The air-cards that several neighbors and I used for "high speed" was getting slower by the week.   Verizon recommended the MIFI unit as 3G service is somewhat nearby and we could use the window antennas from the air cards with the MIFI to get better service.
All four of us are unhappy for various reasons including:
We have to pull the batteries out every night to keep the unit from overheating and to really shut it and the Blinking light OFF.
We thought that once the unit was connected for the day that it would stay connected.  Wrong.  The icon shows the unit to be connected and with excellent signal strength and the wireless connection says it is connected,  But the MIFI has to be reset numerous times a day for it to be truly connected.  Otherwise, the "IE can not display the page" message appears for every web site we try.
We thought we were really free to be anywhere in the house, deck or yard to use the computer and other devices..  Instead, we aren't free from anything with the constant going to the unit for the resetting process.  Or we carry it with us and the battery goes dead long before we are done working.
And the service is only a little faster than the aircard for all the grief and despite what the Verizon service area maps say,
Wouldn't recommend it and wish we hadn't made the change.

  • Majority of Apps released are being reviewed/released the same day?

    Check this out:
    http://www.medialets.com/app-store-metrics/feeds/new/
If you look at the release dates (when they get submitted), they are generally the same day that they hit the AppStore.
I verified this by looking at one of my apps, and the "release date" was the same day I submitted it. However it showed up in the app store (10 days later) .. therefore I believe that the release date is actually accurate.
    What does this mean?
I believe it means that most apps that hit the appstore are getting churned out the same day. If you don't get released on the same day, you might be in for a very long wait, or there is something wrong with you / your app.
    Some ideas:
    - App that is uninteresting to the reviewers
    - It's your second+ app
    - Bad reviews / low popularity for existing apps
    - Problems with the App
It's an interesting problem. It's unclear to me that there is a solution, except to write high quality, innovative, interesting apps that your pretty sure Apple will like and will get reviewed well / be popular .. which I suppose, isn't such a bad thing, all considered.

My first app took 8 days to go from review to pending contract. It's been pending contract for 3 days now.
I find it unlikely a lot of apps are getting to the store in 1 day.

This contradicts your whole point I think. If your app took 10 days from the release/submit date then why do you think so many apps are going to the store the day they are submitted. Maybe I'm misunderstanding your statement.

  • MRP auto creating and batching releases

Using standard functionality it's possible for standard Oracle processes to automatically create PO Releases within the Release_Time_Fence_Days. We want to use this functionality, but, the answer it provided was inappropriate.
The main issue is that if there are two MRP Planned Orders for different days and the Delivery Calendar indicates that they will both be delivered on the same day, the result is that two PO Releases are generated rather than one?
This makes it difficult for the Receiving staff who would have to book material in against different releases; doubly awkward if the material was delivered all at the same time.
Does anyone know of a way to sum/group the releases at all (by vendor/part/dock date)?
    Regards,
    Bren

    Dear
Are you dealing with Single vendor  where you want Multiple Schedule Line item through single PR  which should be generated through MRP run ??
What you will have to do is to set up the Outline Agreement or Info Record for your vendor and material and then create the source record for this vendor- material relationship and make sure that this source record is set as MRP relevant. Once MRP is run, the vendor is automatically defaulted to your PRs. If in your material master, you have defined the same purchasing group for various material numbers, then with Transaction ME59, it is feasible that you can combine various PRs of the same purchasing group by flagging onto the 'Per Purchasing Group' indicator checkbox. Make a trial test and let me know how it goes.
Or you can use Qouta arrabgement in that case for different vendor .Please refer : Multiple Requisition  line itme for Quota arrangement
    Just check and revert

  • HPLIP auto install: does it work?

I just bought an HP printer. Then I was installing HPLIP during 2.5 days; more than expected. (Needless to say I was cursing HP the last day). Now I am happy to succeed, but I also feel that it was a good luck. I think this story should be shared.
I am a Linux user since 1998, of rather low geekness. Almost always I use precompiled binaries. Thus I hoped to use auto install (and ultimately did). Last years I use Debian.
It seems I understand now the origin of the problem. People of hplipopensource.com take the current release of Debian (among other distros), and adapt auto-installer to this release. After that, Debian people include this new version of auto-installer to the next release of Debian. And so on. As a result, the auto-installer never works! It always complains that this release is not supported yet.
I installed Debian 7.1 from my (somewhat old) DVDs. I instructed the installer not to use any network mirror. Do not laugh, this is essential. (When I did otherwise, I got Debian 7.4 instead of 7.1 - not supported yet...) According to this Debian release, the Installation Wizard gave me auto-installer 'hplip-3.14.1.run'. Running it I got a message: "Disable the CD sources in your apt sources list". Frankly, I use Synaptic rather than apt. Well, I've found this /etc/apt/sources.list and commented out all CD sources. Running hplip again I saw that it fails to install even gcc. Well, no wonder: no network mirror. I added a network mirror. The rest was rather easy.
So, I got the impression that a not-so-geeky Linux user, like me, have some positive, but rather small probability to pass through all timing conditions before selling his/her new HP printer. Indeed, if Linux is quite new, it is not yet supported. If it is a bit older than needed, a new hplip fails for this reason, while an old hplip does not support the brand new printer (I guess so; I did not try). And most importantly: the hplip site tells me that
Debian 7.1 supplies HPLIP 3.12.6 and it does support your printer.
As the version of HPLIP supplied with your operating system supports your printer, you may continue to use that version of HPLIP.
That is true; but it forgets to add that my distro contains an outdated version; it just does not work. What a catch!
Or maybe I am naive somehow? Others seem to feel better. What do I miss?
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

Wow, it does work, the HPLIP auto install!
    See my session below.
The following five points appeared to be critical for me.
    1. The hplip site says:
"Debian 7.1 supplies HPLIP 3.12.6 and it does support your printer. As the version of HPLIP supplied with your operating system supports your printer, you may continue to use that version of HPLIP". No, do not believe. Download the last version (in my case, hplip-3.14.1.run), later called "XXX.run".
    2. Ensure that your repositories contain no CD/DVD (the auto-installer will warn you), and do contain "main" and "contrib" (the auto-installer will not warn you); "non-free" is not needed. I did it via Synaptic Package manager (Settings->Repositories).
    3. Run the XXX.run file by a command line "sh XXX.run" issued in the terminal window under GUI (not the console). Do not be root, and do not use "sudo". Rather, you need to know the root password.
    4. You'll get an error message like this: "error: debian-7.4 version is not supported, so all dependencies may not be installed. However trying to install using debian-7.2 version packages".
Do not bother too much; in my case this was harmless. Answer "y".
    5. The final error message "RuntimeWarning: PyOS_InputHook is not available for interactive use of PyGTK set_interactive(1)" is also harmless.
    After the message
"PRINTER SETUP. Please make sure your printer is connected and powered on at this time"
you should get a graphical panel
"HP Device Manager - Setup. Device discovery".
Do the needed choice (in my case, USB), click "Next". You should get another graphical panel
"HP Device Manager - Plug-in Installer. Driver Plug-in Installation".
Choose "Download", click "Next" and be patient; in my case it took 5 minutes, with no visible progress. Next graphical panel:
"Driver Plug-in License agreement". Browse it to the end, click "Agree"; observe message "Plug-in installation successful", click "OK".
The last graphical panel: "HP Device Manager - Setup. Setup Device". Mark "Send test page", click "add printer" and hope for the best.

  • OSPF Equal Cost (multiple links) but unbalanced traffic

    Hi!
I would like to ask about OSPF.
We are using 4 links running OSPF point to point with equal cost to load balance MPLS L2 traffic between our two routers.
And from what we are experiencing right now is that it didnt balance the load the way it should have.
The first link always catches up the bulk of the traffic, while the remaining 3 links load balances, I would like to inquire on steps to mitigate the issue.
Appreciate if I could receive some help to solve the issue
Thank you very much  in advance!
    Best Regards,
    asakurahao

I do have almost the same problem.
i have 2 x 20 Mbps Point to Point ethernet links configured with equal ospf cost and both links terminated on the single router at both ends.
    interface FastEthernet0/0/0
     bandwidth 20000
     ip address x.x.x.x y.y.y.y
     load-interval 30
     duplex auto
     speed auto
     traffic-shape rate 20000000 500000 500000 1000
    interface FastEthernet0/0/1
     bandwidth 20000
     ip address x.x.x.x y.y.y.y
     load-interval 30
     duplex auto
     speed auto
     traffic-shape rate 20000000 500000 500000 1000
FastEthernet0/0/0 is up, line protocol is up
      Internet Address 135.254.193.53/30, Area 0.0.0.1
Process ID 3435, Router ID 135.254.0.95, Network Type BROADCAST, Cost: 5
FastEthernet0/0/1 is up, line protocol is up
      Internet Address 135.254.193.45/30, Area 0.0.0.1
Process ID 3435, Router ID 135.254.0.95, Network Type BROADCAST, Cost: 5
I see majority of the traffic using the link F0/0/0 and only 30% traffic using the second link F0/0/1.
I used per-packet load-sharing on these interfaces which caused throughput problems, so i removed that from the interface. Should i add some CEF commands or should try per-destination load sharing to see equal traffic on both links ?

I can appreciate a technical information about how can I configure WCCP for the comunication between the Catalyst 4507 with Sup II+ with the WAE 474.
I probed with other router instead the catalyst 4507 and the configuration and communication were succesfully; that was for verify posible error of configuration on WAEs; but the final objetive is to use the catalyst 4507R.

  • Problem in Creation of Content versions

    Dear Friends,
As I know we can create many content versions, when it is activated.
I have a doc. type ZAC with KPRo checked, and all statuses associated are checked with content version. I am using the workstation application MS word (DOX) in which content version as well as additional files has been checked
Statuses defined for ZAc doc. type - Submission ; review ; released
I have defined workstation apllication in network for DOX
    PC     DOX     1     Winword 2007     %SAP-OFFICE-INTEGRATION.INPLACE%
    PC     DOX     2     Winword 2007     %SAP-OFFICE-INTEGRATION.OUTPLACE%
    PC     DOX     3     Winword 2007     %SAP-OFFICE-INTEGRATION.INPLACE% %MAXSIZE%
    I created DIR.
Changed to new statusu2026and moved to storage category, it prompted for log field, given. When I am viewing Original it prompted permissions / with stop protection etc (using MS office 2007) . Clicked on stop protection and did changes. The changes were not considered in originals. No new content version created.
    I have created another DIR.
Not stored in storage category. Open the DIR in change mode,  select the originals on origianl tab,  click on check in as new version, entered log field. After selecting orinals, when I right click I am getting options: check in ; check in as ..;  check in as new version. No changes in Word document recorded. No new content version created.
    I have created 3rd DIR.
Not stored in storage category. Open the DIR in change mode,  select the originals on origianl tab, change the tab and changed the status. No changes in Word document recorded. No new content version created.
Did I miss any steps ? Why I couldn't able to make new content version?
    Regards,
    Sai Krishna

    Hi Pradeep,
I have tried the same way. It didn't work for me.
    Can you clarify the following:
    1. If we want to make content version does the document to be check in or not ?
    2. Does we need to store the outside SAP & save as new one ?
I go to CV02N, Originlal is not check in, open the originals, it open in SAP . Edited, saved the transaction.
    No changes saved.
Then go to CV02N one more time done changes, changed status, clicked on check in as new version, then also changes didn't save.
Can u explain me where I am missing ?
    Regards,
    Sai Krishna

Your database has relatively high logical I/O at 42,976 reads per second. Logical Reads includes data block reads from both memory and disk. High LIO is sometimes associated with high CPU activity. CPU bottlenecks occur when the CPU run queue exceeds the number of CPUs on the database server, and this can be seen by looking at the "r" column in the vmstat UNIX/Linux utility or within the Windows performance manager. Consider tuning your application to reduce unnecessary data buffer touches (SQL Tuning or PL/SQL bulking), using faster CPUs or adding more CPUs to your system.
You are performing more than 15,666 disk reads per second. High disk latency can be caused by too-few physical disk spindles. Compare your read times across multiple datafiles to see which datafiles are slower than others. Disk read times may be improved if contention is reduced on the datafile, even though read times may be high due to the file residing on a slow disk. You should identify whether the SQL accessing the file can be tuned, as well as the underlying characteristics of the hardware devices.
Check your average disk read speed later in this report and ensure that it is under 7ms. Assuming that the SQL is optimized, the only remaining solutions are the addition of RAM for the data buffers or a switch to solid state disks. Give careful consideration these tablespaces with high read I/O: TS_CCPS, TS_OTHERS, TS_AC_POSTED03, TS_RATING, TS_GP.
You have more than 1,222 unique SQL statements entering your shared pool, with the resulting overhead of continuous RAM allocation and freeing within the shared pool. A hard parse is expensive because each incoming SQL statement must be re-loaded into the shared pool; with the associated overhead involved in shared pool RAM allocation and memory management. Once loaded, the SQL must then be completely re-checked for syntax & semantics and an executable generated. Excessive hard parsing can occur when your shared_pool_size is too small (and reentrant SQL is paged out) or when you have non-reusable SQL statements without host variables. See the cursor_sharing parameter for an easy way to make SQL reentrant and remember that you should always use host variables in you SQL so that they can be reentrant.

    2 Recommendations:
Your Buffer Hit ratio is 69.13%. The buffer hit ratio measures the probability that a data block will be in the buffer cache upon a re-read of the data block. If your database has a large number of frequently referenced table rows (a large working set), then investigate increasing your db_cache_size. For specific recommendations, see the output from the data buffer cache advisory utility (using the v$db_cache_advice utility). Also, a low buffer hit ratio is normal for applications that do not frequently re-read the same data blocks. Moving to SSD will alleviate the need for a large data buffer cache.
Your shared pool maybe filled with non-reusable SQL with 95.04% memory usage. The Oracle shared poolcontains Oracle´s library cache, which is responsible for collecting, parsing, interpreting, and executing all of the SQL statements that go against the Oracle database. You can check the dba_hist_librarycache table in Oracle10g to see your historical library cache RAM usage.

You have high network activity with 390.6 SQL*Net roundtrips to/from client per second, which is a high amount of traffic. Review your application to reduce the number of calls to Oracle by encapsulating data requests into larger pieces (i.e. make a single SQL request to populate all online screen items). In addition, check your application to see if it might benefit from bulk collection by using PL/SQL "forall" or "bulk collect" operators.
You have 3,931.5 consistent gets examination per second. "Consistent gets - examination" is different than regular consistent gets. It is used to read undo blocks for consistent read purposes, but also for the first part of an index read and hash cluster I/O. To reduce logical I/O, you may consider moving your indexes to a large blocksize tablespace. Because index splitting and spawning are controlled at the block level, a larger blocksize will result in a flatter index tree structure.
You have high update activity with 446.0 db block changes per second. The DB block changes are a rough indication of total database work. This statistic indicates (on a per-transaction level) the rate at which buffers are being dirtied and you may want to optimize your database writer (DBWR) process. You can determine which sessions and SQL statements have the highest db block changes by querying the v$session and v$sessatst views.
You have high disk reads with 15,666.7 per second. Reduce disk reads by increasing your data buffer size or speed up your disk read speed by moving to SSD storage. You can monitor your physical disk reads by hour of the day using AWR to see when the database has the highest disk activity.
You have high small table full-table scans, at 81.6 per second. Verify that your KEEP pool is sized properly to cache frequently referenced tables and indexes. Moving frequently-referenced tables and indexes to SSD or theWriteAccelerator will significantly increase the speed of small-table full-table scans.

You are not using large blocksizes for your index tablespaces. Oracle research proves that indexes will build flatter tree structures in larger blocksizes.

  • Cisco ASA 5505 and PAT

So I have a weird problem that I'm hoping someone has a point in the right direction I can follow... At home I have a Cisco ASA 5505 - not very complex network some BCP configs and it's providing a NAT (PAT). I have a static IP and using a few RFC 1918 segments - like I said nothing earth shattering. I have a linksys E1200 802.11N WPA2 PSK - again pretty standard. I connect laptops, iPads, iPhones, Kindles, Androids no problem. Until recently my 60" Vizio had no issues using the network (wired or wireless). Now network is failing on the TV. I see it get to the FW and I can ping trace etc... to the TV. The FW logs show resets (log is below).
Now here is the real interesting part - if I turn the tether feature on my iPhone on and connect the TV to it - it works - what's even more interesting is if I then go back to the home network it all works again no problem until I reboot the TV... HELP!

    Hello ras,
As you mentioned the TV is sending a reset packet to the remote address. I will recommend you to create a capture of the traffic and review the traffic at the packet level to see a posible reason for the drop.
Here is how. Then you can download it to pcap format and uploaded to the forum for further analysis.

  • Item having 0 price is going through credit check

    Hi,
    We are facing following issue-
Our sales order is having multiple line items including a line item which creates network.
When we enter the line items with price in sales order, the sales order goes into credit check. Then we review & release the sales order from credit check.
Then we enter the item which creates network. This item is having 0 price (Not relevant for pricing). However, when we enter this line item, sales order is going again in credit check.
Ideally since this item is not relevant for pricing, SAP should not again put credit block.
    Have anybody faced similar issue?
    Appreciate your help in advance,
    Shashi

    Hi Shashi,
Please check whether the "credit check" is active for the item category used for creating network. This setting is there in item category configuration. We faced the similar issue and when we removed the credit check from item category, the issue got resolved.
    Thank you,
    Shirish

  • Is it possible to delay a rolling upgrade after a single domain is updated?

    Hello,
I am working on new Azure services for my group. For various reasons, we have decided that a Staging / VIP-Swap deployment is not useful for our group and will be going with a rolling upgrade. What I am interested in, is knowing if there is a way to
"pause" a rolling upgrade after the first update domain until it is released to complete. Or, for a set time ( 30 minutes, etc ), to allow us the opportunity to essentially have a A-B deployment of our webrole, to observe behavior while receiving
production traffic before the release has completely deployed.
    Thanks for your help
    Jeff

    hello Jeff,
Currently, base on my experience, delay a rolling upgrade or "pause" a rolling upgrade after the first update domain until it is released to complete, it may be difficult. I suggest you could can submit a feature suggestion on
http://www.mygreatwindowsazureidea.com/forums/34192-windows-azure-feature-voting. I suggest you could get more detail about upgrade domain and fault domain (http://blog.toddysm.com/2010/04/upgrade-domains-and-fault-domains-in-windows-azure.html).
    Best Regards,

Can you just setup an Excel/Essbase retrieval to get the data you need? You can't use SQL to query Essbase; here is a blog post that talks about it:
    http://timtows-hyperion-blog.blogspot.com/2008/01/why-you-cant-use-sql-to-query-essbase.html
Since I made that post, I have found out that Essbase has now been integrated into the latest version of the Oracle BI Server and, technically, you could use SQL to query the data in Essbase via the Oracle BI Server if you have the right version.

  • Batches not getting  for order components at time of order creation

    Hi Folks,
My requirement is that when I create a production order and save automatic batch determination should take place for all components. For this I have done all the settings for eg
    1) Assigment of batch search proceduree to order type
    2) Define batch search strategy, procedure , condition , access sequence
    3) Create batch strategy record for order type/ plant/component by COB1
    4) Create sort rule and assign to batch strategy record
    5) Batch classification is there and value of the sort chracteristic is populated in all batches
    6) There is enough available stock in the batch at that storage location
But batch field is not getting populated .. Even if I press the batch determintion button manually
on the component overview screen batch selection screen is appearing but no batches are getting determined for selection .I have checked the selection criteria and it is correct and I was expecting batch 'ZSWETA' to b determined as it is satisfying the selection criteria. I am really wondering why this is happening as I have done all the required config settings but batch determination is not happening..
Can you please help me out of this...
    Regards
    Suchandra

    Hi,
    kindly check the following things-:
Material master -: Purchasing View tick in check box of Batch Management
MRP 2 -:Batch Entry(Select 3-Auto Batch entry on Release)
Work Scheduling -: Batch Entry & Batch Management.
hope it will help you to get the auto Batch Number.
