AutoFill in Safari 1.3.1

Safari 1.3.1 doesn't want memorise some ID and Password (Yahoo and Hotmail)
I have try almost everything to make it work without result.
I couldn't remove anything from those website in AutoFill <Users names and Passwords> or <Other Forms> because there is nothing concerning those 2 web site. I also have deleted everything from those web site in Keychain, but then too, Safari didn't reacted.
I notice in Keychain a <Safari AutoFill> (Application Password), could I delete this Safari AutoFill in keychain ? I suppose Safari will create a new one empty and with a bit luck will work as it should be ?

I was going to post in Safari forum, but the post new topic option wasn't available for some reason.
It's there but just a little confusing. After you click on Safari from the main page, you must click on Safari again
to go into the discussion area.

  • Youtube won't autofill on Safari?

I don't know why or what I did but one day youtube randomly stopped autofilling on safari, like when I type something in the search box no suggestions come up. I don't have this problem when using FIrefox. I just installed the latest version of Safari and it still isn't working. I've also already tried messing with all the preferences. Autofill works with google and every other website, just not youtube! If anyone knows how to fix this let me know!

One of the following steps should help.
    1. Install Adobe Flash Player.
        http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
        Restart computer. Relaunch Safari.
    2.  Enable Plug-ins
        Safari > Preferences > Security
        Web Content:
Click in the box for "Enable Plug-ins".
    3. Check  whether you are currently  in  YouTube HTML 5 trial.
         http://www.youtube.com/html5
At the bottom  left of the page  uncheck the box for
"You are currently in the HTML5 trial".
    4. Reset Safari.
Click Safari in the menu bar.
From the drop down select "Reset Safari".
Uncheck the boxes next to all items.
Check the box next to "Remove all website data".
        Click "Reset".
    5. Turn off Extensions/Plug-ins if any that may interfere with Flash working properly.
        Safari > Preferences > Extensions
    Best.

  • When I autofill in Safari, it leaves out Postcode

When I autofill in Safari, it asks me if I want to auto-fill, I say yes, and it leaves out the Postcode (UK)...
Is there a way to make or trick it into including the Postcode field?

    21 Trinity Road, Wimbledon, SW19 8QT
    I used to live there.
The contact card in the Contacts App looks like this:
    21 Trinity Rd
    Wimbledon
    SW19 8QT
    United Kingdom
Could it be because sarafi is looking for a field called Zip Code or some such? Is there a way to trick Contacts/Safari into to doing the right thing?

  • How to delete Autofill contents Safari 2.0.4

How can I get rid of Autofill or delete Autofill contents? I find it anoying to to be prompted with several suggestions that are not what I want. I know there is private browsing...but what about everything that is already in autofill, or the next time I forget to turn it on? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi
I may have misunderstood your original question.
I find it anoying to to be prompted with several suggestions that are not what I want.
I thought you were asking about the multitude of prompts appearing when you begin to type a web address into the Address window.
If you are asking about the autofill information that appears when you are completing a form, then yes, as you discovered, the reset command will remove that data in its entirety from the system. It also removes a lot of other data too. You can find out the specifics of what is affected by going to the Help Menu>Safari Help. When the Help screen appears, type "reset" in the spotlight panel. This will lead you to a more thorough explanation of the reset command.
If there are specific instances where the auto-fill information is not accurate or helpful, you can remove that data without throwing away everything else by going to Safari Preferences>Auto-fill>Other forms>Edit. There, you can remove specific entries without losing the entire database.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts   Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

  • Why does autofill in safari no longer work in iOS8?

Autofill no longer functions as before now that I have upgraded my iPhone 5 to iOS8. It no longer fills in my username and password automatically when I go to a website. Instead I have to put the cursor in the username space and then an autofill option pops up....choosing autofill then does put in the username and password....but this involves extra steps and more time. This is time I cannot afford. I get substitute teaching jobs texted to me and many others at the same time. Whoever logs in first and accepts the job gets the job. It has always taken seemingly microseconds before others get the job before you because they logged in faster. With extra steps now to autofill I won't get any jobs. I know this sounds strange but it is true. Am I overlooking something to get the username and password to autofill as soon as the website is chosen? Thanks.

You are correct in that iOS 8 changed how Safari Autofill enters user names and passwords on some websites. While some sites function as before, other require tapping in the text entry area, then tapping Autofill password and finally tapping Sign In. As far as I know there is no way around this. • Autofill in Safari search bar for iPod Touch

I have read lots of threads, but none seem to answer this question...
How do I delete previous search items in the Google/Yahoo search bar in Safari on my iPod Touch??? Autofill displays these previously entered searches with a drop down menu. There are inappropriate searches from previous users that I can not remove by deleting history, deleting cookies, or clearing the cache. Anyone able to help?!?
    Thanks!

Today 11/2/11 the YouTube function on my iPod & iPad1 are working correctly again, in fact, seems to be loading videos faster on my 4G Wi-Fi connection.   APPLE must have corrected the glitch over Wi-Fi since I authorized iCloud access.   Thank you APPLE for correcting this bug which was certainly 'bugging' me...  KUDOS~!

  • Autofill in Safari

Safari has stopped autofilling on most web sites. When I go to one I expect to have autofilled it doesn't even attemp to fill when I begin typing. All 3 boxes are checked in Preference, Autofil. When i check edit on the user name and passwords the use name is there but no passwords. Help. I didn't write all these down and am now lost.

    Hi Sacha,
A pleasure to help, sorry no joy, yes that is what i meant "Safari Forms Autofill"
Have you sent a bug report to Apple, use the bug on the Address bar or right under Safari menu.
You use OnyX to clean the cache, hmm I worry about OnyX running optimization since reading this article
I also wondered how compatible it may be, however I personally have not yet updated to 10.4.10 , I have not heard anything negative regarding it, just wonder....
Ahh I did a google search there is a new release it is also a Beta version however it is a beta version.

Check the size of your Safari cache folder & then trash it, sometimes it can make all the difference to trash the cache instead of just emptying it..
Just in case it helps, I have been experiencing a couple of other problems since installing Safari 3 and 10.4.10: 1) On webpages that update frequently, like newspaper sites, I now often have to click on reload to get the latest page - otherwise it loads the one I browsed during my last visit, sometimes days before. 2) The Apple Weather Widget does not update weather any longer for my stored cities, although it does for new entries.
Hmm odd have you tried deleting the old setting and entering them anew.
Did you you do the combined os 10.4.10 update?
We are ot: ) I hope no one notices.

  • Sluggish Autofill in Safari 5

I'm having issues with Safari 5. There is a 5-6 second lag time for the autofill to work. With Safari 4... it was less than 1 second. It's quite frustrating. I've emptied the cache. I don't really want to reset as I would lose all of the previous autofills.

Hi and Welcome to Apple Discussions...
Web pages include a small icon or 'favicon' which is visible in the address bar and next to bookmarks. *These icons take up disk space and slow Safari down*. It is possible to erase the icons from your computer and start fresh. *To delete Safari's icon using the Finder, open your user folder, navigate to ~/Library/Safari/ and move this file "webpageIcons.db to the Trash.*
Try logging to another user account. Launch Safari. See if there's lag time there. If there is, then it could be system wide problem not just your Home Folder and easier to trouble shoot.
Make sure Safari is not running in Rosetta. Right or control click the Safari icon in your Applications folder then click Get Info. In the Get Info window click the black disclosure triangle so it faces down. Where you see Open using Rosetta... make sure that is NOT selected.

  • Google autofill within Safari

Anybody else having issues within Safari when typing something into the Google search bar, it will autofill the bar with something totally different from what you wanted to search or type for, even after just typing 1 letter?

It's there but just a little confusing. After you click on Safari from the main page, you must click on Safari again

  • Autofill and Safari

Suddenly and for no obvious reason, I cannot get Safari to exercise its autofill function. I have tried resetting it but it does not help.
Not sure whether this is a fault of Address Book or Safari and so I shall post on the Safari formum as well.
    Any help out there?
    David Amies

    Thank you for your suggeston.
I followed it and the problem has more or less gone away.
There were soome other problems: Entourage was playing up and Mail, as an alternative was not working for me. I have shifted all of my email, scheduling and contact lists over to Google's suite of applications and I am much happier.
I shall revisit Mail when 10.5 comes out.
    Many thanks for your tiime.

  • No universal autofill in safari forms/search boxes?

hi, i'm a new safari user. in firefox, for example when I've searched "bacon" on one site, if I search it again on other website, bacon would show in the dropdown when I type "b." but in safari that's not the case. "bacon" only shows up on the website that I've searched it on. the same with forms. I have to type my e-mail on every website. it's tiring. anyway to get around this? thanks.

yes, it is working but only if I already entered the word in one particular website. safari doesn't remember the word in other websites. in firefox a word you submit on a website gets remembered on any other website. hence I said "universal." if safari can't do this, I'll consider going back to firefox.

  • Autofill in safari stopped working

Recently my autofill of datafields from my personal profile and address book--- my name & address, email recipients' names--- just stopped functioning. I checked and it's ON, but it just no longer works. Hoping someone out there has a solution, before I have to call Apple.

Steve you've helped yet another. I'll second the 'thanks' for posting your finding of that auto fill button. It used to be a joy filling in web forms on the Mac until they apparently disabled that feature. Type the first letter of my name and viola, the whole page was done. Now at least I can do it with the push of this button you found.
    Thanks again,
    Robert
