Automatic backlight adjustment not working

Hello,
My 2012 13inch MBA is from this July, and I never got the automatic backlight of the keyboard to work.
I can manually turn on/off the backlit keyboard, but the automatic setting doesn't do anything.
Even in a pitch black room, the keyboard won't light up.
My 2007 Macbook Pro had this feature working like a charm, so I wonder why it doesn't work on my new machine.
The MBA is running Mountain Lion with the last 10.8.2 update.
Any idea guys?

Hi, i bought a macbook air 2013 in july. about 2 weeks ago i discovered the automatic brightness adjustment and checked it was working correctly. about a week ago i realized it wasnt. i turn the lights off (or cover the sensor next to the camera) and the keyboard light dims instead of increasing its intensity. and the exact opposite happens when the lights are on.
i have already restarted the system managment controller as it is explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964 but the problem persists.
and of course i have checked the adjust keybord brightness box in the keyboard settings.
i dont now what else to do. any help would be very much appreciated.

I updated, but now my keyboard backlight will not work. Any suggestions?

I recently updated my MacBook Pro to OSX 10.8.4, but now my keyboard backlight does not work and there is nothing I can find in the Keyboard section of preferences to turn it back on. Anyone else had this problem?

One of these steps should help.
1. Restart.
2. Press F6 key couple of times.
3. System Preferences > Keyboard > Keyboard
                       Uncheck the box next to "Adjust keyboard brightness in low light"
4. Reset SMC

Layout adjustment not working with tables

Hi all
Why will layout adjustment not work with tables?
I am trying to re-format from A4 landscape to A4 portrait.
The text box containing the table will resize but not the table.
Any clues why this might be, I don't want to manually resize every table in the document.

Having resized the table and got the little red ovals, I tried various things like changing the font size etc but the best workaround I found was to select the table and change the cell inset value to 0, this got rid of all red ovals and I didn't need to change the font size.

Try restarting the iPhone by holding down the on/off and the home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo. If you are still having problems, then you should take your iPhone to Apple for repair.

Automatic update does not work

On my both computers (Windows 7, Window 8), the automatic update does not work at all, although it is activated in the options. All I get in the Firefox info box is that an update is available, with a link that I have to follow to download the installation file and install it manually. No difference even if I wait for weeks, the update is neither downloaded nor installed automatically. The problem persists in all Firefox versions since version 3.6.16 / 2011 (the last update in the chronicle). Note that the automatic update seems to perform well in the Windows XP mode of my Windows 7 system !

It will update eventually; there may have been availability problems on the update servers.

Keyboard Backlight does not work

I just got my new 2009 13" MacBook Pro.
I have installed Vista and loaded my Boot Camp drivers.
The Keyboard Backlight does not work.
Any suggestions?

Phone crashed, Backup did not restore at all. Also, the backlight will not work. HELP!

Self explanitory, I suppose. I'm only 17, my parents don't want to help too much, so a self-fix would be appreciated.
My phone spazzed, the screen stopped working, so I backed it up. on multiple computers. I restored it to factory settings, and when I tried to restore from backup, On every computer I recieved an error stating that it could not restore because the backup could not be saved onto the computer. The factory settings phone works fine, but the backlight will not work 99% of the time (except random sporaddic moments that last a milisecond). It is getting extremely annoying, and I have lost all contacts, over 10,000 pictures, meaningful texts, recordings of songs that I worte, My whole calendar for college, and most importantly, a voice recording of my now-deceased mither telling me she loves me. Is there any way that I can get all of this back, or at least get the backlight to work?! Please and thank you, Katie.

hello, I have a problem with my iphone 4. Yesterday I set the alarm, and the screen went black. The phone still works but the backlight does not work. Can you help me ? Plz

I have turned it on under settings.
I have reset it.
I have restored it.
I have got my Ipod for at least six months.
I am using the latest firm ware.
My Ipod used to work well, but some day while I was running it froze. After that I have rested and restored several times and what is happened is some times it is still freezing or keeping change the music without playing (like searching). Additionally, I have noticed tha the back light do not turn on. I realy want stoping reset and restore my Ipod, almost every time I use it I have to perform these procedures.
Any help?

After ram upgrade automatic sleep is not working anymore

Some days ago I installed a second 1GB ram module in my 20" Intel iMac. After this I noticed that the automatic sleep do not work anymore. The display turns off but the iMac not. The iMac makes sounds like he wants to do to sleep but could not.
I tried everything I could find... delete OS X powermanagement prefs, run Onyx, reset the SMC.
Do anyone have an solution for this?

Yes it is the same, I had a look on this before I bought it because I wanted to use the dual-channel mode.
Also, what are your settings for sleeping your iMac?

I more thing to mention when I start the sleep mode manually everything is fine. I also tried to disconnect all external USB/Firewire hardware and tried it with a fresh mac os install on my USB HDD.
Nothing helped.

6800 fan adjuster not working

Hi all,
This is my first post I hope someone can help me. Basically I have just received a 6800 128mb card. My problem is that i bought this card mainly becuase of the superb cooling solution and the fact that the fan speed can be adjusted.
However no matter what I try the fan is 100% all the time. I move the slider back and froth and nothing happens.
I have installed all the latest drivers and no change, I have the msi 3d turbo as well but that will not show fan speeds etc. is this my problem? and if so does anyone know how to sort it before I rma?

You could try to remove the small plastic plate which keeps the FAN speed from getting too low or stopping.
I also can't hear a difference for different settings of the upper 50% of the slider setting, but if you put it lower the slider gets very sensitive.
If it still does not work, I would RMA the card.
