now you can look through your messages..buying iExplorer will allow you to search your messages.
Also, check out DiskAid, I believe it will let you look through your backups and search may work without purchasing, just understand that both programs will have some limitation in demo mode.

  • I deleted text messages over the last six months, and I want to get them back. I didn't have my I-Phone 4S backed up. Can I still retrieve those texts??  I read somewhere that texts are never really deleted for good.

Is there a way to retrieve all of those deleted text messages??  I read somewhere a while back, that texts are never really deleted permanently. Can't find information on that. Can anyone help please?

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
    See:
    * [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]]
    * [[Troubleshooting plugins]]
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
    * Use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
    * Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

  • Book Module Auto Text not working

AutoText in Page Text does not seem to be working for me. You can see that the caption as Photo Text does appear (towards the top of the image area). The color of the text is black, so it shouldn't be invisible. I'm at a loss.

The second para is simply to add extra pages manually assuming you got the first page looking how you want. The select all text cells usually works with the buttons for above , below justify left, center etc when the cells are highlighted in yellow.
I would suggest experimenting by starting a new collection with say two photos which each contain a caption. If you can get the layout right it’s possible to save it as a preset under the Auto Layout Tab. You click the dropdown menu to the right of the preset name and choose Edit Auto Layout Preset. Then choose your own preset name and save.
You can then drag as many additional images as you wish into the collection and use the auto layout button to fill the book.
On your example highlight the page in yellow. Click the triangle bottom right and change the template from the one photo list i.e. to one with photo above and text below. Use auto text to fill with the caption. To get rid of the caption on top of the photo, if that is what you want, highlight the text cell and press the delete key.
I forgot to mention. If you are looking to place the text which appears on top of the photo below the photo you can copy and paste. Highlight the top text cell and press Ctrl+A followed by Ctrl+C.
Then select page text in the right hand panel and use Ctrl+V in the page text holder. You can then delete the top cell contents and use the offset slider to position the bottom cell.

  • Highlighting Text & Auto Text Options

I've recently migrated from MS Word to Pages, and I'm determined to make this new relationship work. In Word I used its highlighting text (as with a real highlighter--yellow, pink, etc.) feature, as well as its Auto Text feature, in which I had a number of prescribed, hyperlinked comments. (I'm a teacher, and I would auto text things like, "comma error," which would then be linked to a web page about comma errors.
Can anyone help me discover ways to do both of these in Pages? Also, is there anything for Pages like MS Word's macros?
    Thanks in advance,
    Brad Carpenter

    Welcome to the forums, Brad.
There is no direct analogue in Pages to Word's highlighting feature. However, you can use the Comments feature to add specific comments to a specific piece of text (with the advantage that the comments can be easily hidden, since you are not changing the characteristics of the actual text). Simply select a bit of text and click the Comment icon in the toolbar, or from the Insert menu select "Comment". The selected text will highlight in document, and a comments box will appear to the left of the page, in which you can type whatever you want. In the comments box you can select whatever text you want and make it a hyperlink, by going to the Hyperlink Inspector. Unfortunately, there is not an easy way to automate the creation of a hyperlink, at least as far as I know.
There are plenty of third-party applications that will let you store and add snippets of text easily to any Mac document, including Pages. These include TypeIt4Me, Butler, and even Quicksilver, which has a fanatical following and may be more than you need for this kind of task. I'm sure others here might be able to suggest other apps.
One caution, however: If you intend to be sharing documents with others, they must be using Pages themselves to take advantage of these features. Unless your students are also using Pages, these workarounds won't really help.

  • Going insane with Auto Text! Turn off for all things?

Can anyone tell me how to turn the auto text/sure type things off?  It is driving me insane!  I have tried the language options, the sms text options but it still does it and I can't type what I need!  I am fast doing the double tap and would rather do that.
    Thanks,
    Angela

While you are in a text field or an email field use the bb button ( to the left of the trackball) and scroll down to enable multitap and select it.  This will change the setting for you.  Mine jumps to sure type randomly still, but this seems to be the quickest fix.
    Hope this helps!

  • Custom themes: How do I create & edit an auto-text box?

    Hello
Continuing my exploration of custom themes
I have now found out how to make text boxes editable (control-command-option-T, that was carefully hidden!) and am now struggling with creating and editing 'auto text' boxes (not sure what their real name is in Keynote-speak)
    1) Creating new text boxes:
Let's take a simple theme like White. One of the Masters is Title + Bullets Left. Now let's assume I want to create two text boxes with bulllets - the existing on the left and another on the right. In PowerPoint it's pretty simple: highly text box; copy; paste; move & resize as needed. Well Keynote won't let me Copy so that's out. If I create a fresh Text box, I can mimick the indent levels, bullets, font attributes, etc. (long and painful) but it still won't work because it is not a placeholder text box (fixed size) but a regular text box (size depends on content).
    I'm sure I'm missing a trick!
    2) Edit auto-text boxes
Again, take any theme, say White again; If I choose a Master with a set text placement, say Photo Vertical, there is very little I can do with it: I can change text attributes and box size, but I can't touch the number of indentation levels for example. Then again what defines a text box as been 'double click here to edit' from a regular placeholder?
Overall I think I'm missing a whole editing 'avenue' regarding masters - Anyone care to guide me?
    Thanks!

You can set a text field to be multi-line and tick off the option to scroll
long text to have it automatically wrap, but you'll have a problem with the
first partial line, since form fields can only be rectangular. Another
problem might be the lines themselves, since you'll have to use a font size
that will fit them exactly, or it will look odd. I would suggest getting
rid of those lines altogether. They are not needed when filling in the form
electronically. It's a relic from printed out forms where people had to
    hand-write their answers.

  • Why can't I delete or rename files in Word for Mac and other Office programs?

When I try to delete or rename an Office for Mac file, I can't.  How do I delete/rename Word for Mac and other Office for Mac files?

Had this problem for quite a while but found a work-a-round. I click anywhere in the text I want to delete and insert any character. I am then able to block and delete any text I want to. It's been working great.
