Autofocus and touch focus on 3G 2megapixel camera update needed badly

Well after seeing the new specs of the 3GS, tho the camera is better. i would have still liked to have seen something good for the camera on the 3G model of which i recently brought, only to find the new iphones sudden release. Tho i love my 3G i was feeling a bit disheartened by the new model. But as i feel people who own a 3G would like to see some kind of Camera update and possible video option update on the 3G, as im very sure the 3G can handle the software.
So if you support this idea, please, lets get Apples attention and let them know we would love to see some camera function improvment on the 3G.
i would go as far to pay even a small fee for the update if that was the case.

well yup i had a feeling about that. but what would be nice is some kind of new functions at least. just a pity ya cant buy the camera parts n do it yaself lol
but i cant help thinking that the lens in the 3G has already got the capability of a lens in it. and apple aint telling us jack **** bout it.
aint there some kind of natural focus on lens? as im not all cracked up on camera stuff, lol. i just know how to take piccys.lol. a bit think of me to say, but hey thats why the forums are here.

Iphone and touch being recognised as a camera

After spending most of last week sorting out my itunes ready for my sons new touch, I plug it in this morning to receive this message ' apple mobile device not started'
I follow the instructions left by some kind person on here and double check the settings in the control panel, and make sure that they are at automatic. They are but I reinput just in case.
Now both the touch and my iphone are being recognised as cameras when I connect to itunes. I also have an ipod 5 classic which has all my music on but am reluctant to try this as last time I did it cleared all my music!
Any ideas people, its my sons birthday on Saturday and I was hoping to have the touch fully loaded for him.

TCP/UDP Ports and site used by FEP to download updates - needed to allow on perimeter firewall

Can some one point me with information like what TCP/UDP ports are utilized by FEP and what DNS / site Name it uses to download FEP Updates. This is needed to tighten perimeter FireWall policies

Make sure to expand the "restrict access to specific domains" section to see the update related URLs.

Gallery and camera update for Belle FP2.

I just installed the update which is available today via software update using Nokia Suite.
I'm happy that I got back the mark option to send multiple files.
There's an extra preference option provided in camera but it is still taking time for the camera to start after phone is started.

After the recent update of gallery and camera on 808 and 701, which allows finally the multiple selection, I've found on both devices that if you select 2 or more photos in the gallery and then you send them by email, the email app closes suddenly and you can find the message with attached photos in drafts. But just 2 photos. If you select 3 or more, only 2 will be attached. If you choose just one, it works as previously, you open a new message and then you can edit it etc.
Have you the same issue?
Yes, everybody had got this. It's always been there. On the 700 and on the 808, FP1 and FP2. Actually the gallery/camera update has improved it a bit. One can now email 2-3 pics. Before the update even 1 pic rarely worked.
Really serious problem with no organization of the report without album and all photos in one place has been reported ?? course the problem is not solved in any way with the extra apps from the store which is slow without a good support

The issue seems to be caused by the mechanism involved in the Send / Email dialogue which is present in the Gallery app, and in various other apps which also fail the same way.
Whereas if you start up the email app, create a fresh email and then add the pics (as attachments) to it, you can send as many as you like, with the email size limited only by the various SMTP server limits. I have emailed 50MB emails, though most people are limited to about 10MB by their ISP or network.

Will not start even in safe boot after installing latest camera update

MacBook Pro will not start even in safe boot after installing latest camera update.
I started my machine and did a software update. Only the camera update needed. So installed and when required I pressed restart. It restarted and did install. Then restarted again. I expected to get to the login screen and it turned itself off. Tried three more times. Each time shutting off. I unplugged everything, and pressed start waiting for log in window. No it shutdown before the log in window. I then tried safe mode and that did not work either on three more occasions.

I have managed to resolve some issues. I can now restart the machine via a CD boot. If I do cmd C into something like tech tool pro, then restart from that disks menu it restarts every time.
If I try a safe start it shuts down. If I try a normal start it shuts down. I have managed to repair permissions and that cleared up some start up permissions but with no improvement to the boot problem. The only way to load is via the cmd-C boot option. Any other ideas?

When i turn my mac pro off and then back on it dosent load my login pic and says updated needed!!

with the words updated needed under the empty pic. however if i jus put t into sleep mode it will load up the pic as it should. bit hard to explain.

Start here. Is ti normal and expected for the computer to also see the iPod as a comera since that is how you get saved photos from the iPod to the computer.

I was having the same problem for ages. I followed a apple advice section telling me to check the processes for apple mobile device manager, and check for the applusb.sys driver, and they were both there and working. I would advise you to do this. If they are not showing, then the article says to re-install itunes. here is the article by the way. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1852
However this did not fix my problem. So I decided to try re-installing the actual driver, instead of the whole of itunes. Try this, as it worked for me
(I don't no how good with computers you are, so I'll put simple steps, sorry if it seems patronising!)
1) Go to start, and Run
2) Type "devmgmt.msc" without speech marks
3) A screen with your computers name at the top, with seperate sections for things like keyboards and moniters should have come up. At the bottom you should see Universal serial bus (usb). Expand it and look for apple ipod, or somthing similar (there's prob only be one by apple) If it's not there make sure your ipod is plugged in!
4) Right click and go to properties
5) Click the 'Driver' tab
6) You should see 'Roll back changes' as an option. Click that and accept/press yes to the prompts that pop up.
7) Wait for a few seconds (may take a min or two) until your back to the previous screen described in step 3
8) Now Under 'portable devices', apple ipod should be listed. Right click that, and choose 'Update driver software' Choose to automatically search.
9) Again wait, and when it's complete Apple iPod should show under universal seriel bus (usb) section again.
10) Exit out of device manager, and open up itunes. Your ipod should now be there. You may need to un plug it and plug it in.
What this effectivly does is re-install the device used to search for iPods by itunes. For some reason, mine and probably yours ran into problems.

The shutters on my camera on my iPod touch 4th gen don't open and stop me from using my camera

When ever I turn on the camera app the shutters never open and I can use it because I can't see abut it and if I press anything it just freezes, it's rather annoying and makes me wish I did get the 4g touch seeing with out he camera working there is no real defference. Please help me, I'd rather of jot of spent my money for nothing D:

The iPod touch has a very rudimentary camera. It has only a 0.6 MP resolution, no optical zoom, no flash, etc. There is no app that can improve this as it is limited by the hardware. So it is not a replacement for a digital camera (nor even for an iPhone whose camera has a 5.0 MP resolution.

I'm also on iPhone 4, iOS 6, and have exactly the same problem. I've tried resetting privacy settings, turning restrictions on and off, deleting and reinstalling apps. Nothing seems to work. The lists of apps in privacy settings are all empty, except for location services. When using Tweetbot the app is regularly asking for permission to access my twitter account, but even when I allow that, the app doesn't show in privacy settings. When I try to go into the camera roll from the Facebook app, the app tells me I have to allow access to the camera roll from the privacy settings - which I can't do since the app is not listed there.

Its the little things in a phone that make it so good. Touch focus is a really cool concept. It would definetly make the N8's camera more versatile with more options.
also it seems much more comfort to have touch focus. it is much more simpler than selecting an object, focus it. and then move camera back. I think the N9 has touch focus..........

DRIVES, AF OPERATIONS (specifically continuous autofocus), and AF POINT SELECTIONS

I have some questions in regard to the correlation between DRIVES, AF OPERATIONS (specifically continuous autofocus), and AF POINT SELECTIONS. Because I realize that AI FOCUS AF will initially focus using the CENTER POINT then track the moving subject much like AUTOMATIC FOCUS POINT does, I imagine that if one is using AI FOCUS AF, an adequate FOCUS POINT SELECTION companion would either be CENTER or AUTOMATIC . Which is better? Also, if one should decide not to use any AF OPERATION at all but instead use CONTINUOUS DRIVE mode in conjunction with MANUAL FOCUS, would that have any bearing on which AF POINT SELECTION option one chooses. For example, a guy I read about had been using AI FOCUS AF during a Formula race. While realizing his camera couldn't keep up with the fast cars closing in, he decided to do just that. He explains he could lock the focal distance, keep it fixed in place and shoot in CONTINUOUS DRIVE to increase his chances of at least one frame being sharp. Since he furthermore says that he selected a FOCUS POINT, it makes me wonder what bearing AUTOMATIC FOCUS POINT SELECTION would have had, and could he have chosen that option for the same scenario?

There's no spotting me at the motorsports facility other than driving go-carts, unfortunately outside the placement of merit. Hahaha! My mentioning the guy who did shoot at Formula races was more or less an effort to give context to the problem I was trying to figure out, which really has to do with the FOCUS POINT SELECTIONS one has to consider as they relate to the different AF MODES. The guy says that he selected a SINGLE POINT to lock-in distance to the track and then switch to FT-Manual focus to take CONTINUOUS shots, whereas I'm wondering could he have used AUTOMATIC POINT selection to lock-in beforehand. It seems if the AF system is advanced enough, it would be able to focus well during the burst. Moreover, you mention panning for a more creative effect along with a bigger zoom that what I have, which in that case, I know for sure I would select a SINGLE POINT. I'm mostly uncertain when it comes to the SELECTION POINTS, particularly when I want to focus MANUALLY, and under what circumstances, if any, I would want to use the AUTOMATIC POINT SELECTION?

Hello, I've got a question about my Iphone 3gs. Well one day i woke up and i tried to slide to unlock my phone but the touch was unresponsive. So, i turned off my phone and back on, the unlock screen came back one and same problem happened. The only time the touch works is when I slide to turn off my phone. When people call me, i can't answer. When people text me, I can't answer. I do have the latest update for the phone. I've looked everywhere on the internet and have got no answers. I have dropped my phone a couple of times and it does have some cracks on the screen. Please help!
