Automate DRM Metadata load into HFM

Is there a way to automate a DRM metadata load into HFM? In both instances, we are using the latest Fusion versions and I wanted to know if there is a way to automate loading the flat file produced by DRM into HFM. How would this be done? Does EPMA versus classic HFM setup play a role? If there is no automation, I imagine this would require an admin to manually export from DRM and manually import into HFM.

We are having metadata maintained in DRM, DRM provides an export in .ads file format, we load the .ads file into EPMA and create / updated dimensions.

Automate Metadata loads into EPMA

My company has 2 systems HCM and EPMA. We are tying to get the data in sync between these 2 systems. I am new to EPMA and was wondering if there is a way to automate the Metadata loads into EPMA? We recently installed ODI but not sure if this can be done VIA ODI. Any help is appreciated.

Metadata load into EPMA

Hello All,
I am trying t load metadata via Interface tables in my EPMA application. I loaded all the metadata correctly & my application got delpoyed with any error. Hoewever I am having some issue with loading member fromula in my version
dimension. So here is what i did. I have populated the following tables:
1. HS_Version Hierrachy where I define the parent child relationsip & other mandatory property for that member
2. HS_Version_Member where in I defined the formula assocuiated with that member
I then linked these table with my system tables IM_Dimension & run the profile.
When i go to the dimension library in workspace I see that member but somehow it dosent bring the formula over from interface tables.
I did added the formula manually in dimension library & deployed the application & everything woked pretty good.
Is there something i am missing in the process of bringing this formula from interface tabe I am on EPMA 11.1.2.
Has anyone ever loaded formula's via interface table & run into this situation?or may be is there a documnet anywhere which talks about the existing bugs while loading metadata through interface tables?

Metadata load during 24 hours and still has not finished

Hi all,
I have a problem with the metadata load on HFM 9.3.1.3
It seems it is running from about 24 hours.
it happened some time that the log has not been produced from the HFM client, but I always have found in the log that the metadata load had finsihed succesfully.
This time I have no clue that the dataload has completed.
I have performed some times ago the delete invalid record task, that completed succesfully.
Can some one tell me wich are the drivers that make the data load process last so long?

Changes to the Entity or Currency dimensions can take far longer than changes to the Account, Custom, or Scenario dimensions. The reason for this lies primarily with the calc status tables, since changes to Entity or Currency require HFM to make changes including inserts to all of the CSE/CSN tables. Changes made to the Accounts or Customs do not require updates to the CSE/CSN tables.
Another common place for very long metadata loads lies with journals. The "Check integrity" box for metadata loads tells HFM to read through each and every journal and journal template in the entire application, checking to see whether even a single journal or template could become invalid if it allowed the metadata to be loaded. NEVER uncheck this, since once metadata has invalidated even one journal, you can never load metadata with the check in place afterward.
Another possibility is that metadata loads have to wait for all currently running data loads and consolidations to complete before the metadata load can start. Once it starts, subsequent data loads and consolidations have to wait for the metadata load to complete before they can start. This is to preserve data integrity.
One last place to look for long metadata load times comes with an application whose database is performing poorly, possible because of missing/broken/out of date indexes.

HFM Metadata Loading On-going Problem

Hi There,
We just migrated to HFM 11.1.1.3 from HFM 4.
We used to have an issue in HFM 4 where almost everytime we loaded metadata, the system would hang and become unresponsive. The load screen would just sit there without ever completing the load. You could still use the system but the metadata load would never actually load. The only thing that would resolve it would be to reboot all of the HFM application servers.
This happened to us again the other day but now we're on the new HFM 11.1.1.3. Again, the resolution was to reboot the HFM applications. We tried just restarting the services on the various servers but that didn't work. A full reboot was required.
And nothing was wrong with the metadata itself as it quickly loaded without errors into our DEV and QA environments. As well, we kicked all of the users out of the system prior to the metadata load. Most get out immediately and certainly no heavy calculations or consolidations are being performed during the metadata load.
Has anyone else experienced this issue? Should a reboot always precede or accompany a metadata load? Is there any recommendation as to how often you should reboot the Hyperion servers (monthly, quarterly, etc.) as good practice?

We are having a similar issue with version 11.1.2.0.0
We try to run an application metadata load from the client and we get an error message
Unexpected error: 80005005 occurred.

This is the second time we have encountered this problem. Oracle support was not able to determine the cause. The fix is to reboot the database server, but we are looking for insight to the problem. Note: Our current development environment is a single server virtual environment connected to a database server. We are planning to move to a more robust test environment with four applications and one database server in a few weeks.

Officejet Pro 8600 Plus. No automatic scan menu when documents loaded into the auto feeder?

I have a new Officejet Pro 8600 Plus to replace the L7780 which brought up the scan menu when a document was loaded into the autofeeder. How do I get the ne 8600 to do the same thing. I find that I liked the convenience of the auto menu but it does not come up when I load document(s) to be scanned into the auto feeder. Was this feature left off?

I understand you have a new Officejet 8600 Plus and have some questions about the scan feature in comparison to the Officejet L7780. I will certainly do my best to answer these questions for you.
In testing on our own Officejet 8600, I have found that you would be correct, this is a feature that wasn't transferred to the upgraded machines after they stopped making the L7780. There were a few printers in between the L7780 and the 8600, and they didn't have that feature either. I believe the reasoning behind it was that many people use these printers for copying and faxing as well so having the feeder automatically assume it's going to be scanning would have created extra steps for many others. Hopefully this is only a minor inconvenience and you can still enjoy the printer

How to load metadata directly into essbase 9.3 ?

Hi all,
When I load metadata directly into essbase with IKM SQL to Hyperion Essbase (METADATA).
My metadata is already on Microsoft SQL 2000. After execute an interface that load metadata to essbase and check in the essbase outline , It seem that outline data could not retrieve correctly.And still have many rejected records.
My question is :
Can I use the same rule file that used for load a metadata from text file?
Because in this case I use the same rule file that load metadata from text file.
Let me know if need more information on this.

Hi,
You can use the same rules file, make sure in the IKM options you have the same rules seperator as in your rules file.
You can also turn on error logging and logging in the IKM options so you should get more information to why the metaload is failing

Can user-defined styles load into new documents automatically?

Greetings.
I created a new style for a document. Is there any way to have that style automatically load into every new document I create by default? Or is the only option to import it every time I create a new document? I sure hope you can do the former!

Create a new document from the template which you want to use as starting point.
Import the style from your other doc into the newly created one.
Save the new doc as a template.
Use this new template to create your doicuments.

Unable to load the data into HFM

We created new HFM app configured that with FDM, generated output file through FDM and loaded that file through HFM directly 5-6 times, there was no issue till here.
Then I loaded the file through FDM 4 times successfully, even for different months. But, after 4 loads I start getting Error. Attached is the error log .

We are working with the DB team but they have confirmed that they is no issue with the TB, the process we have followed
As a standard process – while loading the data from FDM or manually to HFM – we don’t write any SQL query. Using the web interface – data would be loaded to HFM application. This data can we viewed by different reporting tools (smart view(excel)/HFR Report/etc.)
There is no any official documents on oracle website which talk about Insert SQL query which is used to insert data to HFM tables. Even, Hyperion does not provide much details on its internal tables used. Hyperion does not provide much insight on internal structure of HFM system.
As per Hyperion blogs/forums on internet –HFM stores the base level data in so called DCE tables (for example EMHFMFinal _DCE_1_2013 where EMHFMFinal is application name, 1 identifies the Scenario and 2013 the Year). Each row in the DCE table contains data for all periods of a given combination of dimensions (also called an intersection).
We are trying to load same data file with a replace option( it should delete the existing data before loading the data file).

Metadata load "unspecified error"

While trying to load metadata changes into our system, it seems that all the steps are completed successfully but once it gets to the last step we receive an unspecified error. We have been rebooting the HFM application server to resolve this issue, but there needs to be a more flexible solution as this impacts us heavily taking outages during our month end close periods. Does anyone have any insight as to why this error may be occurring or does anyone else experience this issue?

BIA Index Loading into Mmeory (for SAP) ....

Hello all,
I went to www.sdn.sap.com and chose Business Intelligence from the left menu.
In the BI Knowledge Center (Right side), I chose BI Accelerator, which is under Key Topics section.
Then I opened a document "SAP Business Intelligence Accelerator (PDF 154 KB)".
Go to the section "SAP BI Accelerator at Work", which is at page# 5. The third point says like this -
BI accelerator indexes are loaded into memory where the query is processed. In memory, joins and aggregations are done at run time. Loading of indexes into memory happens automatically at first query request, or it can be set for preloading whenever new data is loaded.
I had an understanding that it will be loaded into memory only when query was first executed. But this says it can be set for preloading as well wherever new data loaded.
My question is that where this setting can be done for preloading?
It says that preloading option is available whenever new data loaded so does that mean that it can only be set for rollup of BIA Index and for initial load, it will still load data into memory when the query is first executed.
I would appreciate if somebody has knowledge of this as it is new technology.
Others, who has a knowledge can also answer.

I found it.
It is an option on BIA Index Property button in the wizard. It appears only after the initial load is done. There is check box for to keep the BIA Index in main store. I thin it is only applicable to Roll-up.
