Autofill - email address priority/order

Not a big issue, but out of curiosity I thought I'd ask. Is there any way to change the priority or order of email addresses when using autofill?
For example, I have a number of email addresses that are in the format [[email protected]]. So as soon as I type the first "J" in "John" a list of all the domains where I have that email appears. I can't seem to reorder the entries in address book, and it doesn't go in alphabetical order (@mac.com comes before @gmail.com).
Sure its easy enough to just select the desired one, this isn't really a problem, but it would be nice if the most frequently used address would be the default to autofill first (not literally the most frequently used, just my designated first choice. Not looking for "smart" autofill).
Somewhat related, its also annoying that when a form has redundant email address entries, which is pretty standard these days, I can select the desired address for the first entry, and when I hit tab to move the "confirm email address" entry, autofill uses the default @mac.com address, even if I just entered a different domain. Don't think there's any way to fix this though, I guess you just have to use the default autofill address if you want them to automatically match or type manually.

Under the 'Window' menu is a command to view previous recipients. You can then see all your previous recipients and delete and addresses that aren't valid anymore. I don't know if this will work for incorrectly typed addresses, but you might want to give it a try.

If you can't remember your security questions go to Express Lane , select iTunes from the list, then iTunes store. On the next screen select account Management. There, select iTunes store account security and write that you would like to reset your security questions and / or answers.
You should get an eMail reply over the next 24 hours.

Autofill email addresses on my ipad rejected

In reply to my earlier question about online forms declining my autofill email address as invalid, I know it is correct but I changed to another of my addresses to see what happened and the form rejected that too with message "please enter valid email address" I think it must be something on my ipad but cant work out what it is. Have checked everything I can think of and deleted and refilled my personal address book entry.

My new mac pro doesn't autofill my email addresses from my old mac. Had no trouble w/ ipad and iphone, but there is no autofilling on this one. The addresses aren't necessarily contacts, just people i've emailed before. Please help, thanks

If you want to remove your Apple ID from the iPad you can just sign out in Settings>iTunes and App Stores>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. That will not delete the apps from the iPad. He will not be able to update the apps without your username and password and he will have to sign in again in order to that.
If he is going to use his own Apple ID and he begins to switch and back and forth from one ID to the other - and if he downloads anything again using your ID, he will lock himself out of his own ID for 90 days.
If you are asking how to remove your email account from the iPad go to Settings>Mail, contacts, calendars>your email account>Delete account. That will not cause you to lose any apps either.
You should probably explain exactly what you want to do in order to clarify.

How to delete/reset Autofill eMail Addresses in Apple Mail ?

Hello,
the Autofill in the To: Line shows up eMail Addresses that I do not recognize.
In Preferences I was unable to find a solution or a Button to delete this.
Can I for example delete a .plist to to this?

Open the Mail program, Go to the Window menu at the top of your monitor and choose "Previous Recipients". In the window that pops up you can see all of the addresses used for the autofill entries and remove the ones you don't want to use anymore from the list by clicking on the entry and then the "Remove From List" button in the lower left corner of the window.

Set multiple email addresses for orders

Hi,
This mught be really straight forward but I can not for the life of me find where the option is. I need to send order confirmations automatically to a second email address not hosted by business catalyst. This will save me needing to forward every order that comes in and the head office can automatically get any orders without me needing to do anything.

Hey Matt--
Your best bet is to use a workflow for this. You can set a workflow up to be triggerd upon purchase or quote by a customer. Just create a new workflow by logging into your BC and going to System Settings > Workflows and clicking the New Workflow button. On the first step of creating the workflow you click the "Orders" checkbox.
You can set your new workflow to email your main email address and also set it to be send to other email addresses as well. You might already have a workflow that deals with Orders already, so double check to see if you already have a workflow setup for Orders and you can just update that workflow step to send it to other email addresses.

HI, I don't understand - Seemingly I can't have an any type of PRIMARY Apple ID that has an apple ext. Instead I have to use a work email or even worse a google, android, MS email for my primary address to work - What is the point in directing customers to competitors? I already tried Apple direct but I didn't seem to get a conclusive answer to my question.
Also why can't you password protect the email app on the ipad or iphone? Its really frustrating that my email is availble for anyone to see once the screen password is bypassed. And yet my laptop (which I only use ironically) continually asks for my password once I have closed down.

You cannot delete an Apple ID, you can only choose not to use it. Also, your @me.com address is associated with this ID and cannot be moved to another ID or be used to create a new ID.
All you could do is create a new ID using a different email address with your name in it. If you do you will have an associated @icloud.com email address.

Autofill email address gives obsolete addresses as well?

Sometimes when I type the name of someone in the "To" window, I get several addresses listed even though I have deleted their obsolete ones in Address Book.
Where are these old addresses coming from and how can I delete them as I am never sure which is the current one?

I would like to see if there is a way to view all the autofill addresses in a list, or something. I sent an email to someone, but can seem to find the email itself because email sycning is crap. I am hoping if I see the full list that I can find the address

Two features I seem to be unable to find are a method of having the router staticly always distribute the same set IP address to a certain MAC address, and a way of seeing which addresses were distributed to which computers.
Are you using the round 802.11b/g AirPort Extreme base station (AEBS) or the newer square 802.11b/g/n AEBS?
...is there a way to access some sort of web interface for configuring the router?

How can I change the order on which Mail shows my list of email adresses? Curiously, it has putted the less important ones on top...

There is no built-in means to re-arrange the order in which the accounts are listed. The iPhone lists the accounts in the order in which they were added to the iPhone.
If you really want them listed in a different order, you can record your settings for each account, delete them and re-add them in the order you would like them to appear.

Deleting autofill iPad email address

The simple answer to both questions, which have been asked and answered hundreds of times (using the search bar can actually be effective and shouldn't be too much to expect) is that there is no way to change autofill on iPad, except to turn it off: Settings > General > Keyboard > Auto-Correction
This is not sarcasm, it is unbridled anger. This is such an obvious flaw in the iOS Mail Program and there is a long history of complaints about it. And yet the "genius" software analysts at Apple are incapable of fixing what my 40 years of experience in software tells me should be easily fixable in a decently designed piece of software. Let's see, Mail maintains a cache of email addresses. This list can get longer, if you keep adding addresses. So there is a counter indicating the number of items in the cache. So you have a configuration switch to set the counter to zero. Now was that so difficult?
Merely telling people that what they need to do (and clearly is a shortcoming of the software) is impossible is NOT a response. I was always told how much better Software Engineering is at Apple compared with Microsoft (and don't get me started with them). I now have serious doubts.

This is exactly what I want to do but don't think I can:
I noticed the following :
If you attempt to create an Apple ID which is the same as your @icloud email address from the online facility, it does not allow you (can't use an Apple associated email address as your Apple ID). However - if you start a fresh device - such as a new iPhone, iPad (must be mobile it seems), and then create an iCloud account and Apple ID from the prompts when setting up the mobile device, it IS possible to have your Apple ID and @iCloud email address as the same. I know because I just did it!
Unfortunately for me, the result I got above is not for one of my own ID's but a friends, and I would VERY much like to do the same - my current Apple ID is a completely different email address from my iCloud account. Trying to get them the same in my situation is a major bother - I think that if I wipe a device (such as an iPhone5 that is mine) and try to setup as I did my friend's device, then I will get a conflict because the iCloud email I have ALREADY exists. This is my worry and I will not attempt this until I get the new iPad 4 soon to test this.
There is an inconsistency here between the two methods of creating Apple ID's and iCloud accounts.
Overall in my opinion, the Apple ID system as currently available from Apple is not designed very well, and should be addressed.
