AutoCAD LT 2009 issues?

Are there any issues running AutoCAD LT 2009/Windows Vista under Boot Camp?
I recently tried this under VMware Fusion 2. It worked, but ACAD was too lethargic to make it practical for serious use [work]. So now it's up to Boot Camp.

Thanks. I still haven't been able to install Vista under Boot Camp so I can't find out for myself. I thought it would be fine though unlike with virtualization apps.
I also tried Parallels 4 and was surprised that ACAD actually worked better under this then with Fusion 2 (reviews were contrary to this). But still nothing like running in it's native hw/sw environment.
Cheers

    Is anyone using AutoCAD Architecture 2009 in BootCamp on a MacBook Pro?
    Any licensing issues?
    What about using BC with VMWare or Parallels?

    Yes, my new MacBook Pro has been working great with AutoCAD.
    I had only experienced problems when I had tried to access Boot Camp in Mac OS via Parallels or Fusion. In such attempts, my AutoCAD license had needed to be reactivated.
    As for Lenovo, you will have nothing but problems. I had used ThinkPads for over 10 years, and I had been an Advisory Member of their product forums for some time.
    All Lenovo ThinkPads suffer from poor craftsmanship, off-center screens, cheap plastic, which cracks, keyboard flex, constant wireless disconnections, and excruciating technical support.
    I have noted links, with further problems, for you to check out.

    NoteBookReview.com has been the biggest, and most credible, supporter of ThinkPads ever! This has been well known in the industry. With the launch of the T500 and W500, they have ended their support for ThinkPads. Read their reviews. They have even said that the MacBook Air is far more durable than any ThinkPad.

  • My iMac 2009 issue 3.0.6Ghz has no bootable DiskWarrior or TechToolPro CD/D

    I'm told by DiskWarrior guys that they are waiting for Apple to give them a bootable CD to boot into the late 2009 issue of iMac's 3.0.6 Ghz machines.
    Anyone else heard of this ?

    True because I paid Alsoft and Micromat respectively.
    My point is that Apple always does this: issue a software or hardware and wait for the buying public to beta test for them for free. Does that mean i will never buy another apple product ( hardware or software ) *OF COURSE NOT*.
    I still remember when I bought my 8500 and apple.... ops, that's a story for another day...

  • Autocad Architecture 2009 & PDFMaker 9 Pro

    We were running Architecture 2009 and Adobe Pro 8. Turned out 8 was not compatible w/ any autocad 2008 (wouldn't give us the pdfmaker toolbars & pulldown menu). We were told 9 Pro was compatible w/ Autocad 2008 so we just upgraded 9 computers to 9 Pro. Architecture 2009 runs on Autocad 2008. The pulldown & buttons still will not appear and I've just been told by Adobe support that no 9 is not compatible. So if it is compatible w/ Autocad 2008 and that is what we have on the system why won't it work? We can create pdfs thru the plot screen but it is so so slow. Does anyone know about this? Are we in fact dead in the water on this? Thanks very much, this has been exceptionally frustrating.

    Install the 9.1 patch - Help>Check for Updates. AutoCAD 2009 support was added in 9.1

  • Creating PDF tool bar in Autocad Architecture 2009

    How do I get the Adobe tool bar and pulldown menus on my Architecture 2009 screen. When we were running ADT 2005 and then loaded Adobe 8 Prof. the pulldown menus and Adobe tool bars appeared on the screen. Now that we have upgraded to Archit. 2009 I cannot get them to show up. I've tried menuload in Archt. but Adobe tool bars are not there, I've done a repair install on Adobe and still no luck. I can create pdfs thru the plot command but the tool bar is so much more convenient. Thank you.

    Thank you very much for this link. Architecture 2009 runs on Autocad 2007, which is compatible, but there must be something in Arch. that prevents it because we just cannot get the pdf maker button to appear. Our Autocad support folks don't know either. I don't know why it is so difficult to get an answer to this we can't be the only ones trying to do this.

  • ECL VIEWER and AUTOCAD 2008/2009

    Dears,
    Is the ECL VIEWER 6.0 (last version) compatible with Autocad 2008 e 2009? If not, when SAP will release a new version compatible for each one.

    Hi,
    The ECL VIEWER 6.0 can open AutoCAD 2008 files.
    So far I have no Idea when SAP will release the ECL VIEWER for AutoCAD 2009.

  • Autocad-PLM Integration issue

    Dear PLM Experts,
    We need to Implement Autocad-PLM Integration with Cideon Software interface. The basic cycle is working fine.
    I have the few questions for which i need more clarity. (We are using Autocad 2011 and Cideon Interface 6.1)
    1. The Creation of Material Master is happening by defining the Reference Point,Ballon & Creation of Ballon Material Master .
    Is there is any way, by taking the drawing reference, the Part list and the Material needs to be created(without defining the Part reference and ballon)
    2. The business already using X-steel and tekla for steel Detaling process..........when i convert these drawing into Autocad, the drawing is Exploded in 1:100 Ratio. How to avoid this... Ex: Poly lines drw are broken into different pieces
    3. Drawing creation through AutoDesk  and SAP Tab(Icon) through RFC......whats the difference between these two..
    4. How to add/Customize  columns in the Part list as per our requirement
    Thanks in advance
    Prakash.B

    Please provide more details how you solved this.  What is the Frame you are referring to?  The only Frame referece I see in AutoCAD help is in regards to a system variable that turns frames on or off for external references.    We are getting titleblock attributes to update between SAP and Vanilla AutoCAD but it is not working for AutoCAD Mechanical.

  • Mac Mini 2009 issues

    Hi,
    Just bought a mac mini last week for my music studio. I upgraded it to 4gb of memory myself and installed 10.6.1
    The mini connects up to the following devices
    usb:
    -Ext 1tb HD
    -Midisport 8x8
    -Midisport 4x4
    -Midisport Oxygen 8 keyboard
    -Roland MC-808 Groovebox
    -Mac small keyboard
    -Mouse
    -USB 2 ext powered hub
    firewire
    -Presonus FP10
    The problems I am having
    1) When turning on the power at the wall and then pressing the mac power button (after any amount of time) the mac will often not power up. If I remove the mac's power supply unit from the power, wait, reconnect it will usually power up.
    2) When I boot up the mac continues to set the internal sound as the default input/output rather than my FP10 which is annoying!
    3)The midisport 8x8 continues to flash (no connection) and is unreliable (used on prev systems no problem).
    Can anyone suggest whats going on?
    Thanks!

    Unfortunately that isn't possible in this case (all the time) but I will test it temporarily set up this way. I was wondering if it was struggling with the amount of USB devices, will also try unplugging them all and seeing if it still happens.
    Seems odd how I have to pull the power out of the mac for a while and then back in before it powers up (regardless of if the psu is connected to the wall or not). Doesnt sound like a faulty PSU but im open to being told it is
    Also, FYI with the midisport it has had the firmware update (new chips) applied and was working with them under windows xp on a different box.

  • SMB configuration issue

    I am seeing a save issue with Autodesk Revit, which was present in 10.7, and is still present in 10.8 I have just found. The issue is that Revit (and I think AutoCAD has similar issues) will usually save just fine, but at random moments it will simply refuse to save, and enter a not responding state until you kill the process. Again, this seems to only be Autodesk products, I have no probelms saving a Word file, for example.
    So, my hope is that someone has a recomendation for a configuration change in SMB, that might solve the problem. it really feels like a latency type issue, where Autodesk software is just expecting a quicker response than OS X Server is providing, and the Autodesk save dialog doesn't wait and try again, it just fails. I am happy to be a ginea pig if there is something in smb.conf that might be worth trying.
    Thanks!
    Gordon

    Hi,
    On switch port 24 you have to tag the VLAN id, so change you settings from forbidden to tag like the other ports, when you connect the ip phone to the port it assigned the VLAN 10 and it is tagged for that reason the IP phone doesn´t acquired IP address.
    If it was useful please rate.

  • How do I get my Mac Pro to see the second monitor through a video splitter and/or switcher?

    In a recording studio we have a Mac Pro with two video display monitors in the control room and we want to be able to show the content of the second monitor to the person in the recording room on a big display monitor there. However, when we interpose a switcher or splitter between the computer and the second monitor so that we can (with a switcher) switch the second monitor signal from the control room monitor to the record room monitor or (with a splitter) split the signal to go to both monitors, we have no luck. On startup the computer does not see the monitor through the switcher, so it doesn't recognize its existence. If we start the computer up without the switcher in the signal chain, it sees the second monitor just fine, and (weirdly enough) we can then change the cabling to interpose the switch, which then works to switch back and forth between second monitors (control room and record room), but that cable swapping's a royal PITA. We want a simple solution that will allow us to start up the computer, see the second monitor in the control room, then choose to show it to the person in the record room with a simple flip of the switch (or even better, split the signal so it's available both places). The splitter we've tried most recently is this one: http://tinyurl.com/curen39 I'd appreciate any advice from people who have tried this configuration or something similar with success. We have a full ProTools HD Accel 3 system installed, so there's no room to install a second video card. Thanks.
    Mac Pro 8-Core 2.4 GHz, OS 10.6.8

    Christopher Dobrian wrote:
    Thanks for the response! Yes, it's a 5x70 video card, a 5770 I believe. In any case, it does have the three ports, but (a not-well documented fact) that doesn't mean one can really get three full-resolution signals out of it at one time, as you alluded to in your message. So, yes, we did try hooking all three up directly to the computer, but the computer would only recognize two of those monitors, and the only way to get it to "de-recognize" the second monitor and recognize the third monitor was to physically disconnect the second monitor.
    I did say when you want to connect three monitors to 5x70's there are some rules to adhere to.  These are covered in the first two apple docs mentioned above, or by title:
    Mac Pro (Mid 2010), Mac Pro (Early 2009): Issues with three displays and multiple DVI, HDMI connections
    Mac Pro (Early 2009), Mac Pro (Mid 2010): Supported display configurations
    The general gist of these rules is that to drive three monitor son a 5x70 you need two active adapters.  That is why one of your monitors was disabled when you tried to add a third.
    Here's a good explanation of what's going in here and why you need two active adapters on these cards:
    Active vs. Passive Displayport adapters *the truth*
    If you use DVI monitors and any of them have resolutions less than 1920 x 1200 then you can use single link active adapters. The "AMD Eyefinity Validated Dongles" chart shows some active (and passive) adapters that are acceptable.  For example of a single link DVI active adapter is the Accell B087B-006B.  An example of a dual link DVI active adapter would be the one from monoprice.com if you need to connect monitors with a resolution greater than 1920 x 1200.
    I'm doubtful that SwitchResX would be able to convince the computer that there were only two monitors connected and direct the second monitor signal to the correct place, but it certainly seems worth a try, so thanks for the idea! Any other ideas are still welcome in the meantime.
    I'm not doubtful.  It is a very powerful utility for dealing with all aspects of multiple monitor configurations (they call them "Display Sets") complete with forcing EDID information if necessary.  The different configurations can be controlled with a (contextual) menu and/or hot key.
    SwitchResX is academic at this point if you want to have all three monitors connected.  You would need to get that working first.  Then use SwitchResX to vary the configuration combinations.  So if you go this route the "name of the game" is figure out the active adapters you need.
    I only described in general terms above about the adapters since you never said exactly what kind of connections these monitors require (single link DVI, dual link DVI, hdmi, mini-displayport, vga).

  • Open production orders and its costs migration

    Hi All,
    We are migrating open production orders from legacy to SAP.
    We have some standard cost production orders are open in legacy and like to migrate a open production orders to SAP?
    May I know how can I do from controlling point of view?
    I have one typical scenario.
    I have one production order in legacy with 10 standard cost materials produce and out of 10, 5 materials are completed in legacy and we wants to migrate remaining 5 materials to SAP.
    What are the steps I needs to follow to migrate open production orders.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Anusha

    Hi Anusha,
    Below is the process: (presuming that you're uploading balances as of 01.04.2009)
    Upload all material masters,
    Upload material initial balances,
    Create new Production Orders as of cut off date, say 01.04.2009
    Issues goods to Production Orders created above.
    All the goods/material issued to Production are debited to raw material consumption account.
    The value of WIP can only be ascertained during month-end closing process.
    If it is pressing requirement then upload the balances as of 31.03.2009 and then do a month-end/year-end closing.
    Thanks,
    Srikanth

  • MB5B REPORT QUERY

    Dear All,
    I am facing the problem as said in the thread.
    My two queries are as follows:
    Query 1: In MB5B report When we select the valuated stock option ,We are unable to use movement type , storage location in the selection criteria nad getting the below messages.
    M7284 - Storage location is reset.
    M7298 - Movement type is reset .
    Query 2 :In MB5B report total receipts and total issues is showing incorrect values.
    Here say for example I prepared the grn, cancelled the grn and again made the grn. Here total receipts is considering in such a way that all the grn quantities are considered. and cancelled documents are considered as issues.
    ie have received material = 100 Nos 01-12-2009
    cancelled grn:100 Nos
    Redo grn:100 Nos
    Done transfer posting 415 Q = 10 nOS = 02-12-2009
    Issued = 10 nos = 02-12-2009
    In mB5B 01-12-2009 to 02-12-2009
    We are getting Opening stock= 0 which is correct
    Total receipts = 100(GRN IST TIME)+100(GR SECOND TIME) +10(TRANSFER POSTING)=210
    Total issues = 100(CANCEL GRN)10(TRANSFER POSTING)10(GOODS ISSUE) =120
    Closing stock = 90(CORRECT)
    Here actual recipt: should be 100
    actual issue should be 10
    Here though the closing stock is correct , Cancelled GRN'S  & 415 transfer posting are  considered as issue and receipt.Becoz of this total issues quantity & total receipts report is going wrong.
    Please give your valuable suggestions to the above two problems seperately.
    Regards,

    Hi,
    Solution for Querry: 2
    I also faced the same problem.
    We need to give the selection dates (from  - to dates) and system shows the opening and closing stocks (and values) on those dates.
    But problem still persist with Receipt and Issue stock (and values).
    For Receipt and Issue Qty (and values) you will nedd to develope the Z report, in which you can make logical correction.
    for example: In Receipt Qty you can add all 101 movt types and on the same time subtract 102 movt type (which is not there in standard report).
    Regards,

  • How can I hook up 3 screens to a Mac Pro 8 core 2010 model?

    How can I hook up 3 screens to a Mac Pro 8 core. One is a 23' Apple Cinema Display, the second is a 20" Apple cinema display and the 3rd is a 32' Sony Bravia HDTV (connected to mini port with mini/HDMI connector) Do I need to buy another video card? I have heard  about 4 different scenarios about this, and they all sound a bit complicated. I thought that you could automatically connect 3 displays with the card that comes with the MacPro. It has a DVI port and 2 mini ports, so it appears that would be for 3 displays. But this is where it gets strange. Any thoughts?

    Which video card?  5x70?  If you read about the various scenarios thern for 5x70's you need two active adapters for thee monitors (TV considered a monitor).  And you should have seen references to these apple docs:
    Mac Pro (Mid 2010), Mac Pro (Early 2009): Issues with three displays and multiple DVI, HDMI connections
    Mac Pro (Early 2009), Mac Pro (Mid 2010): Supported display configurations
    It's not really complicated.  Search out the appropriate adapters and hook 'em up.   For the 23" and 20", if they are DVI, you need single link adapters.  For the TV, if you end up using the DVI port for it (because possibly you can't find the appropate adapter cmbination) then you need to handle the audio separately since DVI doesn't carry audio.

  • How to generate 3 payment due dates& 3 posting against single invoice?

    Hello Experts,
    Kindly provides some inputs on below requirement.
    For example :- In the Utility Bill,
    Consumption months: June, July, August
    Meter Reading taken in August
    Billing Months: September, October, November
    Bill generated in August
    Consumer receives the bill on September month
    Payment Due dates: 12 Sep 2009, 12 Oct 2009 and 12 Nov 2009
    Issues-:
    1.How to generate three posting against single invoice?
    2.How to generate three payment due dates for above postings in three consecutive months since payment due date logic is incremental in nature here, e.g.
    1st due date = posting date + 15 days
    2nd due date = 1st due date + 30 days
    3rd due date = 2nd due date + 30 days
    Requirement description:-
    The utility generates bill quarterly for domestic consumers. For such consumers, the utility takes reading from the consumers premises after end of consumption period (quarterly ) and generates bill on the 1st billing month (here 1st billing month is September).
    In the bill the utility divides total consumption into three parts (considering each part for each consumption month) and calculates all charge heads separately on each part. It however, consolidates and generates a single bill having three rows, each row showing charge heads of each consumption month and also net and gross amount to be given for each consumption month.
    Moreover, three postings have to be generated in FICA against that single bill. Also, it provides three due dates to the consumer, each date falling in each billing month, to pay the above three net amounts respectively. Dunning and other activities should be triggered if the consumer fails to pay the stipulated amount by corresponding due date.
    Looking forward for valuable suggestions
    Thanks in advance

    I've found out a unusual point that we see no any provider implementing RSA.

    I have received error "[javax.net.ssl.SSLKeyException: RSA premaster secret error]
    caused by [java.security.NoSuchAlgorithmException: Cannot find any provider supporting RSA/ECB/PKCS1Padding]"
    when running the following code snippet from command line[b]:
         TrustManager[] trustAllCerts = new TrustManager[]{
              new X509TrustManager() {
                public java.security.cert.X509Certificate[] getAcceptedIssuers() {
                    return null;
                public void checkClientTrusted(
                    java.security.cert.X509Certificate[] certs, String authType) {
                public void checkServerTrusted(
                    java.security.cert.X509Certificate[] certs, String authType) {
            // Install the all-trusting trust manager
            SSLContext sc = SSLContext.getInstance("SSL");
            sc.init(null, trustAllCerts, new java.security.SecureRandom());
            HttpsURLConnection.setDefaultSSLSocketFactory(sc.getSocketFactory());
            URL url = new URL("https://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/");
            BufferedReader in = new BufferedReader(
                             new InputStreamReader(
                             url.openStream()));
            String inputLine;
            while ((inputLine = in.readLine()) != null)
         System.out.println(inputLine);
           in.close();Specially, the error only occurs when using JDK 1.5.0_07-b03 on Solaris platform.
    I have tried using other JDK versions (e.g: 1.4.2_09-b05, etc...) and NOT see the error.
    This is very strangle! It may be a bug of this JDK version?!!!
    The below is all providers available on this JDK; search among these providers
    I've found out a unusual point that we see no any provider implementing RSA.
    So I doubt that this missing can lead to error
    [java.security.NoSuchAlgorithmException: Cannot find any provider supporting RSA/ECB/PKCS1Padding]
    ------------------- All providers avaible on JDK 1.5.0_07-b03, Solaris platform ------------
    SUN = SUN (DSA key/parameter generation; DSA signing; SHA-1, MD5 digests; SecureRandom;
    X.509 certificates; JKS keystore; PKIX CertPathValidator; PKIX CertPathBuilder; LDAP, Collection CertStores)
    SunRsaSign = Sun RSA signature provider
    SunJSSE = Sun JSSE provider(PKCS12, SunX509 key/trust factories, SSLv3, TLSv1)
    SunJCE = SunJCE Provider (implements DES, Triple DES, Blowfish, PBE, Diffie-Hellman, HMAC-MD5, HMAC-SHA1)
    SunJGSS = Sun (Kerberos v5)
    SunSASL = Sun SASL provider(implements client mechanisms for: DIGEST-MD5, GSSAPI, EXTERNAL, PLAIN, CRAM-MD5; server mechanisms for: DIGEST-MD5, GSSAPI, CRAM-MD5)
    For the other JDK versions, we can see "implements RSA" and then everything works fine!
    ------------------- All providers avaible on other JDK versions, Windows/Solaris platform ------------
    SUN = SUN (DSA key/parameter generation; DSA signing; SHA-1, MD5 digests; SecureRandom; X.509 certificates; JKS keystore; PKIX CertPathValidator; PKIX CertPathBuilder; LDAP, Collection CertStores)
    SunJSSE = Sun JSSE provider([b]implements RSA Signatures, PKCS12, SunX509 key/trust factories, SSLv3, TLSv1)
    SunRsaSign = SUN's provider for RSA signatures
    SunJCE = SunJCE Provider (implements DES, Triple DES, AES, Blowfish, PBE, Diffie-Hellman, HMAC-MD5, HMAC-SHA1)
    SunJGSS = Sun (Kerberos v5)
    I have downloaded and installed the Java Cryptography Extension (JCE) Unlimited Strength Jurisdiction Policy Files version 5.0
    but the error still occurs!
    Does anybody know how to fix this error? Please!!!
