Auto updated firefox on OS X but missing "open in 32-bit mode" check box in firefox 'get info'. How do I change firefox to open in 32-bit mode without the checkbox available?

After long phone call with apple support the thing that seemed to work was:
make a new user.
Copying the itunes app from the new user’s Application folder to the shared folder.
Then open up your old user account and copy it over the old itunes app.

Just updated to itunes 12.1.0.71 - big problem - can no longer access the legacy "Get Info" where you could change multiple files, easily add artwork, add album name for TV show, and much more. In previous iTunes 12 you'd right click and hold shift key and be able to get to it. Anyone figured this out?

The "legacy" metadata editors, for which there was a "back door" in iTunes 12.0, have gone from 12.1. However, the revised editors in 12.1 provide access to (almost) all the metadata elements that were available in iTunes 11, albeit in a different layout and with some additional constraints based on media kind. Some users have / will have an issue with the statement that "Get Info has been completely redesigned in iTunes 12 to focus your attention only on what’s necessary for the selected item" since that removes some metadata elements that people may have been using in creative ways. iTunes 12.1 basically gives you access to the fields that Apple think are necessary ... . Some of the things that have been excluded by this rule:
track and disc number fields for video media kinds
show and episode fields for music
description tab for audiobooks made up of more than one file
Obviously the first two examples can be regarded as "overloading" the metadata elements - i.e., using them in ways that the designers didn't intend - but given that some users do find valid cases for this it's a shame that they've been deprecated in the new UI. There are couple of workarounds:
in songs view (or any of the other columnar views), you can still select any fields to display, independent of media kind, and these can be edited (though only one at a time) by double-clicking in the relevant "cell"
you can (temporarily) change the media kind of an item (or group of items) to get access to metadata elements that would otherwise be inaccessible.
It may be worth submitting an issue via https://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html - I can't see it as a huge development task to have a user preference to switch between "show all fields" and "filter fields based on media kind".
One other oddity/irritation is that some of the tabs don't, by default, show all the available fields - you need to scroll up/down to access them or to expand the window by dragging on one of its corners. Fortunately, the latter seems to be persistent - once you've done this to make all the fields visible the editor will open at the same (larger) size when opened again.

...to set Google's default date range to "past year" under ALL circumstance. Open from desktop, open in newtab, and default to "past year" when opening a second time from Google's top toolbar.
I'm 2/3 there. That last one has me stumped.
There might be a more elegant overall fix to this problem. A single plugin perhaps. If anyone is aware of such please let me/us know. There appear to be many complex regedit and recoding suggestions, but I cannot/will-not go that deep into this just to fix this eminently simple shortcoming of Firefox/Google.
I tried the Google forums to no avail. Google, and it's forum members, just flat out do not have anything to offer here. The simplest remedy ought to be on their end but unfortunately it does not appear to be at all forthcoming.
So I got halfway there via re-setting the home page in Firefox's Tools...Options...General...

This defaults Google's date range to "past year" every time Google is opened from Firefox's desktop icon. 'y' can be changed to 'w' 'm' etc for week, month, etc. Default to year just works for 90 percent of my own searches.
Further, I pasted the same URL into Firefox's about:config values line for...

This enables the same "past year" defaulted Google home page to open with every new tab. That may not be for everyone, but that's my preference as well.
If I decide I need a shorter or deeper date range I can still drop down the box and choose it to override the default.... same as before..... it's just that the new default is "past year" instead of "anytime". All is good, almost.

I went back and navigated to a new Google home page by opening it from the desktop and then navigating to "images" and then back again to "search" and discovered, to my dismay, that it still opened the Google search page with "anytime" defaulted.
Soooooo.... can anyone guide me over this last hurdle?

You can create a searchplugins folder in the Firefox Profile Folder and copy the google.xml file from that same folder in the Firefox program folder to that folder and rename the file to something like google-year.xml "Google (Year)".
This is better then to edit the original files
You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:

You need to open the file in a plain text editor and change the shortname and description and add (Year) like "Google (Year)"<br />
Then you need to extend the Param line and append the code to add the tbs=qdr:y param.<br />
You should do this in all three sections (suggestion, keyword search, context search).

Then you should see an extra search engine in you click the search engine icon on the location bar that shows the results from the past year.
Make a backup copy of the file, so you can easily restore this file if you ever need a new profile.

PHP check boxes not sending info to DB? what am i missing

I have a checkbox that needs to stay checked but for some reason it isnt staying check as it is not passing the information to the database.
once the check is check it then directs to a new page

Try starting Firefox in Safe Mode (Firefox Safe Mode, not Windows Safe Mode).

I need to open FireFox 12.0 (on Mac Lion) in 32-bit mode. That option to restart in 32-bit doesn't exist under "Get Info" or anywhere. Your help please, Thanks!

The option to start in 32-bit mode is available in Safari. But Firefox 12.0 doesn't seem to even have it. Is it possible to upload an earlier version of Firefox? I need to be able to do this, the inability is actually interfering with work that I do to earn my living, so time is of the essence. Thanks for any help/guidance the community can offer.

Thank you, but that option doesn't seem to exist. I have attached a screen shot of the Get Info window, and I have been unable to locate the "Restart in 32-bit" option on it. It used to be right above the "locked" checkbox.

I love new updates; I read the information, but missed that Dashland, as with last update, does not work. Can't live without it. I've updated. Now, what to do?

Last update clearly informed me that Dashlane did not work with the update. I read the information this morning before downloading and did not see that once again, Dashlane will not work. I must have access to my passwords. Do I have any recourse other than re-installing the last version of Firefox? Or, using Safari in the interim so I can use iCloud to reveal passwords?

Like my aubj line says, I had just downloaded AdobeAir, getting ready to close everything down and I get a last second Adobe box saying I needed to update to 10.1.01. I just updated everything but it mentions security updates so I download it. It takes every bit of about 20 micro seconds, literally flash down! I don't like the look or utility of Firefox 5.0. I miss the addons that I had in the earlier version. How do I go back to a previous version?

Since I upgraded to FF5, I have found it difficult to acclimate myself to the new look. The Home button is moved and I can't move it back, for instance. The refresh button is in a different place. These things make the newer version awkward to use. Also, I had certain add-ons, specifically one that automatically opened my Home Page whenever I opened a new tab, that I especially miss. Is it possible for me to use the earlier version of Firefox that I had before this one? I know that you think you improved your product, and maybe you did in some unknown fashion, but Henry Ford said almost 80 years ago that "change for the sake of change is not progress".

To downgrade to Firefox 3.6 first uninstall Firefox 4, but do not select the option to "Remove my Firefox personal data". If you select that option it will delete your bookmarks, passwords and other user data.
You can then install the latest version of Firefox 3.6 available from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html - it will automatically use your current bookmarks, passwords etc.
To avoid possible problems with downgrading, I recommend going to your profile folder and deleting the following files if they exist - extensions.cache, extensions.rdf, extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite and localstore.rdf. Deleting these files will force Firefox to rebuild the list of installed extensions, checking their compatibility, and reset toolbar customizations.

I am having this same problem. I took Kappy advice on restarting the Apple Mobile Device Service, however that did not work. I got this message in a pop up window that came up immediately.
Windows could not start the Apple Mobil Device Service on local computer.
Error 1053 The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.
I have already uninstalled itunes, all the related programs and I cannot reinstall, this Apple Mobil Device message stops the install.
