Automatic cache refresh problem with SXI_CACHE

We are facing problems with SXI_CACHE
ISSUE: Automatic refreshing is not done, evey time we had to manaully refresh it going to sxi_cache.
DETAILS
SERVER : PI70 SP09, running on Netweaver 2004S
RFC: Destination INTEGRATIOn_SERVER_HMI
TYPE : H
USER : PIISUSER-service user
Role : SAP_XI_IS_SERV_USER
prefix path: /dir/CacheRefresh
Service No : Http port No (configured one )
License : Valid license not temporary one.
we have configured as mentioned in Configuration guide, still we are facing problems
I searched the SDn got few tips , but that really didnt help to resolve the issue.
Finally we thought of raising this issue to SAP, before doing it i thought i could get some help from SDN.
Any pointers that could resolve this issue will be appreciated.

Plz compare the below mentioned settings with you current settings in XI.
Go to SM59 and create
RFC Destination as "INTEGRATION_DIRECTORY_HMI"
Connection Type: H
Under Technical Setting TAB
Target Host: write the host name
Path Prefix: /dir/CacheRefresh
Service No: enter J2ee port no (e.g. 50000)
Under Logon/Security TAB
select Basic Authontication radio button
SSL select inactive
Under Logon:
Lang: EN
Client: enter client
User: XIISUSER
Password: *******
Under Special Option TAB
HTTP Setting:
HTTP Ver: HTTP 1.0
Compression: inactive
Compressed response: NO
HTTP Cookies: Yes (All)
After doing abobe, press the Test Connection button and accept all cookies and see what is the result. After this refresh the cacahe by sxi_cache.

Cache Refresh Problem in SXI_CACHE Transaction in new client 700

Hi Experts,
    We have installed and configured the new PI7.1 server and were checking its readiness by going through the Readiness Check Document. At one stage while we run the transaction SXI_CACHE in client 700 we are not getting the option of " Start Complete Cache Refresh" in highlighted mode. Thus we are not able to refresh the cache in client 700. But if I login in Client 001 and login using SAP* and run the SXI_CACHE I am able to see all the pipeline steps as well the option for complete Cache refresh and Adapter cache referesh is in Highlighted mode. The status is also green. Can somebody us in knowing where should we look into to solve this problem so that these option are available in the new client for refershing the CACHE.

Problem with SXI_CACHE

Hi All,
I'm unable to do a cache refresh from trax SXI_CACHE. The two options 'Start Complte Cache Refresh' and 'Start Delta Cache Refresh' are disabled in SXI_CACHE. Also couldn't to the cache from Integration Directory.
Any inputs are greatly appreciated.

This might help you
Call transaction SM58 to check the status of the refresh process.
If no entry for function module SAI_CACHE3_REFRESH_BACKROUND is Present any more the cache update is finished.
In RWB component monitoring, we now have the option of checking whether the cache-connectivity is functioning correctly. This is useful when we are experiencing problems when updating the runtime cache. The system displays a separate window in which we perform the test. If no previous tests have been performed, the system displays a corresponding message. Otherwise, the system shows when and by whom the last test run was started, together with the result of this test.
To start a new test run, choose Start Test.
The system displays the first results of the test run. Since the whole test takes some time, we can update the displayed results if necessary.
To Update the displayed results, choose Refresh Display.
The overall result for each component is displayed as a green, yellow, red, or gray symbol. A green symbol is only displayed if both update steps for the runtime cache were successful, that is, they both have a green symbol.

Is CPA Cache refresh linked with ftp or file pooling process in XI?

I have a file to file scenario using Transport protocol as FTP in XI 3.0 SP 15.
When we try to sends some file using ftp protocol where we are using
FTP connection parameters
Server = <CORRECT IP>,
Port = 21 ,
User name <CORRECT NAME>,
Password <PASSWORD> ,
Data Connection = Active
Connection Seq = None
Connection Mode = Permanently
Transfer Mode = Text
Processing Parameters
Quality of Service = Exactly Once
Pooling Interval = 1 sec
Processing Mode = delete
File Type = Text
File encoding = utf-8
The problem we are facing like some time the ftp is not working even the file is present in the location for pick up. If few files are stacked up to be collected then when we are using CPA Cache refresh in Full mode manually then it fetches all the files from the location but the problem is that ,we have a time constraint for this process to be completed in just 60 seconds if we are not able to pick up a file in 60 Secs then the file will be treated as invalid.
So I just want to know how Manual CPA CACHE refresh in full mode generally solve the problem.
Next if more files will be stacked up then cache refresh also failed to solve the problem and more cache refresh result in NOT pooling any other files in XI including the above discussed flow.
So,in anyway Cache refresh linked with ftp or file pooling process in XI?
Please assist me in correctly understating the whole problem and what solution could be put to solve this.

Hi Suraj,
If you see my query i have mentioned that the pooling interval is 1 Second.
If we are not able to pick the file with in 60 Secs as this is a real time scenario so the file will be treated as a invalid file.
Moreover this problem is happening some time.
I have also checked the component monitoring it is saying everything is ok as because we are receiving the file with out any error and the file transfer is also success.The only problem is that it is not collecting the files from the given location.
Hope i make you understnad the problem .If not please revert back i will try to explain once again.

Refresh problem with dreamweaver cs5.5

Hello, I hope someone can help out soon with my problem. We currently have a great running site that is hosted OFFSITE. Our programmer built a new site which is the one having the refresh problems with. It's hosted on an ON-SIGHT server . thank you
Problem:
Sometimes randomly, but almost always when opening other pages, DW freezes for about 5-10 seconds, sometimes crashing (presumably when it takes longer).
It occurs whether changes are made to files or not. I'm using split view it happens mostly whien trying to click something in code view at top.
Test Results:
I was able to consistently reproduce the problem when opening files in the directory.
I was unable to reproduce the problem when opening multiple Include files (that do not use templates).
Thoughts:
Is there something in the template causing the refresh problem?
Something in the new website page source, or in their shared template, may be loading from a (slow) external resource.
Something in the DW settings?

Could you post a screen capture of your File > New dialogue window when you choose it from the menu?
Page From Template should be an option on the far left if I recall correctly (it has been changed in newer versions, but I think 5.5 still used this method). You won't see it in the Welcome Screen or if you hit Ctrl +N. You have to use the menu option to select New...
You should then be presented with a list of sites, when the site is chosen, the templates should show in the middle column.
Or are you saying your template isn't showing when you choose the Page From Template option and select the site?

Cache Refresh Problem

We updated XI 3.0 to SP4, and started seeing several problems related to Cache Refresh and JCo.
In the SAPGUI in transaction SXI_CACHE, we are unable to refresh the cache, and getting the following error:
Connection to system RUNTIME using application RUNTIME lost. Detailed information: Error accessing "http://NETWEAVER:50000/run/hmi_service_id_fresh_mappings/int?container=any" with user "XIDIRUSER". Response code is 503, response message is "Service Unavailable".
In SM59 for RFC HTTP destinations, the INTEGRATION_DIRECTORY_HMI test gives the HTTP/1.1 500 Internal Server Error. The URL is /dir/CacheRefresh.
On the Runtime Workbench, I am trying to run the self-test for Mapping Runtime. We get the following errors:
Ping Status: HTTP request failed. Error code: "503". Error message: "Service Unavailable"
Self-test status: HTTP request failed. Error code: "503". Error message: "Service Unavailable"
We are on XI3.0 SP4, J2EE SP7 and ABAP SP4.
What can I check on the J2EE server to see if the service is running ? And what can I do to fix the JCo connections ? Thanks,

Thanks Hart. I have updated the URL and it succeeds on Test.
However, I still have the Cache updation problem.
When I update an object (say, a mapping) in the Integration Builder, and activate it, the XI Server Cache should get updated with this new object.
On running the scenario, I am getting the following error as observed in the monitor (SXMB_MONI):

Cache Refresh Problems:J2EE

I am facing a problem in cache refresh.
The XI 3.0 server is at SP10. Now whenever i am doing any changes in directory and activating it,it doesnt give me any error. but when i am cheking the Cache notifiactions it shows me a "GREEN" light for ABAP Cache and a "RED"(not yet started) light for Central Adapter Engine Cache.
Thus, in sxi_cache also i see a green light telling me that cache contents are upto date.
I tried doing a manual CPACache refresh by using
http://<host>:<port>/CAPCache/refresh?mode=full|delta , but it doesnt get completed.
Due to this my scenarios are not working currently and whatever changes i am making is not getting reflected.
Has anyone faced this...?
How can I solve this?????

Hi Sunita,
The following are required for a successful CPA-Cache refresh:
1.Correct maintenance of the users in the ExchangeProfile (Adapter Engine Service User and Integration Directory Service User)
2.Successful SLD self-registration of the URLs
3.Availability of SLD
Check the "Problems" tab of the cache notifications overview in the directory. If there is a problem with an incorrect communication then it will be shown in this tab.
Let me know what the "Problems" tab says.

Xi Data Cache Refresh Problem

Hello,
We have following Problem:
We send an XML-Request with HTTP-Adapter to XI and get Data from R/3, works fine.
But when we send a Second Request we become an Error.
The error comes because in the Java Runtime the XI writes wrong values into Message.
When we do a XI Data Cache Refresh for INTEGRATION_SERVER
and INTEGRATION_RUNTIME we can send a message and all works fine again.´
Any Idea why the XI Caches Data from Request and set this values in the message of request that was send later?

Strange refresh problem with two heavily used forums...

For last two weeks, I have observed a strange problem with Database-General and SQL-PL/SQL forums, which are used heavily (comparatively more number of users than other forums).
If I navigate from Forum Home (http://forums.oracle.com/forums/index.jspa?categoryID=84) to Database-General (General Database Discussions or PL/SQL forum (PL/SQL these forum pages open within 2-3 seconds but they open.
But if I hit refresh (F5) from within these forums, 9 out of 10 times, I get a timeout or a page not found error.
I can navigate back one page, click on link to go to Forum home and from there to Database-General or PL/SQL forum and everything works fine.
I have tried clearing all caches, cookies and other settings on my Firefox (3.0.1) but it has not helped so far.
Is this a known issue?

I have to use the back button when after writing a reply, I am welcomed by 500_internal Service error. If I would refresh there, I lose what ever I have written. So I go back and again submit.
For the refresh,at times ( and very often) , I find forums being slow like dead. Ironically with the reply button,thread(s) work but otherwise not. So I do a logout , refresh the page and if have to reply,click on reply. After that again, logout and refresh.
if things are fine than refresh works fine,sadly not quite often as it should be.

Refresh problem with collection

Hello, apologize my English, I have got problem with refresh collections. Follow:
1) I have got two classes which have got dependency together.
2) First class has got collection of objects from second class.
3) I call query "findXXX" which fill collection first class.
4) I create new object second class and again call query "findXXX" to get actual collection. But collection contain old values a I have to close and open web browser to get actual data.
I think It is problem with TopLink cache, but I do not know how solve this.
Can you help me, please?

The cached data is probably stale.
There are many ways to solve this. (see the caching section of the docs)
- there is a refresh option on the query
- you can set a descriptor to be isolated (Cache.shared=false)
- you can set a descriptor to always refresh
- there is a cache invalidation option on descriptor
- there is a cache synchronization option on session
If the cache is stale, but the database was not accessed outside the application, it may be that your application is not maintaining relationships correctly. You must ensure you set both sides of a bi-directional relationship.

Cache Refresh disabled in SXI_CACHE

I am trying to refresh xi cache using transaction SXI_CACHE, but the menu entries for "complete refresh" and "delta refresh" are disabled. Does anyone know how to enable these menu entries? my user has all the SAP_XI* roles assigned.

Hi,
Integration Engine & BPE resides in ABAP Stack.
While Adapter framework and SLD resides in Java Stack.
Cache is a collection of most recent objects in use(Similar to Cache memory).
The System architecture of Netweaver is framed in such a way that as soon as you activate the objects in IR or ID they are automatically reflected in the memoy(which is known as Cache refresh).
But sometimes itsnt reflected, in that case use the transaction code:SXI_CACHE to refresh the cache mannually.

Screen refresh problem with Windows 7

I've recently begun testing Oracle with Windows 7 on a new HP 2540p notebook computer. I've encountered a very strange issue so far. After logging into Oracle, and Windows switches to Windows Basic theme, I should be taken to the main Navigator screen. But instead, the screen is simply white. If I drag (or nudge) the title bar just a bit, the screen refreshes and I can see the menu items. Then if I click on something (or even use hotkeys - ALT+F to get the file menu, for example), I don't see anything happen. But if I move the window just a bit, the screen refreshes and I can see that it did actually take my input, it just didn't re-draw the screen. I'm wondering if this may be a graphics driver issue (I do have the latest driver for the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator HD adapter), or if someone could point me toward a resolution to this problem. Any help is much appreciated.

Toplink cache coordination problem with opmn lookup

Dear all,
We encounter some problems when we use opmn url and jms to realize the toplink cache coordination.
Scenario:
1. Using oracle application server 10g, create three processes(jvm) on one oc4j instance
2. Using oc4j in memory jms server for cache coordination
3. Using opmn url to lookup jms topic connection factory and connection, opmn url: opmn:ormi://shasudv4:6004:OC4J_TTS/tts
When we start oc4j instance, we find the log, all the toplink cache coordination properites has been set to toplink framework, and remote command manager has been initialized successfully. All in memory jms server has also been started successfully, there are three listeners on the topic.
But, when we test the synchronization, the data can't be synchronized between all the processes, two of them is ok, the rest of them has some problem to coordinate with the other two. There are no exceptions, we have set the level of toplink log to 'all'.
I have checked the thread dump, I find that "HTTPThreadGroup", "RMICallHandler" and "JMSRequestHandler" threads are involved in cache synchronization.
So, we are obliged to change the opmn url to ormi url, so we can only set a bound for rmi ports of processes, because the ormi port is dynamicly assigned.

This seems ok, and involved thread are: "RMICallHander" and "JMSRequestHandler". But we also concern that we have restricted the port bound of ormi port of every instance.

I raised a TAR with Oracle. The short answer is that you can't do cache coordination either with ADF business objects, or with Toplink Essentials (as opposed to Oracle Toplink, which doesn't yet support JPA).

Best Solution For Automatic Cache Refresh

I need to know the best solution for automatic cahe update so that we donot get a runtime cache error in SXI_CACHE.We scheduled SAI_CACHE_REFRESH After every 1 minute, But is it the best solution???
We need to know if there are better solution than this?
We have had a look at the "how to Guide on Cache" also.But if we want an automatic refresh after every object is activated whats the best solution.
It works with this but we want to know if there is a better solution or maybe even an implication on using this, as we did not find any documentation on SAI_REFRESH_CACHE.
