Automatic Approvals don't Approve

I have an Automatic Approval that includes Definition Updates and Office 2010. I've noticed that my WSUS doesn't want to. approve any of them for some reason. My rule looks like this:
Looking at the latest June definition update, it's not approved. Are my rules done incorrectly?

I've actually got lots of them that are not auto-approved. Many are older security updates. When I first setup the WSUS server, I did a synchronization before configuring auto-approvals. I'm sure the many updates that are not approved are because of this.
I understand that anything synchronized before this won't be retroactively approved.
I've run every report I could find to locate all my Not Approved updates but WSUS just doesn't want to show them to me. I've been trying to get into the WID database and see if the tables reveal anything but I haven't been able to get the database cracked
open correctly. I realize this is not the right way to do it but short of reinstalling WSUS, I'm stuck.
We use this stand-alone WSUS server to create Win7 and Win8 images and during the creation ( with MDT 2013 ) we update the base images with everything that's needed from WSUS. When we finally deploy the images, we use SCCM 2012 to further manage the systems.
What I'm finding is that after creating our base image and deploying it, SCCM scans it and finds over 60 security updates that WSUS didn't install during the initial image creation. I've had to manually search and approve each one of the updates so we can
finally create a fully patched, base image.
Not as much fun as I'd like to have. Would love to find out a better way of finding all the Not Approved updates.

I don't know what you mean for "reasonable feedback", but as I wrote in the other post, at a certain post you will not able to delay the upgrade and your instance will be updated automatically to CRM 2015. And as the other user wrote, the deadline
is end of June of this year.

Default automatic approvals (in light of KB3001652) considered harmful

In case you didn't know, your WSUS server adds a "default automatic approval" rule that causes it to automatically approve critical and security updates.   If you still have that enabled, you should remove it ASAP. It burned
me.
To remove the rule, go to Options in your WSUS console then "automatic Approvals", select the rule and Remove it.
This month, Microsoft released the Critical update KB3001652 (to Visual Studio tools for Microsoft Office 2010, a run-time library for third-party applications) which caused many systems to hang.
Microsoft quickly revoked the update, but if your (i.e. my) WSUS server has the default automatic approval rule, the bad update (since it is "Critical") is automatically approved then downloaded to any workstation with an application
that uses the library.
When users go to shut their computers down when they leave work, the bad update starts and never stops, continuing all night. And leaving them frozen out when they come in in the morning.   The only recourse is to power off.

Well, the problem here is that Microsoft made a mistake. New revisions shall not contain new binaries.

An even more serious problem IMO is that MS revoked the update but they did not immediately distribute new metadata to expire the update. In fact they have not updated the metadata yet.

If a second-hand iOS device has been 'Activation locked' then only the previous owner can unlock it, either by providing you with the account ID and password, or by removing it from his list of devices (as he should have done before selling it) - please see http://support.apple.com/kb/ts4515
If you are unable to contact him to do this then I'm afraid you will not be able to use the device - there is no other way of unlocking it at all. Apple cannot unlock it for you, and the IMEI number won't help.
You should if possible return it to wherever you bought it and ask for a refund as in this event the device is completely useless.

R12 sent purchase orders automatically to preparer once approved?

Please can anyone advise the steps to automatically e-mail a .pdf copy of a purchase order to the preparer once the purchase order is approved.
Currently we do not sent purchase orders to our Suppliers, we only want to send approved purchase orders to the preparers.

We are using workflow in the case of approvals, however we do not want the email output to appear to be coming from the last person who touches the order via workflow. Is there a way to customize through workflow to not use the last person who touches it as the sender?

PO not created automatically after creation and approval of SC

Hi all,
We are using SRM7.0 Extended Classic Scenario.
We are able to create Shopping Cart successfully.
For items where a source of supply is not supplied, the Shopping Cart goes through the approval process and then into the sourcing Cockpit.
But for the other Shopping Carts, PO is not getting created automatically after the approval of SC.
Any ideas/suggestions on this issue would be highly helpful.

Can you check this configuration in Sourcing for particular PCat?

Then run the report BBP_SC_TRANSFER_GROUPED which will automatically group requirements together for
the creation of a PO.
And, If the requirement does not have a source of supply, it appears in the work list of the sourcing application for manual assignment. Once you have assigned a source of supply, you can submit the requirement to the report.

Débutant sous Diadem, je souhaiterais filtrer des données dans un tableau sous diadem 2012 (style filtre automatique excel).Je possède trois colonnes: Date / Valeur / État (1=bon ; 3=mauvais). Je souhaite afficher uniquement les valeurs avec un état bon (état = 1) et ainsi pouvoir exploiter par la suite ces valeurs (courbes, statistiques...).
- Existe-t-il un filtre rapide pouvant répondre à ce besoin?
- Peut on sélectionner automatiquement plusieurs lignes avec une valeur connue et les supprimer (exemple ici: sélectionner toutes les lignes avec un état à 3)?
- Sinon existe-t-il une autre solution ?

Je pense avoir trouvé une solution pour afficher uniquement les valeurs souhaitées dans ce cas.
- Créer une nouvelle colonne "Valide"
- Ouvrir calculator et saisir la formule suivante : Ch("[1]/Valide")=Ch("[1]/Valeur")*(Ch("[1]/Etat")+CTNV(Ch("[1]/Etat")>1))
On obtient ainsi une nouvelle colonne "Valide" dans laquelle on renvoie les valeurs de la colonne "Valeur" si "Etat" est 1; sinon on renvoie "NoValue" pour les états supérieurs à 1. On peut ensuite travailler et visualiser des graphes à l'aide de cette dernière colonne.
Espérant avoir apporté une aide (ou des pistes) à d'autres personnes dans cette situation.

Automatic updates don't save preferences

When Adobe CC automatically updates an application, I've noticed that it asks if I want to retain my current application preferences. I always click "Yes" because I don't want to go through setting everything up to my way of working every time CC updates.
Unfortunately, that doesn't seem to apply to Photoshop CC. Yesterday, I updated PS through the cloud and the installer asked if I wanted to retain my preferences. I clicked "yes". But Photoshop did NOT retain my preferences, nor did it retain my keyboard shortcuts or my customized layout. I had to go back in to PS and re-set everything I'd spent so much time setting up before the update.
Can anyone tell me why this is the case and when it will be fixed?

I don't remember seeing that as a question or option, nothing to allowed me use my CC 14.21 preferences or any prior version of Photoshop preferences for CC 2014 Preferences. I seem to remember only being asked If I wanted to migrate my Presets. Migrating one's presets can be done during installation or after installing using menu Edit>Presets. I did have the installer migrate my CC 14.2.1 presets but I had to change Adobes default Preferences the I don't like. Automate copy version after approval process

My client wants the system automatically copy data from version A to version B after they approve a request. Example: Department manager approve asset request with "Final - ABC", then this version is automatically copied to "Working - DEF".
Is it possible to do that in Hyperion?

While not entirely automatic, you could attach a business rule that copies Version A to Version B, to the form that the person reviewing and approving the asset req uses for the review. Make sure only that/those reviewer(s) have access to see and use the business rule. If they know they are going to approve, run the BR then approve.

Time Machine automatic backups don't work since 10.6.4

TM stopped doing automatic backups on my MacBook Pro, apparently when updated to 10.6.4 on 2010-06-16. Backup only runs when I initiate it manually, or when the machine reconnects to the home network, after time away or upon reboot.
Each time I enter System Preferences > Time Machine, the switch on the left says TM is OFF and the Next Backup time reads: Automatic backups off. I can turn the switch to ON (the word "ON" does not turn blue, as it should, and Next Backup does not change), but when I exit and re-enter, it shows OFF again.
/Library/Preferences/com.apple.TimeMachine.plist when opened in Property List Editor says "AutoBackup, Boolean, checkmark." I have dragged this .plist out of its folder and restarted, letting TM recreate it -- it didn't change anything about the above behavior.
I looked in the backup set to see whether either /System/Library/PreferencePanes/TimeMachine.prefPane or /Applications/Time Machine.app had been updated at 10.6.4. Indeed, both had changed around the day of installing 10.6.4.
I replaced the directory /System/Library/PreferencePanes/TimeMachine.prefPane from a June 1 backup. After reboot -- nothing had changed.

My takeaway from this investigation is best summed up by Chuck Goolsbee
That's exaggerated. Time Machine is more complex, and does more for you, than most backup apps. Some of the messages are not helpful, and Apple's documentation is, well, inadequate.
But it does work well for most of us, and there are resources to figure out how to fix it when something does go wrong.
But, I've learned over the years (mostly the hard way, of course ), never to trust my backups to a single app or piece of hardware: no app is perfect, and all hardware fails, sooner or later.
So, like many here, I keep +secondary backups,+ in addition to Time Machine. See #27 in Time Machine - Frequently Asked Questions (or use the link in *User Tips* at the top of this forum), for details.

Facebook videos showing automatically---I don't want this happening

When I log on to Facebook, any videos that are posted to my wall start playing automatically. In Firefox 3.xxx this did not happen.
IS there some setting in FFx 4 that controls this, or is it in Facebook?

When choosing Restart, Sleep or Shutdown there is a checkbox you can uncheck to prevent the apps from launching.
Also in System Preferences > General there is a hard-to-find checkbox under "Number of recent items" you can turn off.
If you want to turn it off on a per app basis, (TextEdit is by example, replace TextEdit with the name of the app)

IT admins need to update firefox installs in the organization, but we use security software to protect hard drives, so automatic updates don't work. Is there an UpdateFirefox.zip file?

We are using Centurion Smartshield to protect the hard drives on all PCs in our organization. This software reverts the state of all drives to a default setting with each reboot, so no updates will be retained. Also, staff do not have the permissions to install most software updates. The Centurion Smart Control Console provides a way to remotely execute updates, but they refer to an UpdateFirefox.zip file. I'm wondering if such a file is available from Firefox. I know updates are not provided in an MSI.

I believe the heavy reliance on the javax.net.ssl.keyStore system property is just wrong. An applet-local key manager for client-certificates would be really helpful.
The current (1.4) plugin design includes its own certificate management ui (control panel). I feel this is wrong design. Why is there no upcall available from the applet framework into the host/browser's certificate management? The same sort of thing happened with the move from awt to swing. The not-invented-here mentality? What's next, a special java filesystem? :) Luckily applets are normally kept away from files, but with the impending service-oriented world, with certificates being passed about like Amoeba capabilities, better integration of the plugin with the host's security management is going to be a sore need.

Dear all,
on a WSUS server / Update Services / Options exists the "Automatic Approvals" Option.
Once you open it, advanced features will be shown.
One of the advanced feature is called:
"Automatically approve updates to the WSUS product itself"
Does it mean, that only updates for the WSUS server services
will be approved, or
does it mean, that the WSUS Server will also approve
WU Clients updates (f.e. wuauclt on Windows XP clients or higher, ...) ?

I know this post is old but I need clarification about this specific question.  When we want to approve an update, we can approve it for "all computers" of for specific group of computers.     So I don't understand
how the automatic approval of WSUS updates works.
In the WSUS update window, there was an update that was needed on 1 computer even if there was a check in the "automatic approval of WSUS updates".    And it was not approve.
I had to create a group called "WSUS update needing approval" and assign this computer to that group and then approve the WSUS update to that new group.
I am not sure that I understand it correctly.
Can someone clarify this for me please ?
