Automate to sequence audio tracks bug.

Hi.
When you select clips that contain 4 audio tracks, to apply "automate to sequence", only track 1 is added to the timeline. Please, can you fix?
Regards.

I think it is important to resolve this because I used to put multiple clips on the timeline, with the overlay option "x" frames and apply audio transition.

  • Replacing a sequence audio track from 48,000 audio to 44,100

I have a sequence where audio track is 48,000. I imported a 2nd track that I want to synch up to the audio. The new audio track is 44,100. Am I going to have problems with this? Thanks.

I regularly end up provided with VO @48kHz and music @44.1
(or vice versa), and as long as the fidelity is ok, I don't have
any problems with 48kHz mixed final exports.
As long as your 44.1 track sounds good, you will be fine.

  • Nesting Sequences (Audio Tracks Problem)

I am trying to use Premiere to make a rough (rough!) edit of some audio. There is no video yet.*
I made a handful of sequences in Premiere, all of which consist of edited audio clips.
Now I have created a new big sequence, and I want to nest the audio sequences in this new big sequence. (I only want to bring in the audio, if I can do this easily.)
When I drag the sequences into the new big sequence, it keeps dumping the audio on Track 9, which didn't exist before.
How tough will it be to put the audio of the nested sequences on Track 1?
*Animations will be made later in After Effects and added to the timeline to go with the audio. Until then, there's no video.

Your sequence setup is messing things up. Audio tracks are either mono, stereo or 5.1. If you have only stereo tracks (indicated by the two speaker icon at the left side of the track), they can not be placed in a mono or 5.1 track. If a stereo track is missing, one will be created for you. Same with the other formats. There is nothing wrong with a 9-th audio track, but you can delete the empty tracks above it easily to move your audio track to the first track.
Basically, you need to adjust your sequence settings.

  • Audio tracks CS4

I noticed that when i started my project and imported the video, the video clips go in Video 1 of the timeline, but the audio goes to Audio 5. What did I do wrong here?
Also, I imported an .WMA file into the project, when I drag it into the timeline, it overlays my current audio, in Audio 5.  How come it doesn't go into its own track?
    Thanks,

Now, one does have control over where the various Audio Tracks are located in the GUI. Take Rod's example, where you create a Sequence with 3 2-channel (stereo in most cases), and have that 1-channel (mono) source. It will automatically go to a newly created Audio Track 4, which will be 1-channel. If your 3 existing Audio Tracks are empty, and you want that 1-channel Track to be at the "top," just Delete Unused Tracks, and check Audio Tracks - poof, Audio Track 4 is now the only one, and all others, that are created will be below that. Also, in the Track Headers, you can alter your names to suit. I always do a Rename, and will end up with "AVI 1," "AVI 2," "SFX 1," "Music 1 Front," "Music 2 Rear," etc. About like in my example above.
Also, instead of letting PrPro automatically create necessary Audio Tracks (that drag to the lower portion of the Master Audio Track mentioned above), one can go to Create New Tracks, choose Audio Tracks and then locate them, where one wants them.
Also, one can set the default Sequence layout, to include any number of 1-channel, 2-channel and 5.1 Tracks. In that creation scheme, the 1-channel Tracks will come first, the 2-channel Tracks next and the 5.1 Tracks last, just above the Master.
Several have filed Feature Requests to be able to Click-drag Tracks, wherever they wish, but so far, no go on that one.
    Good luck,
    Hunt
PS - note that PrPro keeps track of the number of Tracks, starting with the ones created in the Default Sequence layout, and will automatically increment +1, for all new Tracks created, regardless of what one might have named the other Tracks.

  • CS3: Audio will only go to audio track 4, 5, 6, etc.

    Hello,
I am using Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 and when I bring in a video and then put it in the timeline the audio automatically goes to audio track 4. And if there's like two audio tracks it goes to 4 and 5. I've tried to manually bring the audio up to track 1, 2, or 3 and it just wont. Everything is fine except for that it is just very annoying, I can work around it and I have been for a few weeks now but I have just finally had enough. H
Has this ever happened to anyone else? Have I accidently changed some setting somewhere? How do I fix this?
    Thanks,
    Nicholas

By default your sequence has three stereo tracks. You probably import mono tracks, that are automatically added after the stereo tracks, hence track 4, 5, etc. Mono can only go to a mono track, stereo only to a stereo track and 5.1 only to a 5.1 track. Check the speaker icon on the left hand side of the audio track. It makes no difference, but you can delete the stereo tracks if they are empty and thus move the mono tracks up in the visual representation.

  • Getting multiple audio tracks from monaural clips

Hello, newbie here... just moved from Vegas Pro to Premiere Pro.
Having searched everything as advised, I still cannot find the answer to my question.
I shoot with the EX3. When I drag a MXF clip to the timeline, it automatically creates four audio tracks which it inserts in tracks 4 thru 7, leaving Audio 1 empty, and this is with a monaural recording!
Can anyone tell me, please, what I'm doing wrong?
    Thanks!

Harm, I understand what you're saying. Thanks for your input.
Bill, I read your article, but I'm not entirely sure I understood it. I will read it again.
My question is (see graphic below):
Why is PPro creating three extra tracks-5 thru 7? How do I stop this behavior?

  • Selecting Target Video/Audio track

I apologize if there is already a forum for this question but I was wondering if there is a keyboard shortcut function to change which video track is the target track. I know all the shortcuts for 'arming' the target, or sequence tracks and/or the source video, I'm curious though if there is a way (something like shift+alt+7 (or whatever your track hotkey is)) so that you can select the track that source video will overlay or insert onto without having to use the mouse to select it the track (either by dragging or right-clicking)
Perhaps if not directly selecting a track there is a command that is 'select next track' or 'select previous track'? I've tried looking for it in the keyboard shortcuts menu and can't quite seem to figure it out.
I use a custom layout that is a bit of a mix between the Avid standard and Premiere 5.0 standard. It would be awesome if someone could direct me to the shortcut menu and/or command(s) I'm looking for so that I can set it myself. Or else just let me know that I'm trying to bark up a tree that doesn't actually exist.
    Thanks!

You're absolutely right, I do the same thing. But for it to actually go on Video 2 and Audio 3, not only do those Sequence tracks need to be toggled they also have to be set as Source Video and Source Audio 3 (or whichever source Audio you want) on the far left area of the timeline panel. If the Source Video is set on Sequence Video 1, your video will not appear, but rather an erase occurs on Sequence Video 2 the length of video set by your In and Out in the Source monitor and, if Sequence Video 1 is toggled that is where the video will appear. This is how you can both delete video on one track and place video on another at the same time.
If however you have dragged the Source Video 'icon' up to Sequence Video 2 (or right clicked on Sequence video 2 on the far right and selected 'Set as Source Video) your Video will now appear on the track you desire.
Similarly, whichever Source Audio track is assigned to Sequence Audio Track 3 is the Source Audio which will be placed on Sequence Audio Track 3.
Pretend that you have a  LAV Mic in Audio 1 of your Source Footage and a Shoe Mic on Audio 3 of your source footage, which sounds bad. For whatever reason, you want that Lav mic to be placed on Sequence Audio Track 3. You must set the Source Audio 1 to Sequence Audio 3 on your timeline.
So my question is: Is there a way to move which Sequence Video Track is assigned as the Source Video with keystrokes.
If this still isn't clear I might just make a video when I get home of what I mean. I apologize for any lack of clarity in my querry

  • Audio tracks missing when doing automate to sequence.

Using PMW200 with 4 audio tracks. When dragging single file to timeline I get the 4 audio tracks. But when I do an automate to sequence, I only get 1 audio track, plus, the default audio transition is not going on.
I have all the tracks highlighted and have ticked apply audio and video transitions.
Any idea where I'm going wrong? Thanks
    Mike Ward

Hi Kevin.  I uploaded a clip onto you tube for you to try, but you tube mixed the audio tracks so it was useless.
Basically, drag any video clip with 4 audio tracks recorded from camera onto timeline in cs6, and all audio tracks appear on the timeline.  But automate several similar tracks to timeline and only one audio track gets added.  The other 3 do not appear.  Is there a work around for this, rather than dragging all on one at a time.
    Thanks

  • Audio track does not appear using Automate To Sequence

When I use the Automate to Sequence feature after arranging clips in a Bin, none of the associated audio files show up in Audio 1 but the video clips do show up in Video 1. When I do this on other computers it works fine. (This is a classroom setting.)

Start reading on mono and stereo tracks and project setup.

  • PP 5.0 BUGGGGGGGGGGG! Automate to Seq looses 3 of 4 audio tracks

    Can anyone else confirm this.
    PP CS5,PC, WIN 7 64 bit, Sony PMW 320 camera 1920/1080 mp4 clips.
    1) I import the clips into pp
    2) I drag the clips to the TL : all 4 audio tracks can be seen... GREAT
    OK But
Instead of dragging the clips to the TL I decide to highlight the clips in the bin then "automate to sequence" & only 1 mono track is there.
    What's up with this??
I chose my sequence correctly. Can anyone help with this??

Baffling why they'd do that on purpose.
The simple answer, I suppose, is that it was simply never designed to do so. I imagine its original purpose was primarily for images, e.g. slideshows, and secondarily, video with a single audio track. I use Automate once in a blue moon--just as easy (if not easier) to drag a selection to the New Item button and go from there--but I can see how it would affect some.
At any rate, I think this is an omission more than an intended design choice. As this technically falls more under a feature request rather than a bug report, the more folks that pipe up about it, the more likely it will be changed.

  • MultiCam Monitor Bug - mouse clicking dont swap audio track

    "Audio Follows Video" ON
and "on play" it switch to MC1/2/3
but on pause switch only video track. And now i have video MC2 and audio MC3 for example. When use CTRL for new edit MC for video and audio are same. And all ok when switch with RMB. This bug only on MC Monitor mouse clicking.
my englih bad and i make video
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yrLL1MTgU00

ok in laymens terms I create a multicam sequence using four video tracks and four audio tracks. Normally the start of the sequence would have all the video audio tracks in, however I have started by editing single clips in time line 1. After a min or so I then import all the multicam footage to time lines 2,3,4. So the the actual sequence starts with clips on a single timeline as oppossed to all 4 video and sound tracks filled.
I multicam edit them in a new sequence and on final go to export but it fails. and it fails giving an "unknown error" message because the start of the multicam only has clips on one timeline.
However if I go to the synced sequence (original sequence) copy all the single edits at the beginning, then go to the multicammed sequence and paste these clip straight over the same clips in the multicamed sequence it then exports ok with no errors. I have to do this with every multicam edit I do which is a pain.
now the text above say if I repeat the same process in CS5 not CS5.5 there is no unknown error message and no need to fiddle about copying and pasting so why so in CS5.5?
I know your gonna say simple just do your multicam in CS5 but my main bought plugins and effects are for CS5.5 including native Canon MXF support and AVCHD support so I need the CS5.5 really. its bugged and needs fixing.
    Better?

  • Why are multiple audio tracks causing one of the track levels to increase automatically when the other doesn't have an audio file in it?

So I'm editing an interview and during subtitle sequences in the interview where there is no audio in the interview audio track, the levels automatically rise in the background music track.  Here's an illustration of my problem...
    http://i58.tinypic.com/2rh3atf.jpg
I also troubleshooted by clicking the Solo button on the background music track and the music plays at the elevated level the whole way through when it's set to be the only track to play.  So for some reason, the interview audio track (when it's playing sound) is causing the background music track to decrease in level.  I get the same thing on exports.  Why is Premiere messing with my levels automatically?  No phone or chat support so I'm left asking the forums, thanks for the great customer service Adobe.

    Hi Richard,
Appreciate you taking the time to help out.  There are absolutely no effects whatsoever on the audio or video tracks.

  • Using sequence as source, but only one audio track avail

So I have created a "raw" sequence containing multiple source clips. The source clips have 4 channels of audio and 1 channel of video. When I create my sequence, I see all of my channels....great.
However, when I load the "raw" sequence into the source monitor...I no longer have access to my 4 channels of audio independently. I simply get one audio source track and the audio is mixed....as it appears in the timeline.
When I create a new "raw" sequence, I select multichannel for the master. I've tried every track type (mono, standard, adaptive)...and still I only get one audio channel when the sequence is loaded into the source monitor.
I watched several tutorials about nesting, but there is little discussion about multiple audio tracks.
    Thanks...

Its kind of the point of using a a nest.  ( a pre comp if you like)
Nothing stops the editor going back to the source of the nest to work on the individual assets.  These will update automatically into the nest.

  • Automate to sequence - not on lowest track

When I import a composition to Premiere Pro it seems the only way to move it to the timeline is to "automate to sequence". My issue is, the Automate to Sequence automatically drops it on the lowest video track number no matter what track I have selected. Any way to change this?

By design, Automate to Sequence will target the lowest available video and audio tracks. You could lock the tracks you do not want it to automate to. e.g.: if you wanted to automate to track 3, then you would lock tracks 1 & 2. Hope this helps.

I'm not sure I follow your words Fuzzynormal. You've helped by offering the insight that my issue in Logic Pro 9 is not a bug but a feature.
