Automate Portal Import

I am looking for a way to automate the process of Importing transport packages from my development to stage and then to production portal. Does anyone have any documentation on how this can be automated? Can this be done with a simple unix command at the file level?

Although the best practices of Transport Management System for the Portal/NW does not suggest this approach, you can automate it by using NetWeaver compliant software such as Redwood. Additionally, on Solution Manager 4.0, some of this may be possible.

U may perform the transport to QA using CMS. Or u may simply export the ESR objects as tpz file and import it in QA system.

Disabling automatic photo import on iPhoto 4?

Carelessly selected the 'automatic import' option on a pop-up window some days ago when connecting my camera (Sony Cybershot P100) while running iPhoto 4. Now, everytime I insert a MemoryStick on the USB reader connected to the Mac, iPhoto launches and attempts to import the pics on the stick... which 99% of the time is not what I want to do.
Try to abort import, sometimes it does, sometimes it says 'importing, please wait', end up force quitting iPhoto.
Is there a way to deactivate automatic photo import? I've searched all over the preferences and can't find a way to toggle that option.

Error on passing paramter names longer than 16 char on portal import page

After created a transport set, we used portal import page to import it.
However, when we select that transport set and click "import", an 404 error occured right away. The url is:
/pls/portal/PORTAL.wwutl_ui_export_import.import_eds
When we check the Apache error logs, it seemed all parameter names that are longer than 16 characters in the page's html form were passed wrongly. Those characters
after the 16th character of the parameters' names were some unreadable or wrong
ones. For example, P_EXPLICIT_MODE_EDS was passed as P_EXPLICIT_MODE_ËâN to the
backend pl/sql procedure and that's why there was a "SIGNATURE (parameter names)
MISMATCH" error I think.
My question is actually why the internal portal pages couldn't pass parameter
names that are longer than 16 characters. Are there some settings wrong with
the portal metadata database or oracle portal itself, or even our linux system? Was it because maybe we set the multilanguage-support for our portal?
This error also happens in some other portal internal pages. Please help and you can also contact me at email: [email protected]

Found a note explaining the significance of these errors.
It says:
"NZE-28862: SSL connection failed
Cause: This error occurred because the peer closed the connection.
Action: Enable Oracle Net tracing on both sides and examine the trace output. Contact Oracle Customer support with the trace output."

Change date format & Fill automatically portal user ID ?

I have imported a Module to Visual Composer from a backend system. I have 4 input parameter's. Two of them are of type date.
1] When ever I am entering a date in mm/dd/yyyy format, it is automatically getting converted into mm.dd.yyyy while executing & My backend function module is not responding to this date format & is not able to fetch data. I would like to change the date format to mm/dd/yyyy while supplying as a input to backend Function Module,irrespective of user input.
2]I have a input field as userID,my requirement is to fill it automatically with the portal UserID,through which user has logged in.
Does any one have idea about it?

Automate the import of company contacts to new users in Office365

Hey all,
I'm looking to find a way to automate the way I import our internal company vcard contacts to a new users Outlook 2013 contact list. Right now, I'm having to save each individual vcard manually into the new users Outlook 2013 contact list.
What I would love to happen is when I create this new user in the O365 admin portal that this user will automatically have these company contacts included.
Is this possible?

My problem: I wanted to import my addresses out of the thunderbird addressbook into my iPod Touch
Solution:
You need mozilla thunderbird with an addressbook stuffed with your contacts, an addon called "MoreFunctionsForAddressBook" (Altavista, Google, msn etc. are your friends to find it), outlook express
The steps
Create a folder for your vcards
Install MoreFunctionsForAddressBook as addon to your thunderbird
Open your addressbook
mark all your addresses, _*go to extras, export vcard and send them to the new folder*_
Mark all the cards in the new folder, copy them by pulling them into the addresslist.
Then you push the correct button in iTunes and it will do the rest ...

Portal Import/Export Different OID Servers

We are trying to move our 9ias instances (portal) to another set of servers used for production with security. Both instances are associated with their
own OID/Infrastructures - they are not sharing the same infrastructure.
I reviewed Note:216572.1 Subject: Exporting/Importing in Oracle Portal 9.0.X, but it does not tell you the steps required to migrate the users/groups as well. I also looked at the Portal 9.0.2 Export/Import FAQ (http://portalstudio.oracle.com/pls/ops/docs/FOLDER/COMMUNITY/OTN_CONTENT/MAINPAGE/DEPLOY_PERFORM/EXPORT_IMPORT_FAQ_1120.HTM) , but neither tell you how to export the users. They only say to use the OID Tools. What tools?

How do I export/import objects (with security) between portals using different OID servers in 9.0.2?
A manual workaround is available:
1. Use OID utilities to migrate Users/Groups from source OID server to target OID server.
2. In Oracle9iAS Portl, migrate portal objects with "export security" enabled from source Portal to target Portal
3. (MANUAL) For the imported users, set the guid to null (WWSEC_PERSON$.GUID)
4. (MANUAL) For the imported groups, update the guid using the instructions found in the section below on how to update the GUID.

To migrate users, groups, and security within Portal, you must have a common OID environment. The difference between all OID implementations is the RootDSE, (the part that starts with dc=..,dc=..., etc.
You have to extract the user base and portal groups (and any other unique objects and attributes) from the old OID environment and and use the extraction to create an ldif file that will add these to the new OID environment. The ldif must have its own RootDSE for all distinguished names (dn) and common names (cn) in the ldif file.
We basically created our OID migration solution around a Java applet that prompts for the OID IP address, OID HOST NAME, OID ADMIN USER, and OID ADMIN PASSWORD. It access the new OID environment and extracts the RootDSE, then builds the ldif file for import of groups, objects, and attributes. Our user ldif will do pretty much the same, once we have the user list from our customer.
The more complex issue revolved around the migration of external applications, which I address in my EXT_APP package, which enables you to build portlets containing links to external apps, while maintaining portability, as well as Item Level Security. YOu can find this in my Knowledge Exchange folder.

The message
Component DYN_HEADER with id 4467146863 cannot be reused or overwritten, since the name DYN_HEADER is in use by another Component.
indicates that a component with the same name already exists in the target. However, this component does not come from the same source as the one in the transport set (hence the difference in the id). This could also happen if the same component name was used to create objects in the target environment.
In order for pre-check to succeed, you will either have to rename the components in source (and re-export them i.e., create new dumps) or rename them in target so they don't clash.

when u do a single transaction for the combinaion of vendor and material,velues will auto update in next po (info rec)
now as velues for all material and vendor combination is not same, giveing fixed value will make no sense
so just ask ur client to create pos for diff mat and ven
as he goes on system will auto update prices
MEK1 will only be applicable for the conditions with ACESS seq ,so for the import condition it is of no use

Ora-01017 error on portal import

source and destination portals:
win2k adv svr w/sp3
Portal 9.02 (patches 2724516,2627719,2597989 applied)
separate OID servers
Exported a database provider from source portal. Transferred .cmd and .dmp files via email. Ran following imp cmd line on source portal:
D:\oracle\9ias\portal\epic>set oracle_home=d:\oracle\9ias
D:\oracle\9ias\portal\epic>provider_exp.cmd -mode import -s portal -p <portal_schema_owner_pwd> -c
iasdb -pu portal -pp <ias_admin pwd> -d provider.dmp -company NONE
ERROR:
ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied
Import seems to go further if params are hardcoded in, but shouldn't have to do that, right?
any thoughts?

Try it as:
provider_exp.cmd -mode import -s portal -p <portal_schema_owner_pwd> -c iasdb
Then it will prompt you for the File
Then prompt you for the portal username
Then prompt you for the portal's PORTAL password (not schema password)
Then company name
All should go from there.

Pre-sets are are automatically being imported into Lightroom 1.4

Have a Mac 10.5.4
As yet not removed Lightroom 1.4. from computer ( also have a compressed zip copy)
On importing new pre-sets into Lightroom 2.
Lightroom 1.4 automatically imports them - even if I have Lightroom 2 open.
How to I get around this?

Both Lr 1 and Lr 2 use the same default location for presets.
If you want separate preset locations then choose the "Store presets with catalog" setting in the Presets tab of your Preferences settings.

Oracle portal import hangs - no errors

I was trying to Import a newly developed page group into production environment from development environment.
Running Script to Create an Export Dump File - no errors from portal or on
backend.
Running Script on Target System - No errors.
Running imported transport set through The Import Manager on target - doesn't
complete. Doesn't show any errors. It runs repeatedly and doesn't import any
objects.
Please note the same transportset imported on Testing without any errors.

I created a Test page group in development. Exported and ranthe generated script in export mode on the server. Moved the files to target and ran the script in
import mode. Ran the imported transport set through The Import Manager on
target system.
No errors at any stage and it doesn't import and it hangs there.

Hero,
The import log file indicates that import fails for trigger WWSBR_THAT_BRIUD_TRG while merging of items. This is a known issue.
Please look at bug 3228369.
This is due to a data corruption issue on SOURCE instance wherein there are pending entries in thingattributes table for
non-existing subtypeattributes.
Mentioned below are the steps that needs to be carried out:
i) Run the data cleanup script for 9023 (released via bug 3121103) in REPORT mode on source instance.
ii) The output file Data_Validation.txt will indicate whether there are any data corruptions.
iii) If any corruptions are identified then take a database backup, shutdown 902 Midtier and run the cleanup script in RUN mode on
source instance to get rid of such corruptions.
Then
iv) Export the pagegroups from source instance once again.
v) Remove the unsuccessully imported pagegroups from target instance using force_delete script.
vi) And import the new transport sets.

Is it because the script picks default password of portal30 instead of the one specified on command line? This is a major issue for us during migration as passwords may be different on each environment. However the scripts work when the password is hardcoded in the script. Anybody encountered the same problem. Any workarounds/fixes?

Could you please let us know what version of portal you are using. Also, let us know whether you used a UNIX script or a NT script.

Automatically delete imported photos from memory card

I cant find this option anywhere, and with other photo management systems it's a fairly standard option, but how do you automatically delete the photos off the memory card once you have successfully imported them??

You don't. LR is conservative about destroying stuff, and wants you to put the card back into the camera to clear it.
