Autoconfig hangs on LSNRCTL80.EXE process | windows

Hi all,
I'm a newbie here. First thought I'd put this thread under the windows subforum, but couldn't find an appropriate section there. I'll give it a shot here.
In a windows environment autoconfig hangs on the LSNRCTL80.EXE process being active.
A TNSLNSR80.EXE is spawned but LSNRCTL80.EXE hangs and autoconfig will only continue if the LSNRCTL80.EXE is killed by hand.
After autoconfig finishes, the LSNRCTL80.EXE service has to be started by hand again.
As we're working on automating a cloning process, the idea behind my question is to not having to interfere during the cloning process. The idea of having to set your alarm to kill the LSNRCTL80.EXE in the middle of the night is not too appealing.
Funny thing is that when you use remote desktop + console this problem does not occur, but if you use remote desktop without console, the LSNRCTL80.EXE hangs and has to be killed for autoconfig to finish.
Any ideas where to find the solutions to this?
I'd appreciate any ideas on how autoconfig can be run within a cloning process without having to manually interfere by killing the LSNRCTL80.EXE.
And/or any ideas on why this problem does not occur within the remote desktop + console setup?
Thanks all in advance for your time.

Hi,
This is a known issue as you need to run AutoConfig on the server itself (not from a terminal client) -- See (Note: 260365.1 - Adconfig.cmd Hangs When Starting Apps Listener) for details.

Hussein

ff 12 hangs up at starting process - it is nor possible to click on the ui

A possible cause is security software (firewall,anti-virus) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

  • Win7 x64 itunes*32.exe process hanged up and window not open

    sry,my english not good.
    windows 7 x64 and itunes 10.5, after install, itunes*32.exe(Not AppleMobileDeviceService.exe) process hanged up , cpu(1/4 cores) up to 100% .

Sounds stupid, but this will actually work.
    1. Quit iTunes.
    2. Start an elevated command prompt (Start Menu -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Right Click "Command Prompt" -> "Run as Administrator")
    3. Once in the command prompt, type "netsh winsock reset" and hit ENTER.
    4. Restart iTunes.
    Problem solved.
At least this fixed it for me on my own Windows 7 x64 installation.  I had AppleMobileDevice.exe, APSDaemon.exe, and iTunes.exe all at 25% CPU simply from opening up iTunes.
25% CPU for me is 100% CPU per core since I have 4 cores.

  • AcroRd32.exe process on Application Server Hanging Up

I run a print job in a reporting system that utilizes Adobe Reader 9.5 for Windows Server 2008. When the job runs, the AcroRd32.exe process hangs up, which prevents me from running anymore print jobs. I cannot end the process via Windows Task Manager, or even a force kill from cmd. I've had this issue for a while and I'm at a loss. I do notice that there is a adobe reader file that is under my common files (created from my print job) that I cannot delete because it says the file is open . I believe this is why the process is hanging up. It's weird because I can't even delete or close it from the server's 'Share and Store Management' because it doesn't show open.
    Can anyone help me?
Does Adobe have any tech line I can call to debug? I'll pay.

The first thing I would try is to update to 9.5.5, or 10.1.8, or 11.0.4

  • Numerous Explorer.exe processes run on Server 2012 reboot causing server to hang

I have recently installed Server 2012 as a Domain Controller.  AD, DNS and WINS services as well as Hyper-V manager.
I am facing a very strange issue which does not occur every time I reboot the machine (but on most times).
The machine boots to Windows and hangs, I can notice a large number of explorer.exe processes (that start without any user intervention). The server hangs completely and I am unable to kill the processes manually.
I have to restart the server remotely via shutdown /i.
On reboot the server works fine, If i reboot the server by switching off the hardware manually the same issue may occur..
Any idea what might be causing this behaviour?
    Thanks and Regards

    Hi Carlos082,
I would recommend you to check the event logs which generated during the server hangs.
Please also try to set up a Performance Monitor log and let it run for a while.  At the very minimum, add the counters for Memory, Process, Processor and System.  The length of time that you need to let it run will depend on how long the system
takes to hang (assuming that this is happening repeatedly).  Set the interval so that you can capture at least a hundred samples over the life of the log.  Any low memory condition should be readily apparent - especially if it is a steady leak.
    Finally, follow the steps in
KB Article 244139 to prepare the system to capture a complete memory dump for analysis if needed.
To troubleshoot the server hangs, please follow this article:
Troubleshooting Server Hangs - Part One
    I hope this helps.

  • I am trying to launch Firefox 9.0.1 on Windows 7 but the application window isnt visible even though there is a firefox.exe process running in task manager.

I am trying to launch Firefox 9.0.1 on Windows 7 but it isnt working. I try to launch it and the application window does not show. When I look at the task manager and then look at the Applications tab, Firefox isnt listed. If I go to the Processes tab, there is a firefox.exe*32 process listed. Each time I double click the Firefox icon, a new firefox.exe process is spawned but there is never a visible instance of the Firefox application.
There are no errors in the application logs. I end up just having to kill the processes.
I tried launching in safe mode by holding down the shift button but the same thing happens.
Any suggestions on what to try? It has never worked since upgrading from version 8. I tried un-installing and re-installing

I went through everything mentioned in the link you posed and nothing detailed there resolved the problem.
The Profile folder didnt exist so I created it. Made sure the perms were good and that it was not read only.
There are no default folders appearing under the profile folder when I start Firefox.
I have Firefox installed to my E drive.
Nothing happens. The process appears in the task manager but no application shows up.
Cant start it in safe mode, cant run the profile manager.

  • When closing Firefox (v:3.6.13), using the red "close" button, the firefox.exe process remaines at top of the "Windows Task Manager" window and continues to use the majority of CPU time.

After an attempt to close the Mozilla Firefox page, on every occasion, the firefox.exe process is found at the top of the list when ordering the listed 'processes' by CPU time... even though the web page is gone.
If an attempt is made to restart Mozilla, the system declares that the current Mozilla process should be closed.
If the firefox.exe process is explicitly closed in the Task Manager, only then can Firefox be restarted.

Does that also happen if you use File > Exit Firefox?

  • Acrobat X intermittently won't launch, multiple Acrobat.exe processes hanging in task manager

Apologies if this is in the wrong community area - I was unsure where it belongs.
This is an intermittent issue, but does happen several times a day.
Regardless of what method is used to launch Acrobat (double-clicking a PDF, clicking the shortcut in the taskbar, selecting Acrobat from the start menu), often the application won't launch. Upon investigation, task manager shows multiple instances of Acrobat.exe, although the application is not running (see the image below). Ending all Acrobat.exe processes does allow Acrobat to launch.
Any thoughts as to what might be causing this, as well as a more permanent fix? The workaround of constantly ending multiple processes is becoming cumbersome.
We are running Acrobat X Pro in Windows 7. I also have several CC 2014 apps installed (as well as a couple of earlier versions required for plugin functionality).

This happens all the time in my company with several installs of Acrobat.
The only way to fix this for us is to end each process in Task Manager as you have pointed out.
It is very time consuming in our workflow as we each operator deals with hundreds of PDFs daily, and has to do this End Process procedure several times a day.
We have done several tests and nothing seems to stop this from happening.

  • APSDaemon.exe process causes iTunes to fail on Windows 7

I am using iTunes with Windows 7 64bit. A couple of days ago my pc downloaded the latest iCloud update in the Apple Updater. Since then when I start iTunes it will lock up when opened requiring a task manager shutdown to exit.
I traced the problem to a process called APSDaemon.exe which seems to be an Apple process that runs on Windows. As soon as I shut this process down iTunes then unfreezes and I can use it normally.
I hope this helps anyone else suffering this latest issue with iTunes for Windows. I hope Apple fixes this problem ASAP.

With all due respect, I don't see where the "correct answer" posted by wiclee is an answer to the problem at all.  True, it prevents Apple Push from starting on boot, but at least on my Win 7 x64 laptop, the process starts again as soon as iTunes does.  iTunes will start and run properly once, but if closed, will not start again during the same session (without rebooting) unless the APSdaemon.exe process is force-closed in Task Manager.  This is after iTunes repairs and repeated removal/reinstalls (including removing stuff via the Registry).  I've tried reinstalling "as Administrator", as well as with the antivirus/firewalls enabled and disabled.  My laptop is brand new, and I haven't done the desperation measure of restoring it using the recovery disks I created, although I was considering it until I saw this thread.  It sounds like this problem, if not "common", is not unknown, and Apple needs to provide a fix.

  • Jobserverchild.exe process hanging

    Hi
We have installed a new implementation of XIr2. Note that we have an existing implementation which does not do this. We have a setting on the deski job server of Max Jobs Allowed =2. Each time a report is run, it opens a jobserverchild.exe process in Task Manager. If we schedule another report while the first report is running, we get another jobserverchild.exe process. If we schedule multiple reports concurrently, these will continue to use the 2 jobserverchild processes. If all these reports complete, then we schedule another report, the jobserverchild process hangs, and the report stays at status Pending in infoview. If we view the process in Task Manager, the Mem Usage does not change, which indicates the process is hanging. This is causing us severe problems.
    Help pls.

    Use following method.
    u2022 -maxChildReqs <N>
Sets the maximum number of jobs processed by one job server child
before it shuts down and restarts (in case you want a to use a
number between 1 [OUTPROC] and 100 [MIXEDPROC])
Job server children will also automatically shut down if left unused for a
    period longer than 2 hours.

  • How can I stop and restart the ApplePhotoStreams.Exe process on my Windows 7 computer?

I sometimes notice my CPU utilization skyrockets and my computer fan switches to high. This happens sporadically. The process causing this is ApplePhotoStreams.Exe. It appears the process goes into some infinite loop trying to update or sync pictures. Applications on my PC slow down and the fan stays on high (which is really loud) until I cancel the ApplePhotoStreams.exe process. I can easily cancel the process using Task Manager, but then any photos I take with my iPhone do not replicate over onto my PC unless I reboot my computer.
I'm not sure if anyone can easily tell me why ApplePhotoStreams.exe is doing this in the first place, but I would more like to know how to restart the ApplePhotoStreams.exe process after I cancel it without having to reboot my PC.

you can download a new installer and serial number from Adobe at Adobe - CS2 Downloads

  • Two java.exe processes running in the Task Manager in Windows XP

I tried to find the best possible place to post this and after spending about 20 minutes searching for an appropriate forum starting from java.com I ended up here. So forgive me if the is a wrong place and if there?s a more appropriate place for my question, please provide a pointer to it.
I don't know much about java and what it does but as the title says when I open the Task manager there are two java.exe processes running at the same time with about 20 000 k each.
One of the processes is coming from:
    C:\Program Files\Alias\Maya6.5\docs\jre\bin\java.exe
    and the other from:
    C:\Program Files\Alias\Maya7.0\docs\jre\bin\java.exe
in addition to that a jusched.exe process is also running coming from
    C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_10\bin\jusched.exe
I rarely open the Maya 6.5 and 7 documentations but the two java.exe process are running all the time and I would like to stop them running when I don?t need them but I don?t know how.
I can't end these processes from the Task Manager; they reappear immediately after I end them.
Any help with this is greatly appreciated.
    Thank you

  • Firefox.exe process remains after closing Firefox

I closed Firefox 5 over 45 minutes ago. At the time it closed, I had around 60 tabs open. The Firefox window closed, but now, over 30 minutes later, firefox.exe is still consuming 624 MB of memory. For the record, currently Windows Task Manager shows firefox.exe consuming 00 CPU, 639,772 K Mem Usage and a Peak Mem Usage of 771,296 K.
I'm seen this behavior at other times and, on those occasions, the firefox.exe process did eventually terminiate and release that memory. Why does firefox.exe take so long to terminate? Is this a bug or just a result of the way I use Firefox? I do tend to have a lot of tabs, 60 to 75, open at any given time. I'm guessing that's more tabs than the typical user.

I should go on to add that I have already seen the Firefox Hangs |Hang at exit document and none of these look like the obvious issue. I'm running Java Version 1.6.0_26, so current there. I'm not running any of the listed Internet security software. The only extensions I'm running are Java Console 6.0.26, ReloadEvery 5.0.0 and Xmarks 4.0.1, so not a lot of extensions.

  • Acrobat.exe process not ending when application closes

This also affected the acrord32.exe process until I uninstalled adobe reader.
I have recently updated to the new 10.1.0 version of Acrobat (think I was running 10.0.1 before), I was not having the issue before upgrading.
I only discovered I had the problem because I tried to delete a PDF file I had just opened. I closed Acrobat, then tried to delete the field, yet it said it was in use. A check in task manager showed acrobat.exe still running. This is most annoying.
    I'm running Windows 7 Professional x64 with SP1.
Note: This affected both the Adobe Reader as well as Acrobat X Pro, but doesn't seem to affect any other software.
Please advise of a fix for this, Thanks.

I have just completely removed Acrobat and reinstalled it having cleared all the folders that got left behind.
It installed ok, but now the 10.1 update wont install properly. It hangs at the "creating the adobe pdf printer" part. It eventually carrys on, but I end up with no Adobe PDF printer installed.

  • Removed working Firefox 7, Installed Firefox 10.0, Firefox will not load. When I click on icon, firefox.exe process shows briefly in task manager, then goes away....no errors, nothing

Removed working Firefox 7, Installed Firefox 10.0, Firefox will not load. When I click on icon, firefox.exe process shows briefly in task manager, then goes away....no errors, nothing. Never see browser panel at all. Also tried to install Firefox 9.0, but the same result was observed.

Rather difficult to say what the problem may be at present but for general info please have a look at
    * [[safe mode]]
    *[[firefox will not start]]
    *[[firefox hangs]]
Note sometimes you may have to wait a while for firefox to shutdown completly, and if it has hung then as explained in the above articles you may need to kill any firefox.exe process that is still running (and maybe plugincontainer.exe)
Try starting firefox in [[safe mode]] e.g. by holding down shift key
    * do not make any changes in the first window, just click on continue<br/> ? Do you get as far as seeing the options window for safe mode ?
If firefox is crashing see [[firefox crashes]], this is easier to work through if you can get firefox to start without crashing on startup. Currently some firefox users are finding Firefox 10 crashes on startup, and a new version Firefox 10.0.1 is being released very soon to deal with this and another cause of hangs.
Not saying any of this applies to your case but recent issues include
    * ask tool bar causing hangs if video is used none English versions [/forums/contributors/708073]
    * possibly some crashes do not start the crash reporter and other issues [/forums/contributors/708122?page=2#post-45059]
    * some general info about current crashes [/questions/917748#answer-308124]
