Automatic batch creation while making the UD

Hi Gurus,
Due to a customer need, I want to create the batch number for a good's receipt while making the UD, is that possible in a way other than using transaction MSC1N?

What I have understood is you need not to create batch number while posting the MIGO document and need to fire the batch number at the time of performing UD? If it is so then here is the solution:-
You can meet the requirement via so many ways but according to me the easiest way is, follow these steps.
Step:01 Copy the movement type 101 (use Trx OMJJ) create Z01. Where you need to select the option "No Creation" in the field "Create New Batch" in the entry level control.
Step:02 Use this movement type while creating GR, (change the std setting for GR against PO for trx MIGO)
Step:03 For movement type 321 - TF quality to unrest change the settings for the "Create New Batch" field from "No creation" to "Automatic / manual without check"
I think these will be enough for your requirement.

Automatic Batch Creation at the time of GR for Customer Returns

Hi All,
We are using batch management with functionality of automatic batch creation for variuos movement type 101/103/105/561 etc. with updation of classification in foreground.
We are even using automatic batch creation for Inbound delivery. By configuring IMG object "Batch creation Control for Inbound"
Now we have a new requirement of automatic Batch creation for GR of Customer Return against Customer Return SO (Movement type 651). And updation of classification in foreground.
I have tried a lot but couldn't find how to configure the same.
Can I create GR custmor returns 651 thru transaction MIGO?
Any suggestion how to achieve this.

Hi,
What Sairam said is correct, the idea of automatic batch creation is so that when you manaufacture or create an item you can allocate the characteristics to that batch and give it a number.
You then sell that batch to a customer.
When the customer returns the item the system should NOT automatically allocate a new batch number to it because this is breaking a VERY important audit trail.
In batch management (in some inductries more than others) it is VITAL to have a full audit trail of a bathc so that any problems concerning that batch can be traced back to their origin. What you are trying to do is to break that audit trail (although I can fully understand what you are trying to do).
I would leave the batch allocation for returns as manual and then when you transafer the item from returns to unrestricted (or quality etc.) tyou can then input the new characteristics.

I have already performed following steps, but still i am facing problem for Automatic Batch determination while creating outbound delivery :
1.CT01- Creation of Characteristics. ( Define Selection Class )

4.Batch Search Procedure & Strategy type

a.To create condition type T. code V/C1
b.To create access sequance T. code V/C2
5.V/C5 - Allocate SD Search Procedure/Activate Check u2013 assign sales organization , order type into Batch search procedure.
6.V/CL - Activate Automatic Batch Determination in SD - Activate automatic batch det. for delivery item categories u2013 select item category and activate auto batch determination
7. VCH1 u2013 Create batch search strategy against strategy type as per the access sequence needed.
Please let me know is there any other step, apart from it.

Automatic Batch creation for a material.

Hi Friends,
we require automatic batch creation at the time of confirmation of process order for a particular material not for all the materials existing in the same plant and also not for all the materials existing in the same material type.
we have activated batch level at the material level,

Batch is created automatically either when an order is created or released. (setting in OPKP)
I hope its not possible during confirmation.

Automatic po creation while doing GR?

Dear Gurus,
I have completed all the relevant settings for automatic po creation while doing GR.But in MIGO, in vendor tab(header), i m not able to see the vendor field.How ill i proceed so that i can able to complete GR and get the PO.
I am choosing "A01 Goods Receipt" and "R01 Purch Order" and "Mvt type : 101"

Pl. check the following once again:
1) In Vendor master record -- purchasing view -- check the automatic PO option
2) In material master record -- Purchasing view -- check the automatic PO option , maintain a Purchaing Group
3) Now goto IMG --> Materials Management --> Inventory Management and Physical Inventory --> Goods Receipt --> Create Purchase Order Automatically --> Check the automatic PO option against 101 MVT
4) Goto MIGO --> Settings --> Default values --> In the NON ORDERED ITEMS AT GOODS RECEIPT FOR PURCHASE ORDER tab , in material field give MVT 101 --> click on adopt
5)You have to maintain a Standard Purchasing Org.
Goto IMG -->Enterprise Structure >Assignment>Materials Management->Assign standard purchasing organization to plant
6)Create a PIR for that standard P.ord , Pgroup maintained in MMR ( make sure that you have only created one PIR for that material , Vendor , Plant , Porg , Pgroup combination)
7) Now create the GR following the exact steps what you do generally when you create a GR without PO
At the time of GR, maintain Vendor code in Partner tab

Automatic Batch creation at the time of usage decision in qa32

hi all,
while doing usage decision in transaction qa32, user has to enter batch. can this batch assignment be done automatically at any stage of quality inspection? any ideas?

Hi,
When the Material is subjected to Quality management & batch management is active for that material.
Then during Goods receipt you can use automatic batch for that material so the material will be in Quality inspection with batch update
when you do the GR in 101
Whenever you do the usage decision then the same batch will flow.

I have configured automatic batch craetion in GR and same is working in Test client. And transfer the same to Quality but same is not working in quality.

Automatic Batch creation when posting 103 document

hi all,
i want a modification in the system. currently in our system, when 101 document is created in MIGO, system automatically creates a batch. But when 103 is done, batch has to be created manually in the system and in qa32 while doing quality usage decision, user has to assign batch to inspection lot. what i want that in 103 as well, batch autmatically creates like 101 and inspection lot is assigned to batch automatically. Is this possible? If yes then what configurations i have to do?

There are two ways of creating a batch no. in MIGO
1) Internal Number --Automatic
2) External Number -Manual entry.
Go to SPROLogistics General->Batch Management-> Batch Number Assignment>Activate Internal Batch Assignment
Click the Internal Batch Number Assignment for Assigned Goods Receipt --Select the plant ,tick it and save it.
Do the MIGO automatically Batch number will be created.

Hello PP Gurus,
I have a scenario related to Repetitive Manufacturing.
I am doing MFBF transaction and doing Assembly backflush by clicking Post with correction. One of the components is batch managed.
My requirement is : On selection screen of MFBF I enter MAterial,PLant BAckflush Quantity , REM Production Version and Storage Location.
What I want is that for the component that is batch managed there should be automatic batcah determination based on shelf life and also it should pick up stock from a particular storage location only.
Also when I click POst with correction button and go to components screen the Batch Determination button comes greyed out.
For header material have maintained REM Profile.
PLease let me know what all I need to do for meeting above requirement.

I need to know 2 things more from your side.. As you told I need to assign Stock Detrmination Rule and Batch Determination strategy in Control Data 2 of REM profile.
I have doubt on Batch determination strategy :
1) Which Batch determination strategy should I assign here. Second what all else I need to do from my side so that a batch is automatically picked and assigned to the componenet material.
The things what I have done is : I have a made a Batch Class, Assigned shelf life as a charcterstic to it. I have defined a sort rule with this characterstic.
What else I need to do.
Also FYI : We are not putting a planned order in MFBF. We are inpiutting the material to be backflushed...

EDI batching issue while handling the exception.

I am trying to batch the inbound IDOC message coming throught external release as the requirement is to batch the EDI messages
for every IDOC having multiple BGM's. For eg if the 1st IDOC has 4 BGM's and second Idoc has 3 BGM's there should be 2 different batches
of EDI each for 1 idoc.
Achived this using external release trigger and delay mechanism, however if suppose the 1st Idoc fails to process in the 3rd message due to mapping
issue then the previous 2 BGM's and already sent to the messagebox and subscribed by the batching orchestration. And when the second message is arriving
with suppose 3 BGM's, the 2 BGM's are getting batched with them..
For eg : 1st IDOC - 4 BGM repeating record -- 3rd is failed in orchestration looping but previous 2 are already sent to messagebox and subscribed by batching orchestration
2nd IDOC - with 3 BGM are processed successfully and then releasing an external trigger making the previous 2 also to get batched with the 2nd IDOC.
My requirement is if there is any mapping issue then the previous BGM's which are sent should not get batched by the batching orchestration.
Could anyone please suggest on the same?

If third message fails, what do you want to do with previous messages? I think your batching orchestration should deal with incomplete batch after a period of time. You anyways won't be able to retrieve idoc second time.
Secondly, It looks like you want to build create atomatic type of solution, for this you need to have one buffering place where you keep all successfully mapped messages intermediately. Again you need control message mechanism to notify batch complete etc.
(Perhaps you need to explore more on batching orchestration itself).
Another thing, if sap doesn't send single batch into multiple idocs, then you can probably create an orchestration to create whole batch and send control message to trigger edi batching.

Automatic batch determination without maintain the class in material master

Hi,
       Is it possible that we can do automatic batch determination with-out maintaining the class in material master.
       My requirement is i want to do batch splitting at PGI level & user dont want to maintain class in material master only they will maintain VCH1.
       if i will maintain class then batch splitting happening at PGI but if i will remove the batch from material master as well as strategy group then splitting not happening.

Hi anybody help me to config?
In Material classification view i already created class and charactrisitc and define it's value. When i am doing GR material goes to Qauality insepction but i want to do setting for the GR duroing GR posting system will ask me for value selection from charactrisic of batch class. And same will be reflect in posting.
Then after during release of material from quality control dept. again ask same option for selection of value. same will reflect in release quantity.

There is no perfect Solution for this , but try to do by this.
- Set Characteristic as a Entry Required in CT04.So what happen whenvever Batch is generates system saws one warning massge which is as below
The characteristic values for the batch are incomplete
Message no. LB045
Diagnosis
    The class RM_ASSAY contains mandatory characteristics to which values
    have not been assigned.
System Response
    Depending on the system setting, the system issues either a warning or
    an error message.
    o   If the message is a warning (W), the system will accept your entry
        but simultaneously issues a warning to prevent you from making the
        wrong entry.
    o   If the message is an error message (E), the system will not accept
        your entry.
If required you can change this Warning massage to Error also.
