AutoBLocking Bug on Ipod Touch

Hi, I have a big problem with my new ipod touch.
If I set autoblock = 1 min, I have a big problem.
In that case, after a minute it's blocking, then goes in stand by.
When I press On/Off button, I can se the apple but is not "lighted" (sorry for my bad english :))
So I must do an hard reset (2 times).
Now i'm trying to block ipod manually, without autblock(in general setting).
After 20mins Ipod boot off, I press On/Off button and its starting normally, for now.
Can some1 confirm this?
THX

I didn't fully understand you, but I will express what I thought you meant.
When you set your iPod to 'Auto Lock' with the '1 minute' option, your iPod locks out, goes to standby, then displays the apple start logo without a backlight?
Is that correct?

Try to do a hard reboot (no data is lost) by holding down the home and power buttons at the same time untilyou see the Apple logo. Then, let go of both buttons. If that doesn't work, try restoring your iPod and do NOT restore from a backup. This will erase your data, but you can sync back everything except app data and settings from iTunes.

  • Okay, the iTunes 8.2 bug that I had on my iPod Touch is back with my iPhone

I have new iPhone 3GS that I picked up this morning at 7 am. I love it, but the iTunes 8.2 bug that is being thoroughly discussed in the iPod Touch forum is back and affecting my iPhone 3GS. I did read one random post that a Apple Tech Support person said to unplug the internet (disconnect your internet) before plugging it in. I don't know why, but it worked and makes me wonder if this will also work for iPod Touch users. Weird, but it is definitely a nice work around for now!

I got it again. I plug in the iPhone into my computer and it is telling that it thinks it is a camera because it is trying to launch Canon CameraWindow, MS scanner, Picasa3, etc. Then iTunes says, "An iPhone has been detected, but it could not be identified properly. Please, disconnect and reconnect the iPhone, then try again." Yes, I tried again, and completely uninstalled iTunes and all things Apple to only re-install it. I am at my whits end again!

  • IPod touch (5th gen) has a hardly any of my music on it while iTunes says it has all the songs on I put on it. WHAT EVIL IS THIS? Help me slay is horrible bug.

I just got this thing for my birthday after having two 160GB classics stolen in a row and I'm beyond stoked to have my music back. It worked great for a few days and after putting some music on one day, I ejected (safely) it and then unplugged it. NO MUSIC ON THE IPOD.I plug it back in frantically and see that ALL THE MUSIC I put on IS STILL ON THE DEVICE according to ITUNES. However when I open up that sweet music app I've got about 15 songs. My heart has been crushed and another apple product has done be dirty. I have faith in this 4 day old device still. Please help me before I smash it up and throw a piece at every apple store.
Additional info - I just downloaded the new iTunes (12.1) Maybe then new version is Satan in disguise. The new red logo is pretty convincing however, it was only after I used 12.1 that this happened. It would surprise me the latest and greatest version shorts me. Please help me get my music working again so I can stop complaining about Apple products for awhile.

Yep the problem is with the new iTunes update (12.1.0.50 for the Mac version, I don't recall the number of the Windows version) and the worst part is that I don't think there's a way to solve the problem except for waiting for the next update hoping it will correct this bug.
It happened to me too, and to many other users: every time I try to sync the device (I use a 4th gen iPod touch), all of the songs get deleted. I have to put sync them all again (and I have a HUGE number of songs, so it's extremely annoying).
I tried putting in DFU mode, safe starting, restoring both from backup and as a new iPod on many computers, but nothing of that solved the problem.
I spoke to an Apple technician but he knew nothing about it, he suggested me there was a problem with my computer (that's impossible, it's brand new, and the problem occurs on other computers too! What's the chance of having the same damage on two different machines - a Mac and a PC - at the same time?)
Finally, I noticed that if I sync my iPod on a computer with an older version of iTunes the problem doesn't happen.
All of this was nearly a month ago... still no updates :\

  • IPod Touch skips (jumps to the end of) the first track. Bug?

    Hello,
I'm experiencing the following problem with my iPod Touch and was unable to find any information about similar cases in different forums:
I have several Audible.de audiobooks on my iPod that are by default listed under "audiobooks". Recently I noticed that sometimes my Touch would jump over the first track of a music album when I would start playing the first song, directly jumping to the end of the track and starting to play the second (while the status dot stays at the end of track 1 for a while). It looks as if I had fast forwarded to the very end of the first track - and it happens with the first track only.
I've removed all the music and books from my Touch and moved it back using iTunes, but this didn't help for long. If I completely turn off the Touch and turn it back on, the problem is solved for a moment. I kept asking myself why the problem would reoccur and it seems to me that it has to do with the audiobooks I'm listening to often. I tried the following:
    1. Switched off and on. Listened to music without any title jumping problem.
    2. Opened an audiobook and listened to it for a few seconds.
    3. Went back to music (any album) - the Touch jumps over the first track.
This leads me to believe that listening to audiobooks (maybe just audible audiobooks) creates this problem.
I also found out that after starting to play the first track (which gets immediately jumped over or, more exactly, to its very end), I can "heal" the Touch (until I listen to an audiobook again) by pressing Pause, then the back arrow twice so that I jump to the beginning of the first track, then back to the album cover and track list. After that, I can listen to music as long as I want to without any skipping or jumping, as long as I don't play an audiobook.
To me, this sounds like a bug, but I can't tell if Audible or Apple is to blame. Besides, I don't see an easy way to contact Apple about a bug that might be related to their OS, which I find upsetting (they hide their contact adresses so well that you can't tell them about bugs in their own software, or you have to pay for expensive calls?).
Maybe someone knows what to do or has already heard about a similar problem. I try to circumvent a complete reset of my iPod, as I have lots of apps that are arranged into many different groups. I'd prefer not to sort all of them again, but if resetting the iPod seems to be the only possible solution, I would try that of course. Of course I'd appreciate if someone could tell me how to fix this or whom to contact about it.
Thanks (also for reading this long description),
    Alex

    Hi MikeSpike,
Thanks for your comment! Have you tried everything to resolve it, like resetting the iPod as a new device after deleting the IPSW from your computer first? Does the error still occur?
In fact, I cannot reproduce the problem using podcasts (they work fine for me, as far as I can tell there's no effect between podcast and music on my device), but it may very well be that the error is the same or a similar one (this would be for Apple to investigate, I'll forward parts of your comment to the Apple Advisor taking care of my case, if you agree).
Yes, it is the first track. Although I had one rare occasion where only track 2 was skipped and another one where tracks it happened to tracks 1 and 2 (no shuffle, no remember position activated), the highly reproducible issue touches track # 1 only.
Thanks for precising that you're using a BT headset. Could you please tell me which one, in case that matters? Has your iPod sometimes reacted weirdly when you used your BT headset to remote control the iPod, for instance skipping more titles than you wanted when you pressed "forward"? This is kind of what happened to me on my iPad and since then I've noticed the error appear on the iPad too.
Regarding your other issues, I cannot confirm the podcast problem where a podcast starts at some random point. Podcast seem to work fine in my case, but maybe all of this is caused by one and the same error. Let's hope Apple will find it all and fix it in an update asap.
Also, I don't have the artwork problem where an album displays artwork from a different album. I have had a case where a few tracks of one specific album (and just that one) were not displaying the artwork at all, although everything was properly tagged using the software MP3Tag. If you haven't reset your iPod (as a new device, not from the backup), maybe this would at least resolve some of your problems?
While my problem is just annoying for people like me who simply want their new device to work without any errors (even if there's an easy temporary fix or workaround to these errors so that I could live with it), your errors sum up to a nuisance that makes it hard to enjoy using the device. Having wrong artwork displayed with albums (or none at all) and podcasts being played at random positions is certainly not what you'd expect from such an expensive device.
Have you thought of contacting Apple about it? Not only might they have a solution for your specific problems, but it might also be more convincing if more people would independently report the first-track-skipping-issue we're all experiencing! What they need to know is that the bug is global, not just a corner case, and that it seems to be somehow related to their iOS. They couldn't afford ignoring it if several people would complain about this, especially now that a new iOS beta is already out!
Maybe some other users who read this thread have made similar experiences without paying attention to it? To all other forum users: would you please try if you notice anything weird like first tracks being skipped, either music or podcast? Maybe related to audiobook listening, maybe related to BT headset use? I'd be happy to forward any observation to Apple (to the existing issue case number) in order to better convince Apple to investigate this - asap.
Thanks again, MikeSpike, of course I will keep you all updated if I hear back from Apple!

my ipod touch front camera ist working since i update it to IOS7 i think is a bug or something. pls try to fix it because this **** is taking me crazy

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem. It happened to some other users before iOS 7. Thus, it does not appear to be an iOS 7 problem.

  • Possible bug found in Mac Os X Tiger 10.4.11 in conjuction with iPod Touch

    Dears,
I think I've found a possible bug in Mac Os X version 10.4.11 in conjunction with iPod Touch.
When the iPod is connected during boot, my Bluetooth hardware fails to be detected. When I restart the portable without the iPod connected, my Bluetooth hardware is recognised & activated again. It is reproduceable.
    1. Attach iPod Touch before starting the MacBook Pro
    2. Boot the Macbook
    3. Bluetooth hardware should be rendered inoperative
    Restore functionality:
    1. Detach the iPod Touch
    2. Reboot the portable
    3. Bluetooth hardware is restarted / recognised.
    Regards

If the reset does not work I would try the following before going to Apple
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:

    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • BUG: Contacts on Ipod Touch does not know Thailand

I bought my Ipod Touch recently. One of the first thing I wanted to do is to insert my own and a few friends addresses. I am living in Thailand. To my big surprise the list of countries supplied in the Contacts application does not show Thailand. To me this is clear bug. In other applications Thailand is visible (e.g. time zone setting, clock). How to get this solved? I tested this in the latest update (1.1.2) of the Ipod Touch firmware and still the same issue.
    Ronald

After spending 30+ minutes on the phone with Apple Technical Support, the only way that we - the customers - can encourage Apple to provide additional language support is for everyone to get on and lodge a request through the feedback web page.
I would strongly recommend you get all your friends to go to the ipod touch feedback page and file and enhancement request. The more people that lodge the request the better chance we have of it being available a release.

  • Default Alarm Sound Bug iPod Touch

I have a problem with my iPod Touch. When I set an alarm with a sound OTHER than Time Passing it defaults back to Time Passing when it actually goes off. I tried many times to change the sound. The only way I fixed this was to do a complete reset (I don't want to have to keep doing that!). After this I can choose any sound (from those available) and it works as expected. I will try again after a sync and see if this issue still exists.
Is this a known bug? The forum search shows too many unrelated results for me.

This is a known bug, posted many, many times throughout these boards, on both iPhone and iPod touch.
    Report the bug here: http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipodtouch.html

  • Auto brightness does not work after upgrade from iOS5 to iOS6 on my iPod touch. Is this intended by Apple, or is it a bug?

I attempted to ask this question, yesterday. However, I am not used to typing with my thumbs, yet, and messed it up some. So, I will give this another try. Auto brightness does not work after upgrade from iOS 5 to iOS 6 on my iPod touch. Is this intended by Apple, or is it a bug?

Have you looked at the previous discussions listed on the right side of this page under the heading "More Like This"?
iOS 6 changed how that feature works.

  • Any iPod Touch (5th Gen) experiencing bugs?

I have an iPod Touch 5th Generation Black and Slate 32GB model that I recently purchased and I have experienced little bugs. The most common are when I reboot the device because the device is acting buggy and then when it reboots and the touch screen wont work for 30+ seconds. Also when I am using dictation I see quickly flashing green and purple pixels above and below the "Done" button. Some others happen when I am using Siri and it will not respond or it will tell me it didnt understand me over and over no matter how hard I try to clarify. The Siri thing doesnt happen often but the freezing and the flashing pixels does. Has anyone else experienced these bugs or know how to fix it?

Okay, I've noticed a lot of posting about rules and regulations here, but sometimes it seems noone is really paying attention to the actual post. It seems excessive.
Regarding the original poster, I have only noticed the coverflow changing resolution when going through photos. They seem to be pixelated while moving swiftly, and then pop back into focus once you stop.
Not sure what you mean by deleting albums. You should only be able to delete albums or songs from an on-the-go playlist. Not anywhere else (unless you use the computer to arrange your songs)
For my photos, I thought they were in the order they are on the computer. I haven't checked this thoroughly (no time to play) but I shall check.
As for disk mode, I find it very awkward to not use this as a storage device like all my other ipods. I can only guess it's to keep the system locked down, and it may change when Leopard comes out. I fully expect Apple to make programs and alternative stand-alone widgets available through the store in the future. My biggest beef is the lack of entering any information to store on the device, including PDF's I would like to read offline.
I especially do not like the fact I cannot use the camera connector I purchased. The capabilities of the device are not living up to the potential I envisioned when I bought it.
