Autofs not working in ML
I have a problem with Autofs in OSX 10.8
I have an afp file share set up on a ubuntu server
I map this share to a mac mini using finder menu “connect to sever”
This includes user and password and this works fine.
mac-mini:Volumes$ ls
Home Directory Resources
Macintosh HD firmwaresyncd.Hdawx3
files on server
mac-mini:Volumes$ cd 'home Directory'
mac-mini:home Directory $ ls
Disk_TV Network Trash Folder
Disk_Video Temporary Items parity
and now to Autofs
master map file in etc
# Automounter master map
/Volumes/Resources auto_resources
+auto_master # Use directory service
/net -hosts -nobrowse,hidefromfinder,nosuid
/home auto_home -nobrowse,hidefromfinder
/Network/Servers -fstab
/- -static
auto_resource file in ect
#auto_resources
media -fstype=afp afp://smith:[email protected]/home
mac-mini:etc $ sudo automount -vc
automount: /Volumes/Resources updated
automount: /net updated
automount: /home updated
automount: no unmounts
mac-mini:etc $
mac-mini:Resources $ ls
media
mac-mini:Resources $ cd media
-bash: cd: media: STREAM ioctl timeout
mac-mini:Resources $
Appreciate any ideas
permissions are correct in MM
Any help really appreciated
cheers
I had exactly this problem and it turned out that the problem was that the name of the file share on the NAS is case sensitive. To use your file share as an example in my case:
afp://smith:[email protected]/home
should have been
afp://smith:[email protected]/Home

Dave

Hi,
I tried auto mounting my USB key drive and USB camera to automount but not sure where I am missing.
Here is my approac.
I followed this wiki!
http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/AutoFS_HowTo
my rc.conf reads
DAEMONS=(syslog-ng network netfs crond kdm alsa hal autofs dbus)
and my fstab
/dev/sdb1 /mnt/usb vfat noauto,users,rw 1 0
However, everytime I have to do a manual mount of /mnt/usb.
I would like my usb drive and camera to be auto mounted and the suggestions for appropriate application to open. Eg with the camera, digicam should open.
I am using kdemod.
EDIT::
When i do lshal and then connect the USB drive I get this output
bash-3.2# lshal -m
Start monitoring devicelist:

So hal is detecting a USB drive, but does not automount.

Last edited by abhaysahai (2007-06-12 02:45:26)My suggestion is to try the hal/dbus aprotch instead of autofs. Atleast for me it has been alot more just works(tm)
http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/HAL
When it comes to the camera, Is it set up for mass storage or ptp?
Edit2: Oh, and you shoudn't need to set up a line in fstab. That can actualy breake automounting.

4.0 EA2 - Autofit not working properly in Query Result grid
Hi,
in 4.0 EA2 the Autofit isn't working properly in Query Result grid.
Rather than shrinking columns to the narrowest size that accommodates headings and contents (as per 3.2), it auto-expands to fit the whole data query grid.
It looks worse, and makes it harder to see results at a glance.Bug and will be fixed for v4 release.

[SOLVED] autofs not working
Hi,
I decided to copy the autofs config from my laptop to my desktop pc.
But the rc.d script of autofs fails. Unsure of how else to find the problem, I tried this:
> automount
automount: test mount forbidden or incorrect kernel protocol version, kernel protocol version 5.00 or above required.
Strange, my kernel is up to date:
uname -r
2.6.30-ARCH
Ideas?
Thanks!
Nathan

Maybe you didn't load the module for it.
Hope this helps -
Autofs direct mapping not working
Hi there,
I'm currently migrating from Gentoo and hit a problem. I'm trying to use an autofs feature called 'Direct mapping'. It allows one to use map one directory to a specific server. Combined with ghosting, one can use this to do a on demand bind setup. This is useful if the target is not always available (like an encrypted disk that is not active).
Relevant auto.master snippet:
/etc/autofs/auto.bind_1 \
-fstype=auto,--timeout=5 \
defaults,nodev,noexec,nomand,nosuid,noiversion,\
noatime,bind
and the full contents of auto.bind_1:
/home/gedeeld/secure :/home/secure/gedeeld
/opt/32bit_chroot/home/secure/ronald :/home/secure/ronald
Automounter just won't list it:
[root@Alpha autofs]# automount -f -v
Starting automounter version 5.0.7, master map auto.master
using kernel protocol version 5.02
syntax error in nsswitch config near [ syntax error ]
mounted indirect on /var/autofs/cifs with timeout 5, freq 2 seconds
ghosting enabled
mounted indirect on /var/autofs/dev with timeout 10, freq 3 seconds
ghosting enabled
This exact same configuration file used to work with autofs on Gentoo. I'm at deads end why it's not working under Arch. Autofs documentation is sparse, especially with respect to 'Direct mapping'.http://bugs.archlinux.org/task/6936

I have tried a number of things from rebooting, trying other usb devices that work on other systems with no problems but will not work on my Macbook Pro.

The "Awesome Bar" is not working. It does not recall anything from the Bookmarks
Just updated to new Firefox. In the past, when I would start to type a site in the address bar firefox would complete it as it was already in my bookmarks. But now it does not do anything. It just sits there waiting for me to complete the address. I could start to type Netf and it automatically finish Netflix.com
Why is this happening. Also, for the first couple days of the new version I had to go back into Tools, Options and reset things at least 3 or 4 times before they would finally stay the way I wanted them.
I would tell it Never Remember History and after while I would look and it would say, Remember History. I wanted a Blank Start page, and it kept changing it. It's okay now but the Awesome Bar is not working at all.Do your bookmarks show up in the auto-suggest drop-down list?
''If not:'' Under Options > Privacy, in the bottom section, does it still show that Firefox should suggest Bookmarks in the Location bar?
If auto-suggest works but the autofill isn't happening, you could double-check that it has not been disabled here:
(1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste '''autof''' and pause while the list is filtered
(3) If the '''browser.urlbar.autoFill''' preference is bold and "user set" to false, double-click it to switch its value back to the default value of true. That should work in new tabs.
It's it already true, hmm, I wonder whether this is a private browsing issue? (I didn't test with automatic private browsing.) -
I've read the threads and done numerous searches. Not sure why the add row button isn't working, other buttons work.
Here's what I've found and done.
Print button subform - positioned (have tried flowed, too) allow page breaks
Table: body rows vary - Insert wrap in subform - subform flowed - allow page breaks
row 1 binding - repeat row for each data item - min 1, max 25 (why won't it keep an initial count when I try putting in 1 or 0?)
Form properties - preview in dynamic PDF, interactive - PDF render format dynamic xml, run in 9.0 or later (to remove errors)
Insert Row Button in Subform Row 1 Cell 1 (not counting header row) on click, JavaScript run at client tried table.row1.instancemanager.addinstance(1); also tried full path
saved as dynamic pdf
My hierarchy looks like:
form1 [autofit]
master pages
page 1
untitled content area
printbuttonSubForm [flowed, top to bottom, allow page breaks]
untitled subform [flowed, top to bottom, allow page breaks]
printbutton1
tablesf [flowed, top to bottom, allow page breaks]
table1 [allow page breaks]
headerRow
cell1
cell2 etc
Row1 [allow page breaks, repeat row for each data item, min 1, max 25 (why won't it keep an initial count when I try putting in 1 or 0?)]
subform [allow page breaks, repeat row for each data item, min 1, max 25
(why won't it keep an initial count when I try putting in 1 or 0?)]
button1 table1.row1.subform1.instanceManager.addinstance(1);
cell2, etc
Referenced objects
Questions:
I click the Add Row button, but nothing happens, why? The print button works.
Found a reference to def instances of same row, what does that mean?
Is my hierarchy correct?
How to set Form1 to flow? Object says mixed objects with no options
Many thanks for your assistance! LeslieHi Leslie,
There could be a few things.
First check that the form is saved as Dynamic XML in the save as dialog. If it is saved as Static the add instance will not work.
Make sure that the object you are targetting is set to repeat in the Object > Binding tab
Check your syntax in the script editor (button above the editor). Some of your post is not camel case. For example addInstance and instanceManager. Note the capital letter for the second word.
If you could share your form it would be easier to track down what the problem is. You can use Acrobat.com or YouSendIt.com or some other file sharing site. Just remember to post the published URL.
Good luck,
Niall -
Substitution rule does not work in SAP CRM
Hi,
In our client, we have work flow set up for substitutions. Manager A has specified B as his substitute for approving work flow items during his absence. I checked the table T77S0, WFLOW AUTOF is set to 'X'. I checked the table HRUS_D2, here the entry shows as
User User Start date End date Substitute profile Substitute Active
A B 03/10/2014 01/01/9999 0001 X
However B is not able to receive the workflow items of A. When I tried to forward using SWIA, then B is getting workflow items. Not sure, why the substitution is not working. User A has set up workflow substitute in SAP CRM Web UI.
Any suggestions to resolve this will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
With regards,
RaviYou assigned substitution profile 0001 which is disciplinary or something like that - this substitution profile has no meaning and is only an example. try not assigning a substitution profile or use profile 'all' which contains the 'NO_CLASS' task class which is the default classification for tasks in the system.
you can see substitution definition in SAP Web Application Server → Business Management → SAP Business Workflow → Basic Settings (Organization Management) → Substitute Profile.

Hi,
I am new to Solaris so this may be something simple I have missed. I am having troubles mounting a MO (magnetic Optical) disk on my Solaris 9 X 86 workstation.. I have just loaded the Solaris operating system, in the workstation I have an internal MO drive connected to an internal PCI SCSI card. I know the drive is working because I can format and create a newfs on disks, then mount read and write to the disks I have just created. I mount the disk by using the following command.
# mount /dev/dsk/c0t6d0s2 /mnt/mo
When I try to mount a disk MO formatted on another Solaris system using the same command I get an error
# mount /dev/dsk/c0t6d0s2 /mnt/mo
mount: /dev/dsk/c0t6d0s2 is not this fstype
I have tried to change the fstype to autofs in the vfstab file but this would not work. I have a Linux box with the same hardware installed and I can mount both MO disks (mine and ones formatted on other systems) by using the following command:
mount -t -ufs -o ufstype=sun /dev/sda /mnt/mo
I can read and write to both MO disks in Linux (after complilng the kernel with WR support for UFS in Linux) but not in Solaris.
Can anyone give me hints as to why I can not mount the disks from other Solaris machines?
Do I need to add other file system support?
Can I do some checks on the MO disk to make sure it is compatible?
Thanks in advance for any assistance. Thanks for your responce.
I have 2 new solaris X86 boxes which I have just built. Our customer sends us data on MO disks formatted in UFS from their solaris 8 SPARC boxes. If what you are saying is true, it may not be possiable to read the MO disks on my X86 solaris box then.
All of the disks I am trying are 512 bytes/sector (4.1GB or 2.3GB).
I have not tried Solaris 10 but if may be worth a go before I go out and buy a SPARC station.
When I do the following commands this is the output I get:
On the UFS formatted on a SPARC station
#fdisk -w /dev/rdsk/c0t6d0p0
# (returns with no errors. I also tried s2 instead of s2)

Drive formatted on my X86 box
results were teh same exept:
# fstyp /dev/dsk/c0t6d0s2
UFS
In conclusion does this mean that we can not read the disks formatted on the SPARC boxes?
Do you know of anything else I can try?
Thanks in advance. -
[Solved (kind of)] Suspend not working after reinstall
Hi folks.
I did a reinstall 2 days ago and since then suspend / resume after a suspend to ram is not working. (Thinkpad x200)
As a desktop i use kde4, i also tried a dbus suspend and a pm-suspend without any X running.
Following happens using arch kernel:
- suspend is initiated and it immediately resumes;
Following happens when using my own kernel + config:
- suspend works (moon led starts blinking and finally the fan stops and the moon is the only led shining)
- after i open the lid or press the power button resume starts but the moon led is aktive, only the cpu fan starts running;
unfortunately i don't know how to log this process, as the display is not working and there's no log available of the resume process.
my rc.conf starts following daemons/programs:
metalog dbus thinkfan sshd
Thanks for any suggestions.

I add some information from the log files. State is unchanged. Both with slef baked kernel and arch kernel resume is not working

Usually, the sd card should appear as /dev/mmcX, right? How can I get started?Accoring to this wiki, it could: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/HCL/Card_Readers
Anyway, /dev/sdb is a SATA disk.

Not work tablet UI on Prestigio 5080 PRO tablet
I read that browser.ui.layout.tablet = "1" can fix this problem. But it not works. I can work only in pnone interface that is not good for my 8'' tablet.
Would it be possible for you to share the problematic pdf and OS information with us at [email protected] so that we may investigate?
Thanks,

Why self-defined access sequences of free goods can not work?
Hi gurus,
I have maintained access sequences of free goods self-defined.but when i creat the SO it does not work!
when i used the standard access sequences ,it is OK .
Can anybody tell me why?
thanks in advanceDear Sandy,
Go to V/N1 transaction select your self defined access sequence then go in to the accesses and fields and check all fields are activated.
Make sure that these fields are flowing in your sales order.
I hope this will help you,

Adobe bridge raw not working with windows vista in photoshop cc, why?
adobe bridge raw not working in photoshop cc, is there a fix?
Your sure your using photoshop cc on windows vista?
I was under the impression that photoshop cc would not even install on windows vista.
What version of camera raw do you have?
In photoshop under Help>About Plugin does it list Camera Raw and if so which version is it?
(click on the words Camera Raw to see the version)
Camera raw doesn't work if it's a camera raw file or some other file type such as jpeg or tif?
What camera are the camera raw files from?
Officially camera raw 8.3 is the latest version of camera raw that will work on windows vista.

Since the upgrade to the latest version of iPhoto the photos no longer print in good quality. They appear crisp and in good focus on the monitor, then when they go to the page where they get edited and printed from, they go blurry. This is happening
