Auto tone in Lightroom 3 unusable - have to 'auto tone' the image in CS4 for correct tonal quality.

The 'Auto Tone' in Lightroom 3.2 never gives me the correct tone, that I'm looking for in my image. It'll either make the overall image too dark, or over-brighten it in unrealistic colours.
I always have to go out of Lightroom and edit/auto tone my image in Photoshop CS4, which gets it spot-on just about every time, especially with my studio shoots. In Lightroom 3 the backgound/overall image stays dull looking, while in CS4 it automatically brings out the crisp white of the background.
I also use OnOne PhotoTools 2.53 Professional Edition, where I see the Auto Tone matches CS4 exactly - Lightroom 3 however definitely uses a different algorithm, which is not useful for me at all and makes for much longer editing times.

I'm using the 'Image -> Auto Tone' function directly within CS4 - I'm not using the ACR window through CS4.
I see that CS4 can no longer be updated with the latest ACR (6.2), although obviously Lightroom 3 can still be updated. Maybe this is where the 'different auto tone results' come in. Maybe the latest version of ACR is not as compatible to my image requirements, as the previous editon with CS4 was.
Anyhow, to recap, I use 'Auto Tone' straight in CS4, with preferable results over that in LR3. I'm not sure what an effect ACR has over the 'auto tone' functionality in both these versions.
I definitely do however want to post this question in the Adobe Technical Support section - thanks for that.

The problem with write permissions for the OneDrive folder only shows up in Lightroom 6's export dialogue, that's why it's to irritating. Lightroom 5.7.1 is not having that problem nor does the file explorer. The problem also exists on both of my machines. The iPhone has Activation Lock and will require you to have the previous owner's Apple ID and password or you'll need to get the previous owner to remove the device from his/her iCloud account:

If you can't reach the previous owner or he/she is unwilling to cooperate, then the device is unusable by you. Return the iPhone for a refund if you can.

@Naiks, having suffered through unsuccessful synching attempts for Calendar and Contacts myself, l would suggest you try the following:
UNINSTALL iCloud control panel from your PC. Seems silly, but do it.
Go into Outlook, and look at the very top menu. Click FILE, then ACCOUNT SETTINGS, then click the popup box.
You will see a list of all your email accounts. Make sure that ONE of them has a checkmark against it. If not, select the account your want as your default, and click "set as default.
Exit out of Outlook and reboot your machine.
Now reinstall iCloud, check CALENDAR and CONTACTS, and do as instructed when prompted.
Reboot for good luck and now launch OUTLOOK. All that remains is to locate your iCloud Contacts and Calendar files, and make them your default.
IMPORTANT: Don't panic if you can't find your contacts -- they're there. Click CONTACTS and you'll see you have several available contact files. Locate the one label "iCloud" in grey type. Right-click on it, select PROPERTIES, then click the Outlook Address Book tab. Check the box that says something like "Make this my default Outlook Address Book." Keep clicking "apply" and "okay" until you've exited out of the dialog box maze.
You may have to do something similar with your Calendar files. I dd not, but if you need to, do it.
Everything should now sync pretty seamlessly.
I didn't have the exact same problem as you, but my dilemma was close enough. Good luck!

I upgraded to Maverick OS X 10.9.5, numbers spreadsheet is saved. Upon re-opening, it appears to be frozen, a warning "file is invalid as index.xml file is missing". I checked, and the file is not "locked". This appears to occur only with using the new numbers app. When I open previous spreadsheets from old iWorks, no such problem occurs.
How did you resolve your problem?
Would appreciate any help here.

Photoshop CC needs at least OSX 10.7-10.9
You may be able to install and run it on 10.6.8, but as I understand it the rules for generating thumbnails has changed with Apple and CC writes them to suit the required OSX.
Photoshop CS6 will always give you image thumbnails but CC and CC 2014 have had thumbnails generated differently for the required OSX.
You will have to upgrade to 10.7,10.8, or 10.9

I think it means "the sliders are all 0 so painting adjustments with this brush won't change anything." In other words, move one of the sliders to a non-zero position, for example Exposure from 0 to 1.0, and then see what happens. You can edit the brush and change it to do something other than Exposure +1.

What you are looking for is only available for iOS 5 and above. You will need to connect your iPhone to a computer and update through iTunes as always.

My videos in lightroom 3.3 do not match the image in the flimstrip

I believe I have messed up the library catalog by going into a folder and changed images using windows explorer (outside lightroom). I messed up the library to where the thumbnail for the videos are not related to the video that plays and I don't know how to correct it. Any help would be awesome.

Press "H".
When using the Radial Filter, there are various options using the "Show Edit Pins" menu at the bottom of the image. Pressing the "H" keys toggles between "Never" (likely what you have) and "Auto" (which shows the pins and the elipse when the mouse is over the images, but hides them when you move the mouse off the image). There are other options as well, experiment with them to get to your preferred display state.
These same display options are also in the Gradient tool and the Adjustment Brush.

Lightroom 3.4 don't show the images in the correct colour.

You have to make sure that you are not comparing apples to oranges..
In order to evaluate the colors you have to make sure that two conditions are met:
a) your monitor needs to be calibrated, and
b) the image needs to be viewed in the same color space.
Color space: LR displays every image in ProPhoto RGB - and there is no provision to change that -, wheras other programs (except image editing programs) often display images either in sRGB or they are not color managed at all.
So what makes you think that what you call the "Original" shows the right color? In which program were you viewing it? Is this program color managed? And which color space does it use? And you cannot go by the display of your camera either; they are often wrong.
In all likelihood it is LR that displays the correct color.
